Zamzam Review - Finsbury Park - London - The Infatuation

"Zamzam is a Somali restaurant on Seven Sisters that makes stellar bariis iskukaris, a vegetable rice dish packed with sweet peppers, spiced potatoes, soft peas, a handful of raisins, and other bits that taste like they’ve been bathing in a wonderful tub of chicken stock, turmeric, cinnamon, and cumin (among other things). We get it with a pile of caramelised chopped beef and goat, and it’s easily a two meal portion. Starting with some soup is essential, as is some of the homemade shidni (hot sauce) on your table. photo credit: Giulia Verdinelli" - Jake Missing

Zam Zam Review - Haight - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"People seem to think that if you don’t follow a very specific set of rules at this classic spot in the Haight, you’ll get kicked out, and one of those rules is that you’re supposed to order a martini when you’re here. And while you won’t actually be asked to leave for not ordering a martini or ignoring a regular’s stories about when Jefferson Airplane (supposedly) used to drink here, it’s fun to play along at this place that looks like it was modeled after the stories in Arabian Nights. Plus, the martinis are really good. The bartenders claim that the “proper” ratio is 1000:1 gin to vermouth, and even though they never seem to measure anything, they come out perfect every time." - Will Kamensky

Zam Zam means "Stop Stop". It is a well in masjid Al Haram some 20 meters away from Kaaba. Normally a well is dried up after 70 years in that Saudi soil but zam zam is giving water since last 5000 years. It is the purest, holyiest and healthiest water having odourless and colourless qualities. Our prophet Muhammad PBUH said:- "In it there is food for the hungry and a cure for the ill” (Al-Tabrani, 1994: No. 11004).Muh. 9, 1445 AH. Histirically, Prophet Ibrahim had left his son Ismaeel and his wife Hajar in an "uncultivated valley" presently Makkah by Allah's will. When their food was finished the mother Hajar started running back and forth between Safa and Marwa for 7 times. At this point this water source streamed up under the foots of Hazrat Ismaeel by the will of Allah to quench his and his mother's thurst. Prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him) said: “May Allah bestow mercy on Ismail’s mother! Had she left the Zamzam flow without trying to control it, Zamzam would have been a stream flowing on the surface of the earth.” Please note that before our Prophet Muhammad’s grandfather, Abdul Muttalib, and many years after him, the flow of Zamzam water abated and later completely blocked. Abdul Muttalib received a vision in sleep to re-dig the well, and so he located the well and dug it for it to start pumping again and feed the pilgrims. This became the process carried out by Abdul Muttalib’s family and his son Abbas Bin Abdul Muttalib inherited this responsibility after him. Currently this well is 30 meters deep and its pump is sucking water with a high speed of 11 liters per second but water is still coming.

My feelings cannot be expressed in words, surely Allah's signs are very beautiful and glorious. As long as I was in the Kaaba, I forgot all the thoughts of the world. May Allah accept me as his guest again and again. Amen.

AllhamdulLillah Visiting the Holy Kaaba in Makkah was an experience that changed me forever. Standing in front of Qibla, surrounded by people from all over the world united in prayer, I felt an overwhelming sense of peace and gratitude. It’s hard to describe the emotions—tears just came naturally. Every step in Masjid al-Haram felt like a blessing. This isn’t just a place; it’s where hearts heal, faith strengthens, and souls connect to something greater. A journey I will carry with me for the rest of my life. Highly recommended
