I’ve been going to this Zankou for years and I’m familiar with the brand. The garlic sauce is my favorite along with their pita bread. I highly recommend their half chicken rotisserie plate. Their rotisserie chicken is the best and my favorite of all time. With hummus and cucumber salad it’s a great lunch to fill you up. My parents got a meal to go and it was just as delicious as dining in. I’d definitely order or eat here again in the future.

Been eating and loving Zankous for a very long time, but the portions have become shocking. I guess it's like that everywhere. I remember when a plate of Zankou meant getting a container that was *stuffed* with meat - enough for a hearty dinner and leftovers for lunch the next day. Now, containers are smaller, you get a sad scoop of meat, and prices have risen to $20-something per plate (delivery). I'm ok with rising prices, but portions shouldn't be shrinking. Photo attached of an uneaten tarna plate - if I had stacked all the meat to the side, it would be about 30% of the section. Just sad

Me and my cousin were on our way home from Los Angeles after a very long day at work and I still had about an hour and a half left to go, so I decided to look up a spot to eat. I was craving mediterranean food and after a quick google search, I found this particular spot and I figured I'd give it a try. Parking isn't the easiest as its very limited, however I was able to find a spot close by and I walked in. Upon walking in, I was greeted by Tigran and a friendly and welcoming personality. I stood in life while I looked at the menu and he had asked if we were ready, however I needed a bit more time to see what I was going to order. Once I was ready, I walked up to the counter and Tigran proceeded to take our order. My cousin ordered the Chicken Tarna Plate with the basmati rice and garden salad, while I opted for the Chicken Kabob Plate with basmati rice and their tabbouleh salad and an extra chicken skewer. We also ordered two drinks, my cousin had the hibiscus tea and I had the cucumber mint lemonade. The hibiscus tea was not sweetened as most places, which is actually a good thing and pairs up great with this good. My cucumber mint lemonade was the BEST lemonade I've ever had, it was extremely delicious. I must admit I did have to add extra ice and dilute it slightly by adding some water because it was the taste was strong, but in a good way. After serving our drinks, we walked over to take a seat by the windows facing south, the overall seating area was really nice and open, with plenty of space around each seat. I wanted to watch the Dodger game and so I chose this seat where I can have my iPad streaming the game while I enjoyed my food. While I waited for my food, I realized this place is fairly busy, lots of traffic, however it is not overcrowded by any means. I believe majority of orders were to go, however seeing a lot of people made me think this food was going to be really good. After waiting a little bit of time, my order was ready and I called up. I grabbed my tray and walked back to my table. I realized they had these little clear containers with something white inside, looked like some semi-clear white paste but I wasn't sure what it was. Curious to know, I walked to the front and asked Tigran what it was and with a smile he said "That's garlic sauce", I told him I wasn't sure but not once did he make me feel odd or weird about asking what it was. He continued to have a friendly personality. I finally decided to try out the food and oh man, the food was DELICIOUS, I have only had mediterranean from a few places, 5 to be exact, and this one was definitely on top of the list. Each one of our plates had 2 pita breads, which I really appreciated since all the other spots only come with 1 bread and I have to purchase additional ones. I realized maybe I shouldn't eat more than 1 but it was really good, you know I ate both of them haha I could not finish my meal, perhaps because I had 3 cups of the lemonade, or the two pita breads, so I decided t take it to-go. I walked to the counter and asked Tigran if i could have a to-go box for my food and he gave me a very sturdy box, which worked perfect compared to some other flimsy containers other restaurants hand out. I also ordered an extra side of hummus, trust me its REALLY good! Tigran asked me what my name was (for the new order) and I said 'Francisco', he said "Ok I'll try to remember that, I sometimes forget but I will try to remember your name next time you come in" with a smile again. I said I wasn't from this area and I lived out of town, I was just passing by. Overall, I give this place 5 start but I would give it 10 if it was possible. To the staff at Zankou Chicken, thank you for keeping a clean place, to the kitchen, great job, everything was delicious, and last but not least, to Tigran, thank you for everything. If you read this, thank you for the welcoming and friendly customer service, keep it up. I will DEFINITELY stop by for lunch or dinner again when I drive to Los Angeles. Sincerely, Francisco P.

Google
Love this place food is great but sadden to say I will no longer be ordering or coming to this place or supporting Zankou Chicken. I realize one of there employees lives in the building I do. I find it very contradicting the fact restaurant jobs consist on working with people and kindness is key, Apparently these people are huge on looks so whenever I come across the employee not one kind gesture. One has the nerve to come out to my window yell out loud rude disrespectful comments, bumps her music out loud 3am in the morning where I’ve called off from work from the disturbance. It’s continuous and they ganged up with other tenants to cause more disruption. Very low class

Google
The food was good and not overpriced considering the area. Service was friendly and pretty quick, not drive thru quick but drive thru quick but almost. Was higher quality than drive thru. Building was clean and well maintained. Would definitely eat there again. Probably deserves 4 star.

Google
Take out , catering , big order. Very generous portions of cucumber salad, tzatziki, and muttabal aka baba ganoush , and pickled radishes with hot peppers and variation of wraps, rotisserie, falafel, kabob, and taran chicken. They provided plastic spoons forks and knives in wrapping and a alot of napkins. Ordered package side of pita bread. 2nd time for catering and food and service was consistently good.

Great food always. But if you have special requests like no picked vegetables they rarely get it right. Pasadena location is much more accepting of special requests.

Google
Zanku, a hidden gem that serves mouth-watering Lebanese and Armenian cuisine. From the get-go, I was captivated by the classic garlic sauce that comes with many of their dishes – it's absolutely addictive! The long wait times at here are just part of the experience, especially when ordering their popular kabobs or Lule. It’s a testament to the quality of the food that so many people are willing to wait, and trust me, it’s worth it! While waiting for my meal, I glanced at the menu and realized I had forgotten to order the pickled red beets, which usually come with the meal—unless they’re only served with the chicken? As usual, I wished they offered more rice; it's simply never enough! This particular location has a simplicity to its décor. Unlike its sleeker sister location in Burbank, the ambiance is decidedly no-frills. But as the saying goes, don't judge a book by its cover – the real magic happens on the plates.

Yelp
I have been coming here since i was very small. It has been several years since i had been in. I was greeted warmly by Angelica, she was patient and attentive to my requests. I was torn between the tarna wrap and a plate but she guided me to the wrap. I definitely was not disappointed. She was patient with my indecision and suggested i tried the harissa and it was delicious. The establishment was well kept. Overall good experience. We definitely need more customer service reps like Angelica. Would definitely return.

Yelp
This used to be a five-star place to go for delicious chicken, but has declined rapidly in the past few years. I don't know if it's just the Glendale locale or whether the overall brand has gone downhill, but it's a shame and makes me sad. The service is slow and awful. The line to place an order moves at a snail's pace because they're too cheap to hire people who just deal with phone orders and the counter cashiers handle both phone and in-store customers. After then waiting on line for 20 minutes to place an order, it takes an eternity for them to get your order up. because they're too cheap to hire sufficient staff. Over my past few visits, it took more than 30 minutes from walking in the place to receiving my order It shouldn't take more than half this time. Something's wrong and they're too cheap to correct the problem. The chicken used to be juicy and perfectly prepared, but these days it's dry and may or may not be hot by the time they get you your order. Despite bad service and a less- mediocre-product, they have raised their prices. I understand inflation and don't mind paying more if the product remains excellent, but when an unenjoyanle product costs more than it did when it was great, the place loses me as a customer. Don't take my word for it - ask others who frequent this place and I'll bet you'll hear a lot of the same complaints.

Yelp
I've come back here a few more times since my last review; mainly because it's the closest location to me, and let's be real, I love my chicken. I'm someone who prefers healthy, smaller meal portions, and Zankou definitely delivers on that (They offer other, large portioned items on the menu, but this is simply what I like). That said, I really want to point out how much the service has improved for me since my original experience. Tigran (shoutout to you!) has been amazing every time I've come in these past few months. He's taken care of my order with no issues, and even when he's not there, the other staff members have been nothing short of great. I always get the Chicken Tarna in a large container or the Tarna bowl with rice. And since I've become a bit of a regular lately, Tigran and a few of the others have remembered my name and my order, which honestly makes me feel so welcome. I'm really glad I gave this place another shot; now it's one of my favorite quick food spots to stop by.

Yelp
Another delicious Zankou Chicken location. This location is just as busy as the others I've been to with the same old school decor. There is a small parking lot in front and an underground parking structure that has an elevator if you are concerned about accessibility. I was in the area and decided to drop in for takeout. Took home chicken, hummus, garlic paste, tabbouleh, pickles, and tzatziki. Every single item was so good. They forgot my baklava though hence the one star down.

Charmaine G.

Yelp
To think that chicken is the reason why people would come here. Well chicken is too dry. Not a lot of flavor. The pita is also super dry. Im upset. Fist of, i was starving when i came here. Ordered white meat chicken plate. My goodness. Big disappointment. I dobt understand how can chicken be that dry its a busy place.

Yelp
Zankou in Glendale CA has the fastest take out time. Almost only 10 minutes per order. This happened to me this November 27, 2025 ! The personnel were also accomodating and the friendliest !
google avatar

Mari O.

Yelp
Food always tastes amazing like always but my last visit I noticed nothing but a dirty trashy lobby which is very unacceptable especially in a restaurant where people enjoy a sit down meal... my last visit was today November 15 , grabbed my meal and while I was waiting for it I decided to use the restroom like every normal person and was shocked at how utterly disgusting the restroom was , wet floors , toilet papers on the floor , no toilet paper on the toilet paper holders ??? And overflowing trash.... absolutely unacceptable and nasty.

Yelp
I love the Food as always, I just wish i was Wealthy enough to almost eat it every day. So i had a good experience with Angelica, i went on Saturday, and she was really friendly and attentive, she also recommended me some of her favorite foods from Zankou Chicken. I love the Falafel Wrap! The Falafels are fried and warm and perfect amount of hummus. I also love their Meat and their sauces.

Yelp
Good chicken!!!! Loved the sides as well. I ordered the chicken plate with rice. The hummus was really good. Chicken was fresh and flavorful. Will definitely go back.

Yelp
Zankou chicken is one of my top three Mediterranean favorites alongside Massis Kabob and The Kebab Shop. The fresh flavors and high quality ingredients makes the meal. I always get the chicken tarna and the meat is always so tender. I like that it's chopped into small bites. Love the inclusion of pickled radish and fresh tomatoes. Their hummus is so creamy!!! Their tabbouleh salad is not the best but still delicious. Same for the baklava it tasted like it had been sitting there for a while. Highly recommend this Mediterranean restaurant for your cravings and they also deliver!!!

Yelp
Located at a strip mall beside a gas station in Glendale, Zankou was not on my list of must-try places when we went to LA. We were staying in the area and wanted something quick and casual so my MIL suggested Zankou and I was pleasantly surprised. Food was served hot and wait time wasn't too bad. Portions were big too. Thoroughly enjoyed my beef wrap with the side cucumber salad. Their hummus and pita were delicious too. The chicken and beef plate were juicy and seasoned well. I get why this is my MIL's go-to whenever she's in Glendale. Definitely coming back next time we're in town.

Clara L.

Yelp
Very disappointed the portion of chicken i got we uber eats delivery. I would have never excepted this in the restaurant.

Yelp
Despite living in L.A. my entire life, I have never had Zankou. I've heard their garlic sauce is the best. As an Amazon Prime member, I get free delivery with Grubhub so I decided to finally give the infamous garlic sauce a try. Ok, I didn't just order the garlic sauce. I also got a salad, Harissa hot sauce, hummus, pita bread, pita chips, & baklava for dessert because I've been craving it. My food was delivered on time and securely packaged. The salad contained lettuce, cucumber, kalamata olives, parsley, feta, & lemon tahini dressing. Everything was fresh. The Lemon Tahini dressing was good but since I like spicy, I doused my salad with the Harissa hot sauce. That stuff is bomb! I would buy a whole jar full. The hummus was creamy and had a nice flavor. I mixed in some of the garlic sauce, and it was even yummier. Their pita bread is baked daily, and I could taste the freshness. It was soft & fluffy. The pita chips were also good. I'm guessing they are made from day old pita. The garlic sauce did not disappoint. I love garlic and let me tell you - this sauce could keep a legion of vampires away! The baklava was also tasty. The filo layers were slightly crips & flaky, the ratio of nut filing was perfect, and it wasn't over saturated with honey, so it wasn't overly sweet. My craving was satisfied. I don't eat meat but I'm guessing their chicken is as good as everything else. I will order from here again and try some of the other vegetarian options.

Brad R.

Yelp
A shout out to Lesly and her manager for making this experience better for me and going the extra mile to help me add food after the fact to save me some money. People don't do this these days and it was a hassle but they did it with a smile. Absolutely love this place but the staff makes all the difference and I want you to know I appreciate you!

Yelp
Bar none the best shawarma anywhere. Love the garlic sauce in the chicken wrap and the beef shawarma plate with hamus and tahini sauce. A must try.

Jasmen M.

Yelp
Before I used to eat at Zankou Chicken and the quality used to be decent but today I ordered whole chicken and it wasn't fully cooked, there was blood in the meat. Usually when the price goes up the quality should be good too. I'm very disappointed because instead of having a good meal after work, I couldn't eat it.
google avatar

Helen S.

Yelp
I like the chicken tarna bowl with 1/2 rice and 1/2 salad base. If you're lucky, you can get one of the few parking spots outside of the door. Good value for money. When I first visited LA, my friend took me to Zankou chicken and I always associate Zankou with LA.
google avatar

Elisa G.

Yelp
I am literally obsessed withtheir garlic sauce and I want to put it on everything especially the chicken which is so juicy! The employees are nice and do their job. All the locations are pretty much the same including this one. I highly recommend coming here! It's reasonably priced and delicious.
google avatar

Alex J.

Yelp
We had a really great experience with this Zankou ordering for catering. We were helped by Angel and she was super sweet and helpful. We ordered the Mediterranean feast and BBQ special and everything was ready when we went for pick up. The Shawarma was juicy, the Falafel crispy. The Tzatziki was so good, I can't recall the last time I ordered tzatziki at Zankou but they nailed it. The hummus and mutabbal were delicious, the cucumber salad was fresh. The Chicken kebab was grilled so well and still juicy, but unfortunately the shish was dry, They gave us SO much garlic and bread, it was the perfect amount.
google avatar

Marylyn A.

Yelp
Food is still delicious, good service but the prices have gone up so much that I actually have to save up for it lol.
google avatar

Yelp
Always a favorite. Called in 3 chicken tarna plates for New Year's Eve gathering. Picked up swiftly at friendly service counter in a busy restaurant with an even busier kitchen. Fresh whipped hummus, pickled veggies, chicken & pita make a nice meal.

Akeime M.

Yelp
Never again. Was made to wait for pick up order, when ten numbers was called after mine I asked again where my order was. Was given cold food and parts of my order was missing.

Yelp
Love this Zankou location. They just need to hire better people that would like to work here. Because i wont put up with bad attitudes when it comes to spending my money on something. We come here time to time when in the area, and i like to come to Glendale for good food and all. I got the Shawarma plate this time rather than the chicken. Its ok, but it is still decent. They have new items on the menu which make it even fun to eat here now. I have my favorites i like to eat. Always a pleasure at Zankou.

Yelp
Food was amazing. Restaurant is clean and has a good ambiance. The staff are nice. Service is great. Food came fast. Will definitely come back!

Yelp
Wow honestly amazing service girl named Kim she honestly has the best customer service here every time she takes my order she makes sure I'm very well taken care of the staff are friendly as well but Kim goes above and beyond even with a extra garlic ;) if you come here ask for my girl Kim :)

Yelp
Honestly I wish if we have the owner Melissa as manager and owner in every single restaurant here in LA. She is absolutely phenomenal. She went above and beyond to make things super simple from great communication , kindness, and paying attention to details and what customers needs are. The meal I ordered as I was put on VIP book was absolutely super tasty, fresh , clean and the rice was incredible. There was a gentleman today who took my order over the phone and was very welcoming and friendly Thanks again

Yelp
I've been ordering from Zankou Chicken for over 20 years, so it's disappointing to have to say that I won't be ordering in the future. Success breaks almost every restaurant, they raise the price, quality suffers, and what was once great becomes mediocre. Last night I received a tarna plate with dry tasteless chicken, that resembled cardboard, in fact cardboard might have been better. I also received falafel that were as hard as baseballs and again flavorless. Of course the price has doubled over the years or close to it, but it's the poor quality, plus the high price, plus the dry tasteless food that adds up to no more until they get back to basics: GOOD FOOD!

J L.

Yelp
I ordered a whole chicken to go. I asked the person taking orders if I could have a less well-done chicken. In the past I'd received overcooked chicken, and that request helped to get a properly cooked one. He said that wouldn't be an issue- that I'd only get an overdone chicken if I asked for one. WRONG. You can see from the pictures how dry the breast meat is. It turns to paste in the mouth when chewed. There were a few decent bites on the leg where it lay next to the body but that was it. Very disappointing. This is why I hadn't come here in ages. Garlic paste was great. Skin flavor - delicious. But I can get a bigger, juicy chicken at Costco for a third of the price.
google avatar

Arm A.

Yelp
Service not good at all. Long wait in the line and after order they said 10 minutes but after 15 minutes I ask if it's ready they said wait 3 minutes ok after 5 minutes it's not ready but customers ordered after me already receiving their orders. I just ordered chicken tarna plate becouse it is not required waith like kabobs. So I ask for money back then manager said if you want I will tell them they will make it ready for you in 3 minutes I said are you joking or what I am here standing at front of you 30 minutes now you telling me it will be ready in 3 minutes? What a stupid and unorganized place.
google avatar

Shelley D.

Yelp
They make the best garlic sauce. This place has very good chicken and their shawarma wrap is very good. The portion size is very good and it's very fast which is great!

Yelp
Meh is how I would sum up my experience. I got the half chicken and a skewer of lule kebab. The plate came with hummus, two pitas that looked and tasted like they had been bought from a grocery store, and a small salad of pickled vegetables. The chicken was more on the dry side and didn't have much flavor. The kebab was good. The total came to about $45. Overall, i would probably not order the rotisserie chicken next time. I might try their shawarmas and pita wraps.

Yelp
When I think of Mediterranean food, I have always thought "let me get some food from Zankou." Unfortunately my last two experiences are quickly turning that thought upside down. While the customer service and freshness has always been good, most recently I noticed that they are either rushing food out due to number or orders and/or not properly gauging if food is cooked enough. Two orders in a row I have had undercooked chicken. Rice, beef, or almost any other items I wouldn't care as much, but undercooked chicken stands out. Recommendation to the restaurant is to please improve on your quality control to make sure items that need to be cooked properly, like chicken, are safe to distribute to your customers before giving it to them. It's the easiest way to avoid food poisoning. Hope this is addressed asap. Until then, I'm too chicken to eat here again. Yes, the pun was necessary.

Dennise S.

Yelp
Yelp does charge an extra $12 difference for ordering through them as it GrubHub. But other than that, the Glendale location seems to always have friendly staff and the chicken is juicy and fresh. What I do like that they're not stingy with any of their sides and utensils are available for grab.. The guy that took my order I believe his name was Michael or Miguel, and he was super friendly and answered all my questions and even suggested popular items. It's so nice to see people that enjoy their job and give you a friendly smile while you're just ordering food.

Yelp
Sanku chicken is really good.I would highly recommend to find some family anyone looking for good chicken dales and a family mill? This is the place to go

Yelp
I love their falafel, hummus, and tahini. The falafel wrap was amazing and I highly recommend it. The service was great and I appreciate the hustle. Try it out, I haven't tried the chicken but what I tried was excellent!

Yelp
Young lady named Angelica at the Glendale store was amazing. Super busy and took time to help me with my order. I had to add and remove few things and she was super patient and kind. Smiley face and offered me water. Great service.

Yelp
Friendly healthy family meal. Shout out to Angelica who is warm, friendly and patient behind the counter. It's a great choice for a quick healthy family meal. Comfortable atmosphere, clean place. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
I have been patronizing Zankou in various locations for many decades. Up until recently, their rotisserie chicken was a favorite comfort food for me. But after several orders in a row of the rotisserie chicken were either grossly undercooked or just tasted bad, I've given up on that. Tonight I tried the chicken kabobs and they were awful. They were overly herb-y and actually a bit hot spicy -- nothing like I expect chicken kabobs to taste, in fact, they didn't taste much like chicken at all. The reason why I'm giving Zankou 3 stars? The hummus, tabouli, tzatziki, and falafel were all fine.

Yelp
Love Zankou chicken! Food is good and service and the workers are nice. The only problem with this location is that all of the business owners in this shopping center must get rid of all the Uber drivers. They are gathering in the shopping center for hours and there is no parking and plus they smoke in front of the entrance door.Someone needs to say something to them ! Hopefully they can kick them out so we can find a parking instead of waiting 45 mins because of this Uber drivers.

Yelp
Very disappointed. Ordered a family meal. Chicken was terrible. Undercooked, fleshy and could not eat most of it. Had to throw most of the chicken in the garbage. I was a Zankou fan but not going back. $33 waste of money.

Yelp
I dunno. My gf loves this place, but I'm less impressed. I've ordered from them three times - the Glendale location - and the chicken has been dry and unremarkable. It's not even as good as the prepared rotisserie chicken at Ralph's. Oh well be

Yelp
They have online ordering down to a science! Fast, friendly, and so fresh! Plenty of space to eat in if you wish inside.

Yelp
Went there twice this week because their new bowl items are amazing! Tried the chicken and falafel bowl with hummus and cucumber salad and it's always a hit. Food is fresh and it makes more sense to make your own pita with the bowl instead of buying a wrap. Highly recommend, plus the service is really quick and it only gets busy for the lunch rush. Parking is a bit tough if their direct lot is full, but the ambiance is chill and the neighborhood it's in is very quiet.

Yelp
This is the absolute worst location. Every single time there is something missing from the order. I even place an order online where everything should be clearly identifiable to them. Avoid this location!

Yelp
First time back in SoCal in 5 years and was SO excited to have Zankou again. I originally ordered a few wraps and some rice the night before, unfortunately when I got home the order was not correct and was a bit disappointed obviously. The kicker was I threw my receipt away and paid with cash. I came back the next day to try and get things corrected and the manager Melissa was EXTREMELY helpful. She not only made sure to refund us for the previous error, but made sure to assist us with another order and complimented part of the meal. This type of service is in rare form nowadays, and working with Melissa was a breath of fresh air regarding caring customer service. Thank you for making the trip down and our first Zankou meal in years a wonderful experience!

Yelp
This place is really amazing. I always come here and the service is always on. The staff. Always always has a smile on their face. They are always serving with a smile. Doesn't matter if it's busy shortstaffed they are always trying their best and working as a team. All employees are super chill and super nice

Yelp
MEDIOCRE at best! Had the chicken bowl. Chicken was meh -- salad consisted of chopped pieces of this and that. For $16. A total waste of my money. Moreover the place was NOT clean. Pretty run down. They are not reinvesting any of their profit to even maintain a decent appearance. The garlic sauce that some people are raving about tasted rancid. Never again. Massis Kabob is way better. And more popular - for good reason!

Yelp
This store is something else, in the best way possible. First the food is always on point. That's what you're coming here for right? Everything is exactly how you'd want it to be. I've tried pretty much everything and have never had an issue. Proteins, veggies, carbs , sauces all as fresh as can be. The prices are fair with today's current market. The store itself has plenty of seating with I feel like lots of space given the overall small size of the building. Very little parking with narrow spots. But there's a parking lot across the street that's always available. But it's the staff that has me in awe. In general customer service in most businesses has gone down the drain. But here from cashier to management the whole team is A+. I live nearby and go here often and the staff is always kind, courteous and helpful. I came in here a couple of nights ago and I couldn't say better things about the crew. In particular I was helped by Tigran, Max, Logan, and a lady I didn't get the name of. A customer came over to Logan and the lady and being a real person who witnessed it. They were being a jackass for no good reason and being overly demanding and rude and then basically kept asking for more and more and more garlic sauce to a comical level. And the crew handled it like angels. I told Logan afterward that he had the patience of a saint to deal with it the way he did. Keep up the great work and keep hiring the way you are because it makes a big difference. See you all soon!
