Where to Order Food for Hanukkah 2023 | Eater Boston

"I partake in Chef Sarah Wade’s annual eight days of latkes celebration at both Stillwater and Sloane’s, where once Hanukkah begins there’s a daily menu of inventive latke combinations — including a dill beet version topped with citrus yogurt, pistachios, and pomegranate seeds, and horseradish cheddar latkes with chive sour cream and fried leeks — and sufganiyot in rotating flavors such as raspberry and chocolate caramel." - Erika Adams

We sat outside on their street-side patio. Our server would disappear for quite a while, but another server checked on us eventually. We had the half order of duck nachos and it was a big portion for 2 people and delicious. The weather was perfect, and the Sonoma Water made for a nice pairing.

Went here after dinner. Loved these atmosphere. Three outdoor patio is nice. Went in for drinks and conversation. Had a blues singer/ acoustic player which we really enjoyed.

Zanottis in Stillwater gets 5 stars for a college town bar. The wine list is way above average. Service is great and the food menu is full of great options for a vegetarian. I'll be coming back for sure

Google
I want to start by saying the food is very good. I’ve been a few times now and I’ve always enjoyed the food. The salmon and tzatziki crostinis are delicious and have become a favorite. The drinks I have had there have also been good, so not disappointed there. However, that being said, the service is not good. Two of us came in yesterday, Wednesday, at about 6:30. It wasn’t super busy, a few people inside and a few outside. It took a minute for one waiter to come to the table with water, and even longer for a different waiter to come back to take our food and drink order. A third waiter delivered our food, noted that we needed plates and silverware, then hurried off. We never received plates or silverware and when the first waiter finally came back, after we were done with our food, I asked for napkins. He brought back one napkin while there were two of us sitting there. Overall, a bit of a disappointing experience as the great food was overshadowed by poor service. I would also note that the women’s bathroom was completely out of toilet paper. There’s spots for two rolls of toilet paper, and there was none.

Google
This was a delightful little wine bar in the downtown area of Stillwater Texas. We had a smattering of appetizers, all of which were well prepared and in a couple of places, as you will see in the pictures, interesting visually. A great selection of wines in stock at all price points. Get a flight of 4 if you can't decide on one glass. I personally had a Maple wood smoked Old Fashioned. It is a fundamentally easy drink to create but I have found over the years difficult to execute. Mine was perfectly prepared and delivered with a flourish. Overall, if you find yourself in Stillwater Oklahoma, you must carve out some time to stop in Zannotti's.

We brought our out-of-town parents to Zannotti’s after really enjoying our first time there, but this visit fell short. Our drink order was completely lost, the food came after, but still no drinks. The waitress seemed inexperienced and didn’t notice. The manager apologized and kindly offered to comp one entree, which we appreciated. The food and atmosphere were great, but here’s the issue: they never actually removed the entree from the bill. Since they brought the credit card machine without an itemized receipt, we didn’t catch it until days later. We were understanding about the initial mistake, but not following through on the promised fix, and making it hard to verify, was disappointing and felt dishonest.

Google
I love their cocktails, port wine and duck nachos. The service is excellent. The place is cozy and welcoming. Their desserts can be terribly sweet.

Yelp
The positives: Zanotti's was nice but very busy. The waiters were all very nice and helpful. Pizzas were yummy. Plenty for one person, maybe 1 1/2 if you aren't starving. We tried the basil pesto & goat cheese crostini and the spinach artichoke dip. Both were amazing! The negatives: It was a little loud, but not unbearable sitting by a wall. I would not love if I had to sit in the middle of the room. Getting seated was also difficult, as they did not have a host stand, so we just waited by the door. My least favorite part of the evening was when we were trying to pay. They were just holding the handheld machine, so we could not take our time looking at the bill and filling out the tip. The presets were something like 20%, 25%, and 30% tips. I am not opposed to tipping that much if we received above and beyond service, but that felt very pushy for such a nice place.

Yelp
This place is a vibe. I love the decor and live music nights. Their food, though a bit pricey, is quite good, as are their drinks. I came here a couple times when I was pregnant and got great mocktails, too. My husband got the smoked old-fashioned and really enjoyed it. We like their flatbreads, the duck confit nachos are yummy and filling, the Brie en croute is delicious, and the duck trap river smoked salmon and deviled eggs is also super fun. Great date night spot or place to chill and hangout with friends.

Yelp
We took my wife there for her birthday. Lot of energy but not great if you don't like crowds. Shareable plates were great and the service was awesome. We'll be back next time in Stillwater.

Yelp
This is a beautiful, relaxing spot for a drink and delicious Italian cuisine! My boyfriend and I are not the classic college students; we hate going to bars and being in a crowded area. However, we love going out together, having a drink, and relaxing. Zanotti's is the perfect place for that! I love the classic and rustic Italian atmosphere and the spaced-out tables. I had some of the best apple cider there, and the parmesan-crusted basil pesto gnocchi was TO DIE FOR! Oh my gosh, it was amazing! My boyfriend and I left feeling very happy with our decision! My only somewhat negative comment about this place is that it's a little pricey, but the food and drinks were excellent, and the atmosphere was great.

Yelp
I went to Zannotti's on a night out with a friend traveling through. Stillwater doesn't have too many fancy restaurants, so I thought I'd impress her with this place. The service was nice and the food was pretty delicious. Lovely wine. I forgot to snap a photo of my friend's chicken wings. I think this restaurant is great for a date night or wine with friends. Prices weren't outlandish, either.

Yelp
I came to Stillwater Oklahoma on business and found this wonderful little Wine Bar. The staff is friendly, food and drinks are excellent! This place is so welcoming that I came back a second time before my trip ended. If you're ever in Stillwater Oklahoma this is definitely a place to visit. You won't be disappointed.
google avatar

Yelp
The wine menu is quite impressive and the cocktails are complex and delicious. What loses it for me here is the atmosphere. There are flies everywhere. So many, in fact, I was afraid of ordering any food. The kids behind the bar just stand there and prattle endlessly about their romantic lives and other inane gossip. Surely they could find somewhere else to socialize. I had to wait until one of them turned around to get service. Plus $30 (pre tip) for two drinks was a bit much. Overall, it's a nice place but could use some improvements.

Yelp
I was really looking forward to trying this place but it was just 'fine'. The food was nothing special but the drinks were incredible. I wish I remembered the names of all the drinks we tried (we got a few!). My favorite was a mule made with coconut rum i think... it tasted like vacation! The service was okay - all the servers take care of all the tables together, it was sometimes overwhelming with how often we were asked if we needed anything. The ambiance was home-y and comfortable.

Yelp
Zannotti's is always a favorite spot. The small plates and shareables are delicious! We love the duck confit nachos and the flatbreads. Cocktails are made with fresh ingredients and the service is solid.

Yelp
Lovely relaxed setting with some amazing finger foods to choose from. We enjoyed the outdoor seating, wine selection, and our whole experience. A great way to have a relaxing anniversary celebration or for any occasion really!

Yelp
So so good Great espresso martini and amazing food at a very reasonable price Bartender was so friendly and talented we will definitely be back anytime we visit Stillwater

Yelp
Love this place! They're selection of of drinks is awesome. All high quality liquor. Food is great too. Can't wait to go back and try more things.

Sarah B.

Yelp
Very good food, got the meat and cheese board and the flat bread pizza! Food was very fresh and filling. Good prices and a charming environment. I saw they do live music also. Will be back.

Cristyn D.

Yelp
Great food and service! Good vibe. Staff is always friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend

Yelp
Great drinks and awesome small plates. One of our favorite places in Stillwater. Less party, more sophisticated and relaxed.

Yelp
Nice relaxing atmosphere, in downtown Stillwater! Excellent menu options! Great service, and usually have live music on weekends.

Yelp
Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious! We got the Wisconsin cheese, meat, fruit, and nuts board while waiting for our friends. The blend of charcuterie was displayed beautifully and everything was delicious! This spicy red pepper jam paired perfectly with the selection. The pepperoni and Parmesan pretzel exceeded our expectations, and so did the peanut butter explosion for dessert! We were enjoying everything so much I neglected to get photos of the duck confit nachos and the crab cake. The nachos were out of this world and even our picky eater at the table enjoyed them! I order crab cakes almost any time they are an option and these we're definitely top shelf! Crispy on the outside, perfectly seasoned, and cooked to perfection. I will definitely get a photo next time because the presentation was gorgeous! I don't live in Stillwater, but I would make the hour drive just to eat here again! We had a wonderful date night with our friends and the friendly staff took great care of us and offered great advice as we made our selections!
google avatar

Mike A.

Yelp
The wine is great and the food is good too. The only thing that h0olds this place back is the time it takes to get your food. I ordered one appetizer and had to wait one hour. I didn't mind eating only because this place is so cozy and relaxing and since they added the outdoor area it has really stepped up. I just wish they would hurry up with food service.
google avatar

Mike W.

Yelp
Zannotti's is amazing! I loved the food and environment. We will definitely be eating here more often..
google avatar

Jim M.

Yelp
We just finished our first time at Zanotti's and we will definitely be back soon. Every Thursday we treat ourselves to dinner at a locally owned place if at all possible. Finally, we found one with a great drink menu, interesting shareables, and a unique dessert choices. We tried the salmon, deviled eggs, and cheese. Lobster Mac & cheese, and crab cake. All top notch.
google avatar

Holly H.

Yelp
We never got a table and didn't even stay. There's no method for determining who's next in line for a table and people cut in front of you, even if you've been there longer. So I can't comment on the drinks, the food or service.

Josh E.

Yelp
Zannotti's is one of those places that is just so close. Good in theory, good idea, good menu, just executed poorly. The most expensive wine on the menu is just mid. The drinks are always a 7/10 with prices that cause one to think they would be 10/10, and they're not. The food is usually served cold but if it was made just a little better and served warm it'd be great! The menu is wonderful, but as I said poor execution. The waiters are nice but unprofessional some times. They are so close to being an awesome restaurant!
google avatar

Garrison G.

Yelp
I'm not a drinker but my friends wanted to go, I was pleasantly surprised at how great the food was but the real shocker was the coffee. I was expecting just a normal diner black coffee, but that was one of the best cups of coffee I've had. And my friend got the mango Hawaiian pizza... it was insanely good. I got the Italian meat lovers which was also good but doesn't hold a candle to the mango one.

Tammi D.

Yelp
This place has become one of my favorites in Stillwater. The food is unique and delicious. Love the live music nights & the drinks are on point!! I don't remember all the names of the drinks but all were good! Love the Duck Nachos!

breann w.

Yelp
We love the vibes in Zannottis! We always sit at the table to the left of the door with the games and have a great time. The drinks are well crafted and is my preferred "fancy" place to get drinks in Stillwater. We normally only get the charcuterie board and are never let down. I will say sometimes the service is a little spotty and we feel forgotten sometimes but that doesn't stray us away from going again!
google avatar

Jessica R.

Yelp
First time at Zannotti's and it was such a treat. I was not a fan of the pizza , but the meatballs were to die for and the charcuterie board was good. The service and staff are kind and helpful, but it's first come first served seating which was a bit confusing. Love the ambience of the patio, the bar, and the live singing!

Bella B.

Yelp
Coziest restaurant in Stillwater! The food was delicious. We got the Mediterranean flat bread and lobster dip. I would definitely recommend this place for a date night!
google avatar

Yelp
A great place to go for a quiet drink away from the Strip. The selections rotate and they do have weekly specials (check Facebook). While I have enjoyed many a cocktail here, there are a couple things I struggle with. The first is the disorganized nature of the service. It's always been a little odd and spotty, and you never really get the same person twice in a row. At times you feel overlooked, and others you feel smothered. There's also quite a markup on bottles here, and blatant misspells on the menus. I do really enjoy the cocktails here, and try and stop in when I can. The Pyrus cocktail is divine, and I recently tried the Oklahoma peach and Holly Berry, both of which were lovely. I also recommend the spinach artichoke dip. There are a couple of kinks, but this is the best option in Stillwater for a cocktail and conversation.

John S.

Yelp
Frozen appetizers and overpriced. The service is good but the place is too crowded occasionally. No other options and Stillwater.
google avatar

Pam M.

Yelp
We were in town on business for a few days so though we'd check out their local wine bar. To start off, I tried one of their wine flights for only $12 or $15...3 or 4 at 2 oz each. You can pick the options you want. I tried their Van Duzer Pinot Noir, Whitehaven Sauvignon Blanc, Angeline Rose and Mas Fi Brut Cava. Very nice. The best part for me is their willingness to create a cocktail based on a custom request I had....I've been in love with this lavendar martini that includes both vodka and Prosecco. They didn't have lavendar but they did have violet and vavoom....it was equally as good! It is located in downtown Stillwater so very easy to find and there is plenty of street parking. They have a nice selection of food as well including appetizers like meatballs, spinach dip, meat and cheese selections, etc. They also have a variety of flatbread pizzas. I had their meatballs and it was definitely something you could do for dinner or share with a group. The sauce was yummy and I typically don't like meatballs in marinara but theirs was great. Staff was friendly and this is definitely a great little gem in Stillwater.

Yelp
This place is often forgotten about in Stillwater but it is AMAZING!! The food here is nothing less than great and good quality and the people that work there are also sooo personable and nice. The environment is very relaxed and slightly elevated without the prestigious feel. I loved my experience and will be back many more times.
google avatar

Reyhan E.

Yelp
Ambience was good, however- the service was disorganized. We had multiple servers ask if we had been served throughout the night. It was nice, but hope there is better communication within the staff in the future.

Stephanie J.

Yelp
Always great service, great food and great drinks. 100% recommend. Love this place. The atmosphere is amazing and laid back. Highly recommend!

Steve S.

Yelp
Nice spot for drinks and appetizers. The live music is a little techy for me but good service and decent wine selection. Been several times. The outdoor deck is nice even in the dead of Summer. Recommend you visit.

Barbara H.

Yelp
Loved the relaxing atmosphere and the food and drinks were great. However, the wait staff had no awareness's of their customers. Had to wait halfway through our first starter for a drink then when we wanted a second course our drinks (both water and alcohol) was dry before the wait staff came by. It was not busy at all ...two tables inside and two outside. I also am not fond of the system yo pay where you only gave an option to tip 20% or above. Won't be on my top choice list when I return to Stillwater.
google avatar

Janee' T.

Yelp
I'm extremely picky about mac and cheese...the lobster mac and cheese is to die for! I will be making the drive from Del City to Stillwater for mac and cheese and the yummy meat lovers pizza!!

Yelp
Came here on a Thursday evening around 7:30pm with my fiance and our friend. I was very excited to try this place as it's been described as one of the "classiest restaurant in Stillwater." Really enjoyed the patio, it was a nice option to dine outside. The other reviews about the servers are accurate- somehow too much and not enough attention at the same time. It's seat yourself (something we didn't know and stood awkwardly at the entrance for awhile) and it took about 10 minutes for menus and then another 10 to order drinks. I was expecting more emphasis or at least information on the wine menu since it's advertised as a "wine bar" but the server(s) didn't make any recommendations or anything so we decided to go with cocktails. They are more reasonably priced ($10-12) compared to common brands of wine that you can get at the grocery store for half as much as are on the menu. We each got 3 different types of mules- the regular Moscow, the Mexican and the Cider mule and honestly all of them tasted very similarly. The duck nachos were fabulous. Highly recommend and look exactly like the picture on the website. Luckily we ordered that to tide us over because about an hour passed before they acknowledged there had been "some confusion in the kitchen" and our order of flatbreads and spanakopita were never fulfilled. 2 of the 3 serves were extremely apologetic and comped the food for making us wait so long which was greatly appreciated because even with the flatbreads and spanakopita comped, the bill still ended up being around $85 with tip. The buffalo chicken flatbread was delicious and the Hawaiian was good, but just tasted and looked like a BBQ chicken pizza. They are personal round pizzas, not rectangular flatbreads. The spanakopita was nothing special- tasted like the boxed ones you can get in a frozen foods section at the grocery store. It's definitely pricier than any other place in town, but the only patio, decent/interesting cocktails, above average tasting food and intriguing dessert menu will keep this place on our rotation for special occasions in the future.

Yelp
Zanotti's has a volume problem. This has been an issue for a while, but I've finally decided to abandon all efforts at making the best of it. The last time I went in there was Valentine's day; the place was packed on top of having live music, and the normally [minutely] quieter backroom was closed. The live music was set loud enough to carry over the noise of the usual din of 50+ people. Sat next to my friend at the bar, and was literally reading her lips half the time, b/c I couldn't hear her. Shouting at companion I've come to talk to = no fun. By the time we left I was a stressed-out mess. Plan to avoid Z's altogether in the future, and suggest to ownership to rethink sound management. Some thoughts from the WP food critic on the noise problem in restaurants: https://www.wbur.org/hereandnow/2019/01/24/restaurants-getting-too-loud?fbclid=IwAR2QVfup4cand1wbnhpmuXLevsTWUVVszo8_Pmpbm5j3uh-Ruat05D5Jtvo On the up side: food menu is def. improved.

Yelp
I love hanging out here. I like the food. I don't drink much, but what I've had, I like. Just make sure you have more time than you think you need. They have the wine bar thing down, it's just the kitchen is dreadfully slow. I wish they just let us have a carafe of water for the table so I don't have to take my glass to the bar to refill. I'll take slow if it means I get the duck nachos.

Heather R.

Yelp
Great place for fun drinks and apps. Yummy menu. Small inside but I hear their outside patio area is nice in the warmer months. E excellent staff!

Mike M.

Yelp
Good food and great atmosphere. Awesome bartender and the service is not fast but comfortable.
google avatar

Claire P.

Yelp
A little pricy, but fantastic for an evening out with friends. It's the most upscale bar in the area and a welcome relief from the usual college bar. Most of the clientele is older, giving it a more austere adult feel and the service, if a little overeager, is top notch.
google avatar

Shawn A.

Yelp
I love coming to Zannotti's for the drinks, atmosphere, and great conversation! The staff are all super attentive and are always chatty and kind. If you have a specific drink in mind that you don't see on the menu, they make it no problem! The food and drinks are fantastic, I love being able to come try new things! One of the best places in town, hands down.

Richard S.

Yelp
An interesting place. Their wine list is actually pretty good (with nice selections from places like Chile and the Willamette Valley), and some of the food is okay. The wine flights are nice to get when you're there with a couple other people; you can have little tastings and discuss your choices. Like most places in Stillwater, though, it's a rough approximation of the type of place it's trying to be. I've been to many "classy" wine bars, and this is the very first such place I've ever seen that serves nachos. Their decor is head-scratchingly incongruous, including things like a newspaper collage in the shape of a handgun, various wine varietal names framed and hung in a row, and random Homegoods-type objects strewn throughout. Their Margherita pizza was drenched in more balsamic vinaigrette than I'd probably consumed in my life up to that day. As usual, the Stillwatrian chefs here have missed the point; pizza lightly drizzled with vinaigrette is tasty, but if the vinaigrette has literally created a pool around the pizza, you've put on too much. They occasionally have a guitarist or jazz combo there on the weekends, and they've been pretty good musicians, so that's a selling point. So, a fairly good place with lots of good wine selections, but with many little things that need to be ironed out. And if you don't believe me, look at the attached ad that mentions "Pino Grigio." You should always be a bit wary of a wine bar that can't spell "Pinot"!
google avatar

Caroline B.

Yelp
Great charcuterie board and pizza flatbreads to die for. Nice selection of wine and fizz. Outside eating and good service get there asap

Yelp
This has become our Friday night place to go. We enjoy the food for sure. The deviled eggs are our favorite. We have tried just about everything on the menu. There's nothing we don't like. It's a nice quiet place for those over 21 to go have a drink and a good meal.

Katie S.

Yelp
The management was okay but the staff was horrible. We were very unhappy with the quality of our and asked for it to be comped. The server responded by yelling and making a scene in the restaurant. Very unprofessional and a bad look.

Yelp
Visited on: multiple dates from 2013 to present This is my favorite bar in Stillwater that I've been to so far (and as of this writing I've been to just about every one that I know of except Cross-Eyed Cricket and the promising Gatsby's). In fact, this is probably the only bar in Stillwater that I actually enjoy going to. In contrast to the other Stillwater bars that mostly just serve beer, Zannotti's has a wide variety of delicious drinks, not just wine but also cocktails and mixed drinks. (Okay okay, they also have beer, and theirs include more exotic varieties than can be found at the other bars.) It's nice and clean and not too loud inside, so I can converse at sub-yelling volumes. Okay, this might make me an old fuddy-duddy, but what's wrong with wanting to not sit in filth as I sip on an alcoholic drink that isn't beer and actually tastes good? Here's a list of everything I've tried thus far. I only wrote comments for the drinks I found to be outstanding one way or the other; everything else was just okay or otherwise not particularly memorable. White Wines: - Toad Hollow "Risque" White Wine - Riesling - Wente Riverbank, Monterey - Hogue Late Harvest Riesling - Secco Italian Bubbles Moscato - this is the only white wine I've tried that I really enjoyed; it's really sweet and good! - Folie à Deux Ménage a Trois Red Wine: - Velvet Devil Merlot Cocktails: - dry Gordon's gin martini, lightly shaken - this was quite strong and didn't suit my tastes, but it might suit yours - dry vodka martini, lightly shaken - better than the gin martini, but still pretty strong - Manhattan - yup, it was too strong, not for me - Sparkling Pomegranate - very good - Aussie Bride (Smirnoff Passion Fruit Vodka, Stirrings Peach Liqueur & La Marca Prosecco) - Pink Truck Pink - Classic Amaretto Sour - El Diablo Rojo - Strawberry Lemonade (Parrot Bay Strawberry Rum, Strawberry Lemonade, and Fresh Strawberries) - this was very good Besides drinks, Zannotti's also serves small eats and desserts, though I haven't really tried their food. They also have movie date nights and fancy wine dinners. This seriously might be the classiest place in Stillwater.
