It's not easy making last minute reservations at Michelin-star restaurants. I managed to get one here, at the Chef's table, and was quite happy with the dinner experience. When you're dining alone, it's actually more interesting to be able to watch the action in the kitchen.
I chose the gastronomic menu which features fifteen dishes. I am a raw seafood lover but wanted to try something different. The dishes were rich in flavor and texture, some flavors of sauces/condiments surprisingly strong. Fortunately, I had chosen a very fresh wine which helped counterbalance.
The two desserts were a delicious surprise!
The service was very fast, at times even too much so. Initially, I thought it was because I was dining alone and not talking, but then noticed a couple in the main restaurant was exaxtly at the same pace. The waiting staff lacked some professionalism (which can be improved by training) but I felt they were all genuinely kind persons - and kindness goes a long way with me.
So, overall, a very enjoyable evening and I'd happily dine here again on a future trip.
