Filipino-American Street Food Restaurant Zarate Kitchen Opens at Pullman Yards in Kirkwood | Eater Atlanta

"A Filipino-American street-food pop-up run by brothers Marcus and Michael Fernandez that moved into a long-term residency at the Pullman Yards restaurant Dailies and Sides. Expect Filipino street classics—sisig and adobo tacos, lumpia, arroz a la valenciana, and Pinoy elote dressed in seasoned butter with Tajin citrus ranch and corona cheese—alongside balikbayan combo boxes that include a choice of slow-brined, soy buttermilk fried chicken or grilled pork skewers with sides of pancit noodles, charred vegetables, and rice. Many dishes are inspired by recipes taught by the brothers’ grandmother, whose neighborhood store on a street in the Philippines provided the pop-up’s name. After debuting during the district’s monthly night markets, the operation now serves from the patio at the Rogers Street restaurant on most midweek and weekend days (commonly Wednesday–Sunday; some listings note Wednesday–Saturday) and fully takes over the Dailies and Sides menu on Mondays and Tuesdays." - Beth McKibben

The food is maraming sarap (very delicious). I’m Filipina and my Balikbayan plate was gorgeously plated and everything I wanted it to be. Marcus brings creativity and modernity to traditional dishes while elevating the expected flavors. And the house made ube ice cream is divine. I can’t wait to eat his food again soon!

One of the best food experiences I have had! The food was perfect, the drinks were perfect. Pure Art by Marcus who is the owner, he is so friendly and literally the best cook and host! He went out of his way and cooked us food from scratch upon request at a late hour. So worth it! Highly recommend checking out his wednesday pop-ups!

I could not recommend this place to enough people in Atlanta. The owner carefully curated this menu with all of his love for cooking and food from back home. We tried a couple different menu items and there was absolutely NO crumbs. The owner was gracious enough to give us a whole run down of the menu and even backstory behind the name and some of the foods. We also had a couple different cocktails and each were unique and delicious. I’ll be traveling from Kennesaw often to eat and drink and this spot.

Went on a Friday night and the vibes were on point. The atmosphere was up beat and got the sense that all the locals love coming to hang out here. The food was really good and the owner took his time to explain the menu and what inspired him to make each dish. The cocktails were really good too. Will definitely be back soon.

Ordered delivery from UberEATS and I have never had Filipino food before, but it was AMAZING! Chicken was crispy and delicious; a new flavor for me, but very tasty. Spring rolls were also good, and you get a bunch of them. I was getting bored of the same old food in Decatur, so I will be ordering again soon! Also, the prices are great for what you get.

Without a doubt best new spot in the neighborhood! Skip fish monger…. Get better cocktails better service, and the best Filipino street food in Atlanta. Great people, great food. A must enjoy any day of the week! Get the pork belly!

What a pleasant surprise to find a Filipino food restaurant at Pullman Yards! I tried soooo many things from the menu - Pinoy Elote "pelote", sisig pork tacos, vegetarian pansit, hot dog, BBQ chicken "manok", BBQ pork "baboy", roasted pork belly "liempo", the lemonade, and the alcoholic ube drink. I had a bunch of picky teenagers with me who had never tried Filipino food before and the gobbled it all up and loved every bite! I will for sure be eating here every time I come to the area. Love their decor, love their vibes, staff is sooooooo sweet, friendly, and attentive - really great energy. I can tell they cook their food with love.
