Za's on Devine

My Fiance and I have been communicating with the restaurant about having our rehearsal dinner here. We tried it out for the first time tonight and it was great! Service was great and food was amaaazzing! Our server was Sydney W and she was friendly and attentive. We made the decision to have our rehearsal dinner here because of our experience and we know our guests are going to love it as much as we did

Za's was really good! It's a little more upscale than your basic pizza joint, and the portions aren't huge, but it definitely substitutes quality for quantity. The pizza and breadsticks tasted great, and I loved the homemade lemonade as well. It might not be my go-to pizza restaurant, but I'll probably come back the next time I want something a little more debonair.

i loved it so much! i especially recommend the make your own pizza and breadsticks. my whole family loved it. one of us enjoyed their black pepper. just straight black pepper 😊

Za's is a great place to get good tasting pizza in a reasonable amount of time. Their spinach dip and pita are amazing. Our server Oilivia was very attentive, carried herself professionally, and always had a smile on her face. The indoor seating setup is a little odd and broken up. The outdoor seating is plentiful and more cohesive. Parking is a bit difficult. However, we will definitely be back.

Ordered a pizza for dinner and once I got home saw how poorly made it was. There was hardly any cheese on the pizza, the toppings were just thrown all over and the crust was burned. I called to let them know how awful the pizza was and was offered a remake. That was a nice gesture, but we live 30 minutes away from the restaurant. The guy that answered the phone (was very nice and helpful) spoke to his manager, who told him to tell me that it was a busy part of the day and they didn't have time to talk to me to figure out a resolution for the issue and that I needed to call back later tonight or tomorrow. That's poor customer service on the part of the manager, but we will see if they offer an acceptable resolution... UPDATE- manager called back. Refunded our money and gave us a gift card. We'll give them another shot...

Parking lot was crazy and almost left. Glad I waited and didn't. Took us line to get a parking spot then it was to stay is at a table. The wait staff came quickly and attended to our order. My only complaint was the check in and getting the check at the end. The spinach artichoke dip is so yummy. Got a 14" pizza for 2 of us and it was enough with left overs.

Our family had Za's for dinner on a Saturday night. The place was already packed at 5:15, which is great for them. The only sad part was that they did not have anymore high chairs left for our toddler, so we tried one of their booster seats. We tried the deviled eggs - very basic and middle of the road. We would definitely skip those next time. But the chicken bacon ranch calzone and the delicious pizza, made us forget all about those eggs. We will definitely be back for pizza and calzones!

This was our first time dining at this place. Colette was our waitress and she was very attentive. My son's pizza was not correct and she quickly fixed the issue and gave us a discount. Finding a place where customer service is superb is rare. We definitely have plans to return.

5 Stars - Totally Worth the Drive! I stopped by ZA on Devine and ordered a small pizza with cheese, eggs, pepperoni, and mushrooms. Hands down--one of the best pizzas I've ever had! It was perfectly gooey, cheesy, and saucy, with flavors that burst in every bite. I live over an hour and a half away, and honestly, I'd make the trip again just for this. Can't wait to see what's on the menu tomorrow!

Stopped by for a late lunch today. Chicken was super dry, sauce very bland. They used to be so good. Idk what happened ‍

We ordered takeout for an early dinner...Caesar with chicken and what I thought was a Caprese salad, at least on the menu it's listed as such. The chicken that came with the Caesar was so heavily seasoned, it was inedible. And what was supposed to be a Caprese salad was four and a half thinly sliced, small tomatoes sprinkled with mozzarella and a bit of basil, sprinkled with more of the seasoning that made it also inedible. Nothing like the picture of the Caprese on the menu. What a disappointment! Maybe their pizzas are the thing to order. Don't know if I'll go back to give it another go...

I was invited to Za's on Devine part of a event. They have a parking lot in front of their restaurant. But if you cannot find parking there is also parking on the side streets. When I went in I told the hostess that we were part of the event. She then showed us where to go. There was a private room to the left of the restaurant. We then sat down at a table the waitress came right over and told us that we could go up for food shortly the staff was going to be putting out the food on along a long table. The staff was very polite to us and asked us if we needed anything to let them know. I could only comment on this in this review on what was offered to us from this event. They had a unlimited Pizza Buffet cookies and brownies and salad also they had pasta, sweet tea and water. We weren't able to order off the menu. But these items that were offered for this event we were told that they do have them on the menu as well as other things that weren't offered. I started off with the salad it was not bad at all it was fresh and tasted delicious. After moving on from that I moved on to the pizza it was also very delicious and unique with different types of toppings that they offered on it tasted very delicious as well as homemade. They also had dessert chocolate chip cookies they were a perfect touch. I am going to have to come back to this place and try their regular menu since there event that we had there was so good.

The food was good but they forgot some toppings. The service was just ok. I think it could be better, but they were a little slow with getting over to our to us. The ambiance is really nice. This would be the perfect place to have a date night or family dinner.

The food was DELICIOUS. I got a garden salad and it was packed with veggies which I loved. The pizza was also very tasty. My favorite part of the pizza was the crust. It had such a good yeast flavor to it. So so good! I got the Carbonara which was also yummy but a bit on the salty side. Not something I felt I could eat the whole plate of because of that. But still tasty. I feel like that was probably an accident and not how it would taste every time. We were seated quickly and our server was very kind. The food didn't take too terribly long which was also nice since I did have my toddler with me.

Brianna was the most lovely server I've had in a long time, anywhere. She was so attentive, friendly, down to earth, and genuine. My 13 year old daughter and I went for a much needed dinner together, just the two of us. Brianna helped make our evening even more special. On top of the amazing service, the food was SO good and sitting outside felt amazing with the most perfect atmosphere. We truly had the best evening and are both so glad we chose Za's. I have been going to Za's for 25+ years, and my daughter for as long as she was able to be toted along. We will always be Za's people, but tonight restored something new in and exciting in us, and we will go back again sooner than later. That's thanks to Brianna (the best server), the staff, and the great food-especially the ranch!

I ordered the carbonara pasta and breadsticks and the food was hot and flavorful. The carbonara is not super traditional, but it was really tasty. I believe it has cream in it, which is not the traditional way to cook it. That being said, it was tasty. Two sauces came with the breadsticks and the lighter colored sauce was way better and tasted somewhat of Pesto, whereas the other sauce was too sweet and some kind of marinara. I ordered door dash, so I can't speak to the in-person experience, but I enjoyed the food.

This was an absolute FAILURE. Colleague and I were I. Town for training so we scoped out several pizza joints in the Columbia area. They opened at 11:00 a.m. We got there at 11:18 a.m., were seated immediately. Hostess was kind. We ordered soft drinks and each ordered a personal/small pizza. By 12:12 p.m. the pizzas still hadn't been served. We got up to ask for the manager. We were then told it was another 6-10 minutes. Not acceptable. No apology, no excuse provided. If there were issues, should have shared. We left without lunch. Sadly as two pizzaholics, we won't be back. Absolutely unacceptable lack of service. #wellneverknowthequalityortaste

Brie was the best server we've had! We love coming to Za's as it's just a walk away from our home and always good!

Za's has been around Columbia since the end of the last century, and the fact that it's still operating says good things. And there are a lot of good things here starting with the people who work here. We showed up one recent evening with a couple of handicapped people as our guests. Rendell could not have treated any of us with any greater dignity and courtesy; he was a gem in getting us seated conveniently and quickly. And he made sure our server Collette was every bit as kind and helpful. We are much appreciative. Za's has always been fun to some degree because it has a lot of shaded outside seating (and dogs are welcome). But it also has a good beer and wine list and some good food including lots of varieties of brick-oven pizzas. Yum. We especially loved the charred okra, spinach and artichoke dip, the hummus and a couple of the aforementioned pizzas. We came away very happy. Really the only downside seems to be the lack of parking given the small lot and businesses in the area. If you drop by please say hello to Rendell.

Service was great! I wish the restaurant was a bit larger and had more seating. They had an amazing deal for restaurant week- appetizer, entree, and dessert for $24! I had the French onion soup, made my own pizza, and had chocolate cake. Drinks were delicious too!

I enjoyed it after a glitch for seating. When I got there, there was no one seating anyone from the hostess stand. The line grew to 10 people patiently waiting for someone to take us to a table. The restaurant had only 6 people seated in the whole place, the rest of the tables were empty. Someone was asleep at the wheel - so to say. Bad way to start. My server was excellent, attentive, easy to find. The food had good variety and was tasty too.

This was my first time visiting years since before the pandemic. This had always been a favorite spot 9f mine and my coworkers for happy hours and after work special occasions. Today me and 3 other coworkers visited for lunch and we immediately remembered why we love this place. Great service, great food choices and great food and the Playlist today was amazing! We are already planning on coming back for lunch and hopefully happhappy hours again. Highly recommend this spot!

These people are awesome! Kinda just ended up here and they made me and the SO feel very accepted! Really just came for drinks but after seeing how great staff was and how the place looked decided some food was also in order. The layout of the place certainly lends itself to parties or intimate table, either way I can highly recommend lunch or dinner!

Discovered this gem as a referral by a friend of ours. Had lunch here today and may I say this is a gem in downtown Columbia! The service, the atmosphere, the food was simply outstanding. I highly recommend this place if you're downtown Columbia and in need of food, you won't go wrong!

Had a fantastic pizza with great service. The only thing to improve the pizza would be a little crispier crust. I could not pick it up. Used a knife and fork.

Terrible service, worse food. Lackluster Caesar salad with limp lettuce was followed by "zucchini noodle pasta." What arrived was just sliced zucchini with marinara sauce thrown on top. When we tried to send it back, the waitress told us "that's just how they make it here." and walked away. What happened? Does Za's no longer employ a chef?? Will never be eating here again.

This was my first time dining in at Za's and the waitress was so sweet. It was right before dinner so it wasn't busy which I prefer because 4-5 pm I can never find parking so we came around 3 pm for Pi day. I love their cauliflower crust pizza so that's always my go to. My daughter got a kids cheese pizza and I got the choose four and got sausage pepperoni and feta cheese and bacon as my toppings. It was $15 which isn't bad for cauliflower crust pizza and it's a decent size compared to others I've had. With crush red peppers it was so good. My baby loved hers because she finished the whole pizza lol and hers was only $5. I'm definitely going to always come when I need a pizza. The establishment is also clean and well kept from what I could see. I can't remember my waitress name but she was really sweet and helped me with pricing of the pizza I chose because it was different from online which we figured was from a technical error that she mentioned to her manager. If you have a chance go check them out on Devine.

I have heard about Za's for years. My expectations were exceeded! We were able to get a table easily and the service was spectacular - fast, not too invasive, just right for a friend that I had not seen in years. I decided to try the pizza, since that's what I'd heard about so much and ordered an 8" cheese pizza. I lived in NYC for many years, so I know good pizza, but I also am not a pizza snob and this pizza was really nicely done. Just perfectly fired in the oven and the right amount of sauce and cheese. The 8" is perfect for 1. My friend ordered the pear salad, subbing out the chicken for salmon and it looked delicious. There are DEFINITELY enough options on the menu that everyone you dine with will find something they love. Next time, I can't wait to try the wood fired wings, but I was so satisfied by lunch that I now have many reasons to return!

Blackened chicken pasta was so good! Cute location and cozy ambiance. Everyone was super nice and helpful.

Meh. Service and food is hit or miss. It was super loud the last time we were in there and I asked the server if they could turn down the music a bit and she told me the manager preferred it loud so they didn't adjust. Whatever. It's not a bad spot but the food and service are just average. They need more pasta choices...only have angel hair options for every pasta dish? Mix in some penne or rigatoni at least.

Hi! Top notch as my daddy use to say when something was excellent! Lol. Food is yummy! I ordered the 8 inch veggie pie w cauliflower crust. Excellent! Service & staff are exceptional! Ambience is calming, upscale vibe l w/ good music! 5 stars!

Stopped in for a lunch and to my surprise it wasn't busy or crowded. I enjoy the pizza here. The flavors of the sauce is so good, & the cheese and toppings are good too. I ordered the choose 4 toppings. The toppings were delicious. I tried the meatball sliders, and they were good. The meatball sliders were better than I expected. The bread was soft with a hint of sweetness and the meatball sauce was delicious and the meat it self had a good subtle flavor where it all came together so well. We also ordered bread sticks, they were cut into thin strips and were good as well. The sauces, marinara and basil pesto, was delicious and accompanied the breadsticks as well. The Caesar salad was disappointing. The Caesar dressing lacked flavor and it was extremely bitter. The bourbon street blues cocktail was so delicious and made to perfection! Parking wasn't too bad because it was not crowded. Customer service was just okay. The hostess made a funny look when we walked in the door I guess because I was struggling to get in the door with my son, his bag, & etc. Our waitress was extremely slow at times. She was gone for a few while we waited to place our order. She was nice though. The pizza and the cocktails make it worth the visit!

We were passing through for the night and found this place and decided to give them a try. I had the BLT Chicken Salad and my husband had an 8" pepperoni and onion pizza. He loved the pizza. It was the perfect size for one. My salad was large, but the chicken was really dry. Our server offered to get me another one, but they were so busy I didn't want to wait. She was kind enough to take 25% off of our ticket. Not expected but appreciated. The salad was loaded with bacon and tomatoes. The romaine was really sweet too. The house made ranch was great.

Let's see; reasonably priced pasta offerings, prepared well, tasty cream sauce, glass of bubbly (Rose please), wait/kitchen staff solid, clean bathrooms.... Interesting to have met Justin Strauss/Columbia Craft Brewery....either his Mom or Grandmother was a Boozer from Newberry County....always a small world and possibly a long line cousin.... "Cheers Sir" Lots of food competition located on the Devine Street corridor, please place Za's on your list....

Got a tip off on the BLT salad from Fred that works at the mattress store next door. It was actually really good. The Gorgonzola cheese was a great add and the dressing was yummy. My partner got the BBQ pizza which he said was good but he also didn't finish it. The service was wonderful for my business partner and I. As for the ambiance, there was light music playing and the AC was on high which I appreciated since it's been so darn hot this August.

My absolute go to for pizza ! Best pizza in town :) I would recommend, great place for family dinner .

I visited Za's on yesterday with a group of about 30-35 and the cus service from the staff especially Jalen was amazing! The food was great and fresh 10/10! definitely recommend!

We went on a Saturday, mid afternoon so it wasn't too busy . Service was fine. The restaurant is cute, more upscale than a "pizza joint" if you know what I mean. The lasagna was good, and a hearty portion, but a little pricey I thought for $18 with no side at all . The pizza was also good, they use ground sausage not the weird sliced stuff you get in some places in town - I am not a fan of that stuff. We will definitely go back! I look forward to trying some of the other dishes.

If you're going to get 2 bottles of wine- get a new glass with the new bottle. The devine pizza is my favorite and it's delicious. So 4 stars. BUT after a long hard Friday we went for 2 bottles of wine and 2 different flavors (both still white wine) so we didn't think getting a new glass would matter. Well the second bottle of wine was not drinkable. It was actually disgusting. I asked what the wine policy was and we got half off. Which is great it's more than what I expected. BUT APPARENTLY... if we would have just gotten new wine glasses the waiter would have let us try before we buy. Would have still been super awkward but it will save you $26. (Same bottle at total wine is $11). But the pizza is good and I did think we were going to get totally screwed. Still love Zas

Reservation was 6:30p. Seated promptly. Did not receive our first drinks until 715p. Three of the drink orders waiter came back and said they were out of it. No waitress until after we received our appetizers. Friends ordered the Cajun Blackened Chicken. No flavor. They were embarrassed to ask for salt pepper or old bay seasoning. I ordered the lasagna. Waitress came back and said they were out. I ordered the meatballs. My friends in Hilton head cook better meatballs at home fresh. The waitress was sweet as apple pie but she was horrible in terms of remembering anything. Clearly unable to multitask. Quality of everything has gone way down hill since I lived here 2 years ago.

Is so hard to place a order by phone we like ti place our order by phone but is so frustrating because we have to call multiple times because phone is not being pick up this happens often since we order here a lot ....

Za's is a pretty good spot. I've gone there several times and once for a Yelp event. They've got the good ranch and that generally keeps me coming back. My recent venture, however, was soo good it is review-worthy. I got a small pizza with artichokes, tomatoes, and smoked cheese. Listen...it's been a full week and I'm still thinking about how good it was, especially when fresh. The prices can be a bit higher than neighboring places, but I think they do a really good job of making up for that with quality eats. I've only tried pizza and salad here so I will pop in soon for some pasta.

I've heard great things about this place that I had to come check it out. Parking was plenty and the wait since we came in early was easy! But from what I've heard it gets pretty busy. We did have to wait around a while so wish that was different but other than that the wings we got were so yummy without the sauce and the side sauce was an added flavor. The pizza had great toppings half was Canadian bacon, pepperoni and Italian sausage and the other half was pepperoni olives and artichoke. Hope to come back already this place was delicious! Can't wait to try their drinks

Visited during a beautiful warm evening in early March--had to be high 70s. We had attempted to visit the Hickory Tavern right down the road unfortunately they had a 30-minute wait and no seating available at the bar. Just guessing but they looked under-staffed due to the many uncleared tables witnessed. So we moved on to Za's on Devine. We were quickly seated, however it was right next to the live act for a Friday evening the Saxophone player. We tried, but had to request that our server move us outside. Nothing against the Sax player, while adroit and artistic, he was substantially too loud for my taste. We enjoyed his dexterous playing but from 50 feet away! Our server was very helpful and fully understood. I enjoyed the Whitehaven Savignon Blanc. The meatball sliders were so tasty I had to allow the bod to be kicked out of Ketosis...yum! I tried to get back on track with the Brussel Sprout app as an entree but I admit the sweetness was also not part of my Keto plan, but succulent none the less. We also enjoyed a small pizza. Skip Hickory and try Za's on Devine!

I've passed by this place many a time to go to Arabesque next door. But I enjoy a good Brick Oven/wood-fire pizza, so I thought I'd give Za's a try. The Cajun Green beans are great. They are blistered from the fire, but still have some crunch (not cooked to mush) and the seasoning is tasty. The Napa pizza was good. I'll definitely order it again. It was definitely made even more delicious by the addition of perfectly crumbled bacon. Yum! And I love baby Arugula, so that combined with the lemony oil drizzled on top was just perfection. So why 4 stars and not 5? I'm putting this squarely on the kitchen. The pizza was good, but crust isn't flavorful enough on its own to make me want to eat it. I actually asked for a side of marinara to dip my crust in, didn't end up eating much of it. Plus, they were super busy - but it took over an hour to get my food. My Green beans (appetizer) came out at same time as my entree. So I definitely think there was maybe some poor time management in the kitchen. But my waitress was nice, and continued to check on me, so I wasn't mad at her at all.

Food and drinks were great and atmosphere was excellent. Service was very good even during a rush. Would return any day of the week.

Unfortunately cannot recommend this place any longer. Have been coming here since they opened but hadn't been in a while. We used the Yelp wait list and when we arrived were told they no longer used it. We had to be added to the paper list and it took about 30 minutes to get a table. Took over an hour to get our food and when it arrived, the pizzas barely had any toppings. Server was nice but clearly having to cover multiple stations. Took over 2 hours for a dinner of salad and two 8" pizzas.

Excellent. Service was good. Food was good. Maybe the best calzone I've had in years! Will be back.

This pizza goes! The crust was light but still enough chew, very very good. The roasted pear salad with champagne vinaigrette was the truth. Can't wait to get back and try more dishes.

Great atmosphere. They have a parking lot which is always a plus. We ordered wings, cheese sticks and a calzone. The wings were were cooked to perfection. The Cheese sticks had the best sauce paired with it! I forgot what my waitress called it but it wasn't a marinara, it was something else. Our waitress said they make it in-house. I also ordered a calzone. I think it was the ranch, chicken and bacon calzone and that too was phenomenal. I'll definitely be back! I can't wait to try other food options on their menu.

this is the second time we orderd. This time we have 2 oz salmon and nor orzo for salmon orzo sals with no capers or any other toppings advertised! Husbands chicken carbonara is 1/4 size less or more than 6 months ago!

Don't sleep on visiting this spot for a sports game! Enjoyed a nice slice while catching the final 4, go cocks!

Love there pizza reminds me of the tea Italian pizza I'm use to in france it's light the cheese is fresh

We ordered from door dash and had it delivered to our hotel. The meal had promise but what we received was not great. The 8" traditional pizza with numerous toppings was decent, good flavor but cold. Not necessarily a restaurant issue. The pasta carbonara could easily have been voted the least appetizing looking dish in the upstate. It was awful. No care was taken in the prep of this meal - large chicken pieces were awkwardly pulled or ripped apart. The amount of cream was overwhelming. This was not a recipe, but an awkward compilation of ingredients that just didn't work. No effort was made to create a cohesive dish. The salad was small but satisfying for the crunch and freshness. The garlic bread was another mess - half burned, ripped apart, and not a pleasure to eat. Once again both Door Dash and the restaurant failed us. Staying at a hotel people!! Even when specifically stated in instructions for the need for napkins , utensils, etc., yields nothing. Tiresome.

It's hard to find food on a low salt diet in Columbia. The problem is most places have preseasoned their food and sauces before serving. Za's hit the spot today when I ordered their salmon without seasoning! I squeezed some lemon on top and it had a great taste and was perfectly cooked. The salad was great also! They brought me some oil & red wine vinegar (I requested) to put on top and it was excellent. I had them separate them as I love more red wine vinegar than oil. Great meal!
