"Zaya Thai Pantry, a new restaurant in Danville, opened in the former Tower Grille space. It’s from chef and owner Yanika Yawikham, who hails from Chang Mai, and serves a mix of Thai classics alongside a street food menu and full bar. The restaurant is gearing up for a grand opening on Thursday, July 13." - Dianne de Guzman

We just had a really lovely brunch at Zaya Thai downtown! Very pretty, thoughtfully designed interior and a small cheery patio. The menu has some delicious elevated classics like brown butter pancakes with beautiful fresh fruit, several types of eggs Benedict, and innovative modern Thai fusion dishes. I've been there for lunch and dinner before and enjoyed the elegant food and ambiance. You can tell that they put a lot of thought and care into each dish and the decor. Seems like they just introduced brunch about a month ago, and I wanted to share with Easter and Mother's Day coming up in case anyone was looking for a new option! Also, the owners are super nice and have a wonderful inspirational story. All in all, we had a really pleasant experience and wanted to share.

Interested in having brunch but want to try something different? How about having Thai for brunch? This is our first visit at Zara Thai Pantry and it is such a good find. The food here tastes authentic and flavorful - the crab omelette is just as it tastes in Thailand! There’s also Tom Yum with noodle if you are up for something hot. Next time we will come for dinner and try the famous cocktails.

Awesome food and service! Zaya Thai Pantry is a lively bistro. Out group of 3 sat outside and had cocktails/wine. We had avocado toast to share. Zaya’s adds a bit of heat to it just as I do at home. Our group had eggs Benedict with the red curry hollandaise (Yum!!) and crab omelet. We tried mango and sticky rice as well as fried banana with coconut ice cream. I’m not a banana dessert fan but I would order this again. Service was top notch. Both Zachary and Yanicka came to check on us. Our group will definitely be back to try all the other menu items.

I’d say that Zaya Thai Pantry is a charming spot with a clean, modern aesthetic and well-thought-out interior design. The sleek furniture (especially the chairs) and overall layout give it a fresh, inviting feel. There’s also a small patio area outside - even though it’s set in the parking lot, it’s a nice option when the weather cooperates in Danville. The service stood out the most. The staff was accommodating and responsive, especially when I asked for the order to be ready on time - they handled it perfectly. Kudos! As for the food, it was decent but didn’t leave a strong impression. The pineapple fried rice with shrimp was just average. I was nicely presented but lacking that extra depth of flavor. The fried tofu, while plated attractively, was a bit over-fried and came out crunchier than expected. Did not try the American-Thai menu, so we’ll have to come back and maybe then may improve the rating. Overall, a pleasant dining experience with excellent service and a stylish atmosphere, though the food could use a bit more finesse to match the rest.

My husband & I had a wonderful brunch this Sunday. Relaxing & welcoming! The menu has more a nice range of delicious choices. Crab omelette & maple pecan French toast were our choices. I’m excited to head back soon to try more!

Google
Danville’s little secret spot for great food, drinks, and atmosphere. We’ve been there a few times and every time we’ve had great service and food. I’ve taken guests there and we all left the restaurant very pleased. Great for business lunches and date nights, but also family friendly.

We went there on a Saturday evening. Reservations were pretty smooth, we had booked a table for 9. I completely enjoyed the Siam sour cocktail here, rest were very average. The food here was flavourful however we asked for spice level 3 which turned out pretty damn spicy, I have a damn good threshold for spicy food but this one burnt my stomach later. The khow soi curry was good however the chicken served was too bland and just a boiled piece of meat. Overall, I will rate this place a 3.

If you want delicious authentic Thai food then look no further! Zaya Thai is our go to every Tuesday and we never get less than exceptional service and mouth watering food. If you like Thai ice tea- it’s the best I’ve ever had. The coffee is just as delicious. They have a small but mighty happy hour menu Sun- Thurs 5pm-7pm. I HIGHLY recommend you come and dine at this hidden gem!

Yelp
I got to try food at Zaya Thai in January 2025 and I was blown away. They take a creative approach to traditional Thai cuisine while not forgetting the conventional cooking techniques. The beef short rib with Khao Soi was something I never saw in other restaurants as I believe it's their creation, and the meat was melty in my mouth, even my 7-year-old son loved it while he's not generally a meat-lover. Everything else was great as well, thank you for all the kind hosts at Zaya Thai!

George S.

Yelp
Great place for date night. They do have Happy Hour specials at their bar. Contemporary decor with a Chic vibe. This Thai place serves pretty good food. I did take a star away due to the deceptive menu items. For example, we ordered the Pumpkin Curry. In most Thai restaurants, the assumption is that when you select your protein, it's included in the pricing. Here, it's the opposite. When you order Pumpkin Curry, it's essentially vegetarian. If you want to add a protein, it will cost you an additional dollar amount added to the existing price. The taste of the food was good, it's just a bit pricey. Service was excellent, but in our case we were the only ones there.

Jeany L.

Yelp
Rating as a Thai person * food test was about average Thai resto in America, quite not that authentic or as fancy as its cost * nice and friendly service * there are plenty of tables, nice place to hangout wt fam and friends

Christine N.

Yelp
This was a really great Thai spot situated in the heart of Danville downtown. We went for a friend's birthday and they were able to accommodate a big group. The ambiance of the place is really nice and the staff were friendly. Our favorite thing was the lychee martinis they were packed with the alcohol punch, but yummy taste or lychee. We liked it so much we got a second one. Definitely recommend this refreshing drink! The food was pretty good, I really enjoyed my pad see ew dish. The egg roll appetizer was a nice touch with the sauce. Overall a good fancy Thai dining experience.

Shalaya Y.

Yelp
I'd give Zaya more than five stars if I could. The hospitality here is another level. So welcoming so kind and so professional. The food is unreal. Everything is so fresh and full of flavor. So glad our town has the best Thai food around :)

Sylvia K.

Yelp
Came back here for my friend bday. She has never been here and wanted to try so we came here for lunch. We both got the lunch special. My special consisted of Egg roll- 2 small ones . Crispy with good chili sauce. Wished there was more than 2 small egg roll Tom yum veggie soup - spicy, sour and sweet. Pretty good with lots of veggies Green curry chicken - a bit bland to my taste and there was tons of bamboo shoot and not much chicken. Thai ice tea - $4 more and I wanted less ice and the taste was perfect My friend got the pad Thai lunch and liked it. We also got the mango sticky rice. It's better this time. Maybe the mango is more ripe . I had lots of left over from my lunch special so I wanted to take them to go. After I got home, I couldn't find my soup!! I had half my soup left! I wish they had at least asked me if I wanted to take it home. Oh well... we went at 11:30 on a Wednesday and for more than an hour, we were the only customers inside. Then a couple came . So if you want a quiet place to have lunch , this is the place.

Yelp
Service was unacceptable! Party of 4 that literally was ignored and took over 1 1/2 hours to get served. Finally able to get our server to our table and she apologized by giggling that she forgot to put our order in. She said she would comp 1 dessert for the table. Will not go back!

Vanessa L.

Yelp
What a beautiful hidden gem way back in the corner on the first floor of this two story building with a little plaza. You can enter from Hartz or from the parking lot in the back! The vibe is super relaxing and quiet! The servers were polite and had great timing. We ordered the yellow curry with chicken and the Thai Basil w prawns that was super fresh and flavorful! I ordered a hot tea that came in this precious owl tea pot and owl mug! I highly recommend this gem!

Steve L.

Yelp
The staff was very attentive and was very helpful. The vibe outside is a complete 180* to the vibe inside. Outside is relaxed and chill. Inside feels more upscale to match the price of the food. The food was good, but not great. The fresh salad rolls started out really good! The yellow curry was sort of bland. The pad se ew was good, but not great. The coconut is a really fun way to get a drink, and delicious. The Thai tea was really good too.

Catherine C.

Yelp
Foods are very fresh and tasty, great cook, service was great. Authentic Thai cuisine with very nice owner. Yummy desserts that can't skip

Zainab B.

Yelp
Delicious food- I think I have a new favorite Thai Restaurant. Super clean and the food was great. Had the red curry and basil fried rice. Glad I finally got to try this place.

Yelp
My mom introduced me to this spot in downtown Danville-- she has great taste ^_^ Zaya Thai Pantry is a great option if you're craving high quality Thai food. We visited on a Thursday afternoon and were seated immediately. It's so spacious...! And modern decor. Our server was super attentive and gracious. Being one of two parties there, we were served our dishes within 10 mins of ordering. ROTI (w/yellow curry): Fried delicately, so buttery and crisp...! The curry was creamy, sweet, and mildly spiced. SALAD ROLLS: Your standard spring rolls LOL. I have never seen any restaurant call these "salad rolls" PANANG CURRY (w/shrimp): ???? HUGE PORTIONS. So much curry & shrimp. No quality lost even in this quantity-- still extremely flavorful & balanced. BEEF RIB KHAO SOI: THIS IS EVEN MORE ENORMOUS. LMAO WTF. This is enough for 6 meals???? We knew it had be to taken to-go the second we saw it. The beef rib was bigger than a forearm-- ridiculously tender, falls right apart. Goes well with the rich broth. MANGO STICKY RICE: Their mangos are SO ripe. Some places skimp by using mangos that are still a little green and tough-- not here. This was so juicy and sweet. Sticky rice is on the sweeter side. Leftovers for days........ You definitely your money's worth.

Brandi W.

Yelp
Very good experience! Everything we ate was delicious, and pictures are below. None of them missed the mark at all. Stars of the show was the short rib just melted in your mouth! My other favorite was the tamarind shrimp! Crab fried rice was very yummy, although my friend said it was too sweet for her liking. The yellow curry was also good, and so was the basil stir fry with beef (although spicier than expected) but I don't mind a little heat. My friend ordered the fried banana for us to share but she switched out the vanilla icecream for coconut ice cream which was an excellent choice! I have no complaints about anything I ate. Can't wait to come back and try more. The decor is awesome too! It's modern, clean, and the bathrooms are even super cute. The only reason I took off a star because I feel like although the service was good they could've been a little more attentive for our group.

Kira N.

Yelp
Great place . Great food. Great staff. Everything we ordered tasted great. You cm park on street or there is one parking lot behind

Yelp
A great place to come for dinner! I went on a Thursday night and we were seated outside, where there was live music. Or waitress was extremely attentive and friendly. The in house chili oil is exceptional, and the food way delicious and great value. Additionally, they let me bring my dog outside in her carrier, so she got to enjoy the vibes as well. :) Great place to grab a delicious Thai dinner on a warm East bay evening!

Yelp
There seems to be lots of Thai restaurants popping up in the neighborhood over the past year. You got the traditional ones like Thai Spoon and Bungalow and then upscale/fusion ones like One House Bistro and Zaya. The restaurant has a trendy vibe with a bunch of round tables. There's a large central bar offering up seasonal cocktails like Egg Nog White Russian. The menu has both traditional Thai items and some more exotic fusion items, though I did not see any pork items - just chicken, salmon, and beef. We ordered: Chicken Satay: Chicken was juicy but man that peanut sauce had serious spice. Nice add of toast too - guess its Thai Peanut Butter Mini-Sammies. 4 stars. Khao Soi: This is one of my favorite Thai noodle dishes- you get both chewy egg noodles and crispy varieties on a rich, curry-like broth. I got mine with stewed chicken - a large skin-on, bone-in leg and thigh. You can also get this dish with short rib! 5 stars For our son, we got the crispy chicken rice plate. I liked how the breading was thin, and not super oily. That sweet and sour sauce was a bit intense though. 4 stars. For dessert, save room for the 25-layer mango crepe cake. Super smooth and light, and comes with both fresh mango, mango cream filling, and mango syrup to remind you of what the dish is all about! Vanilla ice cream is just a bonus. 5 stars. I did not get cocktails this time but the wife got the fresh coconut which was super refreshing. After drinking the juice the staff will cleave the coconut in half for you to scoop up all that meat!

Yelp
A nice edition in Danville of another great Thai place in the area. We've been here twice for dinner, and we've had an awesome experience with pleasant and friendly service. The restaurant has a nice warm ambiance with outside dining. The khao soi, crying tiger (steak was tender), papaya salad, crepe cakes are all yummy. The crab fried rice was delicious. I tried their lunch menu via take out, and they got the order wrong even though correctly taken via the receipt in all, so I called them back after reaching home, and they quickly fixed the issue. It didn't hit the same for some reason. I'd like to give their lunch menu another try, but perhaps for dine in next time.

Yelp
Summary: one star less for lack of servers for lunch. After the last wonderful visit, I convinced four of my friends to join me for lunch. Lunch specials are $22 each and there are plenty of options. The food came with nice plating. We shared the entrees so it was a feast. The only thing missing was a bite of dessert. Still highly recommended but given a single server for 20-30 lunch customers, the service was painfully slow. The owners can easily fix this.

Yelp
Zaya Thai Pantry opened five months ago. We went there for the first time for Sunday lunch. I concur with the Yelp reviewers that this is a five star restaurant. Staff was friendly from the moment we walked in. We were surprised with the excellent napkin presentation. The team rolled the napkins in the shape of a little flower. Some Japanese restaurants carve shapes out of food. Zaya did tue same by rolling the napkins. We had the Pumpkin curry, Thai basil sauté with fried egg and a small cucumber salad. The pumpkin curry with seafood was one of the best we have had. The curry contained shrimp, bay scallops and other white fish. There was plenty of fish and the Delicata squash excellently complimented the flavor. The Thai basil sauté was a great vegetable dish. We ordered the dishes with mild spice which allowed us to taste the other great Thai flavors without having to deal with too much heat. This dish came with a nicely presented fried egg. We strongly recommend you try Zaya Thai Pantry.

Yelp
We had a large group for lunch and they got everyone's orders correct! Cute restaurant with outdoor seating options. The lunch special was very tasty with an appetizer, soup and entree with rice. The food is spicy so make sure you let them know if you don't want spicy. Eggplant chicken had nice flavor with white meat chicken. I especially liked the salad roll appetizer with peanut sauce.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place through yelp as my Fiancé wanted to go on a date night. We wanted somewhere different from the norm, and we landed on Zaya. I am glad I found this restaurant as it will be my go to spot for recommendations for friends and family. The inside of the restaurant is classy and fancy. Perfect for a romantic spot for you and your loved ones. I also saw that they had a separate room for bigger parties, so Zaya could accommodate for celebrations or gatherings. As for the food, it was outstanding. Thai food always hits the spot, but Zaya takes it to another level. All 3 dishes we ordered were great, however the Short Rib Khao Soi is a must order. The serving size is huge, and the presentation is beautiful. The taste also lived up to it all, as the meet was tender and juicy and the curry was sweet and packed with a ton of flavor. Looking forward to my next visit back to here.

Yelp
Located on the back side of the Clock Tower building facing the parking lot. Cozy porch perfect for covered outdoor dining when the weather gets warmer. Yummy curry puffs. Tasty satay chicken, a teensy bit rubbery in texture. Peanut sauce was great. Appreciated that the pad Thai was customizable, add your protein of choice. Mango in mango sticky rice was perfectly ripe and oh so sweet. Tiramisu crepe cake was the only letdown. Frosting lacked sweetness. May have been over whipped and tasted like eating chocolate butter. Service was very pleasant, patient and attentive. Vibe is modern and chic. Plating is quirky mix of upscale and whimsical. Atmosphere feels geared towards adults rather than families with children. 3.5 stars

Kwan A.

Yelp
4.5 stars rounded up to 5 stars. Even though the name Zaya Thai Pantry may sound like a casual dining eatery, it's actually on the more upscale/fancy side and the prices certainly reflect that. The restaurant has a fairly modern design. The food we tried were delicious for the most part and were very nicely presented. Curry Puff - The outside of the curry puff was so buttery and flaky. Inside was filled with delicious filling. One of the best curry puffs I've ever had. Highly recommend. Tom Yum Soup - I requested this soup to be mild as my husband has a fairly low tolerance for spicy food. The waitress told me the soup was already mild. Although the tom yum soup flavors were spot on with great ingredients, it was very spicy. I have a high tolerance for spicy food but it was spicy even for me. Pad Thai - Again, the flavors were spot on. Crying Tiger(Grilled Thai-style marinated ribeye steak served with Papaya salad + sticky rice + tamarind sauce) - Even though the dish was listed under Specials, it was our least favorite dish mainly because the ribeye steak was on the dry/chewy side. One nice thing is that the restaurant has a super nice single stall bathroom with a diaper changing station. This makes it very convenient for families with babies/kids. Overall, very happy with the food, service and ambience of the restaurant. I like this restaurant much better than another Thai restaurant in the area. However, Zaya is more pricey for sure and I would probably only go there once in a while if I feel like splurging.

San C.

Yelp
Average food with high price and low customer service. Never going back again - not worth the time and money.

Tiffany L.

Yelp
Food here is top notch! I've tried many Thai restaurants and this one pretty much nailed it in flavors. Things we tried (in order of best to least favorite): 1) khao soi. Expensive but big enough for 2 people . Love the curry taste and the sides that come with it. I would definitely get this again! You don't see many Thai restaurants serve this northern Thai dish 2) crab fried rice - big chunks of crab, soo good! 3) pad see ew- has a lot of that wok flavor and seasoned well 4) crying Tiger - the meat portion felt a bit small. I wish the sauce was a bit spicier, but asking for additional chili oil sauce helped 5) pumpkin curry - this is seasonal. Don't get me wrong, it was good! But it was my least favorite out of everything I knock off a star only because we mentioned it was our friends birthday but they didn't do anything to celebrate (as I had seen previously another Yelp person posted they had complimentary dessert - even if it's small). Another reason was our water didn't get refilled frequently so we always had to pour it ourselves. For the price we spent on food and drinks, I would think this should be standard service for this kind of restaurant

Denise L.

Yelp
Excellent service, food and ambience where you can sit inside or out. Their menu is has great variety and beautifully presented. As this was my 1st time, I tried the lunch special which was as delicious as pretty to look at.

Bob K.

Yelp
Zaya on a recent Saturday night was disturbingly empty. A few tables occupied only. This restaurant deserves much better. It's the best Thai cuisine I've had in the tri-valley yet, although there are so many more places in Danville alone to try. The Wife and I are light eaters these days. OK, she always was, but now I'm trying to lose weight. We went here for an anniversary lunch recently, where I had only the fabulous and quite spicy (but not intolerable!) tom yum soup. Her favorite dish is pad see ew, and this place has the best she's ever had. Saturday night we returned for dinner. My favorites are salmon cooked in banana leaves, and green curry with veggies. I ordered the latter, after a dirty martini and crispy spring rolls, served super hot and yummy. The curry came out, and I gasped at the large portion. I ate perhaps a third, saved the rest. TW ate half of her pad see ew, leaving room for one of the excellent desserts, Thai tea crepe cake, with coconut ice cream and Thai tea sauce. the cake had at least twenty layers. Five stars, for the best Thai I've had.

Alan R.

Yelp
Wanted to try a new restaurant in Danville vicinity and stumbled on Zaya. The interior and the place is well maintain. Service was ok, could have been better. We weren't attend to as much. Food was decent but not exceptional. I thought the curry puff was really good and maybe was my favorite along with my drink! We had pad Thai which was on ok side . We also did Togo pineapple fried rice and pad kee Mao which weren't as good!

Mike G.

Yelp
Everything was exceptional, especially the banana leave wrapped salmon. Service was great and everyone was very friendly and accommodating. Will be back

Susan D.

Yelp
Wanted to try something different with my friend for dinner and I knew the location from the old crappy bar that had been here. Wow! What a breath of fresh air, from the minute you walk in aesthetically pleasing right down to the dinnerware. It was a cold rainy night, or we both ordered hot tea, it came in cute owl teapots and cups. We started with a fried shrimp roll (I prefer the fresh one) but my friend really wanted this one, and I will say it was very delicious and crispy. The sauce was sweet with a hint of spice. We each ordered our own dishes since we both had particular dietary choices. I love yellow curry and you do have to add the protein, I picked to add chicken. Lovely large serving with carrots and potatoes and the spice level I thought perfect, as it hits you at the end of your bite. Of course I couldn't finish it all and brought the rest home for lunch the next day! My friend ordered an eggplant dish (blech) so you understand why we didn't share...haha, but she really enjoyed it and I'll take her word for it. We didn't try dessert as we were too full. But they did have a number of choices. I'll say it's not cheap, but not horrible when it comes to pricing, but then we ordered fairly simple. I will come back as there are other things I'd like to try on their menu that also sounded good. And I love that it's so close to home! We did make a reservation on a Saturday and by the time we left, people were waiting for tables.

Yelp
We have found our new favorite Thai restaurant! Zaya Thai Pantry had popped up on Yelp, so I quickly bookmarked it as I wanted to check it out, which we did just last week. Zaya Thai is beautifully decorated, minimal and chic.  Upon entry, your eyes bring you to the brightly lit bar where the bartender is shaking up cocktails. We happened to dine here on the evening Zaya Thai Pantry was hosting a small event for the Chamber of Commerce, so it was a bit on the loud side.  However, the gracious owner, Zac, immediately approached our table to apologize for the unusually loud atmosphere.  The noise didn't bother us at all, as we were eager to eat. We started off with two cocktails, the Lychee Martini and Thai Mar-TEA-Ni.  I really enjoyed the Lychee martini as it was not too sweet.   We then ordered the Crying Tiger, Crab Fried Rice, and Basil Stir-Fry with Beef. The Crying Tiger was served with sticky rice and a small bowl of papaya salad.  I was pleasantly surprised to see a side of papaya salad as it's one of my favorites, but not so much for hubby, so we very rarely order a full dish of it elsewhere.  This dish was delicious, and we very much enjoyed dipping the strips of ribeye in the citrusy dip.  Next time, I'll ask to see if they can sear the ribeye a tiny bit longer. The Crab Fried Rice was DELICIOUS!  We ordered it without tomatoes as I personally am not fond of tomatoes in fried rice.  One thing to note is that the crab fried rice DID NOT smell fishy at all.  We've been to several other Thai restaurants, both high-end and fast casual, and for some reason, the crab fried rice has a fishy scent to it.  We definitely enjoyed this dish and will be sure to order it again (and again and again). The Basil Stir-Fry with Beef was another yummy dish that was devoured quite quickly. For dessert, we ordered the Thai Tea Lover and WOW!  I somehow missed photos of this dessert on Zaya's Yelp page, so I was not expecting to see thin crepes a mile high with frosting in between.  This dessert was absolutely scrumptious.  It was not too sweet, and the coconut sorbet was perfect with it. Zaya Thai Pantry serves delicious food, and the service is deserving of 10 stars or more.  Our server was attentive, kind, and quite funny.  We look forward to returning to Zaya Thai Pantry soon! TIPS: If you like your Thai food hot-hot-HOT, please ask them for a side of spices to add fire to your dish. They don't have the typical spice tray, but they did bring out homemade chili oil, which added the heat I was craving. Ask your server for the Laos version of the Papaya Salad.  Trust. You're welcome :) They have two entrances, and the entrance that's located on the parking lot side (off Railroad Ave) has a super cute floral sign which is perfect for photos.

Aileen H.

Yelp
The restaurant felt almost like fine-dining. The interior was modern, clean and very cute. The decor and the presentation had a lot of nice touches including the fresh flowers on every table, and the elephants on the wall! The decor was Thai-inspired without being tacky. The owners; husband and wife team came out and introduced themselves. They were super friendly and very cute. I learned the name of the restaurant is a combination of their first two names. What a sweet story! We ordered crying tiger beef, fried tofu, basil eggplant with tofu, pad-sew, crab fried rice, curry beef puffs, fried egg rolls, yellow curry with chicken and the larb salad. All the dishes were delicious and beautifully presented. The portions are not big, and the prices are on the higher end. We got 2 desserts: coconut ice cream with crepe cake and the honey toast. The honey toast was delicious! They did tag on a mandatory gratuity because of our large group of 7. Service was excellent! There is a free parking lot in the back of the restaurant. The restaurant has many Instagram spots for photographs. So come ready.

Yelp
We went here for my friends birthday and had Japan be our waiter. She was amazing. She was very attentive, kind polite, and professional. She made us delicious cocktails and gave us suggestions for lunch.. Japan even sang a birthday song and gave us a delicious fried banana dessert- so thank you Japan for your hospitality and your kindness. The food was delicious and the curry was very spicy and up to par. Thank you, Japan.

Akshita J.

Yelp
Love their food and ambience. Staff was quite polite and helpful. Everything we order was so good.

Chris O.

Yelp
Super nice Thai restaurant in the heart of Downtown Danville. Zaya Thai Pantry offers great cocktails and food for all to enjoy. Appetizers: We got the Chicken Satay and Crispy Shrimp Wantons. The shrimp was decent but the satay was on a whole other level; we even ordered another tray. Main Course: I got the Panang Curry with Chicken and another person in our party got a drunken noodles with beef. The curry was a huge portion and delicious with a nice kick. The drunken noodle was great; but it is a bit harder to eat with beef given the size of the pieces (just personal preference). Cocktails: We got the Thai Tea Martini and the Night Owl. The Thai Tea Martini is much stronger than I thought it would be and is alcohol forward...which I love. But if you do not, you have been warned. The Night Owl is a much sweeter cocktail with a nice coffee flavor; like a tiramisu.

Yelp
When you walk it, you know it's gonna be good. The aroma of the spices and menu items made me so ready to order. I'm glad i was there with 4 other friends, we were able to share and we tried 4 delicious fishes, an appetizer and dessert. Featured are my favorited

Heer S.

Yelp
good, not great... maybe my expectations were too high! the ambiance is very nice for some upperscale dining. def good spot for date night. i loved the way the napkins were folded too service started out good but we weren't really attended to and tried flagging down someone for water for almost 10 mins. 20% gratuity was built into the bill for our group of 5 and also the food... of five dishes we ordered they were all pretty bland unfortunately. we'd ordered medium spiciness and it was neither spicy nor flavorful. presentation of the dishes were amazing though

cin o.

Yelp

We drive by at least 20 Thai places before stopping here ! Sooo delicious!

Really nice place for a date night or when you're looking for a more upscale Thai restaurant. We're regulars at nearby 11th Tiger but saw the reviews and wanted to give Zaya a try. Overall it was great, we loved the atmosphere, but it's definitely a good bit more expensive. Food - the Short Rib Khao Soi was the most unique item on the menu and the star of the night. Very tender, generous portion, but also pretty pricy. The Basil Stir-Fry wasn't as spicy as we expected, but my wife ordered mild when she meant medium so that's on us. The Pad See Ew was good, but is better/cheaper at 11th Tiger. Ambiance - much more spacious and attractive than we were expecting, definitely recommend for a special occasion. We were there early so it was pretty quiet. Service - great, they came by multiple times and the food came out promptly.

Yelp
I always like eating authentic Thai and my go tos in Danville are 11th Tiger in downtown and Simalan in Blackhawk. I know a couple of new Thai places opened up in downtown so I was excited to give Zaya a try. The actually have a plated lunch menu for $22 which included an appetizer, small soup, and small entree of your choice. I had never had a Thai bento before! Flavors were good and ambiance is upscale for Thai.

Yelp
I came here with my husband to celebrate our anniversary. The food was amazing! Best Pineapple Fried rice and spicy eggplant stir fry in Danville. Also, loved the fresh coconut! I would highly recommend!

Yelp
Our first visit here on a Sunday for lunch. We arrived around the time they opened at 11am and were the first to arrive so plenty of parking spots and tables available. Waitress service was attentive but also a bit distributive towards the end because we were carrying conversation and she came to remove the plates as soon as we finished. I felt a bit rush and there wasn't a line or anyone waiting for tables. Food was average but I expected a bit more from this restaurant due to the price. Our lunch for 4 adults and 1 kid was over $200. Here's what I would recommend getting. Chicken satay - I recommend order two of these because it was good BUT the sauce is super spicy so we didn't add a lot. Pad Thai - up to par. Should order. Thai ice tea crepe cake - very good so save room for dessert Thai ice tea - good Kid's meal - crispy chicken We also tried Tom Yum Soup and was pretty disappointed due to that we asked for mild for spicy levelness and the spicy level to us was 6/10. Even though we spoke w the waitress that the soup was a bit too spicy for us, she didn't suggest to replace us with another soup. I have tried Tom yum soup at many other Thai restaurants and they were able to make it mild. So if you can't eat spicy, don't order this. Curry puff - taro one was good but also nothing really special Red curry chicken- chicken tasted good but super spicy. Pad see ew - OK Kid's crispy chicken- our kid finished all and liked it. Also smelled really good. Highly recommend. There is also a Photo Booth inside the restaurant as well as outside w a decorated wall. The light needs to be fix for the indoor Photo Booth as the picture does not look good when someone is actually in the picture due to the glare in the restaurant. The interior of this restaurant is quite pretty so very good first impression. It's one of those restaurants that's hard to get return customers. More like a one time visit since food is not in particular really tasty. There is outdoor seating but space is not that big so it's possible to you can bring a small to med size dog.

Yelp
Today, I have the afternoon off from work. Because I didn't plan anything other than working out, I didn't find out till later that my man was available to sit down with me for lunch. We reached out for our handy Yelp app and looked at what was open and nearby. We found Zaya Thai Pantry which we haven't heard about. They were open, so we headed downtown for chow. I'm so glad that the racist bar was replaced with a Thai restaurant! It has better energy now. When we walk in, we were the first patrons in the restaurant. We were able to select a table since the restaurant was empty. The restaurant has a Modern feel to it. We inquired to use chopsticks however, the restaurant didn't have any because they said that modern Thai cuisine used forks. My partner stopped me from texting my family that lives in Bangkok for verification because we should just take them for their word. So, with a clear concise, I will believe what they are telling us. We ordered the curry puffs with yellow curry and taro, a Thai iced coffee, Tom kha with vegetables, green curry with chicken, and a chai old-fashioned. The curry puffs were so much better when we dipped it in the yellow curry and it had a nice little side of pickled vegetables. The Thai iced coffee was OK. The chai old fashion didn't taste like chai, but it did have a lovely cherry and the whiskey rock was embossed with a cute picture of a bird. The Tom car was the best dish that we ordered. The soup was so creamy and velvety with all the coconut milk in it, and the vegetables were cooked perfectly. Also, it had a slight kick, which made us really happy, eating Thai food. The green curry was OK. It had a little bit of kick and it was nice to have a different Texture using the vermicelli noodles instead of rice I think the price is worth it for the service and the elevated menu. You also get free parking if you come at a time where there's parking available in the lot or on the street. Try this restaurant, it is VERY clean, the waitstaff is very attentive, the food is good, and you will not be disappointed!

Yelp
Do not eat here unless you want to feel sick. We walked in there on a Sunday during peak lunch hours and it was empty. That should have been indication enough that the food was likely not fresh. The ambience was nice as expected. The papaya salad came out and had a soapy after taste to it, the spicy eggplant and drunken noodles were pretty good, but then came out the panang curry. It had a funky spoilt coconut aftertaste. We complained and they offered to replace with a green curry which ended up having the same gross flavor too. All 3 of us felt a little sick soon after eating it- mind you we barely tried it and left most as is. We all felt like throwing up and decided to rush back home. Upon telling the waitress, all she could say was I am sorry and give us a weak smile. The service was poor overall and the flavors+quality definitely a miss especially given their higher price point. I guess we are sticking to our usual go-to in San Ramon (once we actually feel like eating a Thai curry again after this horrible experience). Never coming back again!

Yelp
Sat on the beautiful front patio for lunch. Service was attentive & friendly. While the lunch combos looked good, we decided to order full entrees. All dishes were tasty. There are Yelp comments about the higher prices. I'm not sure what people are expecting... the price for EVERYTHING has gone up post Covid, finding good & reliable hospitality staff remains difficult & the location is in Danville which I'm sure is not offering major discounts to businesses.

Yelp
Average food and bad costumer service. And their dessert (crepe cake) was not good too. There is so much better and cheaper Thai restaurant around this area. Can't recommend this place!!!!

Yelp
A super cute modern restaurant with delightful ambiance to go with a friend or a date! I tried their lunch special & it was a nice portion. I didn't have room for dessert after. Service was quick & attentive even while we sat on the patio. I will have to say their chicken in their panang curry was with tender & juicy. The thai tea I ordered was on the sweeter side. When I mentioned to the waitress, she brought some milk for me to mix in & it was much more to my liking. I would love to come back again to try more items.

Yelp
Everything was wonderful. No other words come to mind. The food, the service and the ambiance. Parking was nearby. The location is central to Danville. I would go back there in a heartbeat.
