Zaytoon

The ladies at the register were extremely sweet and nice and gave great suggestions, and the salon was beyond delicious. I will try the shrimp next time. The salad was nice and crisp, the Naan is filling and so good my sister and I ate so much on the salad and bread we took majority of our food home to eat for dinner the next day. You have to try the food. The establishment is kind of the hole in the wall bar vibe, but it is cozy, quaint, friendly, and a place that would be great to be a go-to each month. I may not have pictures up yet but will. Writing a novel has taken a lot of myself. Disability wise- the door you may need help with if in a wheelchair. I had my walker, so it was good, and a person ran up to grab the door, but it is light and pretty handicap friendly but no handicap button, but that's common. The bathroom has an accessible stall, but the main reason I took off a star. I wish I got the girls name, but their smiles looked genuine and polite, and one mentioned if I needed anything to let her know. They have chairs and booths and seem transfer friendly, but I had my walker but will try next time. The food is something that can soothe a rainy day and add spark on a sunny hot day. Enjoy!

I love the food and the service is excellent. The atmosphere is great. It's set up for fast food. You put in your order at the counter and can either carry out or eat in. I'm a take away customer and just love the Chicken Schwarma. Hummus is oh so good!

We had a big group and ordered the family feast, which comes with hommous, baba ghanoush, tabbouli, and fattouch served with a main course of lamb grape leaves, falafel, fried kibbie, chicken shawarma, chicken kabob, beef kabob, and shish kafta served on a bed of rice. I had never tried kibbie, and it was lovely. Can't say it was like the bestest Mediterranean food I've had, but it was very enjoyable and plentiful for our group. Portions were huge... I think feast for 5 will feed 10. Well, 8 for sure. But there's always room for leftover.

It's absolutely one of my favorite places!! They have the best!! Order extra hummus and bread. Once you start; you can't stop! I love the veggie grapes leaves and tabooli salad. The house dressing is also (drinkable) delicious!! You won't be disappointed!

Tonight was are first experience at this restaurant. The food and service was fantastic especially for the price. We thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered. The humus is absolutely the best in the Lansing area! And I've had humus at several restaurants in the area. I'm leaving 4 stars for the food and 5 stars for the service. Overall I left 4 stars because the cleanliness of the dinning room tables and windows certainly could have been cleaner. The lamb kabobs were ordered medium rare and came out well done.

This food is so delicious and wonderful that I'm even giving 5 stars for atmosphere. It will be the most delicious meal you've had in a month and maybe a year. We got the Shawarma platter and brought it home. The hummus is to die for and the garlic sauce is out of this world, let alone the delicious shawarma chicken and rice. You won't regret stopping at this place, it's a promise.

I always order the Family Chicken Shawarma meal. It's plenty for 4 adults! I've tried several other Mediterranean restaurants in the area, but Zaytoons definitely has them beat. Service is quick! Call ahead if you're in a hurry. Don't forget the Golden Peak Sweet Tea! It's a perfect complement for this meal. They have the 👌🏼 best chicken 🐔 swarma! Love ❤️ their rice 🍚 😋 too!

Food was tasty and quick! Restroom doors are filthy. Stainless counter and trash can in dining area also dirty. Staff was fixated on phones..makes it tough for them to notice other things I suppose.

This is always a lunch stop when we are in town. They never let us down. The food is delicious and the service is very friendly. It is a clean and welcoming place to visit.

Ordered some Zaytoon for delivery today. Got a chicken shawarma combo platter, spicy hommos instead of regular and a side salad. Also got some falafel to try on the side! Everything was fresh and delicious, not overly greasy or oily and they made sure I ate good and had leftovers because they loaded me up! 10/10 food and service, haven't eaten inside but I always appreciate how inviting and clean the ambiance is!

We live fairly close to Zaytoon's and order from there often when we have family gatherings. They offer good, fresh Mediterranean food that is unlike other restaurants around Holt and several options for feeding a group.

Try their lamb chops my wife loves them. Their grape lambs leaves are very tasty. You will receive generous portions.

My wife and her friends love your food. It is always delicious and fresh. Usually do a takeout order. Staff always courteous and helpful.

We did carry out, ordering was easy and food was made promptly! We both did the Chicken Shawarma Combo with side salad and a small side of Baba ghanoush! Salad was fresh with a vinegar and oil dressing! Chicken Shawarma Combos were well flavored and very enjoyable! I would absolutely order from here again and makes for awesome leftovers!

We love the clean simple ambience inside Zaytoon - Holt. And most importantly, the food!!!! We have favorites in the chicken shawarma and hashwi, but I also love their shush kafta, my kid loves the lamb skewers, and we all love the hummus. I also recommend tipping off your meal with a lady finger baklava. They have some if not the best in Lansing.

I came here for lunch after coming to holt from out of town for an exam and it was a great decision! The service was really quick and the lady who took my order and brought me my food was very kind and helpful. I ordered the chicken shawarma combo and I was well satisfied. It came with a salad, pita, chicken shawarma, rice, and hommous. The chicken shawarma was so tender and flavorful! Typically, I'm a wrap type of gal but I read the menu too quick and kind of blacked out while ordering but I would absolutely get the combo again. So much food and it was very tasty. Such a sweet atmosphere too, while I ate, it seemed like multiple regulars came in and the staff was fond of these customers :)

Our experience was not what we expected. This experience along with the recent local news reporting employees are not being paid will ensure we will not be back. We have seize the deal coupons from our local radio station. The Holt location would not honor the coupon. We realized it expired but it states in the rules they must honor half the amount of the coupon because they received the funds already. The employee checked with the manager and they still would not accept the coupon for $12.50. We were frequent customers and they have lost that income.

The food seems to be hit or miss. Inconsistent flavors in the hummus and chicken schwarma. The salad and rice are always on point so I continue to return with hopes of the food not being over or under seasoned. The garlic sauce is a must and service is very friendly.

I can't talk about much of their menu, because their chicken is so good, after three years, I still haven't bothered with anything else. I highly recommend the Family Platter of chicken. Chicken kabab, chicken shawarma, and grilled chicken breast... all of it juicy, super flavorful, tender, and delicious. They have multiple locations, and i enjoy them all. The one in Holt, however, does NOT do fresh bread, which should be a crime. The fresh flatbread available IN Lansing are warm, fresh, soft, delicious. Holt just gives you cut pita from bag. It's a sad thing, and I have to take a star for it... the bread is that good... how can you have it at one location, and not another? If they ever fix it, I will happily give them back the fifth star.

This place is damn awful. I don't know why people even like this place. Every time I get something that has chicken, it's burnt. The employees are really rude here too.

I love the food here, especially the hummus is AMAZING! Really enjoy the chicken kabob combo. Fast and polite. Eat in or to go. Super fast service!

For my Halal Yelpers -- unfortunately not all items on the menu are Halal. I decided to go with the Beef Kabob Combo since I was told that item is Halal. Overall, the meat was cooked well and the outside had a little crisp from the fire. The rice was not too special -- I'm a Middle-Eastern food enthusiast so this actually was my least favorite rice. The salad is good. I do recommend trying the dressing. Unfortunately, they do not do soup substitution for the salad so I brought Lentil Soup separate. Although it tasted good, the soup was very thicker and not very soup-like.

Ah, the bustling metropolis of Holt, MI. I am not sure why we were blessed with the second location of Zaytoon's, but oh man will I take it. There are some serious eats to be had here (see: the entire menu), and now they have baba ganoush so my Mediterranean fix is complete. It is often PACKED during the dinnering hour on weeknights, so takeout may be the better option if you don't want to worry about waiting for a table. For me personally, this is hands down the best eating option in town.

The food was fresh and delicious. Service was great too. The wait time was relativity short from placing the order and pick up of food.

Some of the best Mediterranean food in the Holt/Lansing area. Chicken shawarma is excellent. Lentil soup is superb. I highly recommend it

Good food. Good service. Really enjoyed the baklava. Staff was friendly and explained the different foods as we were unfamiliar with some of the names.

Love their healthy choices. Shawarma is great, even the kids like it. Don't forget to order their hummus, we get extra for kids lunch. Service is great too.

The food is always hot and fresh at this location. I eat here every time I visit family in the area. The Greek salad is amazing and I also get a side of chicken shawarma. The pita bread and hummus are delicious too. The staff is very friendly and efficient. I'm already looking forward to my next visit :)

Food is tasty, decently sized portions and without a long wait, especially if you call ahead.

Without exaggerating, Zaytoon's is a terrific Mediterranean restaurant! They offer fast, friendly service, really good food, generous portions, and easy access and parking. We have ordered the Zaytton Family Feast for 3 and 4 when we've had friends for dinner, and in both cases, I don't see how 6 ordinary mortals could have eaten it all. :)

I ordered the Lamb Chops Combination medium rare and upgraded to the Tabouli salad for $0.99. Why not splurge and live a little! Total after tax was $19. The 4 Chops were grilled perfectly. Very smoky, juicy and tender. When I bit into them it made my inner Caveman smile. The Hummus was creamy and savory and I mixed it with the Rice. My only complaint was that the Tabouli was a little bit salty. But other than that it was great, especially the Chops. Lots of good food and had a box to take home. I have eaten here before and I will be eating here again.

Not impressed with their food. A family member had been there prior to Covid, and said that the food was delicious. I went this past summer and the food has gone down hill. The prices on their website were incorrect, citing two different sets of prices for their restaurant on the west side of Lansing versus the Holt location. Needless to say, I won't go back. And neither will my family, as I shared my take out with them.

Met some people here and the food was delicious. We all got schwarma and loved it. Hummus was delicious too!

Watery and tasteless falafel. Hummus is good, hashwi is good, menu has too much. Do less and do it better. I'd rather go to Woody's.

Zaytoon is always delicious! I love the chicken swarma as well as the pita with garlic.

Heard about this place on the radio and had to give it a try. Everything is very tasty! The hummus has a good flavor and they give you a very large amount. The chicken was moist and had the right amount of spices. The rice was cooked perfectly. We ordered a platter that was supposed to feed 3/4 and had plenty of leftover. Great food and portion sizes! You definitely get your money's worth.

Updated on 5/26/19 I can no longer vouch for the chicken shawarma pita. Something has changed, and I couldn't get past two bites. I'll still leave this at 5 stars as I may have come on an off day, but that was emphatically the worst chicken shawarma sandwich I've ever had. (Keep in mind a year and a half ago it was the best.) I trust Zaytoon will return to original form.

Overall the place is clean. You order from the counter but don't let that fool you, their continued service is nothing short of exceptional. Food is solid and serving size is perfect.

I love lebanese/Mediterranean food. And lansing has a few choices. You should know that each place is different even if the same dish. Im told that this is common even in Lebanon. I had the chicken schwarma pita and fries. The food was good and the place was clean and updated. I normally dont get fries at a place like this but they were good. They looked and tasted as if from real potatoes. But tgey were not as crispy as i like ie 5 guys. The pita did not have a sauce like woodys but was dry seasoned. That doesnt mean it was a dry sandwich w/o taste. Its was good, just different. The food was fresh, hot and fast, just how i like. And under $10 without the $2 fountain soda. Ill be back to try other menu items

Good for carry out during pandemic. I had been once previously for dine-in and the inside was a bit of a mess during lunch hour. Good food

At a$10 and $11 plate i would have expected more than 1 kabob of meat in each meal. With 5 small chunks of meat on each of them. I am 1/2 Lebanese and the chicken kabob was way over seasoned. I get the same seasoning and noticed how coated it was when I pulled it out of the container. The seasoning is typically mixed with yogurt to coat and keep meat moist. This chicken was dry and the seasoning was extremely strong. Last time i was in i got the veggie grape leaves, my entire family noticed how over lemoned and seasoned they were as well. I thought i might have found a new Mediterranean food place. I don't believe that those who know better will continue to come back in on a regular basis. The chicken shawarma was the only decent meal out of todays 3 full meals purchased off the regular menu. I asked about special. Opted for the larger portions as i was instructed by the counter staff! Very Disheartening!! I waited for almost 30 mins for my carryout order, that was quite excessive!! The counter help gave the guy, who i let order before me, a tray full of Baklava for his wait. I ordered immediately after him and left 10 minutes after he did. Similar size orders, with really poor service.... For Me Anyways!! Yet every person who ordered asked for more pita bread. One of the cheapest adds to the meal! Service is what brings people back! I eat food like this every where i can, i will just return to past good restaurants and bakeries!

I place a "To Go" order from Zaytoon in Holt approximately once a week. They continue to have consistently fresh, amazing tasting food. I always order their Chicken Shawarma combo; I keep saying I am going to try another dish, but I can't help and get that every time. The staff is very accommodating and will cater to your needs. I normally call ahead to place my order and it is ALWAYS ready when I come to pick it up. I love their Shawarma, rice, and hummus! Great addition to Holt!

Not much to say other than after spending 25 years surrounded by middle eastern restaurants in the Detroit region this is one of the few places in mid Michigan that can stand up to my expectations. Good food and consistent. Kudos.

Not the best Mediterranean restaurant that I have been to but the food there is pretty darn good. Take my review in with a degree if objective pessimism as I have ACTUALLY been to Israel to eat authentic Mediterranean foods- so as someone who has been to Jerusalem and have eaten gyros, hummus with pita bread, Fillafels etc I may authoritatively say that I like this restaurant's food. The service however was sub par on our particular visit with family. Is this place good for family? Yes. Does it have carry out? Yes. Is there ample parking? Yes. Are there generic questions about this restaurant that I am forgetting to ask? Yes. Can you find the answers to those generic questions on Google? Yes. Am I poking fun at those questions? Ummm..officially no comment! ;D

The food is okay. Not the best tasting of its genre out there, but not abysmal either.

This has become one of my favorite restaurants in the area. The chicken Shwarma and lamb kabobs are the best thing in the menu! The ONLY minor change I would make is just add a few different salad dressing. Not many restaurants are THIS good! If you are ever in the area, this place comes highly recommended! Service is good and fast, prices are excellent and portion sizes are perfect.

We went Saturday at 5:45 after a movie and the place was almost empty. It filled to half full in the half hour we were there. Half hour! That's how fast we got our food and ate it. There was a huge pile of to-go bags on the table for people to pick up. This was our first visit after hearing how great this place is. We want to go to the original restaurant on the West side to compare, because we did feel that some of the food was probably cooked on site at the other restaurant and sent over to the Holt location. Chicken is cooked on site in Holt, and now we wish we'd gotten that. The lamb in the gyro was good tasting but overly dry, like it had been reheated. The fried eggplant was delicious, as was the rice. The tabouli was good. The side salad was swimming in dressing, though the dressing wasn't strong, so it was ok (just ok). Veg grape leaves were very yummy. Hummus was delicious and very smooth. Pita was typical in that it was getting hard almost as soon as we took it out of the plastic wrap. Service was cheerful and swift. The dining room feels like a fast food except that it is carpeted. I like that you can grab your condiments and to-go containers. I'm holding out for the West side Zaytoon before making a final decision on this place.

What a wonderful little place! I have been to the one in west Lansing before and was very excited to visit this one. I usually get chicken schwarma, but I wanted to try something different and was instantly overwhelmed. The man at the counter helping us was so passionate about the food and wanted us to have a great experience so he suggested the mixed platter. It comes with a little bit of everything as well as hummus and salad. Our food took a little longer to come out after the bread and hummus, but the people bringing it out were very nice and apologized for our wait. Food that good is worth waiting for, and we were able to take lots of leftovers home. I even purchased some baklava to go.

I love the attentive service and the friendly staff. Food is always fresh and delicious. When we have friends and family visit we always get Zaytoons. Thanks!

My husband and I have eaten at Zaytoons in Holt several times since they opened and I had to write a review because we are in food heaven. . So far, everything I've tried (and I'm on a mission to work my way through the menu), has been amazing. I couldn't help myself though and ordered the grape leaves and lamb combo again tonight. It's just incredibly flavorful and unique. I'm am always willing to experiment with new flavors and foods but my husband is less likely. Healthy is not his first choice when eating out but he has also been very happy with the menu and is always satisfied. He has tried many different dishes as well. The bottom line, the food is delicious!! The fact that it works with our eating plan is just bonus. The restaurant itself is clean, well maintained and looks like a typical diner. The quality of the food and presentation are such that you would almost expect to pay more. It's nice to have such a great choice for lunch or dinner for so reasonable. The other reasons to give this review five stars; they are as customer service oriented as a restaurant could possibly be. Because we eat there at least once or twice a week we are seeing a lot of different staff and they have all been genuinely friendly and helpful. They are fast to bring your food to the table and come by to make sure you are happy. Just can't say enough good things about this place and are so thrilled to have them near by. We highly recommend them.
