We went during the brunch hours and the entire dining experience was great as it was not crowded. The dishes were roundly commended by the group as delicious, high quality and well prepared. As I am thinking about it, there really wasn’t anything bad about anything. Our server(s) were really professional and often anticipated our needs. I can see why this place is well reviewed.

Google
This is a great spot for casual dining. Sunday brunch also includes the full lunch menu. The food was mostly fresh, however, proportions can be small for those with bigger appetites. I suggest opting for salad instead of fries.

I hate to give bad reviews, but this restaurant is crying for one. It has apparently been skating by on a vote of “best Mediterranean restaurant in the East Bay,” apparently by people who don’t know the cuisine. I wanted one thing on Father’s Day, stuffed grape leaves, a staple of Mediterranean cooking, worldwide. For $10 I was brought five small grape leaves, damaged when removed from the can they came out of, and then microwaved. When I asked the hostess/cashier where the grape leaves came from, she did not know. Service was abysmal by two different individuals. The “Greek Salad” was an amateurish mix of cut tomatoes with lettuce. More tomatoes than any other component. The Brussels sprouts, on the menu of any restaurant or bar in the USA, were precut food service items and overcooked by the kitchen. The Hummus Plate with chicken left us questioning the spicing which was lacking. When I asked what “Jerusalem Falafel” was, jalapeños were listed as an ingredient! $60 for completely forgettable food, actually embarrassing for a popular restaurant, but the cost cutting by the kitchen is filling the owner’s wallet. Do not go here! It will not let me leave a zero star review.

Had a dinner in this place with colleagues last week. Main food and starter both were awesome. One of best Mediterranean restaurants I had ever seen. Parking is little challenging, need to park in nearby streets. Neighborhood looks decent!

Google
Went for dinner and service was great. The lamb dish was flavorful but I would have preferred the lamb kabob. I was trying something different but should have just got the kabob. Place has good ambience and I recommend this place.

Nabil Barakati

Google
Mezze platter served cold and pita bread were stale and not heated. Chicken rolls were flavorful and mansaf was alright. Seated next to the kitchen and as a result the smoke made it feel stuffy.

Google
The atmosphere is very open, clean, and minimalistic. The service was great and the food was amazing! The hummus, the brussel sprouts, calamari, kebabs, etc were all so good! Highly recommended and I will be returning!

Went there for lunch and had a fantastic time! Great olive plate! Brussel sprouts were awesome - and the shawarma plate was excellent as well.

Yelp
Oh, wow! I met a friend here for lunch... she lives nearby & dines here frequently. I was excited to try a new restaurant & have the opportunity to catch up. I arrived early & drove quite a distance, so I wandered thru the restaurant & was immediately drawn to the decor -- everything is a piece of art, even the way the tables are set up with pretty angles for the silverware & appetizer plates. The color scheme is warm & inviting. The website has excellent pics that highlight everything I described. My next destination was the bathroom. Perfect. Clean, multi-stalls. Not gender-neutral, but doors on stalls for privacy. Well lit & good quality mirrors. I opted to sit outside since the February afternoon was warmish. There's some street noise, but it's buffered by the covered wood structure. Heat lamps are available overhead for evenings or people who chill easily. We wore layers & were comfortable in cushioned chairs. We shared the Mazza Platter with a sampling of flavors that was almost too pretty to eat. We also shared the most delicious pomegranate infused brussels sprouts. Both items were a delight to the taste buds! We warmed up with decaf coffee served in mini-French presses. Mine had cream. The service was impeccable & just the right amount of professionalism, since my friend is also a regular & well liked! There's tons of nearby street parking, some is limited by time. I parked a few blocks away, so I enjoyed a lovely walk before & after my meal. My friend said that this restaurant is excellent for large groups, too, and often has live music in the evenings & holidays.

Sherri W.

Yelp
Enjoying a late afternoon lunch & Zaytoon was still busy. I have frequented this place at least 3-4 times & always come back when I'm in the area. Orders: Lentil soup: potato, lentil, celery & carrot which was perfect for a wet & rainy day. The ingredients are fresh, hence the flavorful component exists. Since I brought my daughter, they were kind enough to split the soup. Such a thoughtful gesture! Beef & Lamb Shrwarma- always a consistent go to with tender pieces of beef & lamb. The sauce tastes like tahini sauce that helps lend a creamy texture & flavor. My consistent go to place with a beautiful, relaxing ambiance. The only issue you may have is parking, but I always look for free residential area & don't have an issue.

Yelp
Had lunch here. The zaytoon (olives) were salty but delicious. I had the Greek salad with the beef and lamb shawarma. Large portion and delightful! Service was good, even with the number of tables being served. And I really liked the bar area with the stone wall. With the large windows and sunlight, made the place feel airy. Will be back.

Pete A.

Yelp
Came here with my aunt for lunch. This is her recommendation. Starting with a welcoming very nice environment inside we are greeted quickly by the waitress. I had a fresh squeezed mint lemonade while my aunt had a mint black tea. I had the chicken Shawarma plate with rice and salad all very tasty. My aunt had the lamb kebab also was salad and rice. The lamb was big cubes and well seasoned. I finished it off by sharing a baklava crumble, which surprisingly was topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream . I would come here again .

Linda L.

Yelp
I came here specifically because I was craving baklava ice cream and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food. I ordered a hummus plate with lamb and it came with pita bread. The hummus was silky smooth and the lamb added a good layer of texture and saltiness that the dish needed. The pita bread could've been softer but it didn't bother me too much. The crumbled baklava was Amazing and definitely satisfied my craving. We shared the dessert amongst 3 people, but I probably could've finished half myself because it was just that good! Overall, atmosphere was great, service was attentive, and portions were very generous.

Makaela S.

Yelp
Phenomenal!! Definitely make reservations because this place is always packed. Everything was top notch. Food was amazing. I would definitely go back again to try more of the menu. Ambiance was really cute. Fun for a date night or dinner with friends. I'm still giving it 5 stars because the food was so good. But the place did seem understaffed for sure and the drinks were not the best.

K S.

Yelp
I have always generally liked Zaytoon but today was not a good experience. Service was incredibly slow. My wine came in a dirty glass and then was replaced with a different (and cheaper!) wine. I'm not even sure that the third glass was what I had ordered but I was tired of having to send it back. Note to Zaytoon, if it takes three tries to bring the right wine (and I'm still not sure that it was), it would be good customer relations to have comped it. Or at least to have apologized.

Holly S.

Yelp
Trendy, light and bright interior. Stopped in on a busy evening so only available seat was at the bar. Not ideal because it had that typical bar smell . Once I got past that, I had a lot of questions about the menu, but the responses I got were "I don't know" so I just stopped asking questions Ordered the Fattoush salad + falafel. The salad was fresh and crisp. Good sized portion. I had the lemon olive oil dressing on the side, which I was happy I did because it was almost all oil. I also ordered the pomegranate vinaigrette, but it too was very oily You get 6 falafels when opting to + them on a salad. Falafel had good flavor, but I thought they were oily. Very good garlic toum sauce. I tried the jalapeño mint sauce too which was delightful... I'd be curious to learn of the ingredients... it has almost a Parmesan richness finish.

Kristi C.

Yelp
Solid experience, very nice ambience and excellent service. The food is good. I think that the prices are a tiny bit high, but it is Solano Ave. so understandable. My friend and I tried their Brussel sprouts, spanakopita and the eggplant beef dish. I will be back, but I won't run back.

Sam A.

Yelp
Beautiful ambiance, delicious food. All the appetizers on the mezze platter were delicious- the hummus, baba ganoush, eggplant salad. The beef kebab was so so good- perfectly cooked, not too chewy. The servers were quick and kind, the restaurant itself was beautiful

Jen L.

Yelp
The food is very good both to go and dine in. I prefer to dine at the actual restaurant. It's nice inside and the service is attentive and friendly. On our latest experience, we had to go food that we picked up. My son enjoyed their Schnitzel which was fried chicken tenders with fries. I had their Lentil Soup and split The Mediterranean Sampler and Shawarma Plate. My friend who prefers veggie options enjoyed the Cauliflower Wrap. And my other friend had their Chicken Shawarma Plate. Everything was tasty and the portions were right. I liked the Falafels and items in the sampler. Their soup was also very tasty.

Barry W.

Yelp
We had a couple of appetizers here and they seemed high-quality, if a bit pricey. The Mazza platter was our favorite of the two -- many tasty options. The fried calamari was fine, but if you look closely at the photo, you'll see that a lot of what you get is fried bell pepper. Not what we were hoping for. If it says anything, we left after the appetizers, preferring dinner elsewhere. The service was adequate but not in special in any way. We liked that there was an outdoor dining option. Parking was free in the neighborhood. Bottom line: This was okay, but there are too many better choices, both for Mediterranean food and for restaurant options along Solano Ave.

Robert C.

Yelp
I don't know of another restaurant that has such high-quality cocktails that I enjoy. It's been my experience when going to restaurants and looking at the cocktail menu that inevitably after ordering one of their showcase cocktails that I'm just disappointed. The food is also really good here. However, if one is in the mood for a libation, this would be the place to go. You wouldn't be disappointed. I had cocktails and appetizers on my recent visit. By ordering appetizers, you get a wide variety of foods to enjoy. A LONG time ago I initially wasn't Impressed with this restaurant, but after few years having gone by I revisited and was REALLY impressed. The two drinks I had were a " Stay Tuned "and a " Midnight on Solano." The appetizers we had were Arabic cheese, Gambri & scallops, Musakhan roll, Kubba and Kalai. One doesn't often have Mediterranean food, but this is a place worth going to. I won't bore you with that details of all these appetizers only to say that I really feel one doesn't often experience these food items if at all. It's also nice eating at the bar and talking to the bartender. You get good service. Enjoy!

Andrea K.

Yelp
Had a great dinner here, we ordered the lamb chops, mansaf, and also the mazza platter to start. The Mazza platter was just alright, we liked the falafel the most. The star of the show was the mansaf, the rice and bread combo with the yogurt sauce was so delicious. The braised lamb shank was also soo tender. It was pretty cold sitting outside, and of course my boyfriend forgot to bring a jacket that day. However the employees were attentive and turned on the heater for us. The service and ambiance makes this spot perfect for a date night dinner.

Allison Y.

Yelp
We visited on a Sunday afternoon after a visit to Albany beach with our dogs. It was a bit chilly that day so they turned on the heater above our table but we were still quite cold and it wasn't until we were almost done eating and another family came and sat next to us that they turned either another heater on or turned the heaters up and it finally felt warm. I do wish they turned the heaters on higher from the beginning for us. Despite the coldness, the food was lovely and the waitress was quite friendly. I enjoyed the vibrant Mazza platter in particular but everything was good. I'd come back, but be sure to go on a warmer day or ask them to turn the heaters all the way up from the start.

Tiffany S.

Yelp
Came here during happy hour and had a few small plates. Brussels sprouts are so good here, nice crunch, large and topped with lemon and parm. Definitely a favorite. Mezza platter was a good sampling of their dips. It was kind of a small portion but liked the variety. Ordered the lamb with tomato - had more tomato than lamb. Was good but probably wouldn't order this again. Would come back and try more things on the menu!

Kim B.

Yelp
We ordered food for delivery. We got Fattoush Salad with lamb and beef shawarma. There were two of us. It was more than enough to make a meal. There was lots of meat. The dressing were on the side so we mixed it our selves and it wasn't soggy. We also had Mazza Platter. There were generous servings of Baba Ganoush, Eggplant Salad, Hummus and tabouli. Lots of garlic!!! The Mazza included pita but there wasn't enough. There were two small falafel balls. Overall a very tasty repast.

Liz P.

Yelp
Gosh I love this place. The fattoush salad is amazing and my absolute favorite thing to eat. I also love the hot tea, and have had several entrees here that have each been delicious. I am a big fan of couscous so love that this is served with the entrees. This is a great place to meet with friends, or for an intimate date.

Tom J.

Yelp
Still love Zaytoon... wonderful unique atmosphere with terrific food I haven't found it's equal anywhere

Megumi K.

Yelp
I love Zaytoon! They have the best Baba Ganoush and hummus in town! I always order Mazza Platter for appetizers. It's great atmosphere as well. Highly recommended!

Jennifer U.

Yelp
Great weather for nice outdoor seating. The service was relatively prompt and good. In door decor is also very nice with ample indoor and outdoor seating. The food was delicious and not too heavy or oily! Highly recommend eating here

Victoria E.

Yelp
Overall this place is fabulous! We were seated right away and given a bottle of water for the table. I went with my pescatarian brother and we were both excited by the amount of vegetarian options available. The interior is bright and warm, with an upscale relaxed vibe. They had great music playing and everything felt very clean. We opted for 2 starters: Brussels sprouts and arabic cheese. The brussels were served with pomegranate molasses and parmesan, and completely blew us away. They were absolutely perfectly cooked with a lovely caramelization and bright fruity burst. The Arabic cheese was such a wonderful complement to the brussels. The platter came topped with fresh tomatoes, cucumbers and olives. The texture of the cheese was reminiscent of a midwestern cheese curd- a hearty bounce with soft chew and slightly warm. I loved the new experience of that warm cheese contrasted with the season cold veggies. Moving on to main courses we had the grilled lamb kabob and "The Mediterranean" traditional plate. I was floored by the lamb kabob; it had an intense grilled flavor and a soft gaminess that you only find in perfectly cooked lamb. I included a picture of the interior color of the meat to show just how beautiful it was. My plate also included the fluffiest rice I've ever had the pleasure of tasting, and a bright boldly seasoned salad, plus a dipping sauce for the lamb that was akin to a minty pesto-esque sauce. Slivered almonds graced the top of the lamb and added a faint nuttiness to round everything out. The Mediterranean plate had in incredible flavor profile as it encompassed many different elements. Every bite was a burst of loud flavor! I am not a hummus person but I did enjoy theirs. It was very smooth and had a lot of flavor besides garbanzo. The tabouli was refreshing and worked as a lovely palette cleanser. I was surprised by the baba ghannouj as I wasn't expecting such an explosion of unique flavor. It was not my personal favorite but my brother enjoyed it and commented that "you would never know there was eggplant in it". We really enjoyed the warak inab-the little rolls of rice inside packed a big punch of umami. The falafels, again were extremely fluffy. They were beautiful inside and boasted a smooth balanced flavor profile. Lastly, I cannot dote enough on their pita bread! It was warm, it was fluffy, it was rich and delicious! We cannot wait to try their dinner, brunch and happy hour menus. I'm also intrigued by their cocktail menu. The drinks look sublime and I will definitely indulge next time. I feel their prices are very fair- for our two (large) starters and 2 entrees it was about $68 after taxes.

Sara B.

Yelp
Beautiful ambiance, love in interior design and authentic Mediterranean feel. We ordered the Mazza Platter, Spanakopita and the Beet Salad. The Beet salad was underwhelming and very basic, but the Spanakopita and Mazza platter were delicious. Service was quick and friendly. I also really enjoyed the Mint Lemonade. Definitely intrigued and would love to come back to try their main entrees!

Dilys S.

Yelp
Great ambience, great service, love the food. the yogurt, flaffels and salads are superb. It's a pretty and spacious restaurant. Good for groups. Parking is a bit hard 90 minutes near downtown

Natalie V.

Yelp
When we came here for lunch and there were 5 of us, we opted to sit outside since we had our items of luggage with us (since we just got off our flight) and wouldn't want to take a lot of space from other customers if we dine inside. The inside looks really nice and has a chill vibe where you can enjoy your food and wine. Some of the food items we ordered were Zaytoon appetizers to share, and we each got our own traditional plates and wraps. The food was good but the service was just okay - I say okay because the staff who attended to us weren't as friendly and welcoming. They made mistakes with our order. It wasn't a busy day, the weather was nice outside (it was shaded) and we had to wait for a while before we got water, the bill, and others.

Greg K.

Yelp
Excellent food all around, although the chicken breast kabobs were a little overcooked. Lovely colors and combination of flavors. A great departure from the standard hummus/babaganoush standards... though those items are available for those of you who want that. We were there on a Saturday night and the service felt a little bit stretched where we felt a little bit forgotten at times or someone brought a dish that we didn't order. It's also a little bit noisy, but that's what we get for going on a Saturday night. But all in all, I will most certainly go back!

June W.

Yelp
We had a good lunch here. The atmosphere is very nice and bright, with the skylights. They were a bit slammed the day we were there, as I think they were short staffed. - The Zaytoon appetizer (olives) was tasty. The spanakopita was great. Nice taste, great use of sumac, good presentation. The grilled Brussels sprouts were also good. - For entrees, we had the shawarma plate (nice crunchy almonds), the kefta wrap (great taste), and the hummus plate with lamb shawarma (excellent flavor, and the warm pitas with it were great). - For dessert, we had the kanafeh (shredded phyllo with sweet cheese, very yummy) and the crumbled baklava (wooh, so good!). All in all, a very nice lunch, and would love to come back.

Norah A.

Yelp
Azit is a professional and attentive owner. The food is WONDERFUL and we always look forward to coming here. Shanker always takes great care of customers and Liza is simply a delight and always cheerful worker.

Miranda M.

Yelp
Wasn't familiar with the area and super glad Yelp steered us here. Food was delicious. Had the spanakopita and the vegetarian moussaka. The portions are generous and the ingredients all tasted very fresh. Service was great and so happy they have outdoor seating.

Fork In The Road E.

Yelp
Food: excellent, especially the beet salad and chicken kabob. Service: perfectly fine. Ambiance. We sat outside on their patio, it was casual and comfortable.

Sandy L.

Yelp
Not sure what to eat in the area, I turned to Yelp and used its roulette feature, which led us to Zaytoon Mediterranean Restaurant--a choice that couldn't have been better! We were treated to amazing Greek food and wine, and the restaurant itself was beautiful. We ordered a variety of small dishes and shared two entrées, and everything was authentic and absolutely amazing! The servers were attentive, checking in often to make sure we were enjoying our meal and had everything we needed. I can't wait to return and try more items from their menu!

Veronica L.

Yelp
Super delicious Mediterranean place. Came here with a local friend who is a regular and the food and service were spectacular. I had heard the food was good and while back but had not been here to eat until today. Nice, clean, modern decor inside as well. Will definitely be back. I didn't snap a picture of the kebab for the salad but it was really good as well. The falafel was super crispy and delicious in the Mazza Platter.

Christine F.

Yelp
Such a hidden gem in Albany! I love Mediterranean food and I got the shawarma plate. My friend got the Mediterranean which comes with pita on the side! For drinks, we got Midnight on Solano and See You Sousse. Personally, for almost $20, these portions were huge so I am not complaining at all. Drinks wise, I thought I love sweet alcoholic drinks but after tasting my friend's Midnight on Solano, I realized I am truly into refreshing alcoholic beverages. The vibes of the restaurant were awesome. Lots of people sat outside but since I like to take pictures, the inside setting made sense. Now, I hate ordering dessert from the same restaurant but like my friend was gassing up the crumbled baklava so I had to try it with her. At this point, we were so full but we magically had room for that. The baklava was so warm and the ice cream was smooth. The honey added on top really touched it together. You have to order the dessert! For $11, yeah it sounds not nice to hear but the quality was out of this world. I am going to be coming back here more often in the future!

Rod R.

Yelp
Zaytoon is hands-down the best Mediterranean restaurant in the Bay Area! If you're searching for the perfect combination of fresh, flavorful food, reasonable prices, and a warm, lively atmosphere, this is the spot for you. The dishes are consistently outstanding--everything from the appetizers to the entrees is bursting with authentic Mediterranean flavors. The kebabs are a personal favorite: perfectly seasoned, tender, and cooked to perfection. Portions are generous, so you'll leave feeling satisfied every time. And don't skip the desserts! They're the perfect sweet ending to an already fantastic meal. Whether it's their Kanafeh or other delightful treats, you won't be disappointed. Zaytoon holds a special place in my heart as well. My family and I come here for every special occasion--it's our go-to spot for celebrations. In fact, it's where my best friend and cousin first met and later returned to celebrate their engagement. The warm atmosphere and incredible food make every gathering here unforgettable. The staff is friendly, the ambiance is inviting, and the quality of food is unmatched. Zaytoon is truly a gem and worth the visit whether you're a local or just passing through.

albena t.

Yelp
Fantastic Mediterranean restaurant - food is one of the best I've had, the vegetarian mussaka is to die for! Great selection of cocktails and wine, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful! My new favorite spot! Highly recommended!

Sharon C.

Yelp
Came in for lunch on Friday. The restaurant vibes are very nice and calming. I love all the turquoise. Food: My friend and I shared the Mazza Platter appetizer and I got the lamb kebab and both were great! Portions are pretty big and the food is so good. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive. I would definitely recommend, and I would come back!

Steve K.

Yelp
I don't understand the purpose, of this disgusting restaurant showing up on my feed. Look at the crap they served me. It almost been a year and I'm still pissed and disgusted.

Shery B.

Yelp
It's a nice place to eat Arabic food however, the beef Kifa screw was spicy. The food is little spicy for someone who does not eat spicy food. The service was good. The place looks really nice and clean, but most of the food is spicy and the upside down. They used the mansaf meet instead of using special meat for the upside down so it tasted different but it was good.

Alice H.

Yelp
Delightful Mediterranean selection in the Mazza Platter, including creamy hummus, smoky baba ghannouj, and zesty tabouli. Eggplant salad and falafel added satisfying crunch, creating a well-rounded introduction. Halloumi Salad combined salty halloumi with fresh greens, pomegranate, and bean sprouts, tied together by zesty garlic vinaigrette--a refreshing interlude. The Outstanding Mansaf: Braised lamb shank in sheep's yogurt over rice, lavash, pine nuts; tender lamb, unique yogurt twist--an unforgettable combo. We had the Crumbled Baklava, containing walnuts, pistachios, vanilla ice cream, and caramel, as our final dessert! Overall, an exceptional experience; though slight saltiness in dishes was a minor drawback, it didn't overshadow the delightful defining flavors.

Von

Yelp
Came here on a whim. Food was really delicious! They are quite busy for a Friday afternoon. Service was great. Looking forward to coming back. Their cocktails were really good too!

Deanna Y.

Yelp
After doing some holiday shopping nearby, I popped into Zaytoon for a quick lunch. I was immediately impressed with the bright and spacious interior. Some tables are closer together, but the different sections of the restaurant allowed for larger groups and more private tables. We were seated towards the back behind the shelf of olive jars and ended up having the entire section to ourselves. Shared the Mazza platter, which provides a tasting of hummus, tabouli, baba ganoush, eggplant salad, and falafel, and the eggplant Moussaka entree with beef. It was plenty of food for two people and we enjoyed both items. The platter was a great way to try lots of different spreads and the moussaka was like a cozy eggplant lasagna. Couldn't resist ordering dessert and picked the Kanafeh with shredded phyllo, cheese, pistachios, and a sugar syrup. It wasn't too sweet and had a great mix of textures and subtle flavors. The baklava sundae also sounded amazing, so I'll be back to try that one. The food was delicious, prices were reasonable for the quality and portions, food came out quickly, and the service was friendly. Definitely recommend!

Andrea K.

Yelp
The best thing we had was the toum that came with the chicken kebab. Falafel wasn't amazing but our waitress gave it to us on the house so we're not complaining! Amazing service and generous portions, but the food was lacking in flavor and salt (and I usually don't like salty food).

Angela D.

Yelp
Great spot in Albany! Good food, quality fresh ingredients, great friendly service and good location! I had a lunch meeting and really enjoyed everything including the ease of getting there and finding parking.

Will E.

Yelp
I've been to this place in the past and I wasn't into reviews that much but now that I am, I wanted to post again. Every time I've been to this place it's been great service and excellent food. Today was no different. I went for lunch which was the first time ever, it was pretty busy but I was able to sit at the bar right away. I had a nice glass of red wine which was reasonably priced and I ordered the Kefta wrap which came with a salad. The salad was refreshing and the perfect size. The wrap was also perfect for the size, the ground beef and lamb was cooked well with so much flavor. For dessert I had the Baklava and it was a hearty dessert that I couldn't finish. It was light, flaky, and good flavor I couldn't eat it all. The vanilla ice cream was tasty too. The service as always is exceptional. Thanks again Kumari. I might have spelled it wrong. :)

Ellen E.

Yelp
Very good food. Good service. Nice staff. Comfortable place. My favorite middle eastern restaurant. Not the typical food offerings.

Sanilie F.

Yelp
Dinner at Zaytoon over the weekend. They have the best food. Staff is always warm and welcoming. The restaurant is so beautiful to me. I love it and enjoy going here with friends. Can't wait until next time.

Thomas B.

Yelp
This is yet another review for this restaurant. It's worth noting that everything is as I said in previous review. The food is amazing with layers of flavor and I always try and order something different when I returned to a restaurant and I was not disappointed. The quality of service from my phone call making the reservation to my waitress by the name of Erica was amazing. There were 3 of us. For starters we begin with kalai. What a wonderful course. The meat and the vegetables went so well together that I was sorry. They didn't service more non bread with it because we were still diving into it. Then we ordered the mansaf. The lamb shank was perfectly tender. Next entre was the veggie kabab. It was fresh and vibrant with wonderful charm marks on it for flavor and the colors on the plate were incredible together. It surpassed my friend's expectations. And the final entree was the pastlla. I hope I don't ruin the mental vision of what this is but it's a pie that's baked in filo layered crisy dough that's the size for one person and on the inside it is stuffed with vegetables and meat. Delish. See my pics. The whole experience was perfect to introduce visitors from out of the area to our local cuisine. Thankyou again, Erika, for the reservation. All they way to being our awesome server.

Koko S.

Yelp
Amazing food! Absolutely delicious. Every single dish we had was just phenomenal and flavorful! Came here 3 times before posting my review and it was a 10/10 every time. Ambiance is cozy, there's a bar as well. Place gets popular so I suggest a reservation if you can. All the servers were really nice and attentive as well. Definitely a must !

Toni M.

Yelp
Mary and I had lunch here today. In the past several months they have moved my favorite halloumi salad from the lunch to the dinner menu, so I have had to order other dishes. Mary recommended the Hummus Plate w/ lamb and that sounded good so we both ordered it. I ordered Earl Grey tea to drink and Mary ordered Yemeni coffee, both w/ milk, mine w/ sweetener. Our server was adorable, warm and helpful. I asked her name but have already forgotten it. I should write things down. The Hummus Plate was wonderful, the hummus silky smooth and flavorful, the lamb in small chunks. The lamb was very tender and tasty. It came w/ abundant, pillowy pita to scoop it up. I think it's going to be one of my go-to dishes when I return. I can still taste it, in a good way. The tea was very good and Mary really liked her coffee, which came in a filter press. Zaytoon remains a favorite restaurant, always welcoming me back. They have Halloween spiderwebs up on the ropes that divide the restaurant from the bar and it looks festive.
