Launched as a late‑night truck and now expanded to brick‑and‑mortar, Zaytuna still parks downtown with generous shawarma, falafel, and lamb specials. Restaurant Hoppen and KETV’s Now Serving Omaha spotlight its Syrian family roots and consistent crowds.

I got the chicken special (chicken, rice, lettuce, tomato, onion) and it’s HUGE and SO good. Also open late (I’m posting this at 1 am with my takeout container in front of me)

Absolutely stellar service and very good, well-priced food. The staff was friendly and answered my several questions, explaining what some of the dishes I didn’t know contained. I wound up going with a classic - gyro with a side of their chunky curry fries - and wasn’t disappointed. The portion is huge with lots of meat, the ingredients taste fresh, and food was ready in just a few minutes. 100% recommend if you’re in Aksarben and in need of quick, fresh snack or a light dinner before the movies, etc.

We stopped by at 72nd Street location. We had their chicken kabob dinner, gyro, and a side falafel. We also had Turkish tea. Wow, delicious! Great customer service make this a definite comeback to place.

The food is great, five stars for a food truck that serves tasty food at 1am on a Wednesday. But be aware that the guy in the window might get a little shady and overcharge you a couple of bucks. Or maybe he decides what you’re tipping. Either way, it looks like my credit card was hit for about $7-8 more than I would’ve expected from the prices on the side of the truck for three people. No big deal, and I see it as a convenience charge for time and location. But the customer next to me was upset for his card getting charged $14 for something that was listed as $9.50 on the truck. They might consider putting up a sign saying they’re charging an extra few bucks to cover rising costs, or whatever.

The new restaurant and inner rail locations are great! I would recommend the gyro or chicken special.

Zaytuna Mediterranean Restaurant is a gem. I enjoyed the warm ambiance and warm hospitality from the moment I walked in. The staff is very knowledgeable and helped me pick out a chicken rice dinner that was bursting with flavor. If you are Foodie this is your place. Did oli mention they also have three different locations. 😋😋😋😋😋

I ordered at 1200 midnight and dude didn't show me the total just the machine to swipe. Trusting him, I swiped and my $9.50 gyro was $14. When i questioned it, some other dude came over and blamed their credit card machine for the error. I called bullshit and and was handed $4 cash to make up for the error. I gave the $4 back and said you must need 8t more than I do if youre pulling shit like that
