We enjoyed a Christmas Eve dinner with our family of 4. We ordered 3 mains and I did the vegetarian menu with wine pairing. The food was flavorful and fresh. The wine pairing was outstanding with surprise likes ..chardonnay from ecuador and pinot from Argentina. All meat was cooked well preserving the flavor...chicken , duck and beef. Beef tartarand crab were huge hits. And chocolate desserts were amazing!! Great experience.

We had a delightful dining experience at Zazu. We opted for the tasting menu and wine pairing and enjoyed everything very much. Some of my favourite courses were the foie gras crème brûlée, very rich and decadent, the octopus which was delicious and very tender, and the guinea pig 3-ways, exquisite. The chocolate dessert was equally excellent, with strong Ecuadorean chocolate flavours. We found that the wine was perfectly matched with each course and enhanced the overall experience. The service was very good and the staff were friendly. I definitely recommend a visit to Zazu if you like fine dining.

The service was great, I just think from the way their Instagram posted pics of the food I was expecting a little bit more. And the Soufflé to me wasn’t really a Soufflé it was more like a little molten cake. (Which was sad cause a soufflé is my fav dessert) But it was still good and I enjoyed the evening.

Zazu is one of Quito’s top culinary destinations, offering a truly exceptional dining experience. The menu showcases Ecuadorian ingredients with modern, innovative twists, creating dishes that are both flavorful and visually stunning. Every meal is carefully crafted, with locally sourced ingredients that highlight the rich diversity of Ecuador’s cuisine. From appetizers to desserts, each plate is a work of art, combining fresh flavors and unique presentations that make dining at Zazu a memorable experience. The service at Zazu is equally impressive. The staff is professional, attentive, and highly knowledgeable, always ensuring that guests feel welcome and well taken care of. The ambiance of the restaurant is sophisticated yet inviting, with a warm and relaxing atmosphere that makes it perfect for both intimate dinners and special celebrations. The waitstaff is efficient and friendly, offering insightful recommendations and making the dining experience feel personalized and special. However, while the food and service are undeniably excellent, it’s important to recognize that the staff works under difficult conditions. Many employees put in long, grueling 15-hour days, showing immense dedication and commitment to their work. Yet, despite these long hours, the pay does not always reflect the hard work they put in. Additionally, there are reports of a "cash tip slight of hand" practice, where tips are discreetly handled in a way that allows staff to keep part of their earnings hidden, enabling them to send money back to their families in Quito. This practice reflects the challenges that staff face in managing their income, with the formal payment structure not always meeting their needs. While Zazu continues to be a standout restaurant in Quito, it's important to consider the hardworking staff behind the scenes, who consistently deliver outstanding service despite the demanding conditions they work under.

Service: 4 stars. Friendly and offers taxi service. Food: 3 stars. Tasting menu- overall too salty. Gave feedback after the 1st appetizer, but still too salty to me. Wine pairing: all the reds are on the very dry side. Recommendation: Seabass ceviche and Egg. Reservation: Called website telephone number a few times, either busy or no answer. You might get better luck with it’s online What’s App chat.

Fantastic dining experience. A fancy night out if you decide to do the set menu (and wine pairing) which we did, but absolutely worth it! Every dish was delicious and celebrated the wonderful foods and flavours of Ecuador. The best dining experience we have had so far during our visit.

Hands down, one of the finest restaurants in which I have had the pleasure to eat a meal. From the moment the doorman opened up the taxi door for my girlfriend, until the moment the maitre d’ asked if he could call us a taxi to return, the service was impeccable. And that was just the service. The food, or maybe I should call it ambrosia, was absolutely delicious. Every dish we ate, was more fantastic than the previous. These guys and the restaurant as a whole are the real deal. You could not have a finer meal anywhere else in Quito. Of this I am sure. Do yourselves a favor and book a reservation at this restaurant and enjoy. You will not be disappointed! And don’t forget to check out the wine tower…..yes, I said wine tower. Thanks everyone for a delicious and excellent experience. This is how a top notch restaurant operates.

We had an amazing Christmas dinner at Zazu. Pork taquitos and three cauliflower salad for appetizers, followed by the short ribs, cazuelo and roasted chicken. Topped off with creme brulee and bailey's and chocolate for dessert. The food was delicious, the service impeccable and the ambiance relaxed but elevated. They were sold out of the duck confit but we are looking forward to trying that next time.
