Amazing. Great use of local ingredients with Latin American preparations. Loved the cuttle fish, guinea fowl, and Chiayi corn dishes. Surprising non-alcohol pairing tastes. Cool entrance and the counter seating is nice and spacious. Attentive service. Would definitely return. Took a star off for the obnoxiously loud table in the back that made more than one group of patrons (besides myself) turn and look. The staff should have been a bit more proactive.

[Late review] Visited in Aug 2025 Zea is one of the most popular fine dining establishments in Taipei and therefore made it a point to visit it during my trip to Taipei last year. The restaurant only offers a tasting menu. The tasting menu comprised 12 courses a there wasn’t a single course which I thought wasn’t good. Every single dish is so well prepared and has such a good flavour profile that it was very difficult for me to choose a favourite course. Among the starting courses, the corn & coconut dish was mind blowing. The 2 main courses of the ostrich meat were absolutely brilliant. To wind things up, the dessert courses were splendid too. There aren’t many meals I’ve had in my life where every dish was so good. A full 10/10 experience. For drinks, I went with the non-alcoholic pairing. The beverages were super good and I would recommend going with the non-alcoholic pairing if you don’t want to have alcohol. There is also a wine pairing for those interested. Service was exemplary. The restaurant staff are very kind and tend to all your requirements throughout the meal. The head chef is a very courteous person and we had a very nice conversation on LATAM cuisine and restaurants. All in all, the meal at Zea was one of my best dining experiences of 2025, and the best restaurant I’ve visited in Taiwan till date. It’s a 100% recommendation for all folks visiting or living in Taipei.

Every course, from the first to the last, was a delightful surprise, incredibly delicious with delicate and complex flavors. The wine pairings were also exceptional; the first glass of sake was truly amazing. The staff provided detailed explanations of the dishes and were very friendly. Overall, this is a restaurant I would definitely want to visit again.

Amazing Latin cuisine with ingredients that are sourced from many Taiwanese cities. We couldn’t pick a favorite because everything was so good. Truly one of the most unique dining experiences you can have in Taipei. Even if you’re just traveling to Taipei for a short trip we’d recommend it because you won’t find this kind of fusion anywhere else.

January 2025 Our dining experience here was absolutely delightful! Every course was delicious and inventive. It was clear that exceptional service was a priority here - from the attention to detail, the little personalized note in the end and the gift bag, they went above and beyond to make sure we had a great dining experience. I had mentioned in my reservation that I was allergic to shellfish and still hoped to dine at the restaurant, even though they typically don’t accommodate food allergies. I was happy to skip any courses if necessary. They offered to remove the allergen from one of my courses. To my surprise, although they couldn’t modify one other course, they offered me a complimentary drink pairing course in its place. It was an incredibly thoughtful and unexpected gesture—and I was absolutely thrilled.

Tremendous meal. The kinds of meals that remind me why I love fine dining. The attention to details from the dishes, to the service was just top notch. Some flavor combinations of the dishes were just brilliant, like red shrimp with cacao and plantain? I could have 3 plates of that. Love to find different cuisines in all corners of the world. Also olive oil tasting is an absolute must in more restaurants. Truly recommended.

Liked the open kitchen, can see the choreography of the brigade. Incredible crescendo of flavours. The chocolate dessert was a bomb. Very nice wine pairing too, first time I did really like South American wines. Attentive service.

My friend and I went to Zea for the first time last Thursday and LOVED the experience! We both lived in different Latin American countries and were looking forward to Chef Joaquín’s mix of Latin dishes. It did not disappoint! We loved every dish; each was creative and artistically presented, but most importantly, they were delicious! My favorites were the nicuatole (corn, coconut, cassava), the caesar (red seabream), the empanada, and the avestruz (ostrich). I would have never thought of eating ostrich in Taiwan! It was served medium rare and was tender and flavorful. My friend and I ordered the 7 glasses wine pairing and enjoyed the conversations we had with Danny, the Sommelier. We especially enjoyed Malagousia (from Greece), Vinos del Mar (from Uruguay), and the sake from Japan. The highlight of the evening was meeting Chef Joaquín. He brought some of the dishes to us and described in Spanish the ingredients in his creation. At the end of the meal, we had the opportunity to continue speaking with him in Spanish and learn more about his creative journey. The take home alfajor was one of the best I’ve ever had – they melt in your mouth! Next time I’m in Taipei, I will definitely come back again!
