Zeitgeist Coffee opens early at 6am, which is perfect for morning people like me. I was pleasantly surprised to find free street parking nearby, making the visit even more convenient. The interior is spacious and filled with an eclectic mix of decor. There is plenty to look at, but nothing felt out of place or overwhelming. While I usually don’t focus on design, the atmosphere felt natural and curated in a calming way. The coffee was exceptional, definitely worth the trip into the city. As someone coming from the suburbs, I found joy in simply sitting by the window and people watching. It added to the overall experience. It’s a place where you can relax, enjoy your drink, and soak in the energy of the neighborhood. I’ll definitely be back for both the coffee and the ambiance. JY review

Went in without high expectations but the vibes are so cozy and the best coffee I had in Seattle. Just go for their coffee. They also have pastries but haven’t tried them out.

Google
One of the best lattes & mochas we've ever had! We couldn't figure out exactly why, they just were! Beautiful old building & lovely staff. There was a small little free library, with strictly books on grief, had never seen that before & found a couple books for a family member 💜. We'll be back!

Google
l had a really bad time booking a very unreliable bus trip from Spokane to Olympia last October. I finally arrived sleepy-eyed on Amtrak instead at their south Seattle Station for a short stopover, and across the street was the Zeitgeist shop. The sweet and savory fare, great coffee, and special vibe there would make this a regular stop for me the next time I get near there again. It was also the highlight of that train ride for me. I highly recommend this place!

Enjoy the atmosphere, romantic music, delicacy sandwich and tasty coffee! There are many choices to enjoy the excellent coffee anywhere in Seattle. I love and enjoy coffee here more than anywhere else and Starbucks! TC1492

Google
Great place to get a coffee, especially if you’re about to get on or off the train (Amtrak). Got a traditional macchiato here and it was prepared perfectly. The staff were kind and the decor is awesome and appealed to my “noir” sense.

Google
They don't make coffee houses like this anymore. Situated in Seattle's Pioneer Square neighborhood, just behind King Street Station is this beautiful, traditional coffee house that serves excellent coffee, pastries and sandwiches. With the U.S. littered with chain stores lacking in any type of personality, it's comforting to know that places like this still exist. Bring cash if you can as that helps them and let's all work together to keep places like this alive.

Google
I like this place a lot. The coffee is real good and I love their walnut anise biscotti. It's close to the King Street Station and light rail station so grab a cup and a treat before you ride the rails!

Yelp
Expensive? Yes. Delicious? Also yes. The coffee and food are both amazing and the service is second to none... Highly recommend this location and I really really love the ambience of this coffee shop. It's very close to my work and I love that it feels chill and there is also a little free library inside, which is very nice if you wanna grab something to read while you're sipping your coffee, but you didn't bring your own book. I will keep coming back, which for me is the marker of a great place, when I want to return, even though I have other options - which of course in Seattle, you have many lol

Yelp
Grabbed an everything bagel and a cold brew before our Amtrak to Portland. The bagel was fresh and the cold brew was smooth. My partner got a white mocha latte and I don't remember exactly what he got for breakfast but he had no complaints. Service was quick, no nonsense, and the place was clean and had that classic Seattle coffeehouse feel without trying too hard.

Yelp
What a great coffee shop! This was a quick walk from the train station and we needed a pre-trip coffee. Walking in the vibe is pretty relaxed. It's spacious and clean inside. The line was quick and the team was super friendly and helpful. The coffees were delicious! Perfect temp and flavor. I also got an apple turnover. It was baked well, bursting with gooey filling! Just the right level of sweet! Great location, great service, great food and coffee!!!

Yelp
Great coffee and things to eat. Service is good and fast. Can be in or outside. Place is fairly quiet and you can here yourself in conversation. Not far from waterfront.

Yelp
Such a cute little spot on the corner! Friendly staff, strong coffee and lots of different food or bakery options to choose from.

Yelp
We found ourselves hungry after attending an event near by and found this cafe! They were prompt in helping us, took our order and got or sandwiches as we paid! Our coffee took about 15 minutes to come out, not sure why it took so long. Over all it was fine, I can't stay I would go out of my way to come back here though.

Yelp
Love this place! Spacious interior, friendly staff, great drinks and cafe food. My two fav things are the morning glory muffin (carrot cake in a muffin) & dark mocha (chocolatey goodness with their in-house espresso whip cream on top!)

Yelp
This place has been here for a while, a Seattle old timer. Glad Zeitgeist is open at 6am, at times I do need to come by this area earlier in the morning for work. It's at the corner of 2nd & Jackson in P-Square, not far from King Street Station. It's a good sized cafe to work from or take a mid-day coffee break. The line can get long just before core working hours but the staff do what they can to get your order up. The standard Vanilla Latte is pretty good, I enjoyed it very much and thank you for the heart shape art on the crema/foam. Staff was friendly in the morning, took only a few mins to get my coffee and I was on my way. Prices are ok in my book. They do offer breakfast and lunch food items, or if you want some pastries. Overall, glad to have come by, will probably be back next week.

Yelp
Nice, cozy coffee shop in Seattle. Service was great and we got our coffee quick. There was plenty of seating when we went on Sunday morning. Although we didn't get any, the pastries looked delicious!

Yelp
A short stroll from the International District, Union and King Street transit stations, Pioneer Square and the revamped waterfront, this is the perfect chill spot. Coffee for tourists, delectable pastries and breakfast items all day make your dining experience special. However, the standout is the artsy vibe, retro setting and diversity - both patrons and staff alike. Oh yeah, no Starbucks in the area, which is a good thing for the business...and you. Cheers!

Yelp
I was in Pioneer Square a bit early for a meeting and needed a place to hang out for a while, so I stopped by Zeitgeist Coffee. It was around 4 PM on a Monday, and the place wasn't too busy. Ordering was easy and quick, and I got my drink in no time. I only ordered an espresso drink on this visit, but they also sell some delicious looking pastries. The space is large and open, with plenty of tables of all sizes and lots of available seating. The atmosphere was really comfortable, and the vibe was relaxed. A few people were working or studying on laptops, but it wasn't loud or distracting. There are some nice, clean bathrooms in the back. You'll need to ask for the door code at the counter. Overall, I had a great experience here and would definitely come back the next time I'm in the area.

Yelp
Great vibe and cool interior. The line was somewhat long with multiple people waiting, but we were served quickly. Lisa, the owner, and the rest of the team are relaxed but still very professional and accommodating. There is a good variety of sweet and savory options to choose from, and the team behind the counter offer great suggestions. Do I want my sandwich toasted? Hell yeah! Sooo glad I did. My latte had a rich flavor and just delicious. The sandwich was expertly toasted and the side salad consisted of a variety of greens with a yummy dressing. My friend had the sandwich with coppa and swooned. We liked it so much we returned the next day for the excellent coffee. This time I selected an orange and current scone. It was perfectly baked, plump currents, and the scone had the correct texture. Too often what is touted to be a scone is really just a muffin top - this was legit. What makes the place even more cozy is the owner remembered our conversation from the previous day and came over to chat - even remembered our names. Terrific hospitality. Great spot - we'll be back!

Yelp
Visiting Seattle for the first time and having that first sip of coffee here at zeitgeist is amazing. The coffee is fresh and tasty. Everyone here is friendly and welcoming. They allowed me to takThe enchanting ambience captivates my soul, compelling me to return every single morning. The music, which I absolutely adore, adds an exquisite touch to the experience. Thank you so much! Thank you

Yelp
Came here to work and grab a coffee on a Friday morning and it was good. Its a big cafe with bright light and i enjoyed view by the window. Lots of seating area and I enjoyed my Caramel Latte, definitely coming back here.

Yelp
This spot seems busy no matter what time of day you go so be prepared to wait in line and hunt for a seat. The lighting is ok but not great on a cloudy day (unless you can snag a window spot), so this wasn't my favorite ambiance for reading or working. The service was friendly and efficient, and my hemp milk matcha was pretty good, but it had quite a few clumps of unstirred, dry matcha powder at the bottom. The scone from macrina was good and they warmed it for me which was lovely. Any bakery or sandwiches are pre-made so be prepared that you can't customize toppings if you have any dietary needs. Overall it was a good spot if you want a quick meal or drink or if you'd like to chat with a friend.

Yelp
Enjoyable space - Tasty drip coffee - Cool location downtown Came here to get some work done, lots of space to choose from and the coffee was plenty good. A little noisy even with the AirPods in but enjoyed the space with the high ceilings and large windows. Most Seattle coffee is pretty pricy, this place was reasonably priced and well brewed. Parking isn't great, luck of the draw around the block. You're close to some yummy food spots!
google avatar

Mei Jie W.

Yelp
It was a cozy location for a fall day and close to the train station for some early morning fuel before heading out. The drip coffee was boiling hot and tasted like something from a fast food chain. I did get the blueberry bar and it was really good, but there were multiple flies in the pastry box...
google avatar

Yelp
Been a few times, the coffee is quite rich in flavor. Usually pretty busy inside. There is some seating. I think the layout is pretty good given the space. Service is always great

Yelp
I have a bit of layover time on a bus-train connection in Seattle and just enjoyed a lovely hemp milk chai here. It was spicy and only subtly sweet. The baristas were so nice and blew through a long line quickly. The interior has plenty of seating, is clean, and the aesthetic is very appealing mix of industrial with wooden furniture and beams; it suits the neighbourhood. There's a Little Free Library inside. The pastries looked so good, I wish I hadn't eaten already this morning so I could try one!

Yelp
My partner and I love this place so much we've parked nearby, walked here, and took our scooters here. The cafe is pretty large with plenty of seating. Beautiful interior art and brick interior. I am very particular with drip coffee and this is the place to enjoy a drip or any type of coffee drink. The baristas are super friendly and eclectic, it's make each experience more enjoyable.
google avatar

Vivian O.

Yelp
I came here spontaneously because it looked really cozy inside (look how cute the brick and artwork is)! I didn't look close enough when I was here, but I realized in my pictures that there's a little free library! It's such a cute touch to the cafe, and I do think you could get good reading/ studying done here. It wasn't too busy, but I also came on a Monday an hour or two before closing. The cashier was really friendly and drinks were made fast! I ended up getting the jam cornbread and an 8oz chai latte ($8 total). Honestly they were both very mid, I think my chai could have been more flavorful. I probably won't come here again, it was just okay. But it is spacious and a good place to chat with a friend if you're in the area!

Kimmy T.

Yelp
DJ had great customer service. He answered all of my questions and made me one of the best white mocha I have ever had. :)
google avatar

Tim G.

Yelp
Excellent coffee and pretty good pastries. Plus, they open early at 6 am during the weekdays. Service was quick and friendly, given how busy they were.
google avatar

Art G.

Yelp
Atmosphere is fantastic and although the options for specialty coffee are a bit limited, their coffee, chai, and matcha is incredibly good. If you haven't tried the lavender cakes those are excellent!
google avatar

MacKenzie M.

Yelp
Yummy coffee and love the atmosphere. Treats are good too. Highly suggest this coffee shop over others nearby.

Yelp
Really freaking good coffee. Zeitgeist Coffee has become my regular coffee spot before going into the office as the coffee is bold and dark roasted, staff is always friendly and the space is inviting and welcoming. For the best coffee in Pioneer Square and probably, one of the best coffee spots in Seattle, visit Zeitgeist Coffee. Zeitgeist Coffee has the usual offerings that you'd find at any coffee shop, but if you're a drip coffee person and just want to wake the heck up because you have a meeting in 15 minutes, this is the coffee that'll do just that. And it's good. The drip is my usual, but because of the quality of the coffee served here, any coffee drink from here will do. But if coffee isn't your thing, they have teas, along with pastries from Macrina Bakery, sandwiches and some refrigerated items for takeout, like yogurt, salads, etc. Most people come here in the morning for takeout, including moi, but the space is nice and large for groups. There's even a free library for books to donate and take, along with newspapers for sale. Start a punch card if you're a regular, which I am becoming. I ain't mad about it either. See you bright and early.
google avatar

Minly L.

Yelp
Walking in, you are greeted with what I can best describe has historic and homey interiors. Just the atmosphere itself made me want to stay for hours. Drinks wise, the coffee was superb. We ordered both the white and dark mocha, I preferred the dark mocha, breve, and the drip coffee. All of which curved our need for caffeine
google avatar

Kyle C.

Yelp
Probably my favorite coffee shop in town! The music is always awesome (shout out to the staff for that), and the layout inside is perfect. Love all the table space facing the window. Good place to post up and read or write while you people-watch.

L H.

Yelp
Amazing customer service and even better coffee. You can tell they truly love what they do and it shows in the quality of their product!
google avatar

Nick B.

Yelp
Great spot for coffee and good music while waiting for Amtrak around the corner. 5 of us, 5 different drinks, and all were delicious. Well worth the short walk from King Street station,
google avatar

Sarina K.

Yelp
Walked inside to caffeinate With a menu offering many options, how great! Ordered an iced matcha and Americana to-go, Matcha at first sip, I realized is more than just show. Service was quick, we did not wait a while, And the baristas even served us with smiles. Overall would come again, I'd say; To study, hangout, or if it has been a long day!

Kaylee L.

Yelp
a classic pioneer square staple. my dad worked in smith tower for years and this was my favorite spot to meet him. love it
google avatar

Jeff W.

Yelp
Staff here was awesome, line moved quickly, Americano was excellent as were breakfast foods. And the vibe! Industrial and fits well with the hood.
google avatar

Yelp
My team and I were staying at a hotel nearby and needed coffee before another engagement. We checked out this spot since it's only a block away from our hotel. This is such a cute coffee shop with its brick walls. I got a hazelnut latte with oat milk and my coworkers also got some coffee and some pastries. The coffee and pastries/sandwiches were just ok. Nothing special in terms of the coffee itself and the syrup. Also, they said the pastries/sandwiches needed more flavor.
google avatar

Emma B.

Yelp
Best coffee I had in Seattle. Got my usual sugar free vanilla latte, it wasn't too heavy on the foam - great coffee. Decent prices. Did the breakfast ham sandwich (the ten minute wait seems weird) - comes out burning hot. The ham wasn't bad, added good flavour to the sandwich, egg was almost rich and creamy, needed more chipotle mayo. Not sure what kind of bread was used, didn't appear to be an English muffin unless they crisped the hell out of it, came across as a pastry. They had a good flow of traffic on a Monday morning, line was almost out of the door at one stage.
google avatar

Hanna S.

Yelp
1. Friendly service. 2. Excellent latte with bobs red mill instant oatmeal as an option. They filled it with warm oat milk instead of water per their suggestion and did not charge me extra. Thank you. ( compare to When I was at PCC Bellevue and suggested to get the warmed oat milk, The woman just was like no it's with water. Even though I offered to pay more money.) 3. High ceilings, lots of places to sit. A few outside tables. 4. Clean. Some reading paper options too If you were in the area I recommend it. And again thank you to the team- they were fabulous.
google avatar

Greg C.

Yelp
Fabulous coffee in a cute and convenient coffee shop near King Street Station and Lumen Field. Barista was helpful by putting my lid on the cup.
google avatar

Brandon C.

Yelp
We were in Seattle visiting family and my mother in law recommended this place because she knows I like cool local coffee spots. The inside is all brick with original artwork adorning the walls. It definitely has the "hip neighborhood coffee shop" vibe. It is spacious with plenty of seating. I like the bar seating facing the street because you can people watch in a big city while sipping your brew. I did not interact with the staff, but my family said the manager was a little grumpy because she cut her vacation short to cover for 2 people that quit. Maybe it is time to raise the wages here. I got a regular black coffee that ended up being pretty tasteless. It was disappointing because places like this usually blow away the chains on flavor. My wife enjoyed the pastry she got though. I liked the vibe and ambiance of this place, but the coffee wasn't very good. However, "Zeitgeist" is one of my favorite words so points to them for that!
google avatar

Eric B.

Yelp
Nice find around the corner from our hotel near Pioneer Square. Nice atmosphere with pleasant and helpful staff. They also had a well stocked pastry case. The Heavy Breve and Latte were quite nice. I'll be back next time I'm in the "neighborhood".
google avatar

Kirby H.

Yelp
kids hot chocolate kinda tastes like coffee cinnamon bun was not fresh out of the oven but it's still great
google avatar

Ned L.

Yelp
The 'spirit of the times' has high ceilings, plenty of seating, bracing espresso drinks expertly crafted and light airy music. The service was fine and offers discounts for paying cash. The café is located across the street from the Klondike museum which opens at 10am, so it's the perfect place to wait.
google avatar

Beverly W.

Yelp
My café mocha lite was perfect, not too sweet n not bitter. Definitely not "dirty water" as one reviewer from Brazil mentioned. I think it'll give me a delayed burst of energy. Boy, these homeless ppl sure hv guts to ask for free money just cuz I'm tapping on an iPhone doing this review. So sad to see how SEA has become. It seems the city doesn't care that its home is unloved.
google avatar

Kayla P.

Yelp
i always come here after i walk my boyfriend to work and i really like it! in terms of drinks, so far i've only gotten iced+hot matcha lattes from here and both are very good! their drinks come unsweetened unless you ask--i believe simple syrup is free? :3 i had their unsweetened hot matcha latte this morning and it was so yum!! it was smooth and tasted slightly nutty. i think next time i'll ask for some simple syrup just because i like my matcha a little sweet. i also got the veggie breakfast sandwich, which was also very delicious :-) and the baristas are nice!!
google avatar

M H.

Yelp
Beautiful spot, big open windows and good coffee. Had the lavender latte and it was delightful. Also recommend the dark chocolate mocha. Quite atmosphere but plenty of people, cozy vibe. Good place for a chill coffee catch up or doing some work.
google avatar

Cassidy D.

Yelp
Popped In here for a quick stop before heading out to sight see for the day. The matcha was decent, but the bacon cheddar scone was to die for. So good I wish I had gotten another for later. Close proximity to the train station, embassy suites hotel and the stadium. The lady working the register didn't seem happy to be there, but I enjoyed my breakfast bite nonetheless.
google avatar

Casey S.

Yelp
Fantastic coffee shop in Pioneer Square. Exposed brick, local art, independent newspapers, and none of it feels douchey. Reasonable prices, especially considering the location. Stop in!
google avatar

Yelp
A few friends and I wanted to pick a coffee shop to sit at and have some coffee and breakfast while waiting for some more members of our party to arrive in the area. Coffee was great pretty standard - nothing super special or different flavors for specialty drinks. Breakfast wasn't a huge highlight - I ordered the breakfast sandwich and was really excited to have a little spicy Mayo drizzled on there to get that morning kick. The sandwich was warm, but it didn't have a ton of flavor. I didn't taste the spicy Mayo at all, and it was a pretty regular sandwich. The space is nice, but I'd probably explore the other coffee places around here before returning to this one. Nothing was bad, but nothing was really good either.
