"Even if Zeitgeist isn’t your favorite outdoor patio bar, something about it makes it feel like the outdoor patio bar in SF. It’s big and covered in gravel, random signs, and picnic tables, and has pretty much every type of person under the sun (that would hang out in a dive). "If Zeitgeist was a person, he would be covered in tattoos, smell like stale beer (while claiming to only drink bourbon), and rant about the vampiric effect the tech bubble has had on San Francisco’s culture. You always get the feeling that this Mission bar both loves and hates you - you can generally get in without a wait, but they’ll always make it seem like they’re doing you a favor. Zeitgeist continues to be worth it though, especially during the day when you and all your friends can head to the big back patio, take over one of the picnic tables, and order too many pitchers of beer. "The graveled backyard at Zeitgeist feels like it could be on the other side of The Sandlot ballfield, with graffiti and random signs everywhere, but instead of a mythic giant dog, there are picnic tables you can sit at. Whenever we have big plans to do absolutely nothing, this is where you’ll find us. Grab a pitcher of one of the craft beers they have on tap and settle in for an afternoon of slowly letting your phone die in your pocket while not caring because you’re exactly where you’re supposed to be." - will kamensky
