Zelda's catered our wedding this April (2017). While the food was tasty and beautifully presented on the day of, the customer service was terrible leading up to our event. Working with Zelda's was in fact the most stressful part of planning our wedding. Linda, president of the catering company and our contact throughout this ordeal, did not respond to our emails promptly or thoroughly -- we had to follow up, sometimes multiple times, before she would respond to our messages, and when she did, she often only answered some of the questions we had posed.
But the biggest issue was signing off on our final menu plan. We met Linda in January for our tasting, made some changes to our initial menu selections, and then Linda said she would send us a final menu for us to sign "next week." Five weeks later, she still had not sent it. When we followed up, we also asked for a few additional changes to the menu (we changed our minds about an appetizer, for instance). Long story short, we didn't receive the final menu for another ten weeks: a week before our wedding and the day before our payment was due. And that so-called final menu did not even have any of the changes we had requested at the tasting in January, or the changes we had made afterward! Because the menu was so late, and so inaccurate, my husband ended up having to take the afternoon off work to drive 45 minutes to Linda's office to resolve the issue in person and drop off our check. Needless to say, this was all an extremely frustrating experience. To our great relief, the menu was executed at the wedding as we had planned.
Our only complaint about the day of is that the wait staff came out with entrees in the middle of the best man's speech, walking right across the dance floor, blocking everyone's (including the groom and our videographer's) view of the speech. Then they did it again during the father of the groom's speech!
In summary, if you work with Zelda's, be prepared to be vigilant about following up on emails, and check through all of your paperwork carefully. We certainly do not believe Linda created these difficulties for us on purpose, but there are definitely some efficiency and organizational issues that need to be resolved.
