I had lunch at Zella’s today and, based on this experience, do not plan to return; which is sad because I really wanted to love this place, we need a good deli in town. However, several items we attempted to order were unavailable, including core offerings one would reasonably expect from a deli. They did not have matzo ball soup, knishes (despite signage advertising them as the daily special), or turkey.
We also ordered a glass of white wine, which was served at room temperature. Additionally, one member of our party received the incorrect entrée (chicken parmesan instead of a chicken cutlet). The coleslaw was drowning in mayonnaise and mustard, rendering it inedible. The potato chips were overcooked and without seasoning.
Overall, the staff appeared disengaged and not particularly attentive. Given the number of stronger options in town, I would recommend looking elsewhere for a quality sandwich.
