I recently tried out Zen Curry House Express and I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised! Let me start by stating that the staff members are very nice. Super helpful and friendly. They even took the time to explain the new menu items and the heat levels of their curry, which I heard can be very hot. I opted for level 3, which was very mild but still had a nice kick to it. The Chicken Katsu with steamed rice was absolutely delicious. The chicken was perfectly crispy and juicy, the rice was cooked just right, and the curry was so flavorful that I could have easily drank it from a faucet. The only downside was that the drinks were canned soda with no refills, but they did offer complimentary water from a water station, which was a nice touch. Overall, my first experience at Zen Curry House Express was a great one and I will definitely be back for more. If you're looking for a casual spot with delicious curry dishes, this is the place to go.

I thoroughly enjoyed the food. I had kaarage curry with spice level 7. I really enjoy spicy food and this had a small heat to it. Probably I will do 9 next time. I just moved to the states and the curry was really good. I also had Thai chai tea which was really delicious. They also have other menu and I plan to eat yakisoba next time. Owner was amazing. He came out and greeted us and we enjoyed his company.

Zen Japanese Curry House Express delivered an outstanding experience from start to finish. The curry was full-flavored and we’re talking truly authentic Japanese — rich, deep, and bursting with umami. You can dial up the heat to a perfect “10” if that’s your thing, but even the standard level was spot-on. Everything is made from scratch, and you can taste that commitment in every bite. The staff were knowledgeable, guiding us through spice levels and menu picks—super helpful without being pushy. The atmosphere was casual and upbeat, with a friendly vibe that felt genuine. If Japanese curry is your jam, this place nails it. No frills, just excellent curry, solid service, and a clean, welcoming space. Highly recommended.

This is the QSR (quick serve) version of its sister property in China town. Food quality is just as good at the other site. Prices are good, I find the push for tipping to be odd being quick serve, but if you want some good curry dishes in a hurry it's a great spot to go.

This is just a small place that is mostly for take-out or delivery. They have some tables inside that you can sit and eat at if you choose, but there is no wait staff and it looks like a grade school cafeteria inside. However, the food itself is pretty great. The rice was cooked well and the pork and chicken cutlets were crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I also liked the Shumai, although I would skip the spicy mustard that comes with it. Great spot if you're just wanting to eat some good food. But definitely not a spot to bring a date or anyone you're trying to impress. Last time we were here, the girl who took our order was wearing pajama pants and fuzzy slippers (not a judgement, just an observation).

The absolute best curry! 🤤 The tofu curry was so crispy. The karaage chicken curry was so delicious, crunchy and flavorful! You get to choose your spice level. I get a level 4 and my daughter gets a level 8. 🥵

Pre Covid we tried this place and it’s good, then we tried the one In Spring mtn we find that location much better plus a better selections on the menu. I do have a review about them too. We we’re in the area so tried this place again but very disappointed with the amount of food they serve almost half of the bowl and the taste changed the Japanese curry noodle are very watered down while noodles were sticking to each other, it won’t separate that I have to bite in a big blob. The Yaki udon was just soy saucy too salty for our taste and barely any noodles served. Karaage is descent but again the same curry sauce…. Will skip from now on.

Great Customer Service, Clean Tables, Mediocre Curry. My rice was just one big homogeneous clump of rice with no redeeming qualities, and was unpleasant to eat. The Chicken Katsu cutlet was okay, but just tasted like chicken nothing else just an abundance of chicken flavor. The curry was really good.

That was good! Order: Beef curry w/veggies Spice level: 2 Will definitely order from this restaurant again. I placed a delivery order via Grubhub. Food was very delicious and flavorful. Spice level tasted more like a 3/4, but just right for my tastebuds, despite the mild kick. Maybe next time, it'll be a 1.

My solid go to spot for fast Japanese curry. Staff here is always friendly and the food always comes out hot and fast. The inside has a moderate amount of seating and they keep it clean. It is a bit weird, however, having to go to refill my own water from the water machine so often since the provided water cups are pretty small.

DELICIOUS and very authentic tasting. I added cheese and corn to my curry plate. I also ordered a side of fried gyoza and naan bread. I love how on the menu they tell you all the spices that go into their curry I thought that was really cool. The staff is always very nice when we go, and one of the waiters recommended some of the new tasty drinks they have and I'm so glad he did because they were awesome! The prices are extremely reasonable, I was surprised at how low the bill was for 2 people with sides and drinks.

If you're a fan of curry, you definitely have to check this place out. I love that they had so many different protein options for the curry. I got the calamari and it was fantastic! My husband got the Japanese meatloaf and that one was also delicious. The meatloaf was super tender and tasty. Be aware of their spice levels! They're a little spicier than average. I got a 3 and it was perfect for me but anything more would have been too much (for what I can handle!) The service was good and the girl who helped us was very friendly.

Hands down my favorite curry spot!! There is no other place that I have found in town that beats this curry! Everything in the menu is amazing and the service is so fast that we don't even need to order ahead because it's such a short wait when we arrive and order our food to go.

I ate a pork Katsu curry with brown rice. I felt the owners devotion and love to all humanity. Food is love ! I recommend you this great Japanese curry.

I found Zen Curry on Yelp when I was missing my favorite Japanese Curry shop back home. I decided to go solo to treat myself to a chicken katsu plate and takoyaki. The restaurant itself feels mom and pop, nothing too fancy about it. Understandably, as it's an express restaurant and people are constantly ordering takeout. I decided to dine in for a full experience and ended up not being the only one in the restaurant. This a place where you serve yourself water from the water dispenser and put your plates away in a tray at the end of your meal. The only thing I didn't enjoy about my experience is the music get blasted here and the employees get loud. Again, understandable since most orders are takeout. I ended up putting my AirPods in and listening to a podcast. More importantly, the food here is pretty good. The curry plate was presented plain and simple. Curry to the side, with the katsu on top of rice. It was a big portion, but I came hungry and finished the whole thing. The takoyaki was made perfectly. The flavors, textures, and presentation were satisfying. I scarfed everything down. Next time I order from here, I'd prefer to takeout. I hope that doesn't compromise freshness or quality of food!

Zen used to be the best curry spot here in Vegas. I still love it just need a new supplier for the chicken. This is the 3rd time the chicken is inedible. Curry's bomb tho just the chicken is dry.

Our first time here and it reminded us of Curry House in Hawaii. Similar restaurant, similar menu... I had the regular curry rice and I added oysters instead of the meat they have in the menu. This reminds me of Hawaii. It was delicious. I wish they add this in the menu. But no worries, I know how to order it. Lol. We liked it so much, we ordered two more entry to take home. 5 Stars.

Always consistently great and affordable food. This is their take-out location so the interior decor isn't as fancy as the Spring Mountain location, but the service is still friendly and fast. Will keep coming back!

To be honest, we kind of forgot about Zen Curry Express when they opened in the Southwest. We would see them and know they were always there, but it wasn't on our radar much. During covid, we did a few pick up orders and was reminded of how comforting their food was. And as a result, we started putting them back into our rotation. The pork tonkatsu curry ($12.95) is just good and comforting. And the amount of curry is generous. We always have leftovers and I love having plenty of sauce. We usually get about 2-3 orders for our little party of four. I also started added the tofu katsu ($4) as a side because I love tofu and the crunch is so satisfying. If you want any spice, it's an added cost. And they don't always give you the red pickles so be sure to ask for them. It makes great leftovers too, especially if you have an air fryer. Sure, the restaurant setting isn't fancy and it's very casual. (You order at the counter and take a seat after all.) So, as long as you know what you're there for, which is the curry, you'll be content.

I recently ordered from Zen Curry Express on Uber Eats and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of their food. I decided to try their chicken and pork katsu curry and I was blown away by how delicious it was. We love coming here. Our favorite Japanese curry. Our daughter loves their karaage. The service is great. The ambience is great. Fresh cooked food. Perfectly made. I love the pork katsu and my hubby likes the chicken katsu. I love spicy so I would have my curry on level 10 on the spicy scale, 9 most of the times, but that's it. So good

I ordered a non curry and specifically said 0 spice no spicy. My kid cannot eat spicy. and when I arrived home the curry was at least a 3 or 4 level spice. Please have a manager contact me if you value your service and business.

I went there with my gf and did not get disappointed. The food was actually amazing and the service is fast. The only thing is the restaurant is a little bit small and could use more space:) I definitely recommend the chicken katsu because of the crispiness and the tenderness of this meat. Takoyaki is really also good but can use more sauce;p chicken karaage just needs to be more crispier but overall it's pretty good! Definitely would come back for the chicken katsu and try the pork katsu.

Ordered two double pork entrees with corn and ginger on one and ginger on the other. Got two orders of tofu salad as well, because I told my uncpe that it was the bomb. Came home and no corn, no ginger... and no tpfu salad dressing. Pretty disappointed.

My go to spot when wanting japanese curry!! Workers are always friendly, food is always top notch!

Ordered take out on July 5th. Got home and and I didn't get the extra chicken Katsu for my chicken Katsu curry plate, didn't get my side sausage and instead of shumai I got gyoza. I called and spoke with Jade to tell her of my order since I was charged. She said she will give me my order and I let her know I live 10+ minutes away and I do not want to drive back as I just came home from work and I requested a refund. She said ok and I refunded you. Took her word for it as it is a same day transaction. No credit refunded back and basically paid for food that I didn't get.

Service is not horrible but not great-- too inconsistent from the spring mountain location and often things are forgotten or lacking such as the little to no sauce on my Takoyaki or the lack of spice in a spicy level 9. Like seriously, I could have fed this curry to my baby. Fried things still have a crunchy and light panko crust but hubby's pork was dry and rubbery... I live right down the street from this location but honestly I'll just do the 15 min drive to spring mountain than ever eat at this place again. Also SUPER dirty here... would not even let me kids lean on the wall or dine in here... geez.

The most heavenly curry. Better than all the other spots in Vegas. Spice levels 1-10, vegetarian and vegan options. Plenty of meat for the carnivore friends. Not a fancy place but the food is super worth it. Lots of parking, family friendly, lots of spots for dessert for after if you have any space left in your belly!!

Husband and I had a great experience with Zen Curry Express. The food was delicious, and the cashier and chefs were all really cool. We came hungry and ready to eat. It was only 5 PM, yet there was a constant steady stream of customers the entire time we were dining in. Lots of take out orders predominantly. We each ordered a chicken katsu with vegetable curry and brown rice. My husband also added extra fried shrimp to his, and we also shared an order of takoyaki. The takoyaki was fresh and savory. The chicken katsu is not the best katsu in the world; not like when you go to a Japanese restaurant with big succulent chicken and crispy batter. But this is like a fast food restaurant almost, so it was pretty good for what it was. Not to mention, without any crazy upcharges, I got to have brown rice instead of white rice. The curry, also not like the best curry in the world, was great for a fast food joint. It was comfort food, and the meal hit the spot. We got exactly what we paid for, and the service was great. The kid behind the counter was very friendly and brought out everyone's food when honestly he could've just called out the names. The chefs were randomly even singing in the background while working. Would definitely come back for quality/price/ease/convenience/service.

The customer service is a 10/10, they welcomed us and greeted us as we were leaving. As for the food, I ordered the Chicken Katsu curry (level 2). It was tasty! Level 2 was not as hot compared to level 4 that my friend had. I think I could have gone for maybe the level 3. If you have very low tolerance to spicy foods like me, go for level 2 or 3, you can bare it. If you like spicy even though your tolerance is very low, go for level 4 or 5 and level 5 is like MAX for those who can't handle spicy food like me. Other than that, they served it on paper plates (I think because of covid, all the previous photos looked like actual dishes which must've been pre-COVID times). They give you a huge amount, like my plate was FULL. I had to take half home because I got full really fast. The chicken katsu tasted fresh and so good with the curry. They also have brown rice option for those who don't like white rice. I would recommend coming here if you want a quick curry meal!

Tucked into the middle of a shopping mall, like most other hidden gems is this savory spot that I adore. Equally as good as the Curry Zen in Chinatown but no wait and zero ambiance, but that's what I like about it. I'm not trying to hype myself up on the decor and aesthetic, I just want good quality and even better taste. This place is amazing for that. The curry flavor is delicious regardless of heat level --but my sweet spot is a 6 or 7 depending on the weather. The chicken karaage isn't fatty or greasy like most other places but firm and tender but crispy and juicy & at a good price for the portion; I love the spicy mayo and lemon that accompany it. Definitely give this place a shot!

Our favorite spot for Japanese curry! Our favorite is the katsu chicken curry level 7 with brown rice. The portions are great, the food is always hot, and service is always really friendly. They also have brown rice, and its perfect! Not too soggy, not too dry. We go to this location about 2-3 times a month and they are always consistent. Not the best for food presentation (paper plates) and the interior could use a fresh coat of paint, but if you want great, consistent food at a great price, this location is it!

First visit experience with Zen curry: I called in my lunch order and it was seamless. Almost immediately after, I called back to make a quick adjustment and it was no problem. I picked it up and paid and ordered the Curry Katsu with spice level 5 which is pretty decently spicy but very good. The portions were nice for $12. Now I go to Zen curry fairly often and service is always great and the food is up there with it!

Welp, I wrote a not-so good review a few years ago, but we have been back here over the years as the food is usually ok and the Japanese curry craving needs to be satisfied. However, the first thing I saw walking in tonight was the "B" rating from the health district. So, OK, we thought it's been posted and hopefully all issues/demerits were addressed and awaiting a new inspection. However, in observing the young staff tonight, it's quite clear how the B rating may be more the rule than the exception as we had hoped. The staff handle the orders just fine, but in an unsupervised high school cafeteria manner. There seemed to be no managerial supervision or anyone of manager status at all. Which leads me to what was the final deal breaker. A young man on the staff had come out from the prep area to talk to some friends in the dining area. He's the guy in the beanie hat and had one latex prep glove on his right hand. In the course of the interaction, he takes the headphones off his friends head for a quick listen and gives them back and adjusts his beanie for a perfect Bieber look. Ok, so far so good, he's contaminated his working hands, but for sure he'll correct that when he gets back in the prep area. So back he goes and he grabs another glove for his left hand and proceeds to put his headphones on and manipulates on his cell phone for about 7 minutes. So far no hand washing and one new glove now already contaminated by headphones and cellphone. Finally he sets the phone down and gets back to work. Now, is he the dish washer or has some other "dirty job" that oh my god I was hoping for to ease my building icky-ness? No he's not and does not. He gets to work prepping the RAW chicken with what looks like an egg and panko dredge. Sweet baby Jesus in a manger! I doubt there has been any proper food handling training anywhere in the place. However, what should we expect in a "B" rated, dingy hole in the wall with an unsupervised staff of youngsters. Sure, the food can be tasty, but it's not rocket science to warm up curry blocks, cook rice and pretty much fry the rest. Just follow the proper food handling guidelines while doing it. I don't blame the young staff for their ignorance or lack of GAF (give a f@&$), but certainly the apparent missing management presence is to blame. And, if that wasn't bad enough, my wife's chicken katsu was tougher than ever had been before. Just adding to the now forevermore suspicion that will keep us away, as well as you other smart people.

What: authentic Japanese style curry (my Japanese mom approves!). This is express so it is quicker and serves on paper plates and plastic utensils (compared to their Chinatown location). This is the same quality food, so this is great when we are in a hurry or near this area. We usually get the chicken katsu curry and croquette curry, spice level zero (it's already spicy). Sometimes my hubby gets spice level 2, but it costs extra. The panko battered items are fried to perfection - always delivers on consistency. Service: Order at the counter, then they will bring it to you with plastic utensils wrapped with a napkin. You have to ask for the red radish (fukujinzuke). Ambiance: very small with a few tables and a bar-style seating area. This is minimalist (think hole in the wall). Sometimes they play the hip hop music too loud. I wish they would play Japanese pop music instead to add to the authenticity. Location: in shopping plaza near Church's Chicken. We frequent this place often and is a regular go to.

It was my first time at this location, and it was okay. I'm not sure if it was the interior (peeling paint, damaged moldings) but it didn't have the same ambience as the Spring Mountain or North Las Vegas locations. The food was good but my pork cutlet was a bit dry. I really liked the texture of the potato croquette. My friend had the chicken katsy with sausage and cheese and loved hers! For both of us plus canned green teas it was about $45.

place was absolute fire, been tryna find a place as close as to CoCo Ichibanya from san diego and this was definitely the spot. 10/10

food was absolutely delicious. Me and my family enjoy the food very much. There's not a lot of room to sit which is understandable to why they are called and express but it's still very nice to eat. I always get a yaki i udon and it always come out delicious i recommend! but overall the customer service is great and all of the workers are very friendly. I been reading comments and complaints on how the workers are loud and talkative but what do you expect them to do when there's nothing else to do as in no orders or customers? they're young adults and i enjoy them having a great time, i wouldn't want my kids to work in a place they feel horrible. anyways food is delicious, service is amazing, maybe need a touch up on the walls but overall it's a very nice cozy place to eat highly recommended.

Made my stomach sour. Everytime I eat from this one my stomach gets turnt up. Idk if y'all are not following food guidelines or what but I will not be back.

I have never had curry ramen before until I came here. Totally changed my life. When I first heard of curry ramen I was expected to be thicker curry sauce smother on top of noodle and top with ingredient. When I found out it was actually curry based broth, oh man, that was delicious. Texture of the broth is light and you can literally eat it like you would eat soup noodle. Flavor is amazing! you can choose the spicy level on the broth. I don't like it too spicy because I like to enjoy my food. so I got #2 or sometimes #3 which is pretty good and has a good kick to it. #4 is too spicy for me. props to anyone eat pass #6 or even 10 hahaha I have tried their chicken katsu and ton katsu, both pair very well with the curry ramen. I would get that on the side and shared. You can add extra topping in your curry ramen. I like to have extra veggies in my soup, so I usually add corn it. Service is quick and nice. They would bring the food to your table or even take out. will definitely come back and try on their other things on their menu. Stay tunes

Curry is very good. I'm not a spicy kind of guy so I get the spice level of 2 and it still has a kick that I can tolerate. I think the amount of curry and rice is a good portion, but the katsu is ridiculously small. Down the street at one of the Hawaiian spots, they give out at least triple the amount of Katsu with their meal for a cheaper price.

I was ordered a sausage chicken curry It was terrible.! The sausages looks like carbon. Can't eat it at all! Very awful experience

Absolutely love this place. They have just about every meat you can think of with curry, and it's delicious . Some places don't give you enough meat, others not enough rice or curry. You won't have that problem here. Generous portions of each.They also have a heat scale for their curry if you're a true spice lover. The heat is on the pallet and not scorching your taste buds so you don't taste anything. I usually get a 5, which is a perfect balance of flavor and spice. Quick, easy to order, and always perfect. If you're in Chinatown 2.0 and looking for some delicious curry, THIS IS THE SPOT!!!

Severely on the downhill, this express used to be delicious. The standard curry with breaded fried pork was great but the curry ramen pork didn't taste right at all. They boil the pork until it's rubbery and all the fat is melted off. The ramen is ok and watery curry was sour. I guess it's served many ways. But the pork wasn't tasty at all. I was expecting it to taste and look like curry ramen made by Master from Midnight Diner. Instead I got a sour gruel with bits of flavorless un-breaded pork. I asked them to take it back after I had 3 bites. It just didn't sit well with me. They reluctantly took it back. Fortunately, a manager was in the back and said to go ahead and charge me the difference between the curry ramen and the regular pork tonkotsu curry. Customer service was not good. Go back to the original. This place is bawkin' and not crispy clean any more.

The food is quite decent, the spicy level was good and we got the pork katsu, menchi beef and yakisoba. There's a legit Japanese flavor into it. 2 stars because ( And I really hope the owner sees this post) , the Yakisoba was freshly cooked and they throw it directly in the Styrofoam box, which is quite toxic and almost burned a hole through the box. Please be more environmentally friendly and use paper box or please put a piece of foil in between. It's absolutely disgusting

I have an on and off relationship with Zen Curry at this point, I normally come here frequently or not at all. I guess after 8 years it's finally time to make a review! A few things to note: 1. They don't sell alcohol at this location. 2. The options are a bit more limited compared to their dine in locations. Not really a big deal, this is Zen Curry EXPRESS after all. 3. They are currently serving their food in paper plates due to issues regarding distribution companies and labor shortages. None of these are a big deal to me, I'll live. For starters, the menu here is really simplistic while having a good amount of variety. They offer a different range of meat options, different additions for the curry sauce, and a section for appetizers and add-ons. I normally have 2 options here depending if I want to eat healthier or not, either the Spinach Curry with Brown Rice, Corn, and Grilled chicken add-on, or I get the Original Pork/Chicken Katsu. Both options to me are really good regardless of what I choose, the flavor really is in the curry sauce more than anything. With that being said you really have to make sure you mix your plate because the protein by itself is really lackluster and does not have any seasoning. There's also some inconsistencies with the meat, you will either have juicy, properly cooked meat, or you will have a piece of meat that's hovering between some-what juicy and kinda dry. The breading itself is crispy, not too heavy, and thankfully not oily/greasy. So you won't feel like a bloated pig after eating here They give you the option to choose your spice level as well, the range being from 1-10. If you can NOT handle your spice you really should not look to go over level 3, (your stomach will thank you later)! They also have a nice variety of Japanese drinks to choose from which is always a plus if you really like green tea/Ramune. All in all Zen Curry Express maintains a good level of being slightly above average, If I'm craving Japanese curry and I want something cheap, quick, and yummy then you definitely can't go wrong here.

Good food! I had the Beef curry and my Bf ordered the Pork Katsu and Shumai.The only reason I'm giving them 3 stars was because one, I didn't think the up charge for the spice level is necessary and second, the drinking water in the water dispenser had stuff floating around in it. I went next door to buy a bottled water.

The best curry I've had. Can't be topped! Love the service. Overall a great experience. Highly recommend. Chicken Katsu Curry was amazing Curry Udon was delicious. The ambiance was great, a small place and a bit of a wait but it's worth it.

Twice now the vegetable portions have gotten less and less. I got tiny portions of vegetables for my curry last visit and this visit its even less! Like it's barely anything and that's what I order. Vegetable curry... Not sure what's going on there but it's a little disheartening.

10/10. This was recommended to me by like 4 different coworkers. We just went one day. I got the chicken curry, spice level 7-8. Absolute fire! I lovvve spicy food and this was the perfect balance of flavor and heat. This isn't a fancy restaurant. But, the food is top notch and the service was quick.
