Hotel Zenit San Sebastian | Best places to stay in San Sebastian

"Within walking distance of San Sebastian’s main sights and only 100m from La Concha beach, this hotel occupies a golden stone-built convent dating back to 1887, alongside a tall modern extension. The newer section has a sun-drenched roof terrace with a good-sized pool, and modern bedrooms with tranquil, natural-feeling raw woods and pale greens. The smart, slightly retro lobby and lounge – with throw-draped sofas and shelves full of art books – are in the former convent, which is decorated with colourful neo-Renaissance murals and a star-spangled ceiling. The onsite parking (for a fee) is an added bonus for drivers exploring the area. " - Dana Facaros

This is a great little hotel. It's not super fancy but is very nice and has everything you need. Comfy beds and quiet for a good night's sleep, nice bathrooms. Excellent service and a very good restaurant. It's in a quieter neighborhood so you can escape the chaos of the tourist district, but it's only an easy walk or short bus ride from everything. Recommend!

A decent enough hotel where everything works, including a small gym. A few frustrations; it's not possible to book a parking space despite having numbered bays directly under the hotel - why not? For some travellers this is important. The car charing worked fine though (2 bays). No coffee in the rooms, nor free coffee downstairs. Don't eat at the hotel, it's not great, and there's fantastic food EVERYWHERE else. . .

What a great hotel. Very hard to fault at any level apart from the price that was increased for the weekend of our choice, mainly because Bruce Springsteen was playing on the saturday night But having had the same thing in Cardiff etc when prices x4 etc . Still it was a nice hotel and the staff were very accomodating with a Bruce video on non stop in the foyer TV We even had a present of a red neck scarf and poster left on the bed |The hotel is clean comfortable and well situated

Nice & clean hotel with everything you need for a few nights stay. In the restaurant not all the waitresses speak English which gets sometimes problematic but not too much. Overall a great experience.

The cleaning people stole my cat stuffed animal. I am so disappointed in the quality of service that was used to help me locate it. I asked the first day it went missing (Friday the 14th) and continued to ask daily. The staff either told me to "come back later" or that they would write a report later. It wasn't until the LAST day of our trip, when I was on the way out of the hotel, I asked the front desk AGAIN and the lady told me she would write a report, and on my way out the door I gave her my contact. This is extremely disappointing. This apparent four star hotel did not meet those standards. If you want to risk your things being stolen that is the only time you should stay here.

Coming from the gorgeous lobby we expected a more luxurious room, but it was perfectly nice. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. A bit of a walk into the centre of town, but we enjoyed the stroll along the beach. I was disappointed that water was not offered in the rooms. The breakfast, however, was over the top. Fabulous variety and worth having for one morning. Service was exceptionally helpful. However on the day we departed we ordered coffee from room service, which never appeared. After 45 minutes I went down to the restaurant and they simply said they were too busy. Thankfully there was a bakery right across the street.

Perfect spot to spend a little more and get a suite out of the hustle and bustle of the old town. Bus 38 takes you to town in minutes or it's a 15 minute dander down the riverfront.

Yelp
Solid hotel on the outskirts of town. Excellent service. Nice and quiet. If it's important to you like it is for me, amazing water pressure in the shower after a long day of walking. Cold air conditioning. Great coffee at the attached restaurant. Rooftop jacuzzi with ample seating area. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
am disappointed with our stay at the Zenit hotel in San Sebastián. As returning guests who have been coming to this beautiful city for our anniversary for the past 11 years, we were excited to try out a new hotel that we had heard great things about. However, our experience at Zenit has been far from satisfactory. Right from check-in, we encountered issues with our key not working multiple times. This was frustrating and not the kind of welcome we were hoping for. We flew in from an other portion of our vacation and arrived at 11am and was told check in is not until 2pm but we could leave our phone number ,when the room is ready they will call us, no call ever received. Return to the hotel at 4pm expecting to waltz into our room. They had the same 20 min problem in finding our reservation they had at 11am and the room still did not have the extra bed ready at 4pm. Furthermore, despite specifically requesting a room with privacy and a view, we were given a room located just a few doors down from the elevator with a view of a neighboring apartment complex (photo attached). This was not the romantic setting we had hoped for on our special anniversary trip. We noticed a few days before our arrival date that larger rooms, with a bathtub vs just a shower, had become available and asked if we could book one of those when we arrived, at our added expense. We were told no, even after we explained we were willing to change rooms mid booking of our 7 night stay. We booked directly through the hotel and it seemed they were very unwilling to make this stay even the slightest bit special. Additionally, in all our years of staying in San Sebastián, this is the first hotel that did not even acknowledge our anniversary. No congratulations, no special touches in the room - nothing. While I know it's small every other hotel has given a piece of cake or chocolate and bottle of Cava. It was disappointing. The room did not have coffee (a little crazy in Spain )but did provide tea bags. We used the tea bags, expecting them to be replenished, but after 4 days, they have not been restocked

Yelp
This is a pretty cool hotel on the outskirts of town! It was walking distance into the town center, I would say it took about 15 minutes to get to all of the shops and restaurants. The rooms were very clean and well-kept, there was a mini fridge and the bathroom was one of the best I've ever had. I love the rooftop area here, and the hot tub on the roof.
