I had the garlic shrimp and I have to say, it was one of the best sandwiches I have had in a while. The flavors are more of an Asian fusion. I could taste sesame in the dips and the fries as well. The fries are ok, better than many other places with good seasoning. The only issue I had was it leaves a sweet taste in the mouth like fries from any other place. Five guys Cajun style is the best fries hands down

Their Korean beef (bulgogi) Philly style cheese steak was really good. Amazing sauces with the fries though expensive (4.50 for the fries). Their sandwiches come with chips but I don't think I saw that on the menu, happy surprise. Very good chips, had a sweet taste.

I first heard about Zenwich from my coworker who insisted that I try the spicy garlic shrimp sandwich that he got from there-- it definitely was more delicious than I was expecting, given that it was 1.) just a sandwich and 2.) seafood in the Midwest. Went back to try the Mu Ping and was slightly disappointed since my first experience was so good. There was just too much going on in the Mu Ping-- too many veggies and the pork was too fatty for my liking. I ordered the calamari strips too-- the calamari wasn't of the best quality-- I wouldn't know it was calamari unless you told me! Also, it was too breaded and oily for my liking. But yes, I know I ordered those deep fried, so I should have expected, but I still didn't like it. Homemade, seasoned chips come with every sandwich order, which is pretty darn good. I'll probably come back and try the pork katsu or crab cake next. My friend got the Korean cheesesteak, which was pretty damn good!

I used to patronize their original location often when I worked in Elmhurst. It takes a deft culinary hand to pull off fusion, but Zenwich does it over and over again with their delicious sandwiches, homemade sides, and soups. Try the Mu Ping (spicy breaded pork) or the Joesplosion (chicken satay) sandwiches and ask for homemade potato chips on the side! These guys love what they do and it shows in both the food and the service.
