Visited this family owned vinery on a Sunday and what a lovely experience it was! We opted for the wine tasting that was delivered with tidbits of family’s history, grapes trivia, and a lot of warmth. I’m no wine connoisseur, but the wines were great. All in all, cozy space + great service + amazing wines. :)

My husband & I had a very nice visit to this small, family owned winery. I had found it but we were planning on going to nearing Stone Tower (where we’ve been before) because they had more food options. However, traffic turning into ST seemed busy so we opted to go here instead and I’m very happy we did! It was very scenic and relaxing, the staff were kind and knowledgeable, and we really enjoyed the rose. I would have liked more food options, especially vegetarian, but the snack box was sufficient and we got food afterward. Overall, it was a very nice afternoon spent on their porch sipping wine.

Probably one of the best vineyards I have visited on the east coast! I definitely felt welcomed and at home with this family of wine makers, they were exceptionally kind and friendly as were their staff. The wines were delicious and well made, a stand out in particular is their sparkling chardonel. You can tell the wine maker put a lot of time and effort into making this wine fantastic! Thank you all again for your hospitality and genuinity and I will be sure to be back with other wine enthusiasts!!

Google
A very beautiful setting . The wines on the tasting menu were u quite blends of different wines. The owners are very accommodating. We enjoyed our experience.

Nestled in the heart of Virginia's wine country, Zephaniah Farm Vineyard offers an extraordinary wine tasting experience that transcends the ordinary. This family-owned estate seamlessly blends historical charm with exceptional hospitality, creating an unforgettable destination for wine enthusiasts and history buffs alike. The highlight of our visit was the remarkably personal touch provided by our host, who went above and beyond by offering an intimate tour of the property's historical home. As you walk through the carefully preserved rooms, you can feel the rich tapestry of family history woven into every corner. The stories passed down through generations add a unique dimension to the wine-tasting experience, making each sip more meaningful. The vineyard's grounds are nothing short of spectacular. Rolling hills dotted with meticulously maintained vines create a picturesque landscape that's particularly enchanting during sunset, when the golden light bathes the entire property in a warm glow. The outdoor seating areas are thoughtfully positioned to take advantage of these stunning views, making it an ideal spot for both casual tastings and special occasions. Each vintage we tried, tells its own story, carefully crafted to reflect both the heritage of the land and modern winemaking expertise. The tasting experience is educational yet approachable, perfect for both novices and experienced wine connoisseurs. What truly sets Zephaniah apart is its authenticity. Unlike some more commercialized vineyards, this feels like stepping into someone's beloved home – because it is. The historical significance of the property, combined with the family's evident passion for winemaking, creates an atmosphere that's both sophisticated and warmly welcoming. Highlights: - Exceptional personal tours of the historical family home - Breathtaking sunset views over the vineyard - Outstanding wine selection and tasting experience - Rich family history and heritage - Beautiful, well-maintained grounds - Intimate, authentic atmosphere Whether you're a local wine enthusiast or a tourist exploring Virginia's wine country, Zephaniah Farm Vineyard stands out as a must-visit destination. It's more than just a vineyard – it's a living piece of Virginia's agricultural and cultural heritage, offering an experience that will linger in your memory long after the last sip of wine.

We went there on a Sunday (11:30am). Had the wine tasting, where the staff explained the history of the place and the wines that were being served. Also, we had a tour with Bill, the owner. Amazing experience; he is very passionate and knowledgeable about the history of the place. Wine was exquisite, our group’s favorite were Friendship and Adeline. My group had a different experience and we totally LOVED it!

Google
A Hidden Gem with Warm Hospitality! We stumbled upon this charming vineyard and discovered a treasure trove of wine, warmth, and welcoming hearts! Bill Hatch's understated introduction belied the rich history of this 200-year-old winery, beautifully articulated by Lulu. *Highlights* 1. *Warm Welcome*: Rob's friendly demeanor made us feel right at home. 2. *Family-Friendly*: My kids (12 & 9) loved the ambiance and felt included. 3. *Non-Pretentious*: Unassuming, down-to-earth atmosphere, perfect for a cozy visit. 4. *Wine Varieties*: Excellent selection for tasting, showcasing their winemaking expertise. 5. *Knowledgeable Staff*: Lulu's passion for the winery's history and wine-making process shone through. *Experience* From the moment we arrived, we felt like part of the family, gathered for Thanksgiving. The rustic charm and lack of glitz only added to the vineyard's allure. *Recommendation* Zephaniah Farm Vineyard is a must-visit for: - Wine enthusiasts seeking authentic experiences - Families seeking welcoming environments - Those craving warmth and hospitality

Google
We stopped in here for a tasting and tour. The wines were phenomenal. Loved pretty much everything we tried. We got a tour of the cellars and house from Bill (one of the owners) and he was so knowledgeable and a great story teller. We will definitely return!

Yelp
It was so cute. We go to vineyards and do tastings quite frequently and I can't say enough good things about them. Their staff was amazing and willing to tell us the history of the place and the wines. Overall it was a great experience and I will for sure be back!

Yelp
Zephaniah is one of the local places that when my group told the other wineries we visited we were going/had gone, they were impressed we knew what it was. It must be some kind of local secret. Well more people should check out this local secret because the combination of the historic and well kept family land and the colorful characters make this a must visit. We were greeted immediately upon entering by the owners, who kindly set us up in rocking chairs on the beautiful porch overlooking the farm (with a view of their impressive circa 1840s brick farmhouse). The wine itself is nothing crazy notable (with the exception of the Adeline, which smacks you with delicious stone fruit notes I did not find anywhere else in VA), and it's a 4 wine tasting versus the typical 6 in the region, but it's definitely worth the experience. Just one more thing, don't let the old southern family and pre-boomer owners make you think this place is exclusionary. There's a pretty unsubtle way they make sure when you walk up you know everyone will receive the same warm welcome, which made me love them more.

Yelp
Looking for weekend plans? Visit Zephaniah Farm Vineyard in Loudoun County! Bonnie and Bill made us feel like old friends with their insight, kindness, and generosity. With $20 tastings and $15 wine by the glass, they turned our experience into something truly unforgettable. I can't wait to go back! Everything was so peaceful and the outdoor seating with the rocking chairs made me feel right at home.

Yelp
So, i like small, family owned wineries. This is one of those hidden gems, it would be nice if Loudoun County Wine Association would publish a list (or tour) of these smaller and more personal operations. But first, of the wineries i visited on this day, this was the only one where multiple members of our group purchased wine. All to say, the wines are good. this is a bring your own food establishment, except for some potato chips. The owners were on hand, and i had a delightful conversation with the wife about their wine making operation how they got their wine names and history. I

Yelp
We had a very memorable experience here. We originally tried to book a lunch reservation here but were told we could not due to having an infant in tow. We decided instead to do a picnic lunch outside. Upon arriving, my husband spontaneously decided to ask if they provide tours. I was sure we'd get denied but to my absolute surprise, one of the staff readily agreed. Upon introducing himself, we learned that he was the original vineyard owner's grandson named Tremaine. He explained to us that the operation (which also includes a beef farm) was still family run. He took us out to the grape field and gave us an overview of how grapes are grown. On the way back, he showed us where they grow "table grapes" meant for eating and even gave us some to sample. These aren't even for sale and it seems are for the family to enjoy so I was taken aback that he gave them to us so readily. The grapes had seeds, which he had told us, and a very sweet gelatinous consistency and tasted amazing. He also didn't charge anything for this spontaneous tour. We were very touched by the whole experience. At the conclusion, Tremaine took us to the tasting room. We sat on the patio area and did a wine tasting. The young female employee that helped us was also similarly helpful and attentive. Overall, our experience here was fantastic and hard to top. This was our favorite vineyard thus far in Loudoun County. It may not be the biggest nor have the grandest views per se but the people working there seem to genuinely enjoy interacting with you.

Yelp
Updating my old review since they have a lot more outside seating space and the new(ish) tasting room with an outside deck space in the back. Still a more mellow outdoorsy experience than many of the other wineries in the area. The property is beautiful with lots of trees and flowers. It is an active farm, so you may also see sheep and cattle. Service has always been excellent. Recommend the 2018 Rosé, 2017 Three Captains Red and the 2017 Cabernet Franc. All good wines at very reasonable prices. Reservations can be made via Tock at https://www.exploretock.com/zephaniahfarmvineyard

Yelp
3.5 stars. They do have a glowing review and I checked out this place. They are very low key, their main seating area can house at most 20 people in their balcony. It started raining on the day we came, so the balcony was the only option. Because it is small, I could hear everyone's conversation and I don't really like that. Wine is okay. I was not particularly drawn to any of the ones we tasted, so it was a bit disappointing. I did however, like the fact that they are quieter and you could get more personalized attention unlike some extra commercialized wineries.

Isabel T.

Yelp
Everything about the place is great. The owner always has time to spend with clients. Wines are good also, and the setting is very tranquil

Yelp
Popped into this winery for a tasting while in the area for strawberry picking. We had found Zephaniah on a Yelp search for highly rated wineries in the area and we were not disappointed! My companion and I did a tasting flight - $20 for four pours, plus a bonus pour for each of us. The wine was delicious and the staff were very friendly - we learned about the winery's history and were so pleased with this last minute find. The farmhouse was very cutely decorated and would be a great place to host an event. Highly recommend stopping by for all your local wine needs!

Peter G.

Yelp
Went to Stone Tower first but we left early because it felt like/is a tourist trap and packed with people. Glad we stopped by here for wine tasting. More chill and better customer service experience. Great wine options in small batches. The deck was great with a relaxing view!
google avatar

Yelp
Very beautiful spot. Red wine blend was excellent in my humble opinion. Also had cheese and crackers. Cheese was from a local farm. Staff very friendly and attentive. A great way to spend an afternoon with family and friends.

Yelp
It's two days in a row that Pride in the Vines has brought Jo and I to a special winery experience. In this case it wasn't our first visit but things were much different this time. The first time we visited Zephaniah Farm Winery was probably a decade ago and they had no tasting room. We had our tasting in the basement of their home, a very personal approach. Although they now have a beautiful Amish tasting room, we were still greeted by Bonnie at the door and throughout our seated tasting we had the pleasure of being entertained in conversation with Bill who explained both the history of the farm and the metamorphosis of his vineyard. It was every bit as personal as our first visit. The wines are top notch, the 3 whites and the 4 reds we tried were all excellent. Jo, the white wine drinker even enjoyed the Chambourcin. We will be drinking that bottle this evening! Thanks once again to Visit Loudoun and their Pride in the Vines program for reminding us of this gem of a winery. We will be back soon.

Yelp
I adore Zephaniah. There outdoor space is quite welcoming and makes it hard to leave once you have your favorite wine and cheese pairing. Though this winery seems to be lowkey and overly humble, they have exceptional wines. It is a family operated winery which the family members here treat you as if you were royalty--from the moment you enter their establishment they are gems.
google avatar

Sara L.

Yelp
We ended up here when we couldn't even find parking at another nearby winery. Zephaniah was my first choice of where to go today so I was not so secretly pleased that this was where we found ourselves. It's a beautiful, laid back atmosphere with plenty of outdoor seating. The wines were all fantastic. The ones we tried were balanced and full-bodied. We enjoyed their amber wine, which was different. My husband and I left with smiles on our faces and three bottles of wine.

Gary B.

Yelp
It was 21 years ago that my wife and I met Bonnie and Bill. This beautiful place is part of our lives. You have to visit the winery to understand and appreciate the hard work and dedication of the people who make great wine. A walk back in time and history lesson from Bill is always a wonderful experience! Cheers, GrandpaG

Yelp
I haven't been to a winery in years. We just moved to the area and lucky for us we are surrounded by wineries. Today we decided to go to Zephaniah's Farm Vineyard. The grounds are beautiful and very inviting. The staff and the owners are so kind and welcoming. We tried the flight (a selection of 4 different wines to taste). The wine was delicious and the atmosphere was great! Definitely coming back to purchase some wine for an event we are hosting soon.

Kesha T.

Yelp
I thoroughly enjoyed visiting this winery. Such friendly staff. You can tell that the family takes pride in their land and the vineyard is beautiful. The tasting room was spacious enough for our party and other parties to enjoy their tastings. The tasting presentation was nice. It was cool to see that Zephaniah was baby friendly and it was sweet seeing Bonnie interact with the baby. My favorite from my tasting was the 2016 Chambourcin - dark and bold, so good. I would for sure come out to visit again if I'm in the area.

Yelp
Absolute hidden gem. If you're coming from out of town for a NoVA wine tour and are struggling to figure out which winery to visit, this is a must-add to your list. The family who owns Zephaniah Farm Vineyard is incredibly kind, and the grounds are so tranquil and gorgeous -- plus there are fields of cute sheep and cows (the owner brought us down to pet the cows, too). AND you can bring your own food to have a picnic! Best bang for your buck and more.
google avatar

Jennifer T.

Yelp
Absolutely loved this experience! They do a wonderful job of keeping folks distanced and safe and making it fun despite the circumstances. I enjoyed learning about their philosophy to not explain or teach about their wines because it takes away from your personal experience and makes people feel inferior. They also shared about how they have to set controlled fires to keep the grapes from freezing which can destroy their crop for the season. This is a labor of love! Will definitely return soon!
google avatar

Jakki Y.

Yelp
I loved it here! My husband and I did a little afternoon getaway wine tour and this was our first stop. There are fire pits outside to keep you want-make a reservation for them though. We came on a Saturday afternoon and it was a little busy. There is sanitizer available and the wine tastings are given in little cups on a plate-I really enjoyed this!!! We brought some outside food and had a picnic. The owners are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, we spent some time talking and had a great conversation with Bill. Getting here you have to take a little gravel road and you might think you're not in the right place but trust the GPS- you will get there and love it! They are an active dairy farm so you can see cows in the distance too. The location is great so that you can do a few winery stops in one day. I definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a family owned business running well. We will definitely be back when family comes to town! Thanks!

Yelp
Small winery with interesting grapes and blends. We lucked into arriving in a day when they were serving delicious hamburgers from their farm-raised cattle. Delicious, especially accompanied with a glass of red (generous pour!!). Did a tasting after lunch with some nice selections. Not a big place, but nice accommodations and atmosphere. Owner Bill and his wife are charming hosts.

Yelp
I visited Zephaniah Farm Vineyard one Sunday afternoon. I arrived about 15 minutes before the advertised closing time - so I was prepared for them to tell me it was too close to closing time. I was pleasantly surprised - they did not! The tasting room is different than most other Virginia wineries I have visited. It's like sitting at your Grandma's dining room table - instead of a tasting bar. The lady who poured my wines - I believe was one of the owners. As we went through the wines - I asked a number of questions. I enjoyed most of the wines - nice Reds! When we were done and settled up, I asked if she would take a photo with me to commemorate my visit - she declined - with some sort of statement about never being in photos... Oh well. Nice Virginia winery! #ZephaniahFarmVineyard

Yelp
What a hidden gem in Leesburg. For our anniversary we decided to visit different wineries. We are Charlottesville staples but this year we went here. The owners wife spoke with us at length, shared the history of the winery and her husbands family. The itself was amazing and would love to see this wine being sold near us in Virginia Beach. It was a delightful afternoon sitting in the porch watching the hummingbirds.
google avatar

Lauren M.

Yelp
An escape back in time right in Loudon County! My husband and I ventured to Zephaniah over the summer after making a morning phone call to the reservations number. William picked up - one of the owners - and helped us with reservations and recommendations to make our trip we best we could be! When we arrived he was there at check in and gave us a brief tour of the grounds which are so picturesque. This winery is down to earth while feeling other-worldly. We picked up two bottles to take back with us to Arlington and had a bottle of their most recommended white to share on property. There are multiple areas across the property to sit which makes it very possible to be FAR away from others and also to roam to a new area for each glass. We will absolutely be returning!
google avatar

Emily M.

Yelp
My husband and I were in the area and decided to visit based on the good reviews. We were seated inside the house at one of the dining tables for our tasting. The staff were knowledgeable and very friendly, one person that served us lived in the house. We felt very welcome and notice quite a few parties outside enjoying the nice weather. Overall, the property is lovely and I'm giving them 4 stars based on our experience. That being said, the wines were not memorable and didn't stand up to others in the area. I would rate the wines a 3.
google avatar

Chris Melody F.

Yelp
Omg! What a hidden gem in the area. Bonnie & Bill are the absolute sweetest. I was touched by their love. Also Bill loved telling stories about the wine and their family. The wine was good too. Loved it so much and highly recommend folx to stop here.
google avatar

Tynda C.

Yelp
This winery has such a great view and is family owned. Bill was amazing and so knowledgeable about the wines. We were allowed to bring in snacks and the prices of the wines were very reasonable. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Jaimie I.

Yelp
I'm not sure what is better, the wine or the family that makes and run the vineyard. It's very rare to have a tasting or flight where you like every single wine. White to red, all amazing! No bitter after taste, low acidity, no hard alcohol taste. Atmosphere is relaxed and the entire family pours and talks to everyone at each table. Love it! I bought a case on my way out.
google avatar

Kiara S.

Yelp
Zephaniah Farm Vineyard is quite the experience! It's a truly intimate setting to sip local wine and learn the history of their family farm. The service is exceptional and the wine is too. It's unlike any vineyard or wine tasting I've had in the area (read: there are over 280 wineries in Virginia and Zephaniah holds its own). The grounds are quaint. The path from the parking lot is beautifully overgrown making it almost like an adventure to find the tasting room entrance. We were greeted by a charming brick house, which is the former home of the family. Inside the the tasting room, we were given a choice of three rooms to sit and taste wine--we chose the library, a room tucked away in the back of the house. It was elaborately decorated providing lots of visual stimuli and conversation starters. We had a friendly and knowledgeable host pour our wine and talk about the vineyard's history. We were able to peek into the cellar with one of the winemakers and meander around the grounds since it was my parents first wine tasting. The wines are delicious. I'm no sommelier, so I won't spoil the wine with bad descriptors, but, simply put, the whites are refreshing and the reds are flavorful. And, the wine is only sold on the property so that's one more reason to visit. When you leave you feel like family. I will measure all other experiences against my visit to Zephaniah.
google avatar

Sarah B.

Yelp
I loved this place! The owner Bonnie was incredible and interested in the guests telling us fun stories! I appreciated the wine options which were tasty! I will be back.
google avatar

Teresa L.

Yelp
I really want to give Zephaniah 5 stars but every time we come there seems to be discrepancies with their dog policy. I saw on some Yelp reviews that they're dog friendly. The first time I brought my pup they were welcoming but the second time there was some disagreement between the owners/workers of dogs were allowed. Apparently they made an "exception" to allow my pup - there were other dogs on site too. They advised us to pick a table away from other visitors. If you're planning on bringing your pup I would call ahead just to confirm. Other than that this winery is very peaceful and beautiful.
google avatar

Jessica C.

Yelp
Highly recommend this vineyard. Wine is delicious and family is very welcoming. I like the recommendations and description given by the host.
google avatar

Rita P.

Yelp
Great wine! Really, you'll like the wine. The owner told us she doesn't bottle the wine unless she would serve it to friends at her dinner table. The atmosphere is quaint, lovely farm house just outside Leesburg. It was really cold yesterday, so we'll come back in the summer for an updated review.
google avatar

Jaime J.

Yelp
Ok charging my review because I've been a few times now and their wine is really good- Adeline has quickly become one of my favorite VA wines. Great service, beautiful atmosphere.
google avatar

Jill M.

Yelp
Great family owned business. The wine maker made a great fire upon arrival without even asking. Great wine, views and people.
google avatar

Meg V.

Yelp
The other reviews said this vineyard was dog friendly so we brought our pup. Unfortunately, when we got there, they had a sign that said, "This is a working farm, no dogs please." I was fine with it, since there are so many other great vineyards to go to nearby. However, as I'm packing up my dog, an employee came over and said I could have my dog on a leash, but then I pointed out the "no dogs" sign, and that I thought that meant we had to leave, to which he seemed surprised they had a "no dogs" sign. He then said we could leave our dog in the car...which everyone knows is what you should NOT do with your dog. This level of unprofessionalism -- the lack of your employees knowing the rules, and offering poor advice was so frustrating. We left and ended up at a nearby vineyard.
google avatar

Kevin W.

Yelp
Now this is what I call a fine vineyard! Recently I did a search for good wines in the DC area and I was directed to a huge list of small wineries in the Loudoun area in NOVA. After doing some more research, this place turned up. People raved about the intimate setting and high-caliber wine so I made a point of stopping by. It was a wise decision. First off this place feels less like a winery and more like a farm. That's because prior to growing grapes this was once a family dairy farm. The tasting room is actually in a 200+ year old house and it literally feels like you're just having wine in someone's house. That's actually a good thing as the ambiance feels very relaxed and the owners are all extremely friendly. They are definitely passionate about their wine and it shows. I tried several varieties and they were all excellent. I was really pleasantly impressed with their Adeline wine and really recommend it to anyone who's a fan of fruity wine that doesn't feel overwhelming or overly sweet. Generally all of their wines had a light yet refined feel. I walked out with 6 bottles in my trunk, so you can get a sense that I was very happy with the outcome of our brief but memorable wine tasting. There are two places you can do the tastings at. There is the old house and there is an expanded barn that has a wonderfully cozy feel to it as well. Sitting on the rocking chairs and sipping wine at the barn is a generally nice feeling. They also sell candles here that smell wonderful. All in all I can see why a lot of folks raved about this place. Aside from the lovely environment and wonderful proprietors, the wine they sell here is just fantastic. I'm definitely coming back in the future to pick up more bottles!

R D.

Yelp
Very friendly staff. We made a reservation and got a wonderful table overlooking the vineyards. Everything felt very COVID safe. We got a wine flight of 4 wines for $20 and we bought a bottle of rose to enjoy. The wines were good all around and the staff and atmosphere rounded out the excellent experience.

Yelp
Mixed bag of a review..trying to average it out: -The space would be a 5. An absolutely gorgeous home, turned wine tasting experience they are a sit-down tasting venue where you can tour the house, find the spot you want to enjoy, and tell them where you will be-they come to you. We chose the library, because I was geeking out over the Card Catalog complete with Dewy Decimal system cards and wine hidden throughout. The home has the original family photos and other memorabilia throughout, making it just a breathtaking intimate affair -The pourer would be a 1; I understand we arrived at 5, they closed at 5:30, but then tell us you don't want to pour, don't just rush through and try to limit us asking questions, we came to the winery to learn about it and the wine. She answered questions, but I could feel the teeth I pulled -The wines..good but not good enough for the price. Honestly if they were $6-7 bucks cheaper I may have gone home with some, but there was something about the higher price tag and my indecision which left me going home empty handed. The wine was good, but I figured if I'm hesitating, and sampling a wine twice to be sure, then I wasn't sure...maybe if I see them out and about. -The Rose was tart-weird for a Rose-chilled too long -Steamship White was buttery, but so much so that after one glass I probably couldn't handle anymore -Adeline-maybe it's the Viognier that was too tart and came out in the Rose as well -Cab Fran smokey, with overly powerful oak (not a bad thing) -Three Captains- when three compete nobody wins) -Chambourcin wonderfully dark, as stated The bottles are simple, nothing to look at. I'd taste here again to see if it was just the whole being rushed out part that left us meh.

Yelp
We've been waiting for awhile to make it out to Zephaniah. So worth it. We are CA wine people and have learned to love the VA wines, but the Steamship White brought us back to our favorite CA whites. The reds were great as well, but this one white particularly grabbed us. We did the tasting and all the wines were lovely as were the couple running the winery. We always love supporting a winery or brewery when the people are as cool as the product they are selling. They are no kids right now and I don't know off hand if that's a covid thing or an all the time thing. It might limit our ability to return, but can definitely be a bonus for people looking for a chiller atmosphere. I recommend it regardless!

Yelp
What a charming place and what a lovely, informative and exceptional experience. We had a wonderful visit and tasting. I look forward to a follow on visit. The wine was very god and very reasonable. Don't be fooled with Expensive Wine. We came with friends with vastly different tastes but we each found some thing we loved. The setting and having a seated tasting was so much more enjoyable. Thank you. I truly enjoyed myself and hearing the rotors behind your winery name an vintages.

Yelp
What a surprise this place was! A beautiful venue, small and intimate. Great wine and family owned and operated. Worth a stop

Yelp
I made a revisit on a Sunday and was very pleased with several of their newer additions. While last time I rated their wines at 3.5 stars, this time it was easily 4 stars or better. Their outstanding service continued; in fact I don't think I've ever had less than great service. The wine maker/co-owner was in the tasting room and was happy to answer questions. We chatted a lot about the history of the property, and especially his "Three Captains" namesakes. I continue to appreciate how the staff does a seated tasting in the dinning room of their old manor house / tasting building (which is also their home!). This time around, the Chambourcin was jammier than I remember, but not in a bad way. They also let me try their new Cab Sav, which I liked a lot. But the best was the Cab Franc, which I bought. I was really impressed with the Franc; I think it was mid-$20s. I also had a glass of a wonderfully spicy mulled wine. While they have a new tasting room, skip it and hang out in the manor house. The experience is almost as good as the (already excellent) wine.

Yelp
I prefer Pearmund . Everyone who knows Virginia wines knows that Chris Pearmund is responsible for putting Virginia on the map as a tier 1 wine producer.

Yelp
If I could give more stars, I would. They prefer reservations and we texted them morning of hoping to squeeze in. They let us come before opening, which was so appreciated. All of the wine we tried was lovely, and the service couldn't have been better. We spoke with the owner at length, and she could not have been kinder. We are looking forward to visiting as often as possible in the future.

Yelp
We loved this vineyard! Everyone was so friendly. They were very kind from beginning to end. The property is beautiful and so homey. Each wine came with a story of its name and the family history. The wines were very delicious and the pours were a generous amount. We left with three bottles to take home. We loved so many it's hard to pick a favorite: we loved the viognier (off the tasting menu), adeline, chambourcin and the steamship white the most. We can't wait to go back. It was honestly such an amazing experience to come here. The wine, the history, the family and the love is one of a kind. If you haven't gone, you should go! If you've been here, you should go again! We, personally, can't wait to go back and introduce all of our family to this amazing place.

Yelp
This winery definitely is located in off the beaten path. I guess family-owned? I felt like we were hanging out at somebody's backyard. We spent a beautiful Saturday afternoon here despite the cicadas in the air!. If you make a reservation, you will get a table under the tent. Other picnic tables are all spaced out and we played games around our table. I saw some guests getting a tour of the vineyard. Staff is very friendly to make sure we have what we need - very accommodating. We enjoyed their white wine selections. If you want good wine with quiet atmosphere, this winery has it all!

Yelp
Not sure how I'd never heard of this place but glad to finally have. The winery is a 200 year old home on a beautiful, secluded property, occupied by the family of the 2nd owners. Do not come here to get drunk or if you're winery hopping. Do come here if you have a passion for wine, it's complexities and for a memorable tasting. Bonnie, our pourer and co-owner, gave my group a personable, thorough and informative tasting of their delicious wines in a former guest bedroom, her 'favorite room." The prices are fair and the wines are worth every penny. Will definitely be back in the Fall to enjoy a red outdoors..

Yelp
We stopped here on a trip to visit several wineries in the area. The service was excellent and obviously family run. That translates to staff that are often family members and intimately familiar with their wines. They also do seated tastings which is a departure from the norm in the industry. I enjoyed a couple of their whites but not as much the reds. This isn't to say the reds are bad my palette is more for sweeter whites and other members of our group enjoyed the reds quite a bit. With the excellent service and beautiful grounds Zephaniah is well worth a stop.
