Yelp
Mixed bag of a review..trying to average it out:
-The space would be a 5. An absolutely gorgeous home, turned wine tasting experience they are a sit-down tasting venue where you can tour the house, find the spot you want to enjoy, and tell them where you will be-they come to you. We chose the library, because I was geeking out over the Card Catalog complete with Dewy Decimal system cards and wine hidden throughout. The home has the original family photos and other memorabilia throughout, making it just a breathtaking intimate affair
-The pourer would be a 1; I understand we arrived at 5, they closed at 5:30, but then tell us you don't want to pour, don't just rush through and try to limit us asking questions, we came to the winery to learn about it and the wine. She answered questions, but I could feel the teeth I pulled
-The wines..good but not good enough for the price. Honestly if they were $6-7 bucks cheaper I may have gone home with some, but there was something about the higher price tag and my indecision which left me going home empty handed. The wine was good, but I figured if I'm hesitating, and sampling a wine twice to be sure, then I wasn't sure...maybe if I see them out and about.
-The Rose was tart-weird for a Rose-chilled too long
-Steamship White was buttery, but so much so that after one glass I probably couldn't handle anymore
-Adeline-maybe it's the Viognier that was too tart and came out in the Rose as well
-Cab Fran smokey, with overly powerful oak (not a bad thing)
-Three Captains- when three compete nobody wins)
-Chambourcin wonderfully dark, as stated
The bottles are simple, nothing to look at.
I'd taste here again to see if it was just the whole being rushed out part that left us meh.
