I had the pleasure of visiting Zephyr, the new restaurant inside the Hotel Phoenix in Atlanta, during their soft launch on December 1st, and I can already tell this place is going to be a standout once the grand opening hits in January.
I sat at the bar, where Jay was my bartender and let me tell you, he was amazing. Both Jay and Bri took such great care of me the entire evening. The service throughout the restaurant was A++++, from the valet who personally escorted me inside to the host at the stand who greeted me with a smile. The team made the whole experience feel warm, intentional, and elevated.
I started with the crab cake, which was just okay, not bad, but I’m hoping the flavor profile evolves as they refine things before the grand opening. The Cacio e Pepe was also okay. It was creamy and simple.
Now, the star of my night? Jay’s mezcal lemon drop. 🔥 It was phenomenal. Perfectly balanced, smoky yet bright, and hands-down one of the best cocktails I’ve had in a while. The drink menu overall was impressive! It was creative, well thought-out, and full of unique flavor combinations and liquors you don’t typically see on most Atlanta bar menus.
The Hotel Phoenix itself is stunning! It has sleek lines, modern art, and that kind of quiet luxury that feels fresh and new for the city. Once Zephyr hits its stride, it’s going to be a beautiful addition to the Atlanta skyline and dining scene.
I’ll definitely be back once they officially open to try more dishes. The service alone makes it worth a return visit.
