"This popular takeout only operation in the Mendenhall Valley serves an Asian/Pacific Islands menu, including barbecue, pork belly pho, banh mi, noodle bowls, curry bowls and Korean-style wings. The poke is a favorite. Zerelda’s is vegetarian friendly and serves ramen on Thursdays." - Julia O'Malley

Google
This is by far one of the best places in Juneau! We ordered a Yellow Coconut Curry Rice Bowl and the Tropical Street Tacos. Hard to describe the flavor in words, but delicious is an understatement. Not many places get fried tofu right, but Zerelda's nailed it! It was perfectly crispy without being oily, cooking timing and temperature done perfectly! Would give 10 stars if I could. Highly recommended!

Google
Great local eatery. Very flavorful food with good prices. Several options can be vegan. I had the street tofu tacos and it was fantastic. Highly recommend give this place a try.

Monica Stauffer

Google
Cute little place with so many fusion food options as well as amazing dessert selections. Staff were great, all my food tasted amazing! Seating is limited during peak hours. Definitely come hungry as portions were large!

Grabbed a delicious lunch with friends and Zerelda’s Bistro. Everything we order was fresh, flavorful, and filling. The restaurant itself was clean and bright. I would definitely recommend Zerelda’s Bistro and will be returning!

Google
Their quasadilla special was amazing! Very filling and was able to have some for lunch the next day. Both the workers up front were super helpful with helping me decide what drink I wanted. I was hoping to have sweet tea, but they said they didn't but could add mango puree to the tea to make it sweeter. Next time I'm in Juneau, I'll definitely be stopping by.

The girl that served me tonight was very polite! Welcomed me when I came in, brought my takeout order to me, and wished me an amazing night on the way out. Hope she goes far in life :)

Update March 2025. My last few orders have gone better. 2/3 were correct (caught the one missing bacon before I left). Food is great, but check your order before you leave with pickup. July 2024 - I was really enjoying this restaurant, but the last 5x I've eaten there or tried to, there were issues. Several orders were missing item (ex. Bacon on burger). Today, after I added a chilli, they then tell me they don't have any gf buns (another up charge), a burger without abun then doesn't have any sauce on it... The other times, the item I want was on the website to order. They have corrected whenever possible, but if there were more gf choices in Juneau I might just give up.

Everything is so flavorful here! I am so glad I found them. Perfect poke bowl. Crazy delicious muffins and hand pies. Love the passionfruit limeade. This is my favorite spot for meals to-go.

Yelp
Had an amazing lunch at Zelda's Bistro! We tried the soup of the day -- meatball soup -- and the lunch special, pulled pork tacos. Both were absolutely delicious! The service was friendly and attentive, and the cozy atmosphere made the experience even better. Everything we saw coming out of the kitchen looked fantastic, and they have a great selection of pastries, too. Definitely a spot worth checking out!

Yelp
* absolutely shocked and disgusted by the treatment l'd witnessed towards a young woman who'd most likely never been" inside. Looking around * asking questions about the food. To finish this off. The tone of replies to her were attacking and aggressive with the customers face looking flushed & attempting to make an order and go. Voice raised you need to go over there I mind my customers to leaving with tears down and an un deserved tip from her xx Yes it's a very popular and busy place but it's not ever nor should be used as a reason for being cruel. genuinely while in line at others I haven't seen nor heard anything like this. Hopefully this isn't common behavior from the staff towards your paying customers **!

Yelp
Zerelda's was recommended by a born-and-raised local so had to try it! We looked at the menu online the night before and planned out what we'd order for brunch on a Sunday. The menu had been updated overnight by the time we arrived and the salmon cake benedict (what I planned to order) had been removed :( I asked the lovely woman at the register if it was still available and within minutes several staff members (not sure if management, ownership, etc) had greeted me and explained that the menu was just updated and the Benedict was removed because there wasn't a demand. They also offered to modify several dishes and offered suggestions to try to accommodate my diet. It's apparent that these women really care about their business and their customers. We tried the burrito deconstructed into a bowl and it was HUGE and delicious! We also tried the quiche - a bit on the salty side and also very generous portion with a super fresh salad. The chai latte was watered down and the house coffee a bit burnt tasting. We wanted to try so many things from the pastry cabinet but decided to behave they even have a massive GF cookie! Loved the care behind this establishment.

Yelp
I LOVE the food here. I don't live in Juneau but this is one of my "must eat" spots when I go. Locals often recommend it. Every thing is delicious and the desserts /pastries are to notch. The service is great except for one counter employee who always seems unhappy and short on patience but every one else seems genuinely happy to see you. I love this place.

Andrew H.

Yelp
I have to agree with everyone else: this restaurant is extremely unassuming and extremely good. It's located in a strip mall near the airport. If you are a tourist in downtown Juneau...it's so good you should take a special trip up here! It is very hard to describe the genre/style of eatery this is. Best I can do is that it reminds me of some of the more eclectic eateries found in Hawaii. The food is equal parts French bakery (if this place were ONLY a bakery, it would be one of the best places in Juneau), BBQ stand, and Pho slurpery. Sound weird? It does *sound* weird, but it just completely works in person. Everything here is thoughtfully hand made with great attention to detail. Just pick something on the menu you vaguely like and you will be blown away. I got some baked goods for a hike one day, a breakfast burrito another, and some BBQ meat on my third visit. (that's right, I was in Juneau for 4 days and came here 3 times!)

Kevin G.

Yelp
Great food and customer service! Top 3 restaurants in Juneau. The pickles used to be fried.

Sara G.

Yelp
Such a hidden gem! I ordered the happy belly bowl with chicken and it was SO DELICIOUS! All the meals are packaged to go and the portion sizes are large enough to share or have plenty of leftovers. I would absolutely recommend going to this bistro it's the homey food you want with a fast food vibe!

Andy T.

Yelp
Came in for lunch today. The place is a nice cozy little bistro. The place does get busy, there is limited seating inside and out. Staff is very friendly. Had the pulled pork burrito and special sweet potato with ginger bisque. The salsa was very good as well as the burrito As with everything here, it's pricey but it's a good place to come.

Will M.

Yelp
We were in Juneau for two days, and this was both the best meal and the best value we had. It's a bit of a haul from the downtown, but well worth a bus or Uber ride to get away from the cruise ship crowds.

Earl D.

Yelp
Intimate, small, casual cafe with super tasty choices. We picked food to- go for 5 and everyone was very pleased with the quality and flavors. The friendly staff was very helpful and accommodating. Highly recommend this wonderful gem.

Mackenzie B.

Yelp
I've had the ramen and the phó here and both were excellent! Quiet, intimate space with plenty of seating inside and outside. You order your meal at the counter and someone brings it out to you, but you bus your own table, which doesn't bother me. I really like this place!

Scott M.

Yelp
Fantastic food, friendly service, and reasonable prices make Zerelda's a great place to eat! Unique menu items with daily specials make every visit a delight.

Michele M.

Yelp
Had the Chicken Parm over spaghetti for dinner tonight. If Abby makes this again, go get yourself some. So delicious and I have enough left over for lunch tomorrow. The chicken and the spaghetti were both cooked perfectly and the sauce was so flavorful. It came with a green salad and garlic bread. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Abby puts love in her food. She takes great care with everything that comes out of her kitchen.

Yelp
What a great little find in Juneau! This was my first time getting to explore the town, and I'm happy that my indecisive mind was finally able to settle on Zerelda's. I called my order in and the employee was funny, a little quirky and had a cool energy about her. I was quoted about 10 minutes for my Pork Katsu Sandwich and Garlic Fries, and was on my way to the location. When I arrived, the atmosphere was very relaxed and the restaurant was quite clean. They offered a nice seating area, and if I weren't wanting to just head back and relax in my hotel room, I would've been happy to eat there. The glass case of extra meals and desserts were so well presented and made me want to order everything!! I decided to add a side of the Kimbap Rolls to my order, and headed back to my hotel with both items. The meal smelled amazing and I could wait to dig in! The fried were cooked great, and the garlic parmesan topping was delicious. The Pork Katsu marinade had a great tangy taste (which actually doubled well as a little dipping sauce for the fries!), and the patty was hearty and flavorful. I loved the addition of pickled onions, fresh cucumbers, and the aioli they added was the icing on an already great sandwich. The Kimbap Rolls did not disappoint! Loved the taste of the seaweed and carrots inside, and the bite of the dipping sauce that came along with them. As someone that lives in the lower 48, the pricing of the food was a little higher than I'd prefer, but understandable considering the costs involved with getting quality products to the area. Overall, highly recommend this spot!!!

Yelp
Um yes I'm reviewing Zereldas for the 20th time. My fellow Yelpers, you have found the golden goose of Yelp. This IS the spot. The mecca of flavor and ridiculously good food. EVERY single damn thing that comes out of their kitchen is the single most delicious thing I've ever ate. I know freaking dramatic and I could be bias. But I'm not bias. Why? Because its the honest to God undisputable truth. Now the key to Zereldas is their daily specials. Order the special. Whatever it is, it will blow your mind and brake tha mouth. These guys are the Picassos of food. The chefs of GODS.. Not only that but the dessert case has absolutely ridiculous homeade sweet goodies for upsurdley low prices. I got like the most gourmet, top shelf pineapple upside down mini cake. This thing is probably WAY better than what the rich people get their private chefs to make. And I only paid freaking $8.50 for it. Maybe $8.50 sounds crazy for a mini cake but I can assure you it is in fact way too low of a price for the sheer epicness going on here. I really do think she should atleast charge $15. I mean, even that's too low. Anyway now I'm ranting. Go here, order the special, pick some gourmet next level bake goodfrom the case, then eat it all. Who cares if you get fat. It doesn't matter. We all get a 1 way ticket in this life. So better enjoy it by shoving the best damn food in Alaska down the hatch. Plus your in Juneau, it's beautiful here. Your surrounded by the fairy forrest. After you shove your face, go for a hike. Make sure to carry bear spray and one of those blow horns. Bears like people who smell amazing.... Just saying. Also, make sure to tip atleast 20% even on your takeout order. These guys work hard, kick ass and make GOD FOOD. The least you could do is give a nice tip.

Natalie V.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! Everything was freshly made. Huge portions. We tried the rockfish sandwich, tropical rockfish tacos, hamburger, s'mores cupcake, and blackberry cream pie - the pie crust was hand made and tasted wonderful. The atmosphere is fun, relaxing, and clean. And the customer service is amazing - it's rare to find this level of service anywhere in the world these days.

Brenda W.

Yelp
Everything we ordered was so delicious and the staff is so friendly. The baked goods are wonderful!!

Melissa M.

Yelp
Great food! We ordered take out to eat out on the beach. Easy online ordering. Fast service!

Chloe T.

Yelp
Good food good service. The ambiance was very soothing and a good inviorment to enjoy there pastries in.

Alby S.

Yelp
Food is absolutely delicious!! The truffle fries are my favorite! Dessert are always on point.

Lane J.

Yelp
Best food in the Valley hands down. The workers are super friendly and even remember my order every week. Desert is always amazing. It is a little pricey, but worth it here.

Chris C.

Yelp
I'm beginning to believe this is the best place to eat in all of Juneau. The food is made fresh and they have a knack for nailing the flavors. Nothing comes out looking or tasting premade. The ever-changing desserts and specials never disappoint. There's more expensive places to eat that offer a more intimate atmosphere but if you are looking for flavor then this is the spot to go. Food is always served quickly and with a pleasant attitude.

George L.

Yelp
I still think this is one of the best places in town for a real meal not from Costco. The creativity is great and the staff friendly. I do think the two different lines to check out is confusing because you can only order certain foods from one counter then you have to go to the other line to order something different. I had the wings and the dish was great but I believe a dish put together so well to be eaten with a fork should be made with boneless chicken thighs because they retain the moisture but keeps things clean. Wings are a finger food so why eat half your dish with a fork and then the wings by hand. Otherwise perfect.

Susan L.

Yelp
Clean healthy food. Quick service. Hours a little wonky. Small indoor eating space. Great for take out

Jeff G.

Yelp
Ingredients were fresh and flavorful. Service is good. We were there when they were slammed with lunch rush. Tropical street tacos with rockfish and the happy belly bowl with tofu were good.

Darrell H.

Yelp
Zereldas Bistro is 4 stars because it's good quality food. Keep in mind I've been there only a handful of times. It would be 5 of 5 if that one time I asked for the ramen and was told it was out. It's only available on a limited basis as is, and no alternative was given or no explanation. Will it ever be available? Is it discontinued? What's my best chance to have this dish next time it's available?‍

Dennis S.

Yelp
Great food Service was extremely good Lots of great tasting food. So many choice will goto again

Sara F.

Yelp
Zereldas GF menu is amazing ! The food is always delicious and the service is really quick.

JC K.

Yelp
Always great food. I miss the southwest brisket bowl and hope they bring it back. They never cease to impress with their deserts and pastries. Wish I could afford to stop in daily.

Richard U.

Yelp
This is my new favorite place since the old Paradise Café closed down! It is uncanny that Zerelda's Bistro moved into the same space as the excellent Paradise Café and that it too is an amazing place for eats! everything here is amazing and you really can't go wrong! stuff tried: Diver sea scallops with caviar: yes, this tastes as good as it sounds. Black Cod with green beans and coconut mild sauce: luxurious and tasty Thai influenced dish! amazing! I have yet to encounter anyone who has eaten here who as not had an amazing meal. The space is very cute and welcoming and the food is obviously made with much care! If you are in Juneau this is the one place you must try!

C B.

Yelp
Good, unique food made from scratch. The Asian style brisket bowl was delicious, and so was the burger. It would be nice if they did a lettuce wrap version since they have iceberg on the menu. The ambiance is friendly and warm (though it was cold inside on a very stormy eve.) It seemed a bit steep for what we got--a couple up-charges maybe? Most of the staff was friendly and had a happy vibe, except for one counter/cleaning person who was totally snotty. No need for withering answers if someone doesn't know where you keep your ketchup. If you want new folks to return, try being...polite?

Will V.

Yelp
Healthy, friendly, bright, and homey, Zeralda's is a great spot for lunch or a bite before a hike. We had the coconut curry bowl and the poke bowl and both were excellent. Coffee drinks were also prepared with a (masked) smile and good attention to detail with the orders. Definitely a spot to return to on a future visit.

Teagyn V.

Yelp
Omg the food here... to die for!!! We had the pho to share, a pastry, London fog and hot chocolate for drinks. The London fog was okay, the hot chocolate and pastry were delicious. The highlight for sure was the pho... amazing. Healthy, filling, soooo good. Can't wait to go back and try more things from the menu. The only downside I feel is that their hours are kinda weird so gotta time it just right. My boyfriend and I completely love this place lol

Alex C.

Yelp
Hands down my favorite restaurant in town! My boyfriend and I would always come here every week or two (usually for dinners, but we've gone for brunch as well). I love the fact that they change up some of the items on their menu pretty often so there's always something new to try. That's why we keep coming! If you're a ramen fan like me, I highly recommend that you try and stop by on a Thursday. It's the only day they have it available and it is divine! And if you're not, no need to worry--I've essentially tried almost everything on their menu and you absolutely cannot go wrong with anything you choose. My favorites are: bao buns and shareable grilled cheese for appetizers, their pho, ramen, and whatever their variation of a "meat dish" is for the entrée, and pretty much any of their cakes for dessert. I also recommend coming as early (for dinner) as you can if you don't have any reservations since they're almost always busy and the space isn't that big (which, in my opinion, is the appeal of the place). Lastly, just like their food, their staff is THE BEST in town. Zerelda's is probably the only place in town where I truly enjoy eating in *because* of how nice and friendly their staff are. Seriously. I've never had a terrible (or even a semi-bad) experience here. Abby, please never stop with the varying menu and never let your staff go!

Johnny Z.

Yelp
My wife loves the chicken coconut curry and I usually get the hillbilly burger. A solid choice that i will say is really good. Unfortunately I tried to branch out and try the fried chicken sandwich special. I have to be honest, I don't know what they were trying to do flavor wise but it missed the mark. I would have been happier with McDonald's. Did not answer the phone and I have also had issues with customer service on previous visits.

Xinle Y.

Yelp
This place is a fast food place. Mostly serving takeouts. We came on Thursday, Ramen day. Our family ordered four ramens. The ramen and ramen soup were served in plastic bowls. Could be Covid-19 reason for this, but definitely not environmentally friendly. Food is great. Cocktails are good. Not a great dinner place for relaxing and high level of service.

Nanc M.

Yelp
I guess you can call me a foodie snob, especially since I have lived and traveled around the world. I have eaten incredible foods from all over including eating at many Michelin-star restaurants. Every time I stop by Zeralda's Bistro and try one of their incredible desserts, I can't believe I'm eating it in Juneau, Alaska (no offense) Along with delicious desserts their food selection never disappoints either. My favorite is the once in a while special of smoked pork over mac n cheese. Yummy!!!! I know your location is verily new, but you definitely could use a larger restaurant space and larger parking area. However, that won't stop any of your customers from stopping by. See you soon....

Cyndi J.

Yelp
I was overwhelmed with this restaurant gem. It's tucked into an unlikely spot in Juneau. The exterior is quaint and homey, very invited. The atmosphere inside is equally comfortable, like dining in a treasured friend's home. Tip: Make a reservation. We did not, but they were very gracious to us. Thankfully someone had no-showed, so we were seated quickly. The menu is succinct, with daily specials. I appreciate when restaurants make a few things and make them well. We started with the scallops for an appetizer. They were presented beautifully - four succulent, perfectly seared, fresh scallops topped with roe, nestled between fresh orange slices, mixed greens, and a delightful sauce. I had the veggie salad and added today's fish - blackened halibut. The halibut was cooked exactly right. The greens were fresh, and well dressed with an amazing champagne mustard vinaigrette (I think that's what it was). My husband had the curry bowl o' the day with chicken. I sampled it, and found it to be sublime. We were too satiated for dessert, but next time I want to try to almond cake with rhubarb sauce.

Katherine S.

Yelp
We loved this place so much we came back multiple times for takeout while we were visiting Juneau. They have daily specials, and the food could not be more fresh and satisfying. Huge portions and fast and friendly service. If I had to comment on a suggestion, it would just be to ask for the dressings for the bowls/salads on the side. I felt like my Hawaiin bowl had a little too much sauce/dressing on it. There was a decent amount of pork in the bowl (some of it was too fatty) but overall it was very tasty.

Phil G.

Yelp
Very disappointed on there poke bowl. Tuna doesn't taste good, so many things in the poke bowl make it unenjoyable. If you want a poke bowl....don't come here. I'm sure they have other good foods here however the poke bowl is definitely not one of them.

Teresa B.

Yelp
I cannot even begin to say how amazing this place is and I look forward to the Ramen I would say every week but they are now open 5 days a week I've been to a lot of places for Ramen and Pho and I have to say this place is the top 3 I have ever been to. So worth it

Tatum G.

Yelp
Super good food and pretty nice staff. I had an extremely hard time getting a refund however when they messed up my order. At first the lady told me that they couldn't find my order and it must have been a long time ago when in fact I called an hour after I got my food (was on my way home from work) I then basically had to argue with her in order to get my refund. When my friend went to go pick it up for me they were kinda rude to her and basically said they didn't know what she was talking about so I called in again and told them I was owed a gift card/certificate and after that they quickly wrote one up. Other then that time they've been great

Maria H.

Yelp
I only got desserts there once so far but the cookie was really good and I didn't have a long wait.

Richard C.

Yelp
Love the food, my favorite place in Juneau. It was always hard to get a table for dinner, so reservations are recommended. Not sure how it works with the pandemic, but I hope they find a way to make it through.

Robert M.

Yelp
Great food - lots of variety. We walked to Zerelda's from one of the airport hotels. Best meal in Alaska.

Sarah S.

Yelp
Discovered this gem on our last day in Juneau. If we had found Zerelda's earlier, it would have been our daily brunch spot.

Cherise C.

Yelp
Cool spot, decent food, the BEST dirty chai latte. We stopped in for brunch (or "Brunchy Lunchy" as Zerelda's would call it) to find a charming space bustling with people. It had a quaint cottage look, but it felt cramped and crowded. They handle orders at the counter and they give you a number for your table. While you are up there, I recommend checking out their freshly baked pastries and pairing it with a hot beverage to boost your mid-day energy. They had a pretty diverse menu that highlights everything from sandwiches to rice bowls to other Asian/Hispanic dishes. Portions were pretty hefty, in that my husband and I split a burrito and we could barely finish. Although the burrito was delicious and filling, I felt like it needed more oomph, which, I guess, could be provided by their small selection of hot sauces. HOWEVER, the biggest plus for me was their dirty chai latte. I don't know what kind of magic the baristas put in it, but it had the perfect amount of spice and sweetness to warm my soul and get me through the day. I would give this place another chance and try their other dishes.

Monica W.

Yelp
Zerelda's has become our favorite night in. The food is the best in Juneau. Whether you get ribs, something Asian inspired, or just something different, you will not be disappointed! Also do NOT forget to get dessert! Sometimes I cave and get a second one for later.

Heather H.

Yelp
Great food! Bakery section is amazing and love their Italian sodas. Always ask about the special of the day
