I'm always iffy about boba shops that offer too much because that means they don't really specialize in anything... They offer coffee, tea, milk tea, small snacks such as chicken tenders, fries and popcorn chicken (which is normal), but also shrimp and elotes. Despite my initial thought, I gave Zero Degrees a try and oh boy, I do regret it....
It's located in a average sized, primarily Asian plaza with some parking. The store is located in the corner, which made it easy to find. On a Sunday afternoon, it was decently packed with a line, but it wasn't too bad. It was my first time here, and it was quite memorable in all the wrong ways... I saw the Tiger Sugar Milk drink, and it caught my eye. It was the most expensive boba drink on the menu for $5.25; but I still wanted to try it, despite the absurd price. Now, that got me thinking, if their Tiger Sugar Milk is their version/label of a Tiger Milk Tea (which I believe is Thai tea + Black milk tea). So wanting clarification, I asked the nice, kind cashier in hopes I'd find my answer.
I directly asked if a Tiger milk tea is the same as their Tiger Sugar Milk. She simply mumbled, so I asked again. Then she mumbled a little louder, so I can barely hear her say I don't know. I followed asking if she knew what a Tiger milk tea was, and she said no, which was understandable because it's not on their menu. Still being optimistic despite her mumbling, I just asked what's in a Tiger Sugar Milk (the drink on their menu), and she still said I don't know. I asked if she can at least describe it. I gave her the benefit of the doubt because maybe if she's just a cashier, she doesn't rotate positions and make the actual drinks... Now, here comes the tipping point. After asking her to describe the Tiger Sugar Milk drink to me, she exclaimed "You know, I don't have time for this." She rolled her eyes and looked the other way and I replied, really??? My cousins I was with had to take over for that moment. Any ways, I just decided to order an Oolong milk tea after all that. My two drinks (my drink + cousin's) took a while to come out. I drank my Oolong and thought it was really caffeinated, but I din't think much about it. I thought I was overthinking things esp after that ordering experience. But with every sip, my mouth was really sticky... I needed water every time to wash the cream down... Also, my cousins tasted my drink and said it was coffee (that the cashier probably spat in haha). And coincidentally, as I was having verbal doubts about my drink, they turned up the music to the point that it was difficult hearing others.
I honestly really don't like this place and the young, light skinned, tall, long brown hair cashier. Worst drink/experience. I'm normally positive with reviews, but wow. This place is a hard no.
