Yelp
We came here 9 weeks ago on a Wednesday evening, after leaving a Braves home game. We were hungry, and saw Zeus Greek Street Food soon after leaving the stadium. Zeus Greet Street Food is on Powers Ferry at The Shoppes of Powers Ferry. We got there at about 8:35 pm.
Parking was easy to find, since there are many parking spaces in the free parking lot between Powers Ferry and the shopping center. The restaurant itself is clean and charming, and was nicely decorated, but also had some clutter of products sitting around in the dining area and the queue area near the kitchen and order counter. This restaurant has lots of seating in the dining areas. Customers have to walk through both of the dining areas to get to the order counter, and there isn't an employee at the entrance to guide you where to go. At this restaurant, customers get into a line that allows them to walk past some of the visible food, like the meats (pork, beef and lamb, and chicken, rotating on the spits, dips/sauces, salads, and other hot foods, then order at the counter. Afterward, customers can either wait nearby if they ordered take out, or can sit at a table of their choosing. The employee at the counter will call your number when your food is ready to be picked up.
We waited in line for 15 minutes before we got to the employee who was manning the order counter. This employee had one of the worst "I-don't-give-a-shit" attitude I've ever encountered, because he, frankly, didn't really care about being there. He let everyone know that he normally doesn't work at Zeus, but, instead, works at Mambo Italian Street Food nearby, and was told to help out at Zeus because they were short staffed. Wow, talk about scraping the bottom of the barrel for help! His demeanor was, at times, confrontational, not only with us, but with other customers. He was the last person I would even think of putting in a customer facing role. Not only that, he kept complaining to customers that his back hurt and he was tired of walking. And, get this ... this awful employee, who wore a Mambo Italian Street Food t-shirt while doling out horrible service, took an empty cup, poured some beer out of the tap, turned around, and chugged the beer down between customers. I ordered a beef kebab souvlaki, which came with two skewered kebabs, small salad, warm grilled pita, rice, and roasted onions and tomatoes. R ordered the Legendary Zeus Kebab Plate - three beef kebabs, roasted tomato, onion, parsley and grilled pita. I had to repeat my order to the employee twice because he couldn't concentrate on what I was saying.
We waited about 30 minutes for our number to be called. Service was soooooo slow! All of the food was delicious! The kebabs were flavorful and the seasoning was so on point. The veggies were fresh and the roasted veggies were done well.
R wanted a dessert, so he decided to get baklava, which was on a buy one, get one free special. He went up to the inattentive employee to cash in on the special, but the employee argued with R, saying, "Well, I can't give them out for free!" R told him, it's on special, according to your signage. The employee said,"The size of the baklava you want is not part of the special." R asked him to show him which baklava was on special, but the employee didn't know. After quibbling for a few minutes, the employee finally said, "Here, I just want to make the customers happy." Although the employee sounded sincere, I honestly think it was the beer talking. The baklava was good.
We don't plan on coming here again. That whiney employee ruined our experience.
