Zhangliang Malatang Spicy Hotpot (National City)

I had an amazing experience at this restaurant today. Such a unique journey where you pick your own ingredients and they cook it for you. I always enjoy eating hotpot, but usually you have to cook everything yourself, and sometimes you might end up with undercooked food. But this place is different. You choose the raw food and they cook it for you based on the flavor you want, either soup style or stir-fry. You can also pick the level of spiciness you like. Definitely recommend them if you’re craving some authentic Chinese food!

food tasted so delicious! you pick your own bowl and pay by the pound. you also get to make your own dipping sauce. the presentation was great when it was done cooking ! i highly recommend :)

Amy was very nice to me and she was very helpful with suggesting what to order and get. It was pretty straight forward to grab the bowl and pick the ingredients you like, they just opened so it’s really clean and new. I would definitely come back!

I've been waiting for this place to open so long! And dang, it was worth the wait! Compared to the malatang places in Convoy, I noticed this place has more fresh produce. The restaurant is also clean. My husband and I got stir fry options and they were amazing. The staffs were very nice as well 👌 I'd definitely come back and recommend this place to everyone 😃☺️

It’s very refreshing to have a hot pot place in the South Bay finally. This place is awesome. Very authentic and absolutely flavorful. I will definitely visit again.

ZhangLiang Spicy HotPot is Epic. It offers a cheerful, joyful, and welcoming atmosphere. Great music mixture with an upbeat tone. The owners and staff greet you and they are very friendly. The staff help you through the entire process and continue to check on you for assistance. My waitress was Emily and she was awesome. I selected the Stir Fry option which is listed as Spicy Intense Pot and it was delicious. Everything about the spices were yummy. I will be adding this place to my yummy list for future returns. 🌶️🌶️🌶️

Definitely recommend. Came here on the second day after they open. Store is clean and well lit. Staffs are friendly and welcoming. They have a great variety of ingredients that are all fresh. Food came out quickly. They spicy incense pot is delicious. As someone who has Chinese hotpot often, i think this is a great option since i have small appetite, so i can just pick and choose the amount of each type of food i want for the meal. We also got the classic soup which also tasted really good. Definitely will be coming here often with family and friends.

So glad they opened closer to home so I don't have to drive to Clairemont Mesa anymore! Went here with a friend after work and it definitely satisfied our soup craving, we'll be coming back! Great service and food!
