"Chef Eduardo Palazuelos’s Mexican Thai cooking is on display at Zibu, located inside the Live Aqua San Miguel hotel. Palazuelos became well known in his hometown of Acapulco for his ability to effortlessly combine the flavors of two seemingly disparate culinary traditions. House specialties include golden noodle shrimp served with a creamy turmeric sauce and beef marrow tacos with ajillo-marinated octopus. The cocktail menu is considered the most memorable in the city." - Natalia de la Rosa

While the restaurant is gorgeous, it seems they have put all their effort into the atmosphere rather than the food. I really wanted to love this place, but felt it fell short of its promise. We were intrigued by their claim to be a Thai-Mexican inspired menu, however when we asked our waiter to recommend such dishes, he easily pointed out the Pad Thai, but other than the fact that the tuna avocado roll with watermelon visually had the look of a sushi roll (which would be Japanese) he didn’t appear to be very well informed about the menu. (The roll, by the way, was very nicely prepared and refreshingly delicious.) There were a smattering of other dishes with “Asian” ingredients in the description, but overall, the menu didn’t have much evidence of a Thai influence. The soft shell crab tacos were nicely executed, and the red snapper with risotto was delicious. We ordered the second fish dish, which had a beautiful presentation of vegetables, but was unfortunately ruined with dry, overcooked fish and lackluster sauce. The manager kindly apologized for the error and took care of it in the end. We finished the meal with the Pavlova and berries - crunchy, creamy and lovely.

We made a reservation for lunch and were able to stop by after walking back from the botanical garden and it was a great choice location wise as it was on our way back into town. The restaurant is part of a very chic gorgeous hotel, we were able to sit outside since the temperature was just perfect. The staff was very kind and attentive. The food was delicious!! I’m not usually a salad person, but the octopus salad really turned it out for me! So Good!! The menu if a Mexican Thai fusion for which they really did find the right balance for. It’s a tiny bit expensive in comparison to other stops, but you’re paying for the atmosphere and overall experience.

We had a lovely meal at Zibu of tacos (2 different kinds) and dessert. The margarita was outstanding! The service was exceptional and attentive. The night we went was slow so the atmosphere had little to desire but we also went in the middle of the week which probably contributed to the lack of "vibe". The location is in an upscale hotel and a nice 15 minute walk to the city center. We would go again.

Stopped in during a rain storm to have a cocktail. The bartender was awesome. He made me a drink and he did not feel it was up to standard and he made a different one definitely would recommend.
