Ziggy's & Sons Donuts

Visited on 12/30/25 during a trip up to Salem, MA from Florida. Abby was such a delight and made us feel so welcome the entire time, gave a truly homey feel to the shop. We visited on a day when the Real feel temp was 0°F, the coffee was great and hot, the donuts and pastries were to die for! Its really hard to find somewhere that makes actually good old fashioned donuts and this place does not disappoint! The goal on our trip was to shop and dine with small businesses and this one took the cake as my favorite. 10/10 recommend and would go back just to grab a few baked goods from Ziggy's! 😍

Visited from North Carolina in September and was completely blown away by how delicious the doughnuts here are. Best small business-made doughnuts I’ve ever had in my life, no exaggeration. Great cozy atmosphere and friendly conversation, too.

I stayed in Salem for a few months earlier this year and was lucky enough to have Ziggy's down the street. This was one of my favorite places in Salem! The flavored coffee, the donuts and pastries, the shop itself. It's local, been around for a long time, super fairly priced when it seems like everything else is getting more expensive, and has the most welcoming feel to it. A highlight of my time here was walking to Ziggy's in the morning. They're so incredibly friendly inside. Months later as I'm writing this review, I miss it and wish I could have a Ziggy's donut and a chat right now. If you're ever in Salem, you should definitely stop by, I know I will whenever I'm back.

I happened upon this place when I was driving around the area looking for a cup.of coffee. Place is a real neighborhood mom and pop shop. Nothing fancy but donuts were delicious and the talk was great. I can see coming here for a morning coffee and a donut as a regular. I had the plain donut. Very crispy and not too sweet. I came back the next day before I drove home to New Jersey and cleaned them out of their last four plain donuts...a little gem in Salem!

My wife and I happened across this shop on Vacation. We loved the experience so much that we returned the very next morning! Patricia was so nice to talk to and the Doughnuts and coffee were out of this world. We can’t wait to return next year for the Boston Cream and to catch up with Patricia.

This humble little shop currently holds the title of best donuts in my book. Let me make this clear —any donut shop without Boston creme is just not worth it to me, and Ziggy's absolutely nails this flavor. Their raspberry filled is also incredible, which is my other favorite. The jelly is perfect, from texture to taste. The filling for all of their filled donuts generously fills the entirety of the donut. The dough is just the right amount of supple without being too cakey or mushy. The baker's mastery of their craft is evident. FYI donuts are only made Tues-Fri, and on the other days they're open, they sell other well honed pastries. My personal favorite from these is the Boston creme cake. It's an extremely moist cake version of their Boston creme donut. The chocolate frosting on them is heavenly. The lady at the counter is also very kind and helpful. Donut lovers —GO!

These donuts were some of the best I've ever had. Soft, fresh with sliggtly crunchy edges. The jelly filled and chocolate covered yeast were amazing.
