"Jazz and Drinks in Centro Histórico Mexico City's Centro Histórico has some fine bars, clubs, restaurants, and hotels where you can enjoy a copa or a cocktail, but if you're looking for a side of good jazz to go along with your drink, then, the place is Zinco. Housed inside the vault of a former bank, Zinco feels old-school atmospheric and its small size keeps things intimate. Shows feature both Mexican (yes, there's a thriving jazz scene in Mexico ) and international artists. Arrive early to ensure you snag one of the few tables and a waiter who will dedicate himself to refreshing your cocktails throughout the night."

"All the major jazz acts that come through the city book at least one night here, which is why more often than not, the Zinco makes for a solid evening's entertainment. Aside from the good music, this spot oozes retro charm. Hidden away in the Centro, on the bottom floor of a restored Art Deco bank building, the small space feels like an authentic old New York jazz bar with crimson velvet curtains, a few intimate club tables, and a long bar serving up old school cocktails."

I heard the best jazz of my life at Zinco! There was a MX$300 cover that was worth every penny. The band and sound were fantastic. Definitely don’t miss this.

Whether you’re in Mexico City for a few days or a long-time local, you’ve got to find an evening to come to a show here. The entry and layout of the space sets the perfect atmosphere, the drink menu is simple yet excellent, the sound balance is just right, and the crowd is a fun one to be a part of. One of my favorite jazz clubs I’ve been to around the world.

Intimate without feeling cramped. Fun night, great music and service. Recommend.

A pity there is no option to rate with zero stars. A total rip off. My wife booked a show in the K4rto, supposed to start at 8 pm. She went on time, ordered a small overpriced burger and a watered down drink and waited. And waited. ALONE. At 9:20 pm, fed up, she walked out. No explanation, no excuses, no refund. A place like this shouldn't have the reputation it has.

We went during a night when they had a burlesque show, amazing service, amazing performance, but some of the food and drinks were a bit iffy, Pina Colada and Hamburger were fantastic, the fries, mojito were kinda strange, otherwise awesome place!

Google
We read that you needed reservations and the wait could be prohibitive without. We filled out the form on the website for the next day and it said we would hear back. No texts, no emails, no calls. Nada. Never had a jazz club in the world (and we go to a dozen a year) just ignore a request entirely. There are many software packages including open source ones that can handle this if their employees cannot be bothered to respond.

Google
Such a great concert and overall ambiance, but the space is very limited.

Excellent place to visit while in CDMX. You must have a reservation to get in, or wait until 10 pm to see if there's enough room. Tons of seating, the menu is excellent. We had the grilled chicken sandwich and a glass of wine and it was reasonably priced. You can pay goods and drinks with a card but your ticket at the door is only with cash.

Yelp
The owners of this place are fantastic, and the vibe is perfect. Recommended for a chill hang out.

Yelp
First off, you're coming here for the live music venue aspect, not just for the food and drink. Secondly, especially if you are a tourist and have even a passing interest in jazz and live music, you absolutely should work in a night here. This is an absolute delight of a jazz club, located in a cozy basement with an out of the way entrance. Doors open at 9 but unless you make a reservation via WhatsApp message, you'll have to wait until 10 to see if there's availability for walk in. Their website has details on the theme/vibe of the night as well as the cover charge. Actual music didn't start until about 10:30 in my case but I don't regret coming in early in order to nab central, forward facing seating. Music was a delight and the audience were also all super into it as well. Unlike most other jazz clubs, there isn't really a strict dress code or anything like that which I think does a great job of making this type of activity feel so much more accessible. Drinks aren't super unique but mostly well executed classics. One thing I keep forgetting to mention is that most bars in Mexico use standard machine ice which is fine from a practicality standpoint but a nice cube or ball would make the presentation of a mezcal Negroni that much better. Food is also available, I only had a small snack of their Serrano ham and marinated tomatoes atop slices of baguettes which was a tasty blend of salty and fresh. Service did an excellent job of being available for everyone while staying out of the way of the performance. Overall amazing vibes, especially for a date, and a must go in the city. Even if you've never been to a live jazz performance before, this is probably the most accessible one out there.

Yelp
Epic, legendary, welcoming and real musical talent! It's underground which transports you into a different area. The space is small but the way your seated only makes it that much more intimate. The gentleman at the door who came out to help us translate was originally from Downtown LA. So that was pretty cool being that I too am from LA. The theme of the night as far as music was all soul and the singer did a killer James Brown impersonation. I feel like we found a hidden gem in the centro of Mexico City! Please make it part of your visit. You will be far from disappointed, promise!

Yelp
I'm visiting Mexico City and my friend and I were in the mood for live music. Yanco who is manager/part owner graciously helped us during our visit, as he is bilingual, and my Spanish could use some improvement. Zinco did not disappoint, we had the honor of being serenaded by a live quartet of soulful jazz musicians in a proper jazz setting. The drinks were amazing!! We had the pleasure of trying their special mezcal. I ordered and additional cocktail which was a riff off of a margarita--with Mezcal and tamarind. Yanco walked us through the proper way to taste mezcal. The food was good, solid portions and flavorful. We even got two shots on the house. I would highly recommended venturing here one night.

Yelp
Zinco Jazz Club really quenched my thirst for live music. With the pandemic going on it has been difficult for me to see LIVE music. The band they had, the night I went, was amazing. Keyboard player, Drummer, Bass Guitar, Lead String Player , Violin player in the back. Food and drinks were great as well. The two things I didn't like were the sangria cocktail and the vodka pasta. Cocktail just seemed like sangria with orange and vodka pasta actually tasted like vodka, which I even applaud the risk of putting that on their menu. My gf ordered both of those so I tried them haha. Everyone else in our party was highly satisfied with our drinks and meals. The ambience was great as well. All and all Zinco Jazz Club served me delicious food and drink with great times and great music! Highly recommend! Shout out to Yanko for the hospitality! - Russ G.

Yelp
Had a great time at Zinco Jazz Club last night. Located only about 5 min walk from the Zocolo and 7 min from our hotel, Gran Hotel. Wonderful jazz trio performed. Female vocalist was wonderful and performed both American and Latin jazz songs. Make sure you talk with Yanko, the General Manager. Born & raised In L. A. he has come back to his family roots. Tell him hi for me. Steve

Yelp
This is a secret gem in the Zocalo neighborhood of Mexico City. It's jazz music in an intimate setting. The food is great. The band on the night we were there was fantastic. Whole place probably seats 50. Get a reservation through the website (WhatsApp or phone). Cover charge of 200mex ($10usd). Doors open at 8. NO signage until the doors open. It's in the bank vault of a basement of an old bank building. So cool. Note: band didn't start playing until 10. Not sure if this is typical. No need to show right at 8. We had tacos, tostadas, and 3 drinks for about 400mex.

Yelp
The location is perfect, the club is very cozy and nice, the service was excellent. The cover was $700 pesos for 2 last night, Saturday. Cash only! It was a surprise because they didn't mention it when we made reservations. The food and drinks were good! It was a jazz funk night and the band was really excellent! The vocalists were horrible! The butchered James Brown, The BeeGees, Bill Witherspoon, Al Green and more! We left before he ruined Marvin Gaye! I'm not sure what type of music he and she would excel at but it is most DEFINITELY NOT strong male soul funk singers. I can't recall the name of the band or vocalists but we were there August 13th. I have heard many amazing singers in Mexico City so this experience was very confusing. Maybe the vocalists own the club?

Yelp
Expensive to get it and a decent wait in line. Definitely get a reservation and it is for a special occasion. The crowds was very happy and the band was great. Jazz is definitely not my cup of tea but I did enjoy myself. Drinks were regular prices.

Yelp
Really nice jazz venue. I caught it on the wrong night -- the music was so-so. But on the right night this place could be a 5.

Yelp
Go to the website, find a band with music that you like, make a reservation and go! We enjoyed Pablo Prieto and his friends that performed a tribute to Dave Brubeck with a fantastic piantist on a Steinway. If you are two people, the seats are stools and NOT comfortable. Best to go with four and ask for a table close to the stage when you reserve. The place is small and cozy with good acoustics. Reserve early at 5512.3369 and get there before 10pm on a Saturday night or you may lose your spot! Cover charges vary according to the night/band. Wine selection ok (tried ZOE from Spain-very light), food ok (we ordered the tapas plate with bread, meats and cheese) and made plans to go for a meal elsewhere and churros at El Moro after the show. If you drive, there are several 24 hour parking lots around (on the side street or in front of Bellas Artes and walk in) and the area is pretty busy.

Yelp
I was in Mexico City 2 years ago and Zinco is one reason I can't wait to get back there. It was an easy and safe walk from and back to my hotel (on the Zocolo), even though I was admittedly half-crocked. The music was GREAT, I had the ribs and they were great, too. No drink problems for me as I ordered a bottle of wine. Had a reservation so the line I was in was short and fast. The ambiance was very hip, in a stereotypical 1950s jazz club way, something that doesn't exist anymore in most cities. The musicians did a lot of Ray Charles and other North American bluesey-jazz greats. Doug H

Yelp
Food is okay but passable. Limited alcohol menu and my cocktail was weak. Also no AC or air circulation and they don't open the doors for some air until you're suffocating. Saving grace was the music...sweet sounds of jazz!

Yelp
Great food and best jazz in town, love it. Totally recommend checking this place out while in DF

Yelp
Cozy atmosphere.. Every seat is close to the musicians. The food, drinks, and service are all top notch!

Yelp
The music starts VERY late and the service is terrible and rude. The food and space are very good.
