Ann Arbor’s Best Coffee Shops | Eater Detroit

"Zingerman’s Coffee Bar is tucked away in southside industrial park, next to the Zingerman’s Bakehouse and Creamery. A large “Brew Board” helps coffee drinkers navigate through over a dozen different roasts and seven brewing techniques. Those wishing for a more immersive experience can participate in one of the shop’s monthly “cuppings,” the coffee equivalent of a wine tasting." - John Reyes

The service is very friendly and welcoming! I ordered a seasonal special which had avocado, cold brew, blended with ice. I also ordered a delightful ginger scone. Beans are roasted in-house with a viewing window. There is also a confections shop located inside. The shop offers about 10 cafe tables plus a dining rail with about 6 seats (if I remember correctly).

Google
Zingerman's Coffee offers some great drinks and snacks in a comfortable setting. There's a lot of candies for sale just across from the cafe (in the same place), and the staff is very helpful. I tried a drink that was a combination of coke and espresso that turned out to be quite good. Zingerman's continues to be an excellent reason to travel to Ann Arbor.

Went for coffee and got the best & strongest cold brew. Cousin got a London fog and it was delicious as well. Amazing service and vibe.

Google
Hidden Gem outside of downtown Ann Arbor near 94 expressway. Has Decaf Drip ready! Serious coffee options and you can view the roasting. Outstanding place. The atmosphere inside is fun and inviting. A great place to sit with a laptop and get some things done. The bakery is plentiful and taste amazing. I highly recommend this morning coffee institution.

Awesome place with a wide selection of coffee and snacks! It's hard to find seating though.

Google
Really nice place and fun atmosphere, looks like a good place to post up for a bit and get some work done. Got the cafe con miel which was made with honey and cinnamon and was really good. My main gripe with those kinds of drinks is it’s wayyyy too sweet usually, and not even coffee anymore but this was really nice and balanced. Got a cherry cheese danish too that was pretty good too.

Google
Great coffee shop with wonderful atmosphere, drinks, and service. The wait is usually short, and the service is usually great. We have enjoyed coffees from here dozens of times and the only service issue we ever had was with the staff mistakenly making a decaf latte with fully caffeinated espresso beans. However, this only happened once, and they were happy to remake the drink. There is also a delicious local candy vendor here called J. Patrice, who sells wonderful, gourmet candies, including marzipan, chocolates, and fruit candies.

Google
This place is a vibe with one of the best matchas 🍵. They have great toasts and I got candy while waiting for my matcha. The staff was insanely nice and opened the class area because all the plugs were in use. Their wifi was fast and worked well. The staff is all just amazing humans and really care.

Yelp
Zingerman's quality and great service. Try the "Caviar of the South" toast- and any coffee on the menu!

Yelp
I'm a huge fan of all things Zingerman's, so of course I'm going to love their Coffee Co. And I'm really not even a coffee drinker! For fans of coffee, I'm sure you'll find a cup here that you'll love. They have so many different coffees that feel very thoughtfully and interestingly sourced. My go-to drink order is usually a chai latte with almond milk (they have a few options for non-dairy milks). The mug is large and very cozy. If I'm feeling hungry as well, their toasts are huge, bigger than you'd think, featuring their bakery and creamery products. The one with pimiento cheese (Caviar of the South) is phenomenal as is the Rose's Sweet Heat, depending on if you're feeling more savory or sweet. Can be a little pricey (a large drink/non-dairy milk extra + a toast will come out around ~$17), so this is more an occasional treat. I like coming here to do a bit of focused work when I need a change of environment (I work from home). There are tables to sit at, and free/public WiFi is available. Typically when I go, I usually see a few people working/studying, and also people simply gathering with friends for conversation over cafe drinks. Plenty of parking, and be sure to visit the other Zingerman's businesses in the same strip. Be aware they do all have different opening hours though, so check that before you go!

Yelp
Stopped in for a Wednesday morning coffee to the location south of I-94, near Costco It is in a strange location in an industrial sub with a bunch of other Zingerman businesses. One nice benefit in the Ann Arbor area is no need to worry about parking. I had a coffee and a cinnamon roll. Both of which were good. The small coffee is on the smaller side (6oz ?) which I prefer. The cinnamon roll was a nice size as well (on the smaller side). The coffee was on the darker side like most. There is good seating at this location with a variety of tables. It has the classic Zingerman's look and feel. The service was fast and friendly.

Yelp
Really enjoyed this coffee shop. I got an Iced caramel latte - it was smooth and creamy, not overly sweet. The space is quite spacious and lot of tables. Good place to work/study. They have variety of baked goods and also a chocolate shop. The staff were all really friendly.

Yelp
Such a fun, inviting, warm space for coffee in such an odd location, an industrial park. While we knew this existed. we never had a chance to venture over here until now. I love the space with a lot of room to sit and a some good retail space with their adorable chocolate shop. They have a nice coffee and treat selection, so many things too little stomach room. We have been to the little downtown coffee space near the deli in the past and loved their New York egg cream which I did not see this time here, that is a favorite drink, but there was plenty of good choices here. I love a good small business coffee shop. While we love the big chains, there is honestly nothing like a good down to earth Michigan made mocha. We also visited the candy area and purchased some goodies, very delectable. The pate de fruits and marzipan were out of this world delicious. Since only two of us visited, I know I will need to bring back the entire family and spend an afternoon eating our way through this row of cafes and shops.

Yelp
Delicious Iron Goddess of Mercy tea. Service is always friendly. A great space for musing.

Yelp
My absolute FAVORITE coffee shop in the world! I don't say that lightly. This place is legit. HOME ROASTED, HAND BREWED COFFEE - They offer ~15 single origin beans to pick from, roast beans on-site and hand brew their coffee 6 different ways to order. They offer drip coffee but I HIGHLY recommend the hand brewed options. BIG BREW BOARD - don't be intimidated by the number of decisions. The big brew board lists each coffee bean and describes its flavor profile for each brew method. Just pick what sounds delicious. My favorites include: Brazil Sweet Yellow - toasty and nutty and super sm PASTRIES - the Zingerman's bakehouse is just a few doors down, which means the coffee shop also offers amazing pastries. Today I enjoyed a LEMON scone which had super lemon flavor. I also enjoyed a pan au chocolate which was buttery and fantastic quality chocolate. SUSTAINABILITY - Excited to see that they offer three bins for disposal: landfill, recycle and compost. Don't worry, there are instructions for what to put where.

Yelp
Every good coffee shop has a specialty. Sometimes the trick is figuring out what a place does better than anybody else. At Zingerman's Coffee Company, the answer is looming above you. In fact, it is so big, you might miss it. There is so much happening on what appears to be a giant bingo board, that it may be too overwhelming to take it all in. But take a breath. Look up. And... ...step into the coffee multiverse. Because at Zingerman's Coffee Company, not only do they roast more kinds of beans than you could realistically sample on a week's worth of visits, they also have the tools to brew those beans in a fantastical number of ways. But wait. There's more. The giant coffee board also lists the tasting notes on how the flavors within all of those different beans express themselves in different extraction methods. Can I get a, "Wow!"? Personally, ZCC is not where I would go for espresso drinks. But coffee brewed with a syphon filter? Heck yeah! Those things make a terrific cup of coffee, but are an incredible PITA to use and to clean. So I'm thrilled to have a local shop that will take the time and effort to warm the equipment, grind beans to order, monitor the finicky brewing process, and present me with the finished elixir. I wish I was drinking more coffee these days so I could really get deep into the coffee menu and triangulate my ideal extraction for my favorite beans. Should my addiction ever fully resurface, you bet I'll be here more often. Until then, this is an occasional treat, made even better with one of those delightful palmiers from the Bakehouse a few doors down.

Yelp
I've been drinking coffee since I was about 5 years old. It was Sanka with my great grandfather, so can we really call that coffee? I think it was the full experience of feeling grown up and hanging out with a great man in the summer. Fast forward a few *ahem* years and I've become a bit of a connoisseur, in my own right. Naturally when I visit a place, one of my first Google searches is for "Best coffee". This place popped up and I followed the directions that took me to a business park. I was skeptical. Then intrigued. THEN, impressed. The entire concept, never mind the block long business occupancy, was unique. Bakery, coffee, cafe, candy, classes, yes! All of it!! So many options, Andy I can't wait to visit again!
google avatar

Yelp
This coffee place has many different types of coffee that can be prepared in many different ways. Their menu board has a huge matrix of coffees and preparation method to guide your ordering. They also make the typical drinks like latte and cappuccino. I had a mocha and it was one of the few mochas that I've had that tasted like good chocolate rather than a sugary chocolate syrup. They also sell different kinds of toasts. I had the Teutonic Toast which was their toasted dinkelbrot topped with goat cheese and cumin seeds. Very tasty, but next time I would ask for less cheese. They were busy and slow on the weekday morning that I was there so plan on it taking awhile or order ahead.

Yelp
Zingerman's Coffee Co is always a must before I drive back home to Illinois. I love that they put some salt on top of the Nutty Monkey toast to give it that sweet and salty flavor profile. Also had a strawberry and banana smoothie that was delicious as well. Staff is super friendly! Can't wait to come back and visit again!

Yelp
Firstly, I want to say the service is great, with friendly staff and great coffee/food. I am not confrontational so I did not mention too much to the workers, but one worker, who was very polite and welcoming, decided to flip the screen to the iPad (for payments) and give herself a tip that I didn't agree too. I completely understand working in the food service can be thankless and feeling under appreciated by clientele is common. With that said, she had no right to steal my money like that. I'm more than willing to tip well, but the unethical choice of her deciding how much I give was very disheartening. I don't care too much for a few dollars stolen from me, I'm more so upset she had the nerve to steal right in front of me but I let it go. This isn't a reflection of the service nor the employees, it's more likely she's somebody struggling financially, but again that gives her no right to steal from others. I hope I'm Misreading something (though my bank account shows otherwise), and it was just a mistake. I should have confronted her immediately but I had no time I had to leave, and I chose to see if it was logical to even complain. It was. Again the service is great and I do not fault her for doing this especially if she's living in hard times. However, Please don't allow this. Thank you

Yelp
This is my first time here. Place is clean. Staff is friendly. Music is not loud, so one could stay and enjoy the area. Good brownie - my friend said this is her favorite brownie. Another customer had five drinks and also had a small toddler, an employee insisted on opening the door for her. Awesome customer service!!!

Yelp
Very easy going atmosphere. Food and servers were excellent and very helpful. The store had a large variety of items that were tasty and easy to buy for gifts.

Yelp
We went to the Bakehouse for some treats and we wanted to enjoy them with some coffee . We ordered a latte to realize they close at 4:00 pm! Seems a little early but we now know for next time. In addition to coffee, they sell other treats.

Yelp
Shelter at home and getting a bag of beans in my first ZingShare box inspired me to FINALLY get into homemade coffee brewin'. My homies back in Los Angeles are ALL about the Chemex steez and cold brew life. But, I resisted with ALL my might because there were a multitude of hipster coffee shops in downtown Los Angeles! But, now that I had an amazing bag of beans -- I couldn't let it go to waste! Before I stopped into Zingerman's coffee, I called ahead to see if they would be able to help me with brewing equipment. I stopped in about 30 minutes before closing (3:30pm as they have shortened hours now). They had an awesome set up of all their bundles available and all the brewing methods. Lydia was AMAZING & the epitome of fantastic service. She walked me through all the different methods as well as the pros & cons. I ended up being stuck between the French Press and a Bona Vita Clever drip. She was kind enough to make me some coffee with both methods so I could try it out! Zingerman's service at its finest! I walked out with ANOTHER bag of beans & all the things I need for home brewing. My spouse and I have been really enjoying all the home brewed coffee! I'll be back for more beans!

Yelp
What an amazing experience with tasty, handcrafted coffee selection. They have an amazing fresh baked goods and handcrafted chocolate selection to die for. it was a perfect double shot cappuccino to start the day.

Yelp
This really is a wonderful place. Came here as I had a gift card and really had a hard time picking out a drink. I came after work on nights so my choice needed to be good cold as it would go in the fridge to be saved for later. I chose the cold brew with caramel and it was amazingly delicious. I only wish it was closer so I could visit more often.

G C.

Yelp
Went to the store just off I-94. This place has everything in actually 3 stores. First one has baked goods, chocolate croissants are awesome, and various cheese goods. 2nd one has various ice cream goods and the 3rd has coffees and teas. Go there!!

Yelp
The coffee company recently underwent a renovation and it's awesome! Big windows in the seating area show off all of their impressive roasting equipment, and a slightly expanded dining menu also offers a tasty variety of toasts (as well as the bakehouse pastries that are excellent). They collaborate with their neighbors at the bakehouse, creamery, and candy company to make something truly fantastic. The coffee has also really excelled since I last wrote my a review here. It's always been great but they really dialed in over the last few years. Their roasts vary from regions like South and Central America, to Asia and the Pacific, to Africa. Light, medium or dark, fruity, floral or earthy, so no matter your preference you will find a delicious roast here suitable to your tastebuds And in warmer weather, their cold brew with a touch of cream and simple syrup is one of my favorite treats. I love buying their beans both from here and Plum Market and brewing at home. Seating is plentiful and comfortable for just a cup catching up with friends or a bit of working and caffeinating. They also offer coffee cuppings, brewing courses, and other special events and lectures on the mighty coffee bean so check their website for dates and details as they arise!

Yelp
Let me tell you, if you're trying to find this place via GPS you will get lost in a maze of businesses. Just remember it's with all the other Zingerman businesses, it's super colorful, and all the way in the back not facing the main road. From the outside it looks tiny, but on the inside there are lots of chairs and area to sit and hang out. I tried the cappuccino and cold brew. The cappuccino tasted more like milk than coffee so I wasn't a huge fan. The cold brew was very strong and fabulous. There are a lot of good selections here so I'd you want a quick snack and a delicious coffee I would highly recommend this place.

Yelp
Cheers to the successful venture because, frankly, I thought their first attempt at roasting coffee was a feeble fumble in the early 2000s. Come late 2018 and the coffee roasters venture, conveniently placed in-line with the bakery, creamery and candy shop is a fine way to while away a couple of hours. The famous deli in Kerry Town came first. At that time it was just the deli, bagels, albeit good, were outsourced as was the coffee. Like the bagels, the initial attempt to break free of outsiders wasn't entirely successful and required trial and error redrawing to reach present levels of output and relative consistency. Today Zingerman's coffee is available directly from the roasters (they have one-pound bags here), The Roadhouse on Stadium, the deli, Plum Markets and mail-order. The selection is phenomenal, I like that their roasters tend to emphasize the inherent flavors of single-sourced varieties and the blends are also top notch. Standouts include the Eithiopian beans, Italian espresso roasts and Sumatra types. The café is large, well lit, set up for technology and goodies galore. Prices, although high, are comparable with similar higher end coffees locally (Mighty Good) or nationally (Intelligensia).

Yelp
Delicious and delightful. Craving some more and can't wait to drop my daughter to school so I can swing by for some goodies!!

Yelp
When meeting a coworker in AA, Zingerman's seemed like the only option. It was the best possible place we could have met. first of all, I didn't realize they have an entire industrial park! All their different brands (bakeshop, coffee, candy, etc...) have a storefront in this industrial complex. We decided on Zingerman's because there was outdoor seating and wifi, and in this pandemic we are NOT trying to sit inside and breathe other people's air. So we say outside on the iron sets for 3 hours and chatted with our masks on. The company was great, but the coffee was even greater! I got there a little early, so I started with a nitro. This cup was the largest cup of nitro I have ever been in the presence of. It as as big as my head, and more nitro than ANYONE needs in a single day. And I drank every single drop of it. After a couple hours, I wanted something a little sweeter, so I went back in for a second drink. I am trying to avoid refined sugars, so I asked if they could do anything sweetened with maple or honey. to my surprise they already had a drink on the menu using only honey and cinnamon - the Cafe con miel. I got this drink iced and with skim milk. It might have been the best thing that ever happened to me. I keep trying to order the cafe con miel at each new coffee shop I visit, and they're good but never as good as Zingerman's!

Yelp
It was my first time here recently. I went here as per one of my uncle's recommendation. I was just curious to see how their café and roastery were. It's a big place with a large variety of coffee flavors along with tea Ann's few other items. There's a big chalk board menu with various coffee flavors and next to it is the menu for the variety of coffee and tea beverages they offer. The place has a nice sitting area. I saw folks studying, just chilling and even working. My wife ordered a short sweet matcha latte and I got myself Java Mokha iced coffee. They were good. I liked this place and would go again. I would like try their coffee flavors. Definitely check them out when in the Ann Arbor area.

Yelp
Every time I come to Ann Arbor, I have to stop here! It's the best way to get the full Zingerman's experience without the hustle and bustle of their main store closer to downtown. The coffee shop, bakehouse, creamery, and candy shop are in an unassuming location off of I-94; it may seem confusing when you try to find it, but if you see a bunch of warehouses, you're in the right place! The Coffee Co has added to their menu since the last time I was there (several months ago) - there are a lot more choices when you're ordering your coffee! They also added a toast menu, which is honestly the best part. I had a cup of hot black tea; they do lose leaf in a bag, which is always the best way to go. My mom got a drip coffee, which they served in an awesome glass. For our food, I got the English summer toast, and my mom tried one of the specials - sweet heat toast. I truly believe toast is significantly underrated in general, but when you add Zingerman's bread into the equation, just wow. The toppings were delicious but still allowed the bread to be the true star, which is just perfect. Overall, one of my must-stops in Ann Arbor just got even better, and I can't wait to go back again!
google avatar

Caitlin R.

Yelp
Get the toast! I got one with a tomato, eggplant, red pepper spread on top of cream cheese (although I think next time I'd request goat cheese) on a sesame bread and it was really amazing. The slice was at least an inch thick. I got my food togo and went and sat further down by the other Zingerman's and enjoyed some sunshine. After I finished, I popped into the other Zingerman's and got some pastries to go. I was staying at a hotel within walking distance from this location, but if you're coming from afar, the atmosphere of the business park is underwhelming.
google avatar

Chloe' H.

Yelp
I was really impressed with their Big Brew Board listing their beans and brewing methods. I went with the cold brew which was tasty but next time I'll try one of their specialty drinks or a something off the board. They had indoor seating and fun little shopping section. I'm looking forward to going back again!

Yelp
It's off the beaten path, but Zingerman's Coffee Co is truly a diamond in the rough. I found it recently after some friends visiting from out of town wanted early-morning coffee somewhere local and stumbled across the java joint. When it came time to meet them for breakfast, it seemed like there was no better place than Zingerman's for us to get together. As you arrive, you'll be sure your GPS has taken you down a wrong turn, as you'll pass several warehouse-looking buildings. Even when I arrived and saw the signs and awnings, I was sure I had come to just the roastery headquarters. But one step inside and I knew I had reached Java Nirvana. In a spacious coffeehouse is an impressive Punnet Square of every imaginable permutation of bean, roast, pour, and addition. As more of a coffee novice than a coffee connoisseur, I went with a light roast, black, but marveled at what combinations I could choose from. There are tables and comfy chairs spaced around, all the better for visiting with friends, so you can sip and linger for a spell. The next time you need to add a little zip to your coffee routine, stop by Zingerman's for a sip you won't soon forget!
google avatar

Martha R.

Yelp
Now that the restaurants are back to semi-operational there is seating available inside the coffee shop. There are only a few tables and they are appropriately separated. They also only allow you to stay at the tables for 30min. I'm going to guess that they are either required to hold such limits or they are trying to make space for more people. Either way, I find 30min to be a little on the short side (I'm a slow drinker and eater.) For all things Zingerman's, I am quite the fan and this place is no exception. I wish that they had some more baked goods available here though (last two times I went there was VERY limited selection.) Parking is ample, service is friendly-ish. They also clean between patrons. Of course I'll be back.

Yelp
We always buy coffee and and pastry from them when we visit our son at Ann Arbor. Strong and tasty coffee, pastry always fresh and delicious.

Yelp
My favorite mocha in Ann Arbor! Super chocolate-y and delicious. Definitely satisfies my chocolate cravings. Great place to do some work or study!

Yelp
If you love Espresso get a Cubano...the best! Also love to visit the Bakehouse on Sunday mornings for the chocolate glazed doughnuts.

Yelp
How do you distinguish yourself among all the bougie coffee shops? Good coffee + a great concept. Zingerman's coffee sources their coffee from all over the world and roast locally in their own backroom. Their coffee is aromatically tasty and the varieties they have make me crave to go back. The Macchiato I got there is super dense yet delicious. I would for sure go back if I visit the area again!
google avatar

Chris B.

Yelp
It's very Zingerman's-y. Everything is decent to excellent quality, but you pay a bit of the premium for the name and whatever ingredients they're using. I personally find it less justifiable when it comes to coffee and tea (in particular their large Matcha Latte costs over $8 which is insane), but for all the connossieurs out there, if you can tell the difference, then be my guest. As at any other Zingerman's establishment, the staff is very friendly. They also recently renovated the interior in the past year to make better use of the space. It feels like a warehouse when you step in. Which is perhaps to be expected on this very industrial side of Ann Arbor.

Yelp
If you like coffee this place is for you. They have an extensive menu board that gives you not only coffee flavor options, but it also includes a plethora of ways you can have your coffee brewed. Some of the options you can choose from are pour over, french press, or chemex. The board also gives you specific flavor profiles that are brought out with each method. On my first visit here I ordered the french roast brewed using a the chemex method. It made brewing an ordinary cup of coffee cooler and more scientific in a way. The baristas here are knowledgeable and can give you suggestions based on your taste preferences. They also sell pastries from their bakery down a couple of doors (Tip: if you get there at the right time the pastries are half off). You can also purchase any coffee that they brew along with other coffee essentials. So you to can be your own scientific barista at home.

Yelp
This shop has become one of my favorite Havens in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The people at this awesome shop really know about coffee...they're top notch. FYI, these guys roast their coffee beans. I know that from this point on...I will visit this awesome shop whenever I'm in Ann Arbor. I highly recommend this awesome shop!!!
google avatar

Yelp
I'm confused by any low rating for this place.. if you are looking for your average coffee/cup of joe, this isn't it. They roast their own beans in small batches. This is a coffee experience: 1. pick your roast (there were literally over 20 on the board!) 2. choose your brewing method: Pourover,Chemex, Areopress, Immersion, etc and here's the best part: if this seems confusing to you, just ask them. These are the nicest and most knowledgeable people in the business. and you don't have to like coffee. My mom ordered a hot, turmeric ginger tea and thought it was the best she'd ever had. (yes, they are scooping the loose tea into the sachets and controlling the water temp) I am going to suggest you either take your drink for a walk to the bakehouse/Candy house, OR stop there first and walk it on down to the coffee bar if seats are available.

Yelp
Simply the best. Amazing coffee, baked goods and service Stop here every single time I am in the region.

Yelp
Ordered Aeropress style Dark Coffee upon the staff suggestion which clearly lacked any aroma nor carries any punch . Pecan Bun was a huge disappointment. Not worth the money. Pros: ------- Friendly Staff Free Wifi Free Parking Cons: --------- Food should definitely get better. Can't comment about the coffee's as I have tried only one but definitely pastry can get a lot better

Yelp
This place has the most variety of ways to create a coffee than any place I've ever been. When I say create a coffee I truly mean create one. They have coffee varieties are from all over the world, and muptile styles to make them clearly spelled out in a way a non coffee aficionado like myself appreciates. The location is a little I'm the cut but once you find it you'll remember. just use a gps the first time. What's cool is this hidden gem of a coffee shop is that its like a gateway to a set of cool variety of Zingermans food shops. The coffee shop also packs many pastries, cake and specials that will satisfy a sweet tooth. Wifi is on deck at this location too. I'll recommend this to anyone in the local area even if you don't go to the coffee shop there will be something in the complex you will enjoy. I will definitely be back, the creativeness of their brews, the muptile styles to choose from and the many ways to customize your drink make for a unique and fun experience.

Yelp
I met a friend at the café. I didn't realize how much Zingerman's had grown beyond the Bakehouse. There's a cheese shop and gelateria and the café. We had French Roast coffee and a nice overpriced toast with cream cheese topped with cucumber. Tasted good just overpriced. If you want to come for a conversation, don't. The ceiling is so high and background noise is way above normal decibels that I had to cup my ear to hear my friend.

Yelp
Great matcha latte with a large variety of vegan milk options! Although it was too noisy for me to sit down and do work, it's a great place to grab a drink with a friend. They also have a large variety of smaller food options like muffins, fancy toasts, etc. Fair warning, it's a lot more pricey than other local options for matcha lattes!

Yelp
I tried their Turmeric Ginger Chai Latte and the Poppy seed tea cake. Both were well made and fresh. Zingerman always serves good quality produce.

Yelp
My favorite coffee in the world in a fun Ann Arbor gem. I have always admired and loved the Zing culture and community and try to get to the cafe often for an enjoyable weekend morning to reset. The addition of toasts over the last year has been awesome! Friendly staff, quality everything.

Yelp
Ordered a large latte before a long trip. Latte was watered down, lack of froth. At that price point, I was expecting a better quality of coffee.

Yelp
This place made me do a little happy dance in my coffee house seat! How did I not know about this place after living in Ann Arbor for so long? First, I love that this place has ample, easy parking and that it's also much closer to where I live than the downtown location. The high ceilings and warehouse feel was different than your usual snuggle-in coffee house. I walked in and wasn't quite sure what to order - the large grid wall took me off guard and I realized I had WAY more choices than I ever expected. Luckily the barista was extremely friendly and told me not to fret - most people go with their standard coffee bean and make it into a standard cup of joe or a nice latte. The latter sounded delicious so I went with that, a nice non-fat latte to go. Oh I was so excited when I took that first sip. It was SO incredibly smooth and the espresso and milk complimented each other so perfectly. I sipped on that thing so slow so it lasted me all morning.

Yelp
It was my first time here recently. I was just curious to see how their café and roastery were. It's a big place with a large variety of coffee flavors and Ann's few other items. There's a big chalk board menu with various coffee flavors and next to it is the menu for the variety of coffee beverages they offer. The place has a nice sitting area. I saw folks studying, just chilling and even working. They were good. I liked this place. Definitely check them out when in the Ann Arbor area.

Yelp
Their internet was down but they were still able to make my mobile order in a timely fashion. The Caviar of the South Toast had a nice smoky flavor and the peppers complimented it nice. The upgraded pb&j (sweat wheat toast) nailed the ratio of almond butter to there berry puree. The bread itself was ok the thicker side but filling. They also had an impressive selection of coffee and brewing methods. We liked the large flavor chart chalkboard.

Yelp
Followed yelp recommendations for what was nearby, and this time it was a fail! First off, the location is in an industrial complex and my gps took me through the complex, between industrial type businesses, I began to think I had entered the address to a coffee production facility. I turned around to leave and that's when I saw the sign. Several other Zingerman's facilities/shops were in the same area, the coffee place was at the end. The interior appeared under construction with plastic sheeting to the floor. I ordered a pumpkin spice latte (hey, it's the season!) it was ready quickly, but absolutely terrible, I think they missed a shot of something as it had no sweetness at all. There was a sign that dogs were allowed, but hopefully your dog is better behaved than my toddler (honestly, I am sure they are), because there are many small things and chocolates very low to the floor on display shelves. Overall, the environment was not desirable for a coffee shop both by exterior and interior (interior may improve when construction is done), and the coffee was bad. There were signs for education (for Zingerman's business training?), not sure if the barista/baristos are also in training.
