The 34 Best Athens Restaurants | Eater

"Since opening in 2017, Zisis has made the case for seafood as street food. Based on its immediate popularity among snackers on the go, the restaurant was preaching to the choir. Zisis serves fried sardines, anchovies, shrimp, and squid in paper cones, which you can take to go or eat at the restaurant with a glass of tsipouro or ouzo (anise is a perfect match with seafood). The staff is amazing so kind and friendly but other than that the food I find a bit disappointing although I liked the idea of eating from the cones. It is far too expensive. For a cône of sand smelt,French fries, small draught beer and a small sauce I paid 17 euros.

Zisis offers a fantastic, efficient seafood experience in Athens. The 6-piece shrimp pane is deliciously crispy, and the grilled squid is good. Service is remarkably fast.

Good seafood with good staff. The fish quality is not top notch but the taste is good enough. The greek salad was amazing and the bread super tasty. I recommend the small shrimps. The staff is really nice and attentive. The atmosphere is completely touristic don't expect a local place. But it's comfortable.

Tourist trap, terrible quality food for high prices. The crab claw has no actual crab, just a tiny crab claw shell sticking out of fried who knows what. For 14 euros, The risotto has no real cheese. Its basically curry orzo rice with vegetables, it tastes like ramen noodle seasoning. There are 3 watery prawns, and 3 crunchy full of sand mussels. The fried squid was good, just stick to the fried fish to go here, and avoid the crab claw scam. How can you sleep at night serving this risotto?

Reasonable priced old shop with old Greek mother-like lady cooking the fish. The fish were lightly fried and easy to chew and swallow including bones. The little anchovies surprisingly tasted so meaty. And the sardines tasted so fresh. All fried and served in a paper cone by a friendly waiter. The Zisis salad was good too, fresh lettuce and some mint flavour, though I would have enjoyed it more with more of the smoked mussels.

This is a nice cute little restaurant near Athens Flea market. Very good taste until we order again and again. Highly recommended

Zisis – Fish in the Cone: Small Space, Big Flavor Zisis in Athens is a cozy seafood spot that delivers seriously satisfying bites. We tried the cod with potato salad, and it was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The concept of seafood served in cones is fun and practical, especially for exploring the city on foot. With friendly service and a laid-back vibe, Zisis is a great stop for anyone craving authentic Greek seafood without the fuss.

At this place you will taste the best most fresh fish and shrimps ever.🐟🦐🐙 We got to this place exactly 20 minutes before it closed and they welcomed us to sit. The waiters are very friendly and patient. We ordered the fried sardines, fried calamari, and fried shrimps. The sardines were SO FRESH like you could still taste the sea in them. The food was perfectly cooked and served nicely. This was my mom's favorite place in athens, and I will definitely come back when I get the chance.
