This was our second visit to Ziziki's in the last couple of months for their Sunday brunch. Galina was our server once again, and it was a delightful experience as always. She is very attentive and quick, and elevates the whole experience to a higher level. The food is consistently delicious every time too. You have a plethora of items to choose from.
Normally, with brunch, you get all the items on the brunch menu, but if you are like us and don't like to waste food, if you are not in the mood for something, just ask. They will be happy to substitute it for something else from the menu, or skip it altogether if you'd like. For example, the first course comes with scrambled eggs and blueberry pancakes with maple syrup. While the scrambled eggs are absolutely delicious with fresh basil and feta cheese, the sweet pancakes feel a little out of place, since they would fit better with the dessert menu. We learned that you can always request them separately at the end of your meal.
The place is very cozy and has a very well thought-out interior with references to Greek culture. We loved the golden chandeliers shaped as grape branches, the Greek seascape wallpaper and windmills, and even the little black olive tree imitations. Overall it works very well to recreate a feeling of Greece in the heart of Texas. It's not Santorini, but you can pretend for a minute, can't you? The place can accommodate both small and large parties, though it would be a good idea to call ahead for a reservation, especially on Sundays, as they can get very busy.
