The 38 Essential Milwaukee Restaurants

"Since opening in 2019, Milwaukee’s first food truck park has been a bastion of boozy summer meetups and long meals, necessitating a stop at least every couple months to see what’s new. After a revamp, the current lineup includes pizza, tacos, ice cream, maki, and bagels. If you need some direction, check out Meat and Co’s delightfully devilish Nashville chicken sandwich and completely barbarous chopped cheese. Along with DJs and comedy nights, reservable heated huts keep the party going year round." - Todd Lazarski

Lots of great options of food. Good prices. Great place in the spring/summer to eat and hang out. Cute little date spot or with friends.

Found this place on accident looking for deli shops! Pleasantly surprised how marvelous this food truck/bar spot is! Perfect for an indecisive group that wants a plethora of options plus a bar and yard games. Lots of space inside and outside. Dog friendly is the added cherry on top of a perfect spot! Update: more seating added to the indoor area plus many more yummy food trucks. Sapsap, Modern Maki, and elevate coffee are all top notch.

Easily 5 stars. Great spot to hang out with friends and be loud if you want to. As a food park, there are always at least 2 different places to try from which is good. I like options. Please keep in mind that food vendors are constantly changing/evolving and and reviews you read doesn't necessarily apply to your visit. Check the website for current vendors. I visited twice. At the time of my visits there were no burger vendors available which is a disappointment for me personally. However, I think it's safe to say that you'll find something good to eat. Especially if you visit before 7pm-ish. There is a great bar on site and they allow food from the trucks (obviously). The bar has a unisex bathroom and the park also has bathrooms which closed at 10 last time I was there so keep that in mind.

My favorite place to bring friends and family for a fun meal. Depending on what time of day some trucks might be closed, or alternatively the lines may be very long/wait times very long, but this place is always a good time. Zócalo always has the best food trucks, energizing atmosphere, cool events, kind people, and cozy spaces. On my last visit the bartender was a real sweetheart (pictured is the Mint to Be Blueberry Nojito). This place is in an interesting location where they get all kinds of people from all walks of life, in the best possible way. I’ve had the best conversations here. And the building is beautiful! As for the trucks themselves you can’t go wrong—I love anytime arepa, the oriental place (beef Bahn mi of course), the Filipino Mexican fusion place (this place is actually bomb but I haven’t seen them there in a while), the sushi place, and bagels. Overall a great place.

Five of us ate here on December 27; it was kind of cold and rainy outside but the hut was warm and cozy! We were able to order from the variety of food trucks and they delivered the food to our hut. A few of us wanted to walk around and order and that worked, too. We also were able to order drinks from the bar. A unique way to eat before moving on to fun stuff in the city. (Highly recommend the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum which is just a couple minutes away.)

Great place if good weather. Food truck folks are prompt, courteous, and all smiles. Food taste great but depending on the crowd, you might get a larger portion on day 1 vs day 2. I went back the next day for the same dish and got only half the amount compared to the day before. Last but not least, some dishes are too pricey.

There was a lady selling fresh fruit and corn in a cup…… By far the best corn I have ever had she use real butter that was heated. It elevated the simple dish by 10. I also had the pizza which was fresh and flat out delicious.

This is definitely the summer spot! The amount of space and food options is out of this world. The bar has a great amount of drink options and it sounds like they are always rotating in new stuff. I decided to do some Asian chicken from sandu and it was amazing! The only thing I can say is I wish I had some sauce to put on top. Maybe like a peanut sauce of some sort. The service was top notch, everything about this place was awesome. I'm definitely coming back again.

Yelp
Stopped here for lunch on a random weekday. Got the honey gojujang sandwich along with loaded fries (topped with kewpie, sesame, scallions). The chicken on the sandwich was flavorful, and the pickle was the perfect crunch / zing to compliment it. It was also not spicy, but more of a sweet / savory flavor combo. The fries had a nice crispy outside, where they are almost fluffy? My favorite type of fry. Overall just a little pricy, but I would come back regardless. I saw they have a Japanese fruit sandwich, I'll have to be back to try that!
