"Set right in the Capitol Mall, this upscale stunner (which also has outposts in University Village and Roseville) dons an elegant demeanor by way of heavy wooden doors, dark metal chandeliers and plenty of lush greenery. The sprawling outdoor patio boasts terrific people-watching. And though it’s named for Mexico City’s central plaza, this kitchen's menu offers regional highlights from around the country.Puebla-style chicken enchiladas, for instance, smothered in handmade mole poblano burst with flavor, while crispy tostadas contrast rich Michoacan-style carnitas against a zesty and bright salsa. Tequila nerds will thrill to the extensive selection, but there’s no shame in just ordering a margarita—the “Mango Fresco” with a tajín salt rim is a winner." - Michelin Inspector

"The heat-and-serve Thanksgiving meal from Zócalo in Sacramento may revolve around a traditional turkey, but the seasoning and the sides all lean towards Mexico." - The MICHELIN Guide

It was such a beautiful restaurant with a lot of seating. The service was great, as staff kept coming by and asking if we needed anything or wanted to order more food. Every was plated nicely. Fish tacos were pretty good. Even though I enjoyed the mole enchiladas, I thought they would be the highlight of the meal, but it was my blackberry margarita that won out.

First time eating here and it was amazing! Also, they kept fresh hot chips and salsa and bean dip coming. Large variety of delicious cocktails as well. Super friendly and attentive staff. We will definitely eat here again when visiting Sacramento.

Nice airy place, lots of light, lovely bar, thoughtful decor (Mexican stone for tables), Puebla inspired bar deck, flowers/water etc. Served amazing nachos with salsa and warm bean paste. I asked for the Mole Enchiladas (Michelin guide recognition) and the server politely said ‘do you wanna taste it before you commit?!’ Wow :)

Celebrated Father's Day here this year and it was awesome! In addition to the complimentary chips, salsa, and bean dip, we ordered guacamole and ceviche. Both were really good. I got the arrachera for my entree and I loved it! For dessert, we all shared the churros and flan 😋

I think the best word to describe Zócalo Restaurant would have to be WOW! I was with Humbug Larry out in Rancho Cordova bringing this Aaspargastrometor on line for this guy that thinks Star Trek is based on his real life experiences..and couldn't get outa there fast enough! We got back into civilization right about lunchtime, and the Humbug says he wants Mexican, but not just any Mexican...It's gotta be Zócalo Restaurant or nothing, he says it's the best in Sacramento. Well, I started with a casadia and followed it up with 4 of the best birria tacos I've ever had..They were Amazing! ☆☆☆☆☆

Delicious tacos. We had the Two Taco Mix plate. One with chicken the other with steak. Along with delicious rice and beans. The tacos are on the small side. Should have ordered three.. The chips and salsa was very good. The only negative thing was we had to wait 15 minutes to get our check after we finished eating and they took our plates away.

Our experience was overwhelmingly positive. The food was nothing short of a Michelin experience and the interior design and mariachi were stellar. The hospitality and customer service from Oscar, our waiter was impeccable : we felt welcomed and taken care of which was a refreshing departure from the first waitress (who wore a short black dress/ tan complexion and petite in height). This waitress seated our party initially and was very brisk in her tone. She seemed bothered to distribute the menus and threw the silverware. It was a blemish on an otherwise immaculate experience. We literally had to be extra polite to her so we could somehow set a new tempo for her to follow because she was being a little hostile.
