Best Karaoke Bars in Montreal | Eater Montreal

"Karaoke, cocktails, and fondue unexpectedly come together at this resto-bar in St-Michel. But for anyone not yet ready to leave the comfort of their home, there’s the odd option of Facebook live streams of the karaoke sessions happening on-site." - Eater Staff

Where to Eat Fondue and Other Swiss Food in Montreal | Eater Montreal

"Karaoke and fondue might not seem like the most natural combination, but it somehow works at Bar Zoé, where you’ll also find an extensive list of cocktails. The simple menu offers the option of cheese (traditional and forestière, with Swiss cheese and mushrooms) or Chinese-style hot pot, plus sides to dip. It’s easy as choosing the next song." - Holly Tousignant

We had an amazing evening. With Chantal our server was extraordinary she explained how everything worked. Food, drinks, atmosphere was amazing. Will go back again and again.

Very disappointed. We went for my friend's birthday and the food took forever to come. Seated at 7, ordered food at 7:40 , fondue came at 9:30 So ridiculous! We were starving. A baked potato, small plate of veggies and all this simplicity : for a heavy price. Disappointing. DJ was friendly and nice. Never got our names called to sing either. Maybe we got a bad night, but I'm not planning on giving it another shot with that kinda tab.

This was surprisingly a great place to go if you love Chinese fondue and karaoke. I love the concept of all you can eat and trust me it is a whole lot of food!! The drinks are also amazing and atmosphere really hype!! I would definitely go back and would try not to be too shy the next time and do the karaoke 😉

Amazing place, great music, super nice staff; they even offered me a piece of cake to celebrate my Canadian citizenship. It was the first time going there and I felt really special. I definitely recommend it for a fun night :) ohhhhh Canadaaaaa. Merci pour votre amabilité et pour les bonnes ondes! A très bientôt.

Very Friendly and hardworking staff, great ambiance. Fondu is good but pricey, if you are not a big eater its not worth it by yourself but as a group its a fun time.

I enjoyed the experience a lot. I was just a little annoyed with the karaoke queue process, because after singing one song I had to wait another 2h30 to sing the second, and I believe it shouldn't have taken so long. Otherwise, the Fondue was excellent, the staff were very friendly and the atmosphere had nice lighting. I really liked that they give extra gifts to birthday people and free popcorn during the "Happy Hour" moment.

Such a fun place! Food is good, but I've had better. You don't go here for the food though!! Karaoke!

Google
Very nice place, great armosphere great DJ, amazing choice of songs, food was great. The sound during the performances could be improved, there is too much bass and not enough mid range so it's hard to hear the voice of the singers even for people who sing with a powerful voice. Place was packed, so typically you will be able to sing only 2 songs max if you're there from the beginning to midnight. We had a fantastic time at this place and we will go back.

Yelp
went there plenty of time for karaoke and always had a good service plus they have a lot of good cocktails . I would say they are a bit pricey but very delicious

Yelp
Groovy place to belt a few songs out! Great service and food. I am not a singer by any stretch of the imagination, but the crowd was so friendly and encouraging I sang twice. There were obvious regulars who could really sing! Would recommend to anyone looking for karaoke and good food. Also the cocktails were outstanding! Margarita (so many flavors) and the mai-tai simply delicious!

Yelp
This review will use the arbitrary rating system I use for all karaoke bars. See my lists for details. Bar Zoé Karaoke Et Cocktails (etc.) is probably one of the best karaoke bars in Montreal. It does a lot of things really well, nothing really badly, and a few things...surprisingly--and comes on top in almost every respect. Singing: Zoé's singing setup is the best I've seen anywhere. Singers (up to two live microphones) have a stage to themselves next to the DJ booth, and can easily read the lyrics from two visible screens. The acoustic is set up smartly with sensitive mics, invisible but powerful monitors and good instrumental tracks. The song selection is serviceable and often includes more than one version of popular tunes. If you've picked out a duet by mistake, the DJ will sing with you, even if he doesn't know the lyrics. He's a trooper. For the best conditions in town to absolutely destroy a song, I give Zoé's five Busted Microphones. Booze: This is Zoé's weakest point, which means it's merely good. The selling point of their bar menu is obviously the cocktails, being in the business name and all. They're tasty, generally sweet items for people who prefer their poison colourful. The full list of available mixed drinks is quite exhaustive and you can expect to find something right for you. The beer, on the other hand, is somewhat disappointing, with a limited selection of somewhat overpriced brands on tap. Still, with such a solid offering, your friends will soon find it in themselves to belt out their best Sinatra. For a great variety at the expense of decent cheap beer, Zoé receives four Bohemian Rhapsodies. Extras: This is where this place really shines. Let's agree that Karaoke is a gimmick to sell alcohol to groups who normally would not be inclined to close a bar, let even go to one. Zoé recognized this and ran with it. They will gimmick the crap out of you. Before the Karaoke starts, the bar doubles as a specialized fondue restaurant (!), and demonstrates a staggering dedication to the concept. The white tablecloths, the reusable towelettes, the wine card, the actually pretty great food and all the details I missed; it's like they're secretly ashamed of being a Karaoke bar. This makes for a mighty fine evening. There are some other inspired decisions. The songbooks are actually computers with keyboard screwed into the walls; you can look up songs by title or artist name almost immediately, provided you know what you are looking for. Singers have their back to a giant screen where onlookers can easily read the lyrics and sing along. There is a smallish dance floor. The gambling room is entirely isolated from the main bar. The restrooms are way classier than they have any reason to be. For outdoing themselves in any conceivable respect, Zoé gets five Awesomes out of a possible five. As with any Karaoke bar, your night will largely by defined by the people with you. That being said, once you are ready to surprise your coworkers with that one song you sing really well, you'd be hard pressed to find a better stage than Zoé's. It's relentless assault of genuine coolness on what is essentially a kitschy activity will win the hearts of even the most stuck-up anti-singing drones. Five stars.

Yelp
Zoe was my first time at a karaoke, so I don't know if it's usually the case, but people were actually... good! Their song library is huge and accessible from any mobile device, which is nice. You get to sing on a small stage with 2 mics, and multiple TVs to read lyrics from. A nice setup. Their only real weak point is the alcohol. They have a decent variety, and at low prices, however, the quality is also quite low. The Fin du Monde I ordered tasted absolutely not as it usually does. One positive thing is that they offer every beer in pitcher or girafe (2.5 l) Music is also quite loud, even in between performances, so not the best place to have a conversation. Overall a very nice place I will definitely visit again. And who knows... maybe one day I will vanquish my shyness and jump on stage!

Yelp
This place is pretty ridiculous, really. Like the famous Mint in San Fran, it's set up perfectly as a karaoke bar (with good sound, a proper stage, and a respectable dance floor, as all K-bars should have), yet for some inexplicable reason it incongruously doubles as a white-tablecloth fondue restaurant! I really can't imagine coming here to eat, but I'll definitely be back to sing the next time I'm in the city...

Yelp
Went here with a few friends to see what this place was really about. Food was pretty good. Space is really small though and there were a few times where I imagined the fondue pots being dropped on patrons. I got wasted and broke a wine glass, whoops. They should really rethink the white table cloths and thin wine glasses. Our server was great, very kind and attentive. We dropped about $600 for about 5 people. As for the karaoke DJ, it was a woman who was uber French. She seemed to allow the same people sing all of the time and maybe it was just me being an English snob but I found she catered to the French patrons, whatevs. Could have just been me. We didn't get to sign as much as we would have liked. Overall experience was fun, I think I'd go back, maybe.

Yelp
Last night I went to Zoe Fondues, Karaoke & Cocktails with a friend to celebrate her birthday with dinner and some karaoke. I was pleasantly surprised at the ambience of the small restaurant. The waiter immediately greeted us and made us feel at home. He was also attentive the whole night through. Zoe specialized in fondues and cocktails, so it was no surprise that there was a large variety of both. I passed on the cocktail. The food was a little pricey although the fondue meats were all you could eat. You wouldn't think that you could fill up on fondue, but when you eat slowly, it does fill you up. My friend and I opted for the table d'hote which included cheese fondue, followed by the meat fondue, then chocolate fondue for dessert. By the time we were done, we were fondued out. Each course was very tasty. But we went primarily to sing. Being a Wednesday evening, there was a comfortable 20 or so patrons, enough for a variety of singers and yet you didn't have to wait long for another turn at the mic. There was a good selection of songs in both French and English. The DJ was superb, providing a dance break after some time to stretch your legs and get your groove on. My friend and I had a wonderful time and look forward to going back. Next time I just won't order so much food.

Yelp
Overall great experience. Drinks are pretty cheap and high quality. Great atmosphere also. The only thing that did not make me give a 5 is the fact that the DJ only seems to favorise who sings and who waits. He or she (its the same story everytime I go) seems to only put up on stage whoever has the grestest voice. Like I know im not a great singer and im not thinking about recording an album anytime soon but this isnt a talent show either, its a karaoke bar where people just go and have fun. Regardless if they have singing talent or not, were all there to simply have a good time. The DJ should respect the order of his or her requests rather than choosing their personal favorites.

Yelp
First of all, don't go on the weekend... you get the old bags and the groups of underaged kids with fake id's. No ambiience! The dj Christopher will favor his friends or just put the requests in any random order. We waited one hour and a half to sing one song and the place was hardly full!, I saw people just arriving and would be called to sing within the next 10 minutes, gimme a f...break! The place used to rock. What!s happening? We had visitors from out of town. What a shame!
