Zoes is such an exceptional restaurant! The service is wonderful, caring, and understanding. Now, I'll skip straight to the food.
Here's what we had:
- Housemade baguette with butter
- Lobster Sausage Pops (WOW! I did not expect to love this so much! They were beautifully presented and each bite was warm, flavorful, and covered with a slightly sweet glaze.)
- Elote Dusted Charred Octopus (Just a stunning appetizer. A little heavy on the char for me, but a cool unique flavor combo.)
- Zoës old bay crab mac n' cheese (YES! I thought this was unreal. Big lumps of crab meat, saucy and cheesy, and perfectly seasoned with old bay. Honestly, if I go back and I'm not in the mood for steak, I would absolutely just get an order of this and a salad and would be happy.)
- 7 oz. Certified Angus Filet Mignon medium rare, served with herbed whipped potatoes, haricot verts, and bordelaise. (Absolutely hit the spot. The steak was perfectly cooked with a satisfying sear and a warm center that melted in my mouth.)
- Old Fashioned Brownie (Dense and rich and creamy and warm and cold and so nice.)
- Baked Alaska (The flavors and textures here were incredible. The gingerbread base had fresh pieces of ginger, and the puffed rice praline that surrounded the dish was crunchy and chewy and sweet and salty. The only thing was the pumpkin semifreddo was rock solid which made it pretty difficult to break into. Once we waited for it to melt a little, it was great.)
- Mini cranberry curd tarts with candied pumpkin seeds (Such a nice surprise from the chef to end the meal!)
I also tried my boyfriend's Wagyu Burger which was huge! And his fries of course. They were delightfully crispy and salty, such a great complement to the burger.
Zoes is classy and timeless. Marc, the sommelier, knows his stuff and is very caring toward every guest. He even told us about all of the experiences they offer for chef's tastings and private functions, plus the crazy list of wines they sell by the bottle.
