International Market Review - Belmont-Hillsboro - Nashville - The Infatuation

"The smoked beef and squash curry at International Market is better than a year’s worth of therapy (and we’re talking in-network, work-through-our-daddy-issues therapy). The five-spice braise mingling with Thai basil, coconut milk, and kaffir lime leaf is wholly cathartic, and lighter plates like Chinese broccoli dotted with tiny tofu croutons make for better support systems than some of our closest friends. Beyond that, it’s just a fun place to be—the staff is constantly bopping to Freddie Mercury while taking orders, and Belmont students excitedly pluck crab rangoon off the hotline for lunch. We also love their “Sunday Funday” dinner menu, which, sorry to disappoint the college kids, isn’t a rager so much as an excuse to crush a spicy fish sandwich or some donuts with condensed milk." - Ann Walczak

Spent $10 in the store on some produce and spices, then decided to look at the canned goods and tobacco selection for roughly 2-3 minutes. Old lady ran me out of the store shouting at me saying “she doesn’t want anybody sneaking around her store go and get out i don’t want your money” wouldn’t recommend spending a single dollar here and supporting that attitude. wish i would’ve refunded my items but didn’t want to hear another word from her. place looks like it hasn’t been cleaned or mopped in over a decade. don’t support this “business”.

Honestly this place is not clean, bad customer service, the bag sometimes you need to ask, they will mix your items like they won't, is like they don't have enough bag or I don't understand, The guy inside never great people, but we bring you our money, we deserve to be treated good. The product, some expired, when you go cook it is not un good condition, some don't taste good because they stay there for a while. They never respect the open time, you will be there on time but the door still closed... I will never recommend this place

This place is very strange! You pay through a window where that guy is hiding! He doesn't say much and just expect you to show him each of your items, that he will price from behind the counter and give you bags when you have insert your card and pay. They can do way better customer-wise and price-wise as well! We go there because they have some products we can't find elsewhere. But the store atmosphere is not it...

You get all your African foods in there. But just like any other African store, cleanliness isn’t a priority.

Prices are high, store isn't organized & cashier has to come out of his "safe" to weigh overpriced meat! He has no customer service! Older lady who seems to be the owner is friendly & helpful. Unimpressive 1st experience; as a new resident in Charlotte I will keep looking for an acceptable international grocery store! This place can't be it for Charlotte!!!!

I wouldn't recommend this place, prices are way to high and unorganized. They don't help with questions unless you speak the same language, I am american however my children are West African and I make their traditional meals to keep them in touch with their roots and the treatment I got was not so nice next time I'll just have my husband go into the stores for me
