Cross-posted on yelp: Five stars. A little pricey for the coffee, but flavor is great and shopping local is always worth it. Didn't make me feel pressured even though they were closing within an hour of my visit. Service was excellent, with special shout out to Katey (who deserves a raise). Ambiance was excellent - I'd definitely come back to work with my laptop!

Zoot Coffee in Camden, Maine is a charming little gem that perfectly blends cozy small-town warmth with subtle touches of global culture. The interior is thoughtfully designed inviting and relaxed, with eclectic details that hint at a love for travel and distant places. It’s the kind of spot where you can easily settle in for a quiet moment with a book or get some focused work done. The ambiance is calm and welcoming, and the staff add to the laid-back, friendly vibe. Their gluten-free sweet treats are a nice inclusion, though the ones I tried were a bit on the dry side perhaps just past peak freshness. I had high hopes for the blackberry muffin, and while it lacked the moistness I was hoping for, it certainly didn’t take away from the overall experience. Zoot is a lovely stop for anyone seeking a peaceful space with character, good coffee, and thoughtful details that make you feel like you’ve wandered into a well-traveled friend’s favorite hangout.

I thoroughly enjoyed a maple latte here! Prices are reasonable and the baristas were sweet and efficient. The flavors were well balanced, although the milk was not steamed quite right. Their other syrups were Monin, which usually taste great! They also had some healthier baked goods available if you need a bite to eat.

We ordered a variety of drinks and they were all great. My Americano was excellent. I also ordered an oat bar and was delighted at how yummy it was. The girls working their super nice. I wish I could have stayed longer.

This is a cozy coffee place in town, you can easily park on the streets nearby and when we went there it was not so busy. All food options are either vegan or vegetarian so have that in mind before deciding going there. Coffee is great!

Google
Enjoy supporting local roasted coffee. Took a trip to ME and found this coffee shop downtown. Staff was friendly and informative. The beans are roasted at their location. The beans were freshly roasted and had a nice balance. They also offer on-line purchases in case you can not visit as often. Enjoy trying new coffee and supporting local businesses. Look forward to buying more beans.

If I wouldn’t have been in such a hurry, hungry and needing a coffee fix I would have gone back in for a refund. Wish I would’ve not stopped The cookie and little cake were tasty enough, but the baked goods out on the counter all had flies landing on them. Against my better judgment I ordered anyway. The black eyed chai was disappointing at best. Watery and not flavorful. I try to patronize the local establishments when I travel but I definitely will never spend my money here again.

Yelp
This little café was so cute. I liked their coffee and they had Moomin as well as a decor. This place is a little bit slow so it is a good place. If you wanna come here catch up a quick bite or a quick coffee or tea with your friends. I would say this place was pretty busy. I think we were there for a good 30 minutes or so waiting for customer service. There is parking nearby as well. There's one restroom.

Yelp
Zoot Coffee was just okay for my husband and I. We stopped in to see the town on the way to Acadia National Parm, and we thought the beans were great. Zoot did not have any housemade syrups, so I settled for maple syrup, because we don't like to drink coffee with bottled syrups. They also put my iced coffee in a hot cup which was not a pleasant experience. If you need caffeine, it's a fine stop, but I wouldn't celebrate anything about this place.

Yelp
Ambiance: Beautiful bright coffee shop. Service: They were busy on a weekend morning, but the line moved quickly and I was able to get my drink in about 5-8 minutes after ordering. Drinks: The iced matcha latte was delicious, and whisked fresh! CONS: I appreciate that Zoot coffee uses eco friendly cups and straws! However, not even after 6 minutes, my iced latte dissolved the cup that we were using. It was near collapse at that point! It was the same situation with my husband's iced tea lemonade! I wanted to walk around town sipping on my latte, but atlas, had to chug it!

Yelp
A cozy cafe in the heart of downtown Camden, Zoot is a good spot to get good coffee and tea. Staff is friendly and welcoming. While it can get pretty crowded, they have a lot of comfortable seating options. My partner got a latte, which he said was great (and he's a bit of a latte snob). The main complaint is that they end food service early on, so don't count on their menu after 2pm or so.

Yelp
Unremarkable and overpriced. Staff were kind and establishment was very clean though.

Yelp
My lovely bride and I visited Camden during the last week of August 2025, and we stopped into Zoot every morning for black coffee and cappuccino, which are excellent. They offer a nice selection of gluten-free pastries. There is usually a line but it moves quickly. The ambiance is warm and friendly. Highly recommended!

Roxy P.

Yelp
A star each for the only two staff working their a$@!' off, but completely overwhelmed by long lines. Neither worker could adequately welcome the customer, take their order, make the drink,AND keep up with clean up/restocking pastries. Drink was supposed to be a 10oz steamed almond milk, but only 8oz was given and overpriced for quality of milk they use. Been a customer over the past 5 years, but really put off by the quality and service. No longer recommend. I wish the owner cared more, but their lack of attention to their workers and service, expecting more money because of tourists, make me think they don't. Don't come.

Yelp
Gluten free baked goods!! Muffin was so moist and delicious. Americano was also great.

Yelp
Yummy chai and baked goodies ...usually a line but they are worth the wait!! I had the quiche and it was delicious.

Yelp
We stopped at Zoot Coffee for breakfast while in the area to see the Wyeth/Hopper exhibit at the Farnsworth. We were happily surprised to find a vegetarian/vegan coffee shop open on a Sunday. It's a clean, well-lit space and features attractive art made by a local artist for sale. We must have gotten there at just the right time (10:45ish) because there were only two people in line when we arrived and the line grew until it was out the door while we waited for our food. The service was so-so. The barista did answer a question or two about menu items and then interrupted the order to instruct an employee on how to properly put oat bars on the serving plate so not to ruin "the structural integrity of the bars". The food was also so-so. I prefer ingredients throughout the quiche. This quiche was at least 7/8 egg (or maybe egg whites or egg replacer) with a thin layer of broccoli and leeks just at the top. The crust was attractive and clearly homemade but also lacked flavor. It felt like maybe they were trying to make it healthy, to the detriment of flavor. The café au lait was very good, as was the ginger oat bar. The last thing is sort of an observation--the there was kind of a negative energy in the place. In addition to our less than positive interaction while ordering, we looked on while several parties were reprimanded: One for holding the door open while waiting in line "Close the door, the air conditioning is on!" The other brought a dog in the shop that barked. The person was told to take the dog out and argued that it was "fine" because the dog it barked at had passed. There's also a sign in the back of the shop that reads, "For Zoot's sake, don't put your feet on the wall." Granted, the last three cases are clearly in response to bad patron behavior. Three stars because it's a vegetarian/ vegan friendly shop, open on Sundays, and I might try it again in the winter, after tourist season to see if there's a better vibe.

Yelp
First time here, really good coffee but, when I remarked to the barista that the coffee coming out of the pump looked 'weak' (I didn't mean it as an insult, I just know i like it really dark brown and would happily change to a cappuccino) she said, 'well, everyone really likes it but if you don't I'll be happy to charge you for a shot.' 'Charge me for a shot.' Well obviously, but saying it was bad form. Points off for unnecessarily chastising a customer. '

Sabrina W.

Yelp
The staff at Zoot coffee is amazing! Incredibly helpful, kind and accommodating! I highly recommend Zoot Coffee!

Grace K.

Yelp
Tried this place again - still sucked. Worst coffee ever. We need a new coffee place in town
google avatar

Yelp
Wish I read the review about the ice latte before I ordered. Basically paid six dollars for a small cup of milk.

Yelp
Cool environment. Coffee strength changes with different staff. Avocado toast devoured. Quick service.

Yelp
This little place was adorable. Had the best scone and Cortado here. And someone here has a real sense of humor with the little signs on the delectables. Great little place.
google avatar

Doris D.

Yelp
Fresh avocado toast was yummy. Long line but they were able to get through it quickly with a smile. Hubby had the black chai which was pretty good as well as my regular chai. Would come back again when I'm back in town

Yelp
Very solid little coffee spot in downtown Camden. They do have a small selection of sweets though not overwhelming. Plenty of space to sit and enjoy your coffee whether you are studying or watching the world pass in this cute little Maine coastal town. Give it a try!
google avatar

Courtnie C.

Yelp
Didn't enjoy the avocado toast, avocado was too ripe and they added a mayo or something on top which wasn't listed on the menu. The Italian icee was nice to cool off.
google avatar

Yelp
Zoot coffee was highly recommended so I gave it a try. Great coffee shop in downtown Camden. Was delighted to discover their vegan and gluten-free muffin and banana bread. Both are made with natural sweetener, so it's not too sweet but delicious with a healthy twist.
google avatar

Marie R.

Yelp
This is a cute coffee shop in Camden! My bf and I shared an oat latte with their housemade syrup! The coffee was strong enough and you get a hint of the maple so it wasn't too sweet. They had some cute tables as well. They serve some sweet and savory pastries, too!
google avatar

Emma J.

Yelp
Very cute place with kind staff! Coffee was so yummy! There is good amount of seating.

Yelp
Zoot Coffee is my new favorite spot, thanks to their divine baked goods, refreshing cucumber lemonade, and superb coffee and espresso drinks. Their banana smoothie is happiness in a cup! The friendly baristas make every visit delightful with their genuine smiles and top-notch recommendations. Finally, I love the decor which is inviting and features local art, books, and pottery.

Yelp
During my walk last night, I passed Zoot! From the window, it looked like this was a hot spot for the locals to hang with friends over a great cup of coffee and healthy treats. Now, another victim of the pandemic. Tables and chairs stacked to the side, arrows taped on the floor, and social distancing enforced. But the doors are open, and you can still grab a great cup of coffee and a healthy snack. Hot or iced, they have your favorite cup of choice. The snacks, today were vegan based and gluten-free. The oat ginger bar was fantastic. I ate it before taking a picture. So, trust me, a perfect match for my cafe mocha. Parking available in the street and an easy walk from the center of town. Check them out.

Yelp
Coffee good; food not so much. Ordered gluten free rum cake. Could not taste rum or apples. Tasted more like plastic and cake was dry and heavy. Had to throw it away. $4 wasted. It is a nice shop though.

Yelp
A solid cup of coffee and what I believe is the only coffee shop in Camden. Line was literally almost out the door. A very solid cup of coffee in a small town!

Wesley W.

Yelp
I'm not sure why this place gets good reviews. We got a cup of dark roast and a cappuccino. Both were terrible. Very watery. I'm not a complainer but my girlfriend told them about hers. They didn't offer a refund only another cup of coffee. No thanks!!

Guenter S.

Yelp
Very good, strong coffee, very friendly staff. We love the many vegan pastries and other vegan food options

Robert E.

Yelp
My initial impression of this place was nice, and I really wanted to like it. I was very friendly to the young barista, and she was stiff and unsmiling in response. My espresso was bitter and lacked a good crema. I kept trying to be nice...I wanted to be helpful by bussing my own table, but there wasn't any place to put my cup. Since the barista was standing right there behind the counter and wasn't particularly busy, I asked if I could give my cup to her. She looked annoyed, paused, then took my cup and said sternly, "In the future, or if I'm not here, you can put it in there" - and pointed to a bin that was behind the counter, in what appeared to be an employee-only area. There was no thank you offered, either for being a customer or for trying to be considerate. The whole experience was disappointing and a bit bizarre. Neither the owners or employees seem to be thinking about their customers at all.

Melinda S.

Yelp
I had an iced americana coffee with a shot of coconut. YUMMY!! It was a perfect cup of coffee to enjoy on a warm afternoon!
google avatar

Melissa J.

Yelp
We got two gluten free items and two coffees. The coffee was decent but the food was not. But all that aside the service was terrible. The staff was unkind. It is the low rating trifecta, have food, bad service, and over priced.
google avatar

Mandie B.

Yelp
Great coffee! This place is easily accessible and smack dab right in the middle of all the Camden, ME hubbub! You might have to wait a bit for a coffee, but it's well worth it. I got a maple, oat milk latte and was not at all disappointed with it. Smooth and delicious! It was the perfect pairing with my bench sitting and people watching in downtown Camden :)
google avatar

John K.

Yelp
Great mocha and hot chocolate for the kids. Rhubarb muffins were awesome. Definitely will come back!
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious coffee great ambiance. Would return again in a heartbeat. Nice service at counter too!

Yelp
Zoot Coffee deserves 5 stars, and I'm surprised that this gem of a coffee shop doesn't have a higher average rating. Since I'm very particular about my coffee, I initially hesitated to try this café based on the 4-star Yelp rating it currently has. In dire need of caffeine during a long drive through New England, I decided to give it a try anyway, and am sure glad I did. My favorite part about Zoot Coffee is that this shop is very friendly to dietary restrictions. It was exciting to see that most of the baked goods were either dairy free, vegan, or gf. ALSO - Zoot Coffee does NOT charge extra for alternative milk substitutions. As someone who prefers to avoid dairy, I am thrilled when shops do this. I ordered an oat milk latte, which was smooth and delicious (although a bit heavy-handed on the milk) and a scrumptious vegan cookie bite. The interior of Zoot Coffee is quite spacious and offers plenty of tables for patrons to get work done, chat with friends, and enjoy their treats. The decor was modern and fun. I liked the open kitchen concept behind the coffee bar, which allowed us to peak at food being prepared. Perhaps the only downside is that due to its popularity, the line to place an order can be long. I intend to return to Zoot Coffee whenever driving through Camden. 5 stars - well deserved!

Yelp
Their espresso is SMOOTH. So yummy. I also got one of their vegan pastries but tbh it was kinda forgettable. Super reasonably priced. Nice ambiance inside but it gets super crowded super quickly. Service was still quick and would definitely come back. Super nice staff!

Yelp
They serve a nice cup of coffee Nice open space with a good and varied selection of coffees Enough said Not a lot of coffee places in Camden so just go

Yelp
Delicious local coffee spot in middle of beautiful Camden. Had an iced latte and an iced coffee- both were too-notch

Nan M.

Yelp
absolutely wonderful baked goods, espresso great, too! very welcoming, friendly place. try the apricot tiny cakes and muffins... yum!

Yelp
yummy pastries, great coffee, amazing service, and a little bit on the pricier end! very calming ambiance
google avatar

Ji Hea K.

Yelp
Reduced hours due to staffing shortage, so might be closed before the Google/Yelp times. Likely to be fine if you head there before 3pm. Great cafe to chat with friends or catch up some quick laptop work. There is a phone booth by the bathroom, if needed. Coffee is excellent and baked goods have a lot of veg options. Hot menu is limited: I found they've temporarily stopped manning the grill so no grilled cheese sandwiches. Check out the shelf basket in the corner for some masks sewn by the employees. Picked up a couple with my coffee - they have fun reversible fabric choices!
google avatar

Amanda P.

Yelp
Glad to see this coffee shop made it through Covid! Also great to see an expanded new space that is great. Modern and cozy decor and a great coffee shop. Staff is super friendly. The owner and staff definitely know the locals and treat them well. I'm an out of towner visiting family in the area, and they are great with tourists too! Had some great iced tea. It was weird having iced tea in a hot paper cup though as it led to my cup becoming very soft and unhappy, but otherwise a great experience. Looking forward to stopping by again.

Yelp
Everything about Zoot is fantastic. EVERYTHING The coffee. The people. The friendly attitude of the place. Best coffee I know of in the US!!!

Yelp
We appreciated this coffee shop in Camden as we were driving through. The coffee was strong and delicious. Friendly service with a calm atmosphere. A lot of seating. Clean bathrooms.
google avatar

Suzy K.

Yelp
Super cute clean large coffee shop. Drinks were delicious and the baked goods are baked in store (they don't outsource). Plenty of space to sit down and enjoy your drink/baked goods and check email. Staff is friendly and super hard working and quick.
google avatar

Julie N.

Yelp
Not a huge staff but with a line out the door could handle it. Was very impressed. Overall a cute and great place

Omi O.

Yelp
Very mediocre. Coffee was weak, hot chocolate and iced chai were very watery and lacked flavor. It's a bit of a shame, especially since it's so popular.

Sandra T.

Yelp
Coffee is fantastic, service is quick - but the weekend staff is snarky and grumpy unlike the cheerful competent daily staff!
