If anyone has a kid interested in fossils and rocks, do yourself a favor and check this place out. My four year old daughter has been in here a couple times now and the staff is always so helpful and informative to her, explaining things at her level, and encouraging her interest. They overheard us talking about tumbling and even gave her a few things to polish for free. Huge high quality selection at any budget. She is super stoked about her ammonite and has been talking all day about it.

The staff is really kind and informative. The store features a wide range of things. Inquire about their field trip tours. It won't disappoint!

I have never been to a crystal shop before, so I was unsure of what to expect. However the shop was absolutely charming and had a ton of choices! Well I am not a serious crystal shopper I was able to tell them my goals and the staff was able to help. They were extremely kind and friendly and were interested in the fact that I was decorating a lizard tank! They spent some time helping me look for something in particular, and chatted with me and my friend. They also had an adorable little dog in the shop!

Kent was very knowledgeable and a great help finding stones for gifts. Very affordable and a wide selection. Definitely worth checking out if looking for stones, crystals, fossils or other cool merchandise!

An absolute wide variety of crystals, fossils and jewelry! I LOVE coming here with my family; I'm a Pagan needing stones and such for my practice, while my dad and step mother are rock collectors. Staff is very knowledgeable of their inventory and quite amiable to their customers. My first time here, I bought my first pendulum. During my second visit, my friend purchased a mortar and pestle for me 💚💛❤️ Was here recently for my fourth visit and brought in friends that didn't know the place was so close to the usual haunts. Everyone left with something they liked; a new pendulum for myself amongst those items.

ZRS Fossils & Gifts is my favorite crystal shop in the cities. Prices are affordable, good welcoming shop. We are repeat customers. I have been going to them for a few years now. Today I bought myself a beautiful Amber ring from this shop. My daughter wanted to go to the shop, and I went in, not looking for anything particular. I bought myself this stunning ring. They went above and beyond to help us.

Awesome shop with knowledgeable nice people selling a neat variety of fossils/gems/minerals and at any price range. They also have a lapidary studio and offer well prices classes and field trips

I love this store. It's a hidden treasure off Lake St, and sort of like a jewel box on your gramma's dresser, surprising you once you open it. The space is beautiful and you don't know where to look, there is so much to delight. I was particularly impressed by the owner, who didn't flinch when I asked him for a moderately priced dinosaur something for a young friend. He immediately knew what to show me...dinosaur poop, all shined up. Now, the young friend was delighted, of course, with the copralite, but even funnier was my accompanying story of the quest. Untold treasures, beautiful calm space, extremely knowledgeable owner = superb, one of a kind shop. Go!

I love the selection of crystals and other cool stuff at ZRS. I've been here many times and every experience has been a positive one until today. Usually, the person working is super helpful and excited to answer questions and educate about the crystals. Today, the person working seemed disinterested in engaging with my family and I even though we were the only ones in the store. I'm not sure if they're the owner or not, but they were wearing paleontologist clothing. The energy did not feel very welcoming but I figured it may have been because it was about half an hour until closing. We looked around a bit and I decided to buy a fairly expensive crystal. I only say that because it made what happened next all the more upsetting. As I'm checking out, my son is a few feet away from us looking at necklaces, and the person working proceeds to stare him down after wrapping my crystal. No words to me or my partner, just staring for an uncomfortably long time at our 8 year-old. At this point, it feels like he is watching to see if he is going to steal something and that the discomfort that my partner and I felt since we walked in was racial profiling (we're Black). I asked him why he was looking at him and he asked if he was going to get something. My partner says no and proceeds to take our son outside. I finished paying and left. Once I got outside I regretted that I finished my purchase and didn't say something more direct. I hate that this was our experience at a store that usually brings so much joy.

I was looking for a very specific crystal which they had! The woman who helped me knew exactly where it was sourced from too. It was gift wrapped for me and the whole experience was great. I would definitely recommend this shop.

If you're interested in crystals or looking to start a collection, this place is a must-see. I came in with no idea of what to get, and wanted to spend less than $15. Quickly found several $2 or $3 crystals of interest after looking them up in reference books they had lying around, which contained info about origins, metaphysical properties and practical uses. I left a happy customer, and spent $5 on these pretty babies. The gentleman who was working there was friendly but did not hover at all.

I needed a last minute gift for a conservationist friend and stopped in here-wow! There are so many beautiful items everywhere you look. I didn't have a ton of time, the store is very unassuming from the outside but quite large inside. I found the perfect item and was on my way, can't wait to go again.

Really cool store with super friendly and helpful staff! They have items at a wide range of prices, from a couple dollars to thousands of dollars, so you are bound to find something for you! Will definitely be back!

This is an absolute gem of a shop. (Pun intended.) They have all manner of fabulous fossils, gemstones, minerals, etc. from agates found along Lake Superior, to huge fossils from Africa. The retail shop is chock full of goodies of every price range. While I didn't have the budget for an adult mosasaur skull (several thousands), I did find some lovely fossilized cephalopods from the Devonian period (350 million years ago) for a few dollars each. They were nicely polished and will make great gifts. There is a nice looking workspace in the back where they teach lapidary. They also organize and lead trips locally and to places as distant as Morocco! What fun that'd be! I highly recommend checking this place out when you're in the area. There is literally something for every price range. Be sure to get on their mailing list for the occasional coupon, announcement, and updates.

This place is just frickin' cool. They've got huuuuge fossils, including a behemoth cave bear (a la Clan of) and a gorgeous osteichthyes of some kind that is just amazing. They also have a nice selection of semi-precious jewelry, with lots of pretty amber and lapis, quartz, amethyst, all the necessary ones and a few really nice ammonites as well. The staff is super friendly and mellow, more than willing to show you things and let you hold some of the larger, more energetic pieces. Very knowledgeable too and my shopping companion brought in some quartz that he had in his car and they were happy to help identify it. Very cute shop and highly recommended for geonerds.

After going to the Enchanted Rock Garden a few weeks ago I discovered a whole new world of rocks. This was the next stop in my exploration into rock collecting. The staff was super nice, knowledgeable, and helpful (which always catches me off guard in stores with expensive merchandise on the shelves). She didn't rush us or lurk around to make sure we weren't stealing (which is usually passed off as asking if "you need any help" multiple times). The variety is exciting and different than other places I have been to (with a reasonable emphasis on fossils). The store is open and brightly lit, with most of the merchandise in glass cases which gives the front of the store a museum-like feel. They have things available for all price ranges and interests. Parking along Lyndale is all metered, but you can park for free on Sundays, so that's great!

I have been here a few times and the presentation of the minerals inside the store are beautiful. The store is very clean and well put together compared to others I've been to. There is something for everyone even if you are not a collector because something will catch your eye. My personal favorites to shop for here are agates. It is an interesting store everyone should visit at least once.

This is a very interesting store with a variety of cool fossils and jewelry. The proprietor was very knowledgeable and helpful in explaining things to us. Even if you aren't interested in fossils it is worth coming in to look around. There are some neat little gift ideas under $20 as well. Have a look!

I have only been to their booth at the State Fair. I keep meaning to get into their store. They also have some nice amber pieces but less unique than those at Baltic. I still find them really helpful and nice. I always make a point to take my Blue Ribbon coupon into the Grandstand and buy something. I bought a few items this year. A really large stone in a ring that was reasonably priced. The older gentlemen (maybe an owner?) is so excited to tell you all about the different fossils and things they have.

You will feel welcomed by the staff at ZRS, who are eager to share their extensive knowledge and help you.. if you want it; they don't hover, as many similar businesses filled with precious merchandise often do. Hands-down one of the best collections of crystals and fossils that I have come across (here or anywhere else). They also have a BEAUTIFUL array of handcrafted-jewelry in all different price ranges, as well as some truly impressive hunks of minerals. One warning is for those who think you'll just 'check it out quick'... You won't be able to leave in a hurry!

This place is amazing. All price pints, a lot of variety. The staff is always super helpful and passionate about rocks.

Took the Lapidary Class and WOW was I surprised! John and Steve are excellent teachers giving plenty of attention to each students needs over the course of 3 hours. I had bought jewelry from the State fair from them in 2013 and decided to visit their store. It is AMAZING! All you rockhounds out there need to give this place a chance and see for yourself the vast amount of things there are to look at. I could be there for hours and hours! Thanks for being so wonderful!! A+ in my book! I will most certainly be a repeat customer!!

I wandered into ZRS Fossils and Gifts one day and knew instantly I had to come back when I had more time. First of all, the place is very impressive. There is a Giant Cave Bear near the entrance and lots of large fossils on the wall. There's a row of glass cases with thousands of stones and fossils. I came back later in the year with a goal in mind: a Christmas present for my boyfriend. The gentleman working there was more than happy to show me pieces in my price range (~$100). I settled on a fossil of a Brittlestar that was 1/2 billion years old. This is also a great place to bring kids because they have a table of inexpensive trinkets and you can even pick out your own little collection of stones. I'd say this place is one of the hidden gems of Uptown!

My son and I went to ZRS Fossils and Gifts for the first time today and we absolutely loved our experience. The shop is thoughtfully laid out and organized. There were many items to spend time looking at like fossils, crystals, gems and to my surprise- beautiful jewelry. There were items to dream about, like $2500 crystals and other impressive/rare fossils. But there were also smaller- but still lovely treasures, that we could bring home with us. Our journey to the store was made complete with the sweetest couple who own the shop- and who also work there. The husband is a Paleontologist, and asked my son if he wanted to hold a T-Rex tooth- it was a big hit to say the least. They also offer classes and field trips we are pretty pumped to learn more about. We will definitely be back.

I love this shop! Positive vibes and a good staff. They have a huge selection of crystals, fossils and stones. I go for tumbled crystals and stones. Everything is a reasonable price. They have a treasure chest full of tumbled stones, you get 10 stones for $4! Great deal. Perfect place for anyone collecting crystals, stones and/or fossils.

My dad and I stumbled on this place after dinner one night and I will be going back! Rocks, fossils, jewelry, and other fun stuff fill this large store. The man working was approachable, answered all our questions, and seemed knowledgeable. You can buy huge chunks of moonstone or petrified wood by the pound. YEAH! If you are into rocks, this seems like a cool place to visit.

ZRS Fossils & Gifts is one of my favorite places to shop or just browse to see what new treats they have in. This is basically like a museum but you get to touch nearly everything on display!!! I always find incredible gifts here at very reasonable prices and the gifts will wow the receivers whether they are a nature nerd, naturalist or just your average Joe (or Jill!). The staff are all very inviting and eager to help you find what you're looking for as well as share their vast knowledge about fossils, gems and other goodies they offer. Definitely make it a point to check this place out. They even offer regular travel adventures both locally and abroad!

Love this place! Lots of goodies to look at. I scored a huge piece of Amazonite in their 40% off section that I'm in love with. Got a bunch of goodies for a reasonable price. The clerks were very chill and friendly!
