Delicious Mediterranean and Mexican food. Really enjoyed my chicken nachos, and kabobs plates. Chicken breast, Lule ground beef and steak were great seasoned good n not dry. But the supreme favorite for us is the rice that is served with the kabobs plates, phenomenally buttered and delicious!!! I'll definitely be back here again to try it more stuff. Kids stuff like pizza n tenders also available besides burger option. Pleasant staff service when ordering and pick up.

Kabobs and chicken teriyaki mediocre , small portions for a big price. The burgers are the only that that are tolerable. If you want kabobs, seek somewhere else.

At first, I didn't go here because of the name and distance from me, but I finally committed and I was surprised how GREAT their food was!!! This place is a hidden gem; I'm surprised there aren't more reviews. This restaurant has a surprisingly diverse menu: Latino, American, and Mediterranean. Take advantage of the BOGO free deal happening for their burgers and crispy chickens at the time of writing. Delicious food!!!! Nice staff (minus the short gordita Latina girl asking inappropriate questions, who's always on her phone). Average prices. Decor is nice and has a retro feel. Nice location. Clean place. Panoramic view of the intersection. Lots of tables. High tables available. Good seating comfort. Outdoor seating available. This place is almost like a casual restaurant. Not too busy, easy to find a seat. Easy to find parking. They have the good soda fountain :) Food: The burgers are big, delicious, and juicy, but I wish the lettuce was less drippy with sauce. The burger could use some pepper. The crispy chicken sandwiches are perfectly crisp and cooked just right to be juicy; they're seriously good and you should try them; BOGO free at the time of writing. The Mediterranean food is DELICIOUS!!! Kabob plates are amazing!!! Lightly sour dill salad perfectly balances the savory kabob meal. The garlic spread is so good! The burritos are skinny and disappointed me. The burger melt sandwich is delicious!!! The grilled butter toast is amazing!!! Crispy with a rich buttery flavor compliments the juicy burger!!! I thought the chilaquilles would come with a box full of it; I'd say I didn't get a good value out of it but you may prefer the 2 side items instead of more chilaquilles. The tenders + fries were tasty, they didn't line the container with foil and the foam was partially melted from the hot fries. Cons: Some of the food items, I feel, aren't worth the price for what you get. The burritos tend to be underwhelming. A major con is that I have to constantly be on the lookout for physical contaminants in my food. In the recent months I've been eating here, I spotted 2 physical contaminants in my food: one was what looked like fake fur, the other was some kind of really brittle metallic curl. I can imagine the fake fur was from morning shift prepping food and wearing some kind of jacket. I don't own an animal with this fur color. I have no clue where or what the shiny metallic curl is from. When I poked it, it disintegrated, maybe it's from the stove but I don't know why it's so brittle. I can't imagine someone wearing a shiny silver dress to work in a kitchen lol. I thought maybe a metallic sponge but the curly was too fine and brittle. Overall: This place has great food. I will be coming back but I will continue to inspect what I eat. I could easily give this place a 5 star if I didn't feel the need to compulsively inspect my food :P I'd definitely recommend this business. Good job :) but please handle and prep the food better. Wear appropriate clothes and accessories for a restaurant.

To start of me, my 2 sisters and parents came here as a quick eat after her game. We got 5 meals and the total was $83.89. My sister(10) got #17 which was a Denver omelette with potatoes and sourdough bread. She loved the food and ate more than she usually does. The omelette was very cheesy and already loved sourdough bread. My dad up next! He got #131 which was a Vegan Pita wrap with a combo house salad. He gave it a 3.5 out of 5 (literally what) because they had no appetizers ☹️ I don’t agree with him put he actually loved his food( this man was tearing it up saying we wish we had his food) anyways he didn’t like that he had to remind the employees to get his tea for him and that they gave him a plastic straw to stir his hot tea. But overall he loved the vibes and food(which is surprising because he’s very critical) After that my step mom got #215 which was a grilled salmon with cilantro habanero. She gave the place a 5 out of 5 🤩. She said the environment was welcoming and it’s very clean, the staff is nice and helpful, and the food perfect, exactly what she wanted.(she also tore up that food). My other sister gave this place a 4 of 5, she said the food is good tho. Last person is me and I’m disappointed that I didn’t get something else because I only got French toast, fruit and eggs. But it was delicious, lil plain but really good. Anyways this place was great and I hope you try it out!

Picked up 2 chicken sandwiches 2 burgers with fries and onion rings. The chicken were patties instead of the original chicken and it was under cooked. My fries was handful for 6.00 and they tasted like dirty oil. I only got 4 onion rings for 6.00 maybe more in cost tasted the same dirty oil. I loved this place before, never going back again. It was gross and made my stomach turn because of the taste.

Clean and presentable establishment. Very diversified menu. Staff was helpful and friendly. I got the BOGO chubby burgers. The patty was thick and flavorful. The buns were soft without being soggy or mushy. The lettuce was not a vibrant green and the tomatoes were dull in color. Maybe I'm being a little critical, but just being honest. And in no way did it take away from the flavor. I will be back to try other things from their menu. Again very diversified and I'm curious to sample more...

It was a fun experience to have lunch at this place. This place is proud to be in the Montebello community. The setup is fun and modern. The menue has a lot to choose from. The staff was friendly and our food came out pretty fast. The place is well lit and clean. The only down side was that the food didn't taste that fresh. The avocado on my plate was a bit old. It had a dark brown color to it. The chicken sandwich we ordered didn't taste fresh either. It was a bit dried and chewy. The flautas we ordered were definitely not the traditional flautas (they tasted more like chimichangas). I like the place and the staff, but I probably won't be going back there for the food.

First off Ordered my food online through Yelp. When we got there, there weren't many people, maybe three table were occupied and went for our food. There was no line, we got our food and they charge $3 for avocado in the salad but forgot to put in the salad they did say they were gonna refund me but haven't yet also the sauce in the picture is cilantro sauce it smell as bad as it looks. I ordered the chicken sandwich it was alright, chicken was a bit burnt and side of fries not worth the extra price.

We have been to Z's a few times now when we are in town and it is great. They have everything. We love their comfort food and their Mexican food. Their breakfast items are wonderful. The place is so cute and very old school looking. It is super clean and ever so comfortable. The service is great. They get to you right away and the food comes out as ordered and hot. It is all great. The staff is so friendly. We love their French toast with banana on top with the best syrup. It is great. They have everything you might want for breakfast. We also love their burger with fresh sliced avocado on top. You don't need a bum. It is is great and you can pretend it is healthy. Their Mexican food is also wonderful. We love street tacos and their burritos are the best. You will love this place. It is priced nicely as well.

Came here because it had great reviews, it did not disappoint. They have an amazing food selection and from the friends that I was with, nobody complained about their food. Just know, or should I say, just be willing to pay some higher prices for The food. I happen to order their bacon cheeseburger, and it was great. The bacon was nice and crispy. The patty was a decent size and the taste was on point. The only grip with my experience there, was the hefty price tag of $13 for a bacon cheeseburger. Now I know with inflation going up and everything prices are going up on food but $13 for a hamburger seems a bit much for me. With that being said, the burger was great as I mentioned. I personally wouldn't be back here again, not because the food isn't great just because I can get a whole entire meal for cheaper at different burger places.

Mr. Z!!!! Where did you go!?!?! We use to see you at Monterey Pass location. Now we found you again in Montebello but you left again! We miss ya! All kidding aside, the food was great. Kids got chicken tenders and fries and chubby burger with fries and drink. Monthly specials were great! I got the chicken lule kabob plate. Came with 2 kabobs and by the time I realized to take a pic I ate one already. Huge portions and will return again.

Food is spectacular I tend to order Raffi's Super Kabob , a truly uplifting dining experience. The service is exceptionally inspiring, very friendly and enlightening. The ambiance is spaciously warm and welcoming, a perfect haven. I absolutely love the imaging.

Came in on a Sunday for brunch. Pretty busy but we got our food quickly. Fairly priced menu with tons of options. Clean restaurant with patio seating. Love their coffee/tea bar. You would expect this restaurant to be a sit down place but one must order/pay at counter. Also we couldn't find napkins and had to continuously ask staff for them. The staff was friendly though. My child enjoyed her turkey sandwich. My wife loved her sunrise combo and I devoured my brunch combo. Everything was well seasoned and cooked to perfection. We will definitely be coming back even if we have to bring our own napkins.

Unfortunately, I went to Z's today for lunch and the ground beef lule kabob - it was so bad both my daughter and I spit the very first bite! The meat felt like fat and no beef, it was like the worst part of a chicken but it was beef! Apparently, there are new owners and I hope this criticism helps them bring back quality meat and not skimp... on the positive, it was very clean and the cashier was very friendly :)

I love their Sizzling Kabobz! Sometimes they serve it with an authentic pita bread which I love. But sometimes it's served with those store bought pita breads that are more pillowy and bread like, I don't prefer. #207 Raffi's Super Kabob Combo- perfect for indecisive people! You get both beef and chicken. Chicken breast was not dry at all and was tender and juicy. Beef was just the same. Both were flavorful. Rice is always seasoned well. #201 Ground Beef Lule Kabob- seasoned well and tender. I did not like their Chilaquiles breakfast plate. Didn't seem coherent. Tortilla chips were just topped with sauce and drizzled with sour cream, added chopped onions and cilantro. Seemed dry even with sauce topped all over. Egg on top was over done when I asked for over easy. Stick to their non breakfast items. You can order them all day long even during breakfast hours.

Had the chubby cheese burger. It was good. Nothing special. Good fries and ranch was good too. Overall no complaints. Very clean establishment and really good service too. I'd come again and try something else.

OMG yes to the chubby burger! The patty fit the bun perfectly! I want to try other menu items so we will definitely be coming back! Maybe I'll make it a routine Sunday afternoon thing for my mom and I.

Tried this place for the very first time today. Had the Beverly sandwich very delicious. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. Great environment, warm and welcoming. Would definitely come here again.

I live in Montebello and always pass this place. I decided to give it a try. The menu looked great so for starters I tried Raffi's super kabob combo. It was excellent. Both the chicken & beef very tender and flavorful. The rice was delish and cilantro humus tasty. Per usual though, when I went in the menu prices were $2 more than the menu pictures I was viewing in yelp. It happens 9 times out of 10 so I've posted current menu prices. It was basically $20 for the plate now. From what I see elsewhere that's the going rate for a kabob plate nowadays. I'd go back and try other items on the menu.

They are under new, not great Managment who took the chicken fried steak and a bunch of other things off the menu so we won't be going anymore. Not worth the Stubborn Soda on tap, the ambiance has changed because of the new Managment and the service reflects this.

The place and the service are great. Wife had kebob plate that was so good, she didn't want to share. I ordered the gyro. but was not impressed. The meat slices were thin and dry. It didn't taste like it was made in-house, more like out of an industrial kitchen box. All of the other items we tried tasted like they are made fresh and on-site. Will give another try with different kabobs!

I had ordered the gyro and it was delicious. The meat was so tender. My girlfriend ordered the three chicken tacos with beans and rice. She said that chicken was so juicy like if it just came out of a pot of chicken soup. The service was awesome. I have dietary issues and they worked with me. I highly recommend them.

My and my roommate caregiver's first time eating here. I had their Chubby Burger combo, large fries, large drink. Great tasting! Great prices!

The food was so delicious! The restaurant has a good feeling to it, a sense of pride in the community along with great sayings, quotes, movies, sport teams, etc. Moreover, the staff is super welcoming and kind.

Long time favorite place to stop for a homemade burger, Mexican or Mediterranean food choices. Super fresh and quick. Something for everyone and a great breakfast menu. Indoor and outdoor seating and friendly service. A staple of Montebello area.

I had not been to Z's since their prior location in Monterey Park. Just as tasty as I recalled. Love that they have a little bit of everything which made it difficult to choose. I tend to opt for kebabs, but the sandwiches and breakfast items sounded great as well. Service was good and the price was good for the amount of food you get. Inside was spacious and it appears they keep everything clean. Also loved the vast hot sauce collection they had.

Was visiting my parents in Monterey Park so wanted to grab a quick lunch to go and found this spot. Parking was pretty easy and they had their own lot but the entrance and exits are a little confusing since they're one way. I ordered online since I knew I wanted a kebob plate but they have a lot of different options as well. The inside was nice clean and spacious, would be a good casual dine in spot. Chicken thigh kebob plate (4/5): came with hummus, salad, pita and rice which is a pretty good deal for $13.99. The hummus wasn't the best I've had but still better than store bought. Chicken was nice and tender and good portions. The pita bread was soooo good tho! Nice, chewy and soft more of a flatbread texture which I like a lot. There's also a lot of dessert options, I saw that they even sell cookies from Cookie Plug and the coffee cake looked delicious but I was being good. Will prob get it next time.

Been here several times and eaten at different parts of the menu to believe everything is great. I first came because they have this promotion during covid of buy 1 chubby burger get one free. It was cooked perfectly light pink in the middle and bun a little crisp. Hubby has eaten a schwarma thing (loved it). This promotion seems permanent? I went today after a long week to reward myself with a good burger. I recently discovered that their hamburger patty is made in-house so now it's confirmed that this is the best deal ever. 2 for 1 with tax is $11.01

The place is súper clean we have a burger and a chick plate middle eastern style . It great. The lady that help us was very nice too .

Came here for the first time and instantly knew I wouldn't come back . Asked the cashier what he would recommend, told me he didn't know and it's up to me . Just horrible service all around . Food was dry and nasty . Stay away from this place

French Kiss Toast for breakfast. Have to say it's pretty good for not being my favorite traditional French Toast. It went lovely with hot coffee. Order at the counter and the service was quick to bring your food. The coffee and drinks are self serve. I will try again for another meal. Till then give them a try!

This place is ok for food but has a strange definition of combo. They advertise for $4.99 you can make it a combo, " French fries or salad and a drink". We thought it meant you can either choose French fries or salad and you get a drink. They informed us it meant you get 1 of the 3 items for $4.99. That didn't make sense since a drink on the menu is less than $4.99. Nevertheless my friend ordered the combo fries for $4.99 and basically got a half order of fries. I ordered a regular fries for $4.99 and received twice as much. I a not sure if the cashiers knew what a combo meant but it didn't make any sense.

Learned it's under new management. Ambiance was off but food was still good. Will continue to return

A group of friends met at Z's for lunch. One of the gals had gone by the day before, so they had a table to sit 8 of us. The food is good. Several of us had salads, Cobb and the Asian. Both do fresh. The other ladies tried sandwiches and two ordered the salmon platter. Staff was very friendly.

Went in to order forty dollars worth of food. The TV had Trump giving his obnoxious speeches on FOX. Ask the person taking my order to please change the channel as we the only ones there. He said no, so I cancel and walk of this place which I will NEVER do business again.

I don't know what it is about their classic Chubby burger but it's just so dang good. With a side of fries, you can't go wrong. The chicken sandwich is also really tasty! Both the burger and chicken sandwich are BOGO free so you get a ton of food! We've had their chilaquiles, monte cristo sandwich, and baklava. All amazing! The menu is so diverse so whatever you're in the mood for, chances are they have it. Service is excellent too. It's a family run business so it's nice knowing you're support a small business.

I love the Super Raffis Kebab plate and the Beef and chicken gyros here. They do not have any lamb kebabs. I was a little disappointed in that, because I love the Lamb plates. But Zs has good Mexican and Mediterrinean food here. Our first time here for lunch. Nice area and staff Food was delicious.

What a great find. Their menu is huge and has so many options. They offer buy one get one free burger or chicken sandwich. We got the falafel and a burger. Both were super yummy and the staff here is great. We found this place by chance but will be back!

Been here a few times and the food was pretty good.. guess that is a thing of the past. Was in a few days ago with some work friends and man, what a disappointment. I mistakenly order the gyro plate.. I mean this is supposed to be a Mediterranean restaurant right? Well... I literally got six paper thin, dry and crispy slices of what I think was supposed to be gyro meat, but it looked more like thinly sliced canned meat... Y'all need to step it up a bit in your gyro department.

Chicken kabob is perfectly cooked.! The dish is enough for 2 persons and their hummus is so tasty!

What a great discovery. The food is fresh, tasty, there is a great variety of plates to choose from and it's super clean. The service was the best I will now make this my restaurant of choice when I'm in the area.

Great food! Great service! I have been wanting to try this place for a while and so I am happy to have finally stopped by. Gotta say I was mighty happy that they creative a sort of burrito gyro... I definitely prefer the burrito version. I got the chicken kabob burrito. It was neatly made and had fresh ingredients, but what topped it off was the fries! The perfect golden brown and super crispy! Would recommend coming here as their price point is very good! Also they have a special! Buy one chubby burger, get the other free!

Usually when restaurants serve several types of cuisines, the food is usually mediocre. Z's is the exception. I have been coming here for years, before they moved to this newer location, and their food is always good. My favorite is the beef kabob plate, much better than any Mediteranean restaurants in the area, hands down. I used to go to others, but they either changed the type of meat or ingredients to lower quality. Z's quality is always been the bestt, juicy and flavorful. Please never change . Also, their staff is consistently friendly; always smiling and doing extra.

Are here 3 times. The food and service were really good. But on my last visit, I saw two roaches walking across the floor in broad daylight. I think one of them yelled some derogatory at me too. I was really upset to see this because I really liked this place.

Saw items online and came in to find out they are only for Door dash orders. So, they can make asada fries or pastrami fried for online orders but not for walk in? Order taker was rude and spoke at such a soft yo e, I couldn't hear anything he mumbled...had to keep asking for him to repeat. Tables were dirty with food residue and paper debris. Floors were sticky. Outside trash bins overflowing and stunk. We were not given our cups for beverages, had to wait at the counter for someone to come out so we could ask for cups. Rude employees, need to clarify orders for Door Dash have a separate menu. Take down the electronic menu showing pictures of food that isn't available for walk in customers.

Nice environment clean inside and clean outside. Good food and reasonable pricing. Good customer service.

Since my last review the buss., has been sold, I tried to order my usual for my niece and they were confused on how to put a simple order in for nacho fries although it was on the menu but not on the register... I tried to walk the guy through it, and willing to wait while he contacted the new owner. But he seemed unwilling to take the extra step...

Z's is a great 'Great Restaurant' of Mediterranean, American and Mexican authentic owned dishes and and entrees cuisine. YES - cuisine!, It ain't no fast food! I'm glad they are in the Montbello, CA location and more customers should be there daily (for all those other West LA eateries or hob-nob place locations ---are just pelicans following pelicans or crowd followers) They have all the culinary art, dishes (eat in) and serving preparedness of the entre when served to you. I hope they stay here forever.

My wife and I remember Z's restaurant in Monterey Park when we use to live in Monterey Park. Their food were very good full of flavor including their kabobs they were so good. It been a long time we have Z's in Monterey Park but we didn't know things will happen. I notice when I was driving on Garfield Ave they were adding new restaurants on use to be a Thai restaurant later I found out it was a Z's restaurant. I decided to go to Z's to try it out. They people eating indoor and outdoor that nice. They paper menu I look at it see they have my favorite they the chicken kabobs and I order it to go. The kabobs were very good it have full of flavor including the humus and the rices that I enjoy.

Exemplary customer service. Have been here twice and have nothing but wonderful things to say. Service is fast and friendly; food is fresh and there are many different cuisines to choose from. Friendly comfortable atmosphere for friends and families to enjoy. Will be visiting again soon.

Called in an order for a lunch order. Really good flavors on the chicken and comes with a great variety of sides! I love the cilantro hummus that comes with it!

if you want a lunch with good people and a clean place to eat, i would definitely come here. The food isn't especially inspired, nor is the cooking anything beyond what you would expect from a kabob focused establishment. If you come here the food will be good, but it's not something you need to drive from hours away to see.
