The Best Sichuan restaurants in Seattle | Eater Seattle

"This Chinatown-International District shop seems to be straying from its initial identity by recently adding dry pots (with wheat noodles) and malatang to its menu, but the best reason to go is for the namesake rice noodle soup bowls. Each bowl has a medley of ingredients ranging from minerally lobes of pork liver to oceanic strands of seaweed. From the variety of broth options, recommended is the pickled pepper version for its spicy and vinegary notes, with thick noodles over thin to maintain chewiness while soaking in the soup." - Jay Friedman

Beef malatang was soooo flavorful and delicious! I spent $13 and was soooo full! Would highly recommend!

It's the No.1 rice noodles in Seattle area for me. And basically my go-to place in CID when I don't know what to eat. You have so many choices here from soup base to customized ingredients. For soup base, my personal favorite is the pickled pepper flavor for its perfect balance of spicy, salt and sour flavors. Hotpot and pickled pepper are authentic but a bit too spicy/greasy for me. They also have 3 choices for non-spicy soup and they are all good. I'm glad to see them working hard on improving the menu. Now besides rice noodle, they also have different style 麻辣烫malatang, and cold rice noodles for summer. All really good! I also like their small dishes and my friend likes the BBQ. I was pleasantly surprised how delicious and authentic their rice noodle is the first time I ate here. Now I've been here at least 20 times and brought at least 30 friends(sometimes groups) here. (Feel that I should get some discounts lol)

Food is real good and fresh. The should have more pictures of the dishes on the wall. For first “non Chinese speaking “ patrons, visual presentations are the must. Great food!

Food: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ Volume: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ Service: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ My order: pickled pepper and shrimp paste rice noodle + fried egg (plz add this!!!!) Loved every aspect of it! For your reference, I love spicy food. Every spicy food lover should try this. 湖南人表示真的好吃! The soup? Great! A well mixture of spicy and sour taste. The rice noodle? Loved it! It is very thin, 很入味! The fried egg add-on? Superb! It sucked in all the soup and every bite of it is filled with happiness. The volume is enough for one person to be 100% full.

We had a little trouble using the ipad to order and communicating that we were vegetarians, but the staff was friendly and helpful. The portion size is huge and worth the money! Great flavor and spice as well, I love sichuan places that really use the mala flavor.

Yelp
It's affordable and authentic. Serving sizes are good, two people could easily share a rice noodle and an app and be satisfied. I like the Signature Rice Noodles and the Sauerkraut Series. The pickled pepper or hot pot noodles are proper spicy, so I'd avoid if you don't love spice. The liver, kidney and intestines can be easy to overcook but they cook them perfectly here. Rice noodles are slippery with the right amount of bounce. Toppings are plentiful and add lots of flavor and textures to the noodle dish. The spicy shredded potatoes are crispy and spicy, just what you might want to wet your appetite for noodles. Crispy Pork is true to its name, crispy and goes well with the dry dipping rub included. It's not bad the next day but best day of. Beef roll pancake is just okay, nothing special about it. The grilled garlic oysters are also just okay, probably wouldn't order again

Yelp
First time having hot pot it was great! They had a good variety of ingredients. I chose, tripe, lamb, squid, fish cake, and lobster ball with a variety of mushrooms and vegetables. I chose the beef broth and it was delicious and creamy! If you dont like spicy get no spice vs mild. I paid less than $18 for a a lot of soup. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
This place was surprisingly quiet on a Saturday evening for dinner. We were seated quickly and ordered through a tablet which was really convenient. The skewers were quite good I really liked the beef. The picked pepper house special noodles had some spice in it and was flavorful. I recommend it if you can handle some spice but otherwise the house special original noodles are good too without any spice.

Yelp
Clean interior, minimal decor. Quick and prompt service, you order through a QR code on the table and pay at the front. Food came out in a warm pot, super steamy. I ordered thick rice noodles, they were super tasty with the spicy Szechuan broth. The medium spice was a a bit numbing but not overwhelmingly spicy for my taste. I enjoyed my meal, I wouldn't mind coming back to try more

Yelp
It was ok. Compared to the presentation of other soup places around the area, it's not as nice. The portion was good and would come back but wouldn't be my first choice if I have to pick a place. Variety - plenty of choice but I wish their sour soups has a more sour flavor

Yelp
The broth itself was pretty tasty, lots of noodles, good portion size! The interior looks fantastic, reminiscent of ancient Chinese furniture and also the 80s. Services was good too, he answered our questions and gave us extra napkins. I'll be back!!!!

Yelp
Take this review with a grain of salt, because I overestimated my ability to handle the spice of the hot pot noodles. It was painful. However, overall there weren't that many ingredients besides the rice noodles and the fish was chewy (qq). The rice noodles were also the kind that is hard to digest because they have so much structure that you need to chew.

Yelp
Great food. Great service. Lots of broth options with different ingredients to choose from. If you love noodle soup you should give it a try. Honorable shout out to the small crispy pork, it is the best I've ever had and I have tried a lot. Whenever there's small crispy pork on the menu I'd order it and this is by far the best!

Yelp
Went here for the first time this past Saturday. I ordered the House Special Noodle soup. The waiter warned me it was very spicy but said he could request it to make it less spicy for me. The first few bites were delicious and flavorful but then the spice hit me hard! I was coughing up a storm but also trying to finish the dish. I think the waiter heard my deathly coughs since he came over to ask if I wanted a non-spicy dish, free of charge. He gave me some options and I picked what I believe was called the herbal noodle soup which was delicious and more tolerable!! Overall great service and large potions of food. I will be back here again!

Yelp
Tasty rice noodles that remind me of my childhood. :) The portion was generous. The pickled pepper one was actually spicy (in a good way of course)!

Yelp
The food was really good I got the pepper meat hot pot bowl and a pork bun. It was a healthy portion and had great flavors. Our waiter was nice and attentive as well. The place , interior and feel wasn't all too notable but I would definitely go back.

Yelp
Was recommended by my partner. At first I thought it was just another noodle place, but it was something that tasted authentic to my partner and unique taste for me as well that I have not had in Seattle. I have had noodles and malatang at other restaurants but the taste is something I would recommend. I had the tomato which was good but the pickled pepper house special one was the one that made us go back again! The spicy one is pretty spicy if you can't handle heat in general. The staff were friendly when I came into pick up my order and was warm. Would definitely eat at the store to see if the taste changes for the better!

Yelp
Trying out this new restaurant for the time and I'm pretty impressed. Their tomato noodle soup was super good and so were the appetizers. I'll definitely come back to try the spicy noodle soup next time.

Yelp
On our walk today, Jon and I went to this new (to us!) place and were so impressed, we wanted to share it with you. They serve large individual pots of rice noodle soup... in the best broth I've ever tasted. I had a plain chicken broth in my Nourishing House Special, and Jon's had a bit more spice and included pickled cabbage. The plain dish I had (I was feeling like comfort more than fiery) was absolutely delicious, and Jon loved his. I will definitely come back before we leave the PNW, and before this place is full to the gills with healthy hipsters. It's going to be a hit.

Yelp
this place was nice really really good and big portions, everything was cheap as well.

Yelp
Great service great price and vibe. I got a couple pork belly burgers. Off the charts quality and value.
