Yelp
Ended up at Zucca last Wednesday night, as the BBQ restaurant down the street was closed. Since we were already in downtown Louisville, we decided to try out a local restaurant, and Zucca had promising reviews on Yelp, and we were hungry.
No reservation, no problem. We were sat in a quiet room, off of the main dining room. Hannah was our server. She was nice, yet she clearly forgot about us after she got our beverages. A very small basket of bread and olive oil were on the table, yet no parmesan cheese and no pepper were ever seen or offered.
We started with the fried calamari which was good, but nothing special. He ordered the Fettuccine Quattro Formaggio with chicken and I ordered Shrimp and Scallop Risotto, (since they were out of my first choice, Pork Osso Buco, at 6:30 pm).
Overall, we were both underwhelmed. This was the worst risotto I've ever had. It tasted minty, and nothing like basil. The 3 scallops in my dish were tiny, maybe nickel size. Definitely not worth $24.
I've got average skills in the kitchen, yet when I can make a better meal at home, it makes dining out a very disappointing experience. We won't be back.
