Definitely, this restaurant totally hits the spot for me. The soup noodles with the tripe & beef, awesome!!! The pan fried buns, pan fried pie, wood ear mushrooms, seaweed salad, pigs ears, tripe & wash those down with a bottle of cold jasmine tea..... My taste buds are having a 🥳🎉🎊💞

As someone from Beijing, it is always a challenge to find restaurants serving authentic northern style food. That is until I found this place in LA. The food is always home made and prepared perfectly. As a bonus, eating here won’t break your wallet.

Food was delicious. I was a bit worried about the buns with sea cucumber in them, but those tasted great too. I would say it's a bit spicier than expected, so go with no spice if you are a bit sensitive. The meat pies and noodles I also enjoyed very much. I would definitely order the spicy cold beef appetizer, it had this light sweet crust too that was different than I've had. Pro tip: they do have crunchy chili oil that you need to request. They also do breakfast now, so I'll definitely try that next

I really enjoy coming to family owned businesses like this one. There's more than just Panda so stop by this local spot! Original recipes and very good food. I ordered the beef pies (4), cool chicken noodles and the shewed beef noodle soup. I'll be coming back for sure.

Nice service but the taro sago is flavorless. The square bread we got was also undercooked and raw in the middle.

This has become one of our favorite places to go in the past few months. The staff are friendly and always pleasant (not always a given in a Chinese restaurant in this area!), but of course, it's the food that really keeps us coming back. We have not explored the menu in great depth because we love their bread food! The meat pies are great - we've eaten at Beijing a Pie House many, many times, but they were the only game in town back then. Well, now there's a new player that keeps us coming back over and over again. The beef pies are really good. Chinese restaurants don't always do beef very well, but these folks have got it down. Our next favorite are the pork and leek pies. Flavorful pork and lots of fresh leek. The other pies are very good too, but the best thing about this place are the unique leek pies! A plate full of these little leek-filled wonders are unlike anything anywhere else in the SGV. Thick and full of flavor, not like the usual thin and greasy leek pies you see everywhere else. We have not tried much else because we *have* to get the leek pies . . . and the meat pies are not far behind. By then, there's no room for anything else. Maybe someday in another review.

Saw recommendation from little red book yet the breakfast is pretty disappointing🥲Especially the egg pancake is quite oily and doesn't taste good, the soy milk is nice because it's not sweet at all

I came to feast, and I did just that. Husband and I ordered quite a few things to share and we left the restaurant feeling full and very satisfied. We started off with the beef roll which to my surprise was very fresh, crispy and light. We indulged ourselves with spicy wontons (wasn't as spicy as I'd like but still great in flavor nonetheless) and pan fried pork and chive dumplings. The dumplings had a great bottom sear and weren't too meaty, allowing for the perfect bite. To top it all off, we ordered a beef and tendon noodle soup, medium spice. This was the star of the show. Very well flavored, perfect amount of spice, vegetables (green onions, chives, bok choy) and a generous amount of noodles. The soup lacked a bit of protein but it didn't ruin the dish. Every dish was topped off with chili oil for maximum satisfaction. This gem is located in a little strip mall with plenty of parking. Credit cards and cash are accepted as payments but no Apple Pay. Service is great and the restaurant itself is small and cozy. We will be back to try some other staples on their menu that were recommended to us by the server.

I believe they've changed management a few times but each time hits for me so I'm not complaining lol. I came here on a Saturday for lunch and there wasn't a wait. There was only one lady taking orders and waiting on the tables. I ordered the beef noodles and my uncle ordered the beef and tendon noodles. The soup was good and there were plenty of noodles in my order. Definitely satisfied my noodle cravings! My uncle also ordered these steamed buns/baos that I don't remember what it's called but that + vinegar sauce was 10/10! This is my usual go to place for frozen dumplings and noodles so I always enjoy a visit here despite who is managing I guess. I've been coming here since I think 2020? And each time the management has changed, the food has remained pretty good in quality and quantity! The place is a small simple spot with a few tables and chairs. It can get pretty crowded so I'd sometimes order to go. There is a big parking lot that can get packed at busy lunch and dinner hours.

Stopped by on my way back to the Bay Area. Owner was super friendly and he helped guide us on all their famous dishes. We got the soy milk, beef pancake, rice rolls, beef tendon noodle soup (a MUST), pan fried buns, crispy dumplings. They all had the right crunch, flavor and definitely a must stop for anyone that enjoys these flavors. We will definitely be stopping by next time we are in the San Gabriel area.

Had a recent visit here. The food was not bad but was nothing to write home about. The broth in the beef noodle soup needed more flavor. A few years ago, this place used to be better and was one of the best places for beef noodle soup but not anymore. They do have meat pies here which were decent and are not too commonly found at other restaurants in the area.

This place should be rated much higher. Their meat pies and dumplings are the absolute best. Their noodle soups are excellent as well. Service is fast and friendly. This place is in regular rotation for my family

Fair prices and friendly service but a little slow; we were here on a Saturday around 1pm and was seatted right away. The food tastes above average, not overly salty.

My family's go to for Northern Style dumplings and noodle soup dishes in the SGV. This spot has been very reliably delicious over the past 8+ years we've been going and it's still delicious. Located in a strip mall with a good sized parking lot that can get busy because of the other businesses. Service is typically fast and efficient, and our go tos are pan friend pork dumplings, pan fried bun, scallion pancake, Sour Cabbage Pho and Hot and Sour Noodles. We order these every time and always leave satisfied. I love the food here.

2 new dishes: 1. Cold chicken noodle in sesame sauce: Tasted good and good for the hot weather. Add a little spicy sauce, yummy. 2. Vegetarian appetizer: Can choose from various items but we chose shredded tofu, spicy turnip and spicy cabbage (aka kimchi). All Also ordered other usuals: pork and cabbage dumpling & pork and chives steamed dumpling. Bro ate then all!

Very authentic northern China buns and dumplings. pan fried buns and Chinese chives pockets are my favorite. There is only one server for the entire dining room, he did his best bust still a bit overwhelmed. Not much decor for the place, but practical and fit the theme.

The current owner kept the name when they took over the business 2years ago. The menu is pretty much the same with noodles, dumplings, buns, XLb. They have very tasty juicy steam pork buns but need to separate it carefully or the skin may tear. Jingdong pork meat pie and the wonton soup are just OK. pork chop rice combo is very tasty ( just a little salty) with good rice and side vegetables. The menu is very extensive so may try other things sometime. Good customer service from the nice young gentleman.

We ordered this Dan Dan noodle The flavor is good BUT Its extremely salty. I can only eat a little bit and I felt lightheaded after. (Due to my high blood pressure) Not recommended if you have similar health issues

This place is amazing! They have tasty spicy beef noodle soup along with soy milk!!! I can't wait to come back for their spicy wonton!! Fresh ingredients and fast service. Plenty of parking in the plaza.

Came here for breakfast and tried multiple dishes! Had a few items: the little dumplings (size of a thumb) was super cute, pork pancake, pork sticky rice roll, spicy noodles, and ice soy milk. The restaurant was very homey and had authentic Chinese breakfast food. My favorite go to has to be the spicy noodles, ice soy milk, and pork pancakes since it was so crispy and juicy.

I had another place in mind but didn't feel like waiting on a busy weekend, so I ended up here at Zui Xiang Yuan. No wait time, empty restaurant on a weekend. I tried the Chinese beef pie, dumplings, beef noodle soup, beef rolls, cucumber salad ; the pictures looked great here so I thought why not. Bottom line is I didn't love the food here, but it wasn't terrible just not great. Service was friendly. No frills mom n pop shop I was hoping to love. Beef Pie: Very Bland. Sauce didn't help. Heavy msg aftertaste. Beef Noodle Soup: A very light broth similar to a light chicken broth mixed with beef. Needed more aromatics, the tender beef and soup had a unpleasant smell. Pork n Chives dumplings: juicy but bland. Sauce couldn't save it. Thick skin. Beef Roll: not enough sauce and veggies. Bland and very oily. Cucumber Salad: was ok. It was room temp. Probably better cold.

One of the best Chinese restaurants in the area. The best dishes are baozi and dumplings. Authentic and tasty. Service is typical asian standards.

We went to this place for bao zi and it did not disappoint. I'm not too familiar with what is to be expected but they are all considered dumplings in a sense. Just expect the bread thickness to be like man tao, the soup to be like xiao long bao, and the meat to be like a gyoza. Get the pan fried pork dumplings, the rest you can forego, but they were all pretty decent. 7/10.

Authentic, lowkey restaurant serving Taiwan/Mandarin food that makes you feel like you're eating at your family's house. We came here because we were craving Beijing-style meat pies and they did not disappoint. We also enjoyed excellent handmade dumplings and noodles. All the food was piping hot and very fresh. They also sell huge bags of frozen dumplings that you can take home. We tried their spicy Taiwan-style beef noodle soup, which was delicious. I was surprised there was no one there when we went, but I liked how there wasn't a wait and this place feels like a well-kept secret among locals who want authentic dumplings and Chinese food.

Ordered Pork chop rice twice. First time the port chop too burnt (maybe be old oil). Second time, pork chop was sour (maybe had some lemon juice) and the vegetable rice mostly rice (just a couple of vegetables strands). Won't be ordering pork chop rice but other items were good.

Food: Service: Ambiance: We used to come here a lot before Covid. I think they have changed the ownership now. Food is not as great as they used to be and the menu is very limited. The beef tendon noodle soup was good but the tendons were little taught and chewy. Chinese style leek and pork pie was bland. Out of all 3 dishes, we only like their preserved eggs with tofu. Do not expect any good service here! Parking in this plaza is very difficult. It's worth mentioning that they are dishonest because I bought 2 bags of frozen dumplings, it's tax free and pay by cash only. The lady insisted to add on my bill after I told her that I will pay cash for my meal, so I actually paid taxes on the frozen dumplings too. I was in a hurry to go so I didn't realize it until later. It's not a lot of money so I didn't bother to go back but they surely have lost a good customer here.

First time here and we simply ordered the lamb meat pie. I was a bit surprised by how oily the dish is. It was piping hot from the frier and it sat in a small pool of oil. It was fairly good size. The broth inside the meat bun was very good. I wish there was more variety of meat and choices.

I made a quick stop at Zui Xiang Yuan to buy their Pork, Shrimp, and Sea Cucumber frozen dumplings. They were the juiciest tasty dumplings I've ever had from local dumpling shops! They make their filling and dumpling wrappers in house. I love how there is a bite to their dumpling wrapper - it's like eating al dente noodles. What they offer in the restaurant for dine-in is also offered frozen so you can purchase them to cook on your own. Each bag of frozen dumplings comes in 50 pieces and the price varies depending on the filling you get. For the Pork, Shrimp, and Sea Cucumber, it was $32 a bag. You can pan fry them, boil them, or steam them. Each dumpling was filled to the brim and you can see/taste the individual ingredients (shrimp, pork, and sea cucumber)! This is my new favorite place for homemade dumplings!

Came here for lunch on a Thursday at 10-ish. The food came out in stages based on when they were done. The service was good. The food was delicious and hit the spot. A low key spot with authentic food! Would come back & recommend to friends/family

Super delicious beef noodle soup and potstickers. We came here twice in 1 week! I see the 1 star reviews that complain about parking spaces. Lol, what does that have to do with the food? The boiled dumplings are great, too. Service is superv where it is the guy or woman with glasses. The guy is super nice and will take his time to introduce the items to you if you ask. The potstickers have two versions. One has enclosed wrappers, and the other has the filling coming out the 2 sides. I've tried both and reocmmend the enclosed wrapper.

The last time I wrote a review for this place was when it was called Flavor Garden. Similar menu. Don't order the beef noodle. It came in a huge bowl but mostly just oil and it tasted burnt. Ended up throwing it away. Beef pie was still delicious though.

Fried Pork chop was salty, rice is leftover rice, stiff not moistured. The tortilla flat 煎饼果子, used fried dough sticks inside, kind of oily, and the paste on it taste off. The leek pancake was really good.

We (my sister and I) went on a Saturday noontime for lunch. The place is not that crowded, which can be viewed good or bad. We ordered the pork chives pies and chives pocket, stewed beef noodle soup, flounder fish dumplings, and a few other things to go. Overall, the food was exceptional. As my mom prefers, the food was piping hot. So the waiting staff cautioned us with the burning contents inside. But they were so good. I aim to go back here as often as I can. (I was afraid that this would be a "cash only" place, but it isn't. They accepted my credit card)

Amazingly great food I've eaten at almost every Chinese restaurant in the San Gabriel area. This restaurant is easily in the top 5!! Great service. Nice little place. I wish him nothing but great success!

4.5 stars. Came here on a Wednesday evening around 7:00 pm and there was almost no one here. It's such a shame because this place was so tasty. I absolutely loved their Dan Dan Mian. It was so flavorful and the noodles were cooked perfectly. The sauce, meat, and peanuts all blended together and every single bite was so good. The beef noodle soup was also very flavorful. The meat especially in the beef noodle soup was really good. It was super tender and soft, not many shops can make it at that level. Lastly, although the pan fried pork buns were very yummy, it was a bit pricey. $14 for 8 pieces, and I wish the pieces were bigger and the bottom more crispy. However it was still a nice addition to round out the noodle focused meal. Overall, I would highly recommend giving this place a shot and support the family owned restaurant.

5 stars for the Beef Roll. That's literally all I want to talk about. I was at my friends house and she was like "help yourself to some goodies!" That beef roll was fully loaded. The beef was cooked perfectly, almost like a rare roast beef. Not overly cooked and dry like other places, plus it was thinly sliced and nicely layered. The herbs and every other component was just right. It was extremely tasty. I need to order this myself and I will! Will share photos when I do!

The Chongqing noodles were good! They went easy on the spicy stuff but it was still plenty hot for me. Most of the spice comes from the red chili flakes and oil which floats to the top. The first bites hit pretty hard but it was much more comfortable after a while. I am a big fan of green onions and cilantro, and the soup is topped with a decent amount of both. I would return to try this dish again. We also ordered some beef meat pies which were tasty. A lot of hot juice comes out when you bite in. Probably not the healthiest thing, but it sure tastes good. Wish they had a spicy version. Also ordered some fried baos and steamed dumplings which were just OK to me. I probably wouldn't get those again. This is a hole-in-the-wall place, so it's not exactly spotless inside, but that doesn't really bother me if the food is great. Service was decent and pricing seemed reasonable to me.

The best Chinese meat pies (Beijing Pie House) in the SGV (San Gabriel Valley) are not around anymore thanks to COVID pandemic and I was craving for some Chinese meat pies about a month ago. I did a quick search and discovered this restaurant located in a strip mall plaza right next to 168 Market on Valley Blvd. For some odd reason customers can also purchase homegrown lemon at the cashier counter (2 for $1 for larger lemons or 3 for $1 for smaller one) I walked in and was the only customers getting a to-go order. I waited outside and got my meat pies (or beef pies in this case) in 15 minutes. *** Chinese style beef pie (or meat pie - 4 pieces for $12.50): Crispy crust and slight juicy pies, but filling was decent and not amazing. Fillings reminded me of your typical dumpling fillings that one can find in the frozen section of 99 Ranch supermarket. *** A solid 3.5-star on beef pies and no hiccups on service.

We have a very good brunch in this new remodel home restaurant. We are so impressed by their new menu and prices. You can find all kinds of traditional north of China breakfast foods especially 煎饼果子and油条it's crispy Tianjin buns天津包子is juicy and delicious. Their waiter and waitress are friendly just like you have a lunch in a friend's house. If you're 煎饼果子，油条and包子fans，it's worth to try

The beef pie was good. On par with places like A & J in Irvine. There's not a lot of places that have Chinese beef pies so I'm glad to see this restaurant is here.

We had the most delicious pork buns, wontons, and dandan noodles. The owner overheard it was my birthday and even gave me a free dessert!

The nicest people work here. That feels worth mentioning up front, but should not take anything away from the food. We got the steamed pork buns, the fried pork chops with rice and the beef and tendon noodle soup. Our one-year-old absolutely feasted, she loved every bite of everything. We did too, the beef in the soup was perfectly tender, the broth rich and flavorful. The pork chops were perfectly fried and the rice had excellent texture. The steamed buns were juicy and delicious. We saw they serve breakfast all day, and can't wait to try that next.

4.5 stars. Popped in here on a whim because we saw they had vegetarian options that were affordable! We ordered the steamed vegetarian dumplings (10 pieces), Vegetarian pies (4 to an order), and Dan Dan Noodle (hold the minced meat on top). Mild spicy was perfect for the noodle because it had the hua jiao pepper flavor but it wasn't overbearing. The noodles came out steaming fresh. The other two dishes took awhile longer, but they came out piping hot. The freshly steamed dumplings were flavorful with a pepper salt flavor. The filling was what impressed me, because it had a multitude of better ingredients. It included napa cabbage, egg, vermicelli, and a mushroom mixture. I saw bits of wood ear, shiitake, and enoki. The dough around the dumpling also seemed handmade. The pies came out and even though the filling was the sMe as the dumplings, it was a bit different. The shell of the pie was fresh and crispy. It went really well with their housemade black bean hot sauce. I wish they had a tangier vinegar for the dumplings, but they only had a garlic rice vinegar which was slightly sweet. Service was also very friendly.

On a Thursday afternoon in late August, I was craving pan fried pork dumplings for lunch. I tried to call 15 minutes before 12 noon but their line was busy. I waited till 12 noon to go there and order take out. Actually there was no one inside except for staff. I ordered pork chop lunch and pork pan fried dumplings. The cashier told me it was 15 min wait. I came back at 12:25pm and my lunch was ready. The pork lunch w/mixed rice, chopped veggies, and egg was $10. They gave me 2 scoops of mixed rice(diced up carrots, choy) w/3 pieces of crispy fried pork chops. The pork pan fried dumplings was juicy inside as I took a bite. It taste so good that I couldn't finished all 10 pieces.

Their dumplings are pretty good. However, I like the chive pockets better than the meat pies. Both have really thin skins and are super crispy. I also ordered the tofu with preserved eggs and that's really good too. I enjoyed the meal and plan to go back to try other dishes.

Good food, excellent service. The guy always smiles & helps whatever we need. Green onion cakes are not oily. It is creepy. Soil milk is smooth. Salt sweet rice is very yummy. My family love the food very much.

If you like noodles and you like spice, look no further. This is my go-to spot in the 626. A lot of Chinese places try to do spicy by either adding a lot of chili peppers or Sichuan peppercorns to make it numbing. What makes this spot unique is the addition of sourness and acidity to balance out the spiciness which takes it to the next level. Excellent vegetarian options. Depending on who is working, you may or may not be able to order in English. The prices are very affordable esp given the huge portion sizes.

After reading some reviews on Yelp, decided to give this place a try. We got fried pork buns, beef pies, and their Chinese sauce steam buns. To honest, they were really just average. Beef pies were probably the best of all 3, as the fillings in pan fried and steam bun were bland tasting. I'll admit they were all juicy though (some would call it greasy, I found myself not being able to eat more after trying 1 from each dishes). I have to agree with the other reviewer, Beijing pie house had better tasting pies though, sadly as of now, they are not operating. Sorry to say but this experience was somewhat disappointing. Probably won't come back Choose wisely.

Different name but same food as Flavor Garden Service today was great though it was busy. One server is very nice and friendly. 1. Spicy beef tendon soup: pretty good. Not too much noodle which I kinda like. There are different levels of spiciness. Medium was at the right level. Needs more vegetables. 2. Soup dumplings: Xiao long bao -meat is okay. Not enough soup inside though 3. Beef pie -very juicy. The skin has a nice crunch since fried. A little bit salty. Would definitely get it again. Yum. It does take maybe more than 15 min I think to be made/cooked. Better than Beijing Pie House 4. Pan fried dumpling - pretty good and juicy but so full. Couldn't finish them 5. Spicy sour soup hot version: Well balanced flavors. The cold version is not as good. 5. Chongqing noodle (medium spicy) Good amount of heat. Lots on onion cilantro. Has a layer of chili oil but thats how it suppose to be. Would def get again.

Been here since it was Flavor Garden (and the businesses b4 that too). Recently been back a few times and liked everything I've ordered. Chinese Style Beef Pie - or Beef Meat Pie as I call it. tasty & like the juicy inside. Spicy Sweet Potato Pho - which I call it Hot & Sour Vermicelli Soup satisfies my craving if I feel like ethnic noodles on a cold night. Steamed Pork Bun - overall good. We like the spicy sauce they gave. It's different than the ordinary chili oil sauce. Chinese Leek Pancakes - which is Pan Fried Leek/Chives Dumplings in this case. Usually they call it Leek or Chives Pocket elsewhere. Anyways, always gotten it. Kinda like a staple for me. Spicy Wontons - it was good. The owner asked me how spicy, I said whatever it comes in/how it was usually made. Lol, I should opt for mild next time. It was fairly spicy but in a good way. Cold Appetizers - gotten cucumber, seaweed & wood ear (black fungus mushroom). All three were a delight in addition to all the pies, buns, spicy & pan fried stuff we've ordered. Their frozen dumplings are good too. I've always phone ahead to order as take out. Never had any bad experience. So, service overall is fine/good to me at this place.

Was craving fried pork buns and decided to check out Zui Xiang Yuan's. The bottoms were crispy but the tops tasted like regular steamed pork buns. Nowhere close to the ones we had in Shanghai or even near Kang Kang's on Valley. The filling was a bit bland but nothing black vinegar and hot chili oil couldn't fix! In addition to their buns, my husband and I shared their shredded chicken cold noodles and Dan Dan noodles with mild spice. Generic store bought noodles but the sauces were very well made. The shredded chicken noodles were very peanut buttery - tasty but extremely filling. Cold noodles perfect for the summer but the heaviness of the sauce took that away. The Dan Dan noodles had a decent amount of heat - their numbing aftermath of peppercorn spice - glad we asked for mild. Good chunks of ground pork and chopped peanuts - loved the overall texture and flavor combo. Overall - well priced, generously portioned, served by friendly staffs. Would come back for the noodles!
