ZUM HIRSCHEN - Hotel & Gasthaus beim Stöckeler

It seems one needs to reserve and having now eaten there I can understand why. A beautiful outdoor terrace served by a friendly and professional waiting team. Certainly the best food in town and that at a very fair price and very high standard. Child friendly. Highly recommended

We went there twice last summer and wanted to leave a comment. Here it is at last. We were warmly and sympathetically received in the hotel and in the hotel restaurant. In the evening we ate very well in the restaurant. Everything is done with taste and a lot of attention to customers. We have excellent memories. The dessert "Apfelküchle im Bierteig" was a delight. Breakfast was perfect. We highly recommend this establishment and would be delighted to return.

Great food. Friendly service. Very clean. My only complaint is when ordering food you usually get fries, salad or something inclusive with the main course . Here the side plate costs extra

We are at the restaurant and it was great. We loved the Kaiserschmarrn for dessert! They have a full German menu and a small menu in English although it does not list everything. I ordered wiener schnitzel with cheese noodles which was not on the English menu.

We came here on the basis of the ranking, (tripadvisor) unfortunately it was not as expected. It was on a weekday in the postseason and we had not reserved and therefore were already at the opening in the early evening on site. Already when asking for a table for 2 people was a rushed atmosphere which was about the whole meal, from the reception of the order to the food served. One of the dishes was served cold, but this was corrected, albeit with a disbelieving remark. The whole dinner lasted about 50 minutes. for a classic meal, not for a snack or fast food! If you are looking for a spontaneous nice dinner, I wouldn't recommend this place. The food was good but not outstanding. Although we are not strong eaters, especially not in the evening, the portions still had room for a dessert. (externally ;-))

We just been there for Dinner. It is a great place to get local specialities. Service was good at all times. Food portions were huge compared to other restaurants

I only visited the restaurant part, not the hotel. It's a great restaurant, service is very friendly and fast. Food quality is excellent for the price. The restaurant is quite busy even for lunch so better reserve, especially if you want to sit outside in summer to enjoy the weather. I would become a regular, if I'd live nearby.

Possibly my favourite hotel ever. The owners and staff are friendly and welcoming. The rooms are beautiful, spacious and comfortable. The shower in our bathroom was enormous! The location is ideal for visiting a wide range of different places. The hotel is in the very centre of the pretty village of Scheidegg, right next door to the church. You do hear the church bells ring and, if you sleep with the windows open, you will hear locals going about their business in the mornings. For us this really added to the charm of the hotel. |We had an excellent breakfast in the hotel every morning and ate dinner in the restaurant twice. I honestly can't recommended Zum Hirschen highly enough. Many thanks to everyone there for making our stay so memorable.
