Zunzi's

Gary helped me order and was so funny. He truly makes the customer service experience worth the visit. I also feel like their environment is more like a family on days when he is there. I hope he stays :) P.S. the wings man…the wings.

Food and service are always excellent. The staff are friendly, attentive, and welcoming. I love the slaap chips for dinner and the Lekker spread for a lighter meal. If you’re in the area make your way to Zunzi’s. It’s one of the few decent places to eat in Savannah.

We walked in on a Friday night and the place was empty. However, the service was amazing. The guy who made my sandwich was so friendly and made me feel welcomed. I ordered the conquistador and OMG it was so good. The sauce was so unique and flavorful albeit a bit garlicky. Overall, I was impressed.

Zunzi’s is fantastic! Stopped in with some friends. Gary and Queen were awesome in helping us navigate the menu. I highly recommend the SLAAP nachos, the chips are perfectly seasoned and crispy. They’ve also got sandwiches and don’t pass up the sauces. I will be back to try the and you should too! The Dank sauce is awesome, give it a try!

My wife has been raving about this for years. Finally made it here. It DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! Food was fantastic. Eva our server was incredible!! Highly recommend!!

They take care of you at Zunzi’s! Tara gave us excellent customer service and made sure everything was exactly how we wanted it. (Give her a raise!) She even gave me suggestions when I wasn’t sure what to get my first time here. The food was so tasty and everything was ready so quickly. Will definitely be back!

Great food. Fresh and cooked to order. Queen and Gary were great! Smiles and laughs while I waited and chatted. You can tell they love their jobs and the customers.....and that imported African sweet tea is worth every sip! *Chef's kiss* will always come back and support!

I've been a regular at Zunzi's for years, but haven’t been in a while. Today I stopped by to grab my kid lunch, and had the pleasure of meeting Queen. She truly made my experience unforgettable. While there have been some changes, like price increases, Queen's exceptional customer service is why I'll keep coming back. She was so helpful, sweet, and knowledgeable. Despite the higher prices, I'll definitely return because great, friendly service like hers makes all the difference!

First time here at Zunzi's tonight. I appreciate Gary, Ronin, and Tara being so hospitable towards us. The restaurant was clean and well maintained. I chose the Conquistador and had the Sh*t Yeah sauce with it. 10/10

An explosion of flavor! My workplace ordered takeout from here last Tuesday! I had never heard of this place before, so im glad they introduced me to it! I got the Lettuce wrap combo: bird island, with South African tea unsweet.. Because I'm a saucy girl, I also asked for the "hot as shit sauce." It's not very spicy--more tangy with a subtle kick--but still tasty. The chicken curry and other accoutrements were wrapped up tightly and neatly, making it surprisingly easier to eat than I had expected. It was so delicious and flavorful! I couldn't get enough of dipping my chips (yum!) in all of the sauces that came with my combo as well as pouring them on my wrap. The tea was also so delicious and refreshing. I'm not sure exactly what is in it but it tastes special and delicious! Can't wait to try more things!

Zunzi's is a diamond in the rough. Really thankful to know about this wonderful restaurant. Incredible food. I was given two samples of their best sandwiches and couldn't decide which one to go with. I ended up with the conquistador and it paid off. One of the staff came by and hung out with us for a minute really cool dude pictured here and asked if we would do a Google review, he asked the guy. really chill environment. Ordered ahead for pickup and the food was ready on time. Inside it mostly seemed like a typical fast casual place, although I liked the large murals. The conquistador sandwich I got was quite tasty, and a generous size. The slaap chips were also quite good, but not what I was expecting as these chips were chips in the American sense but "slaps chips" are a style of South African fries, so I think the menu should make clear the chips are not fries as this place leans into a South African style.

Yummy! We discovered the original Zunzi's in Savannah when our daughter was in school there. So we have been super happy that one opened in Atlanta! No, it's not quite the same experience as the original, but the food is still really good. Zunzi's Atlanta is colorful and welcoming with plenty of seating indoors and out. The servers/sandwich makers were friendly and seemed to enjoy working there. Our sandwich was made fresh to order. We got the Conquistador to split and an order of their chips. I liked the flavor of the seasoning on the chips. Th chicken and sauces on the sandwich blend together for such a flavorful experience in the mouth! Just a word of warning - get some napkins. This is a messy eat! My hubby did wish the meat was a bit warmer, but it didn't stop him from cleaning his plate! If you are in the mod for a delicious and unique sandwich - head to Zunzi's!

I got some wings from here and they were some very interesting flavors. But I have to say, neither of them disappointed! The curry was a flavor I had never had in a wing but I'll definitely get them again. The Buffalo was rather tasty as well. The cashier suggested I try the tea because it is something they are known for and it did not disappoint. The place is super chill and friendly!

So good! We ordered the large salmon sandwich and some wings. We weren't able to eat either right away, and yet the bread held up so well and wasn't soggy at all. One of the better sandwiches I have had honestly! I would like to go back and try the wings hot because they were good even cold!

The food was delicious! This is a high quality fast food restaurant. The Fisherman is a salmon sandwich and the salmon was moist & juicy. All of the ingredients were super fresh. I also ordered the wings with a peach barbecue sauce. I really enjoyed the flavor profile of the wings. I love Zunzi's. They never disappoint.

I came here years ago and had a sandwich but decided to try something new today. I got their slaap chips and for take out. The order was made online ahead and ready on time when I picked it up. The chips were unique and delicious. I don't normally like veggies and even loved the peppers on them and the cheese sauce combo with the seasoned chips was great. It was a large portion and definitely enjoyable. Would definitely order this again. Recommend splitting this dish with someone else as an app and getting a sandwich for a more healthy optjons too.

The sauce here is the wow factor! The food here is good and pretty flavorful. If you get a sandwich combo you could easily spilt it between two people. The workers are really friendly and they'll allow you to sample something if your unsure if you'll like it. The chips are also very good and are well seasoned. My only complaint is that they use styrofoam for dine-in orders. Over time, the single-use plastic forks/cups and styrofoam boxes accumulate a ton of waste. There are many better options for both dine-in and to-go containers that aren't as wasteful.

Zunzi's was fantastic! We've never had South African sandwiches but was absolutely good and had vegan options. The chips are AMAZING and we'd come back just for the chips. The sauce was good and the wings were cooked perfectly. Certainly a great spot.

This salmon sandwich is bussin. The sauces are good af. I like the yellow looking sauce the best. 1st time eating from this place and i will return.

We stumbled upon this place after realizing the nearby donut shop was closed. So glad we found it! The sandwiches are loaded with meat and toppings, flavorful, saucy, so good. The chips are solid as well. The woman putting our meal together was kind and friendly. We've already returned for seconds.

If you're looking for a great sandwich...Zunzi's is definitely the place to go! Food is always fresh, Service is friendly & fast and the restaurant is always clean. Parking can get a little tight due to limited space but DoorDash/Uber Eats is always in option with them to avoid that issue. Also a main bonus point is when they have Zunzi Fest! Which is free sandwich for all e-mail & text subscribers!

Another great experience at Zunzi's. I showed up 15 min before closing and the staff was excited to serve me and they weren't out of any ingredients. This is something refreshing to experience, especially at a fast casual place in the middle of Atlanta. I got the pita wrap this time and it was awesome!

Whenever I travel, I like to find local restaurants, not so much the chain ones more local. Man did we hit a gold mine here this place has two banners outside that say people magazine voted it. The best sandwich also voted the best wings in Atlanta. My friend had the sandwich and all he could do was brag about how good it was the chips that came with the sandwich were absolutely phenomenal homemade chips, I had the wings with the sweet sauce absolutely some of the best tasting wings I've ever had in my life if you were local, what a treat of a place you have if you were passing through, please make sure you stop by and taste this amazing restaurant

To say Zunzi's is sublime will forever be an understatement. I am really late in writing this review (for that I am sorry) but a few weekends ago, while traveling through Atlanta for work, I learned to my absolute delight that Zunzi's had expanded beyond Savannah where I lived years ago. A dear, beloved place I thought lost to time and memory was suddenly within reach again. I almost literally dropped everything and ran to this location. What I found was basically just what I'd hoped for: the same amazing sandwiches and the famous Zunzi's sauces that dreams are made of. I never had a meal there I didn't love, but went with my old favorite, Oliver's Lunch, and an order of wings because I'd never tried them before. I was not disappointed in the slightest. And of course, I left with a bottle each of their sauce to bring the magic back home. Most importantly, I must give my thanks and compliments to the staff. I know from experience how working in the food industry can grind you down, wear you out, and drive you crazy. You would never know that from walking into the original Zunzi's, and Atlanta's spot was no different. The staff was just as friendly and warm as I remembered. A special shoutout to the one who helped me with my order. I didn't catch her name, but she was a SCAD film student who's super nice and personable, and enthusiastically took time to explain some of the new Zunzi's features to me. Incredible food and incredible people are why Zunzi's is the best. Thank you, and $hit Yeah!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place!! They have South African Sandwiches, meals and wings. I'm obsessed with the sandwiches even the veggie sandwich, I ate it all and didn't even miss the meat. I am OBSESSED with their sweet tea, it isn't too sweet its just right. The wings are actually good it comes with their sauces they make so try the sauces prior to getting the wings, they are good sized wings too not those mini wings. They have amazing customer service and their phrase SH*T YEAH is my favorite when entering. They have indoor and outdoor seating.

I love this place. Their sandwiches are SO bomb. I got the Godfather this time and it was delicious. I love that everything is made fresh, including the bread. I had to wait an extra two minutes for fresh bread. The service is quick and fast. The vibes are chill and the place is spacious. Parking can either be in the front or on the side of the restaurant. It's free parking. The street by this place can get really busy.

Today was Zunzifest and the free sandwhich brought me, but the flavor, leanings and friend staff will keep me coming back! For the promotion your choice of Sandwich was a Chicken or veggie Conquistador. I opted for a falafel Conquistador which consisted of provolone ( opted out), lettuce, tomato, onion, cucumber and their house made sauce. I knew the sandwich was going to be a hit just from how the lettuce was placed on the bread guarding it against wet ingredients making the sandwich safe for travel. For me nothing is worse than soggy bread. The combination of flavors were delish! I also purchased a side of chips which are made in house. The seasoning is a bit savory almost mesquite flavor, crispy and tasty. The staff were welcoming from my entrance until my departure. All hands were on deck as well which made things flow smoothly. Ooo and today they were handing out bogo coins for a sandwich or wings. Can't wait to see what other delectable items they have in store!

Zunzi's sandwiches and sauces are bomb!!! It had been about 4 years since I visited, and I'm so glad I finally went again now! It was even better than I remembered! I got the vegan Rising Sun sub, and my mouth was soooo happy! The vegetables (especially the mushrooms) are seasoned and cooked so nicely. I got a side of their Hot As Shit sauce to go with it, and I could put that on anything! It's a little spicy (depending on your tolerance) but has a lot of flavor -- not your basic hot sauce. Their service was above and beyond. The girl who greeted us went over everything on the menu for us newbies (I basically was since it had been so long). She answered all of our questions, and was super friendly. She made me feel comfortable. I got the last piece of bread that was already made and they made a fresh loaf for my gf's sandwich. When I sat down to eat it I realized my bread was stale and hard. I reluctantly took it back to the counter and the girl was too quick to take care of it, offered to make me the bigger sandwich than what I paid for (I told her that wasn't necessary) and then gave me a bogo chip to use on the next visit! I would go back for the food alone, but I will especially go back for the service too! If I owned a restaurant, she is exactly who I would want representing my business. All the love to Zunzi's!

Ive come to Zunzi's twice and have enjoyed my food each time. Once for a quick lunch and the other for Zunzifest. On a normal day you can walk right in and order, but during zunzifest, the line is out the door. Their menu is kind of pricey for the food items they serve. Sandwiches start at $13 and up for the regular size. They do pack the sandwiches with a lot of meat.

The sauce at Zunzi's is SO flavorful. I love the taste of the sauces; it's an exlosion of flavor and a warm hug at the same time. I could put the sauce on anything. Delicious!

The sandwiches here are AMAZING!!! I can't rant and rave enough about how good their sandwiches are. I always get the Conquistador, as the chicken is flavored to perfection. It's my favorite sandwich on the menu, hands down. What separates a good sandwich from a great sandwich to me, is the bread. The bread can make or break the sandwich, and the french bread they use is top tier. It's really fresh, not to mention the sauces they have are very flavorful and compliment the sandwiches perfectly. The South African Tea is sooooo good!!! I have no idea how they make it, but it's good! Last but not least, the staff are all so friendly and we're amazing. They answered all my questions in a very welcoming manner. I'm officially a regular at Zunzi's. Highly recommend!

Great late night find on a recent trip to Savannah. This gem offers a selection of South African inspired sandwiches, salads, and bowls, as well as a nice selection of beers and cocktails. If you're in Savannah, late night or anytime, I recommend Zunzi's!

had the conquistador sandwich today with the HAS hot sauce and it was incredible. Bread is super soft and fresh, employees were so nice and moved the line along quickly. Loved the vibe, will definitely be back soon!

Return visit to Zunzi's! This time I brought a friend who had never been before and the staff was super helpful with explaining all our options. I had a conquistador again and it was DELICIOUS!! Plenty of seating and parking and love the Zappos chips that come with my sandwich. Love coming back to this place.

Really expensive for what it is, around $15 for half a sub and a bag of chips. Otherwise, the sandwiches were good and we really enjoyed the sauces and flavors! Service was really good too.

THESE ARE THE BEST SANDWICHES & MASHED POTATOES IVE EVER HAD‼ I've been coming here for 4 years now since living on collier. The wings are a hidden gem I'm surprised I've never heard anyone recommend wings from here.

Ever visit a restaurant where the people who work there love their jobs and it makes going there fun? That is Zunzi's! Add in amazing food (their chicken, mashed potatoes and sauces are top notch) and super fast service and Zunzi's has easily become a go-to for our family and a favorite for our kids. G and Ronan and the rest of the crew there are awesome.

ATL needs to gtk Zunzi's, place is such a diamond! go get you a Conquistador, ATL!! And the homemade sauces and chips, mmmmm. Such a unique and delicious place to eat, we always fill up at Zunzi's when we are nearby:)

My GPS took me some weird way to go around traffic and I ended up on Howell Mill Rd. and I thought I was hallucinating when I saw Zunzi's on the side of a building. I stomped on the brakes and pulled in because i lived in Savannah for many years and LOVE Zunzi's!! I was suspicious when I walked in because it's far from the little original but I spotted Oliver's lunch on the menu and knew I was in the right spot! I went with mashed potatoes, chicken, grilled veggies and bread, all covered in sauce. It was delicious and just as good as I remember having in Savannah. It's definitely got a franchise feel now but you can't exactly replicate the original and the tiny original location was always packed way too full. So I'm good with the look and line up. The staff there couldn't have been friendlier. I'm excited such a great place is expanding and I'll definitely be back!

Zunzi's is a great new place from South Africa that offers sandwiches among other things. It is a great change from your normal sandwich shop, and worth a try! The employees are also very friendly!

Oh my Lord I have fallen in love with Zunzi's Food. First of all, I called early in the day and had to ask a lot of questions. What is this what is that. All of my questions were answered by a delightful young girl. Positive attitude and very helpful. We ordered the Booty Roll and the 3 Spread the + Pita. The Booty Roll, my choice was perfect in every way. I ordered it with everything on the side(I like to control the amount of sauce on all sandwiches! . The Booty consisted of a very long piece of Boerewors Sausage, Grilled Onions, Grilled Red Peppers, Zunzi's Gravy and Dank Sauce served on your choice of bread and I picked the French bread. The Boerewors was awesome. And all of the ingredients that make up The Booty Roll meld perfectly together. I just kept dipping and tasting! The French bread was some of the best that I have had. I recommend one ordering the French bread. The 3 Spread + Pita was also awesome. The 3 Spreads that we picked were 1 - the Avocado Spread, 2 - The Ziki Spread and 3 - The Curry Chicken Salad and it included tomatoes, cucumbers and red onions. All 3 spread were amazing and went very well together. Think our favorite was all of them. Can't rank them. The pita was great and we still have some and we ordered this food this past Tuesday. They must give one a whole piece of pita per number of spreads ordered. We ordered online and it was a great online ordering experience. Like the options of all the ingredients listed with an option of yes or no. Then remarks so I could get those sauces on the side. When we arrived our order had been placed on a shelf so we could just pick it up. This place totally gets safety precautions during the Pandemic. All employee were wearing masks - check. Tables socially distanced - check. And now for the winner...the packaging of the take out food. All food was placed in containers and then placed in a sealed plastic bag that must be torn when ready to open....Triple Check. I highly recommend and can't wait to return. Wish they would open one in the Decatur/Emory area.

First, the customer service was better than the food! Tonight was my first time there. The three young ladies (sistas) were extremely friendly and helpful with my order. They gave me plenty of suggestions and a couple of samples - which i enjoyed. The sample of the mashed potatoes made me get some and i didn't even need it. Super tasty. Anyway, the service was excellent and when i got home to eat... it was equally excellent! I normally don't tip when picking up my food but i def had to give those young ladies one for their outstanding service, recommendations and overall personalities! I wish i would have gotten their names but I'm sure this review will let the manager know who they are. I'll def be back. Good food and even better service!

i was in atlanta and wanted to try something new so looked and saw zunzis which has south african food. i have been to south africa so was familiar with the bbq and their food flavor there were a lot of options to choose from including sandwiches and platter options. we got the grilled chicken sandwich and the hummus and avocado appetizer the hummus and avocado were big in portion but lacked flavor - the sides were accompanied by pita and vegetables. the grilled chicken was also big in portion and had decent flavor - the bread was very good but south african bbq generally has more flavor and that is what i was expecting and unfortunately that wasn't there. the sandwich came with lettuce and sauce overall - big portions but lacked flavor

Casual lunch spot with fast service and yummy food. Sandwiches were delicious! We got one regular and one with lettuce wrap. The Conquistador was simple with grilled chicken and their special Zunzi's sauce. Bird Island was curry chicken with more of a kick. Chicken was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Will be back to try more!

The gatsbys are delicious and it has plenty of sauce! This place is also vegan vegetarian friendly. We usually order the gatsbys with lots of thick portobello mushrooms and the vegan meatballs. They also have outdoor seatings so if you have a fur baby with you or if the weather is nice out you'll have yourself a perfect picnic!

Stopped in for first time, looking to try something new. Ordered Bird Island sandwich with chips. First, loved the homemade chips, and the sandwich was excellent. I got my sauce on the sandwich. The nice lady asked if "on the side or sandwich". It was very tasty, lots of spice ( not so hot as flavorful). I might just get on side next time, just to keep the mustache clean! Nice people. Will return. Thx.

Love this place!!! Wow!! Never had something like this and it's amazing! We went on a whim and we were so glad we did. Right before closing too and the food was amazing. A note to self to try some of their hotter sauces but the sandwich was unbelievable and delicious!

We had the Conquistador sandwich and Buffalo Peri Wings. The chicken was fresh and wings were temperature hot. The service was also amazing and they made good recommendations. Definitely will be back.
