"Experience a slice of Portugal in Hamburg! The setting, a heritage-protected historical forge, exudes traditional German charm with its authentic decor and period open fireplace. It makes for a pleasantly laid-back atmosphere in which to tuck into delicious freshly made, fuss-free tapas. The chef-patron serves up genuine Portuguese cuisine but incorporates international influences. Try, for example, her "barbecued calamari, marinade, garlic" or "roasted miso cauliflower, white bean purée, coriander chimichurri". The well-curated wine list is dedicated to Portuguese labels." - Michelin Inspector

This is not a typical Michelin gourmet restaurant. We had dinner at this restaurant, which is small and has a very local and authentic atmosphere. All the dishes were tasty but quite simple. The dishes we ordered: • Prosciutto – tasty but ordinary. • Fried peppers – tasty but nothing special. • Bruschetta with burrata cheese and tomatoes – by far the best dish. Very tasty and unique. • Shrimp & chips – again, tasty but ordinary, though the sauce was excellent. • Entrecôte steak – very tasty. • Asparagus – the asparagus itself was good, but the sauce felt basic, like a mix of ketchup and mayonnaise. • Dessert – crème brûlée – tasty, but not remarkable. The price was around €75 per person, excluding drinks – an average value for money. Bottom line: I recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for tasty food but not the gourmet experience expected from a Michelin-style restaurant.

I went there with my husband for some tapas. We didn’t expect that it was so big and cozy at the same time. Fireplace, tiny tables, dim lighting. The dishes were very tasty and not too big, so you can try many different things. We really enjoyed and could recommend!

We were taken to this wonderful establishment by friends who live in Hamburg. Wow. What a great find! This is a charming restaurant with a cosy and inviting atmosphere. A converted blacksmith building with old world decor and tons of charm - situated in a local neighborhood. The food is Portuguese Tapas style with many choices. Fantastic, service and attentive owners to make sure your experience is first rate. The tastes were amazing. Recommend the chicken, lamb chops and meatballs. All the food was fantastic - and you will not go wrong with anything you order. But for simple dishes, the flavors and perfection of these three stood out. There are no English menus here. Which tells you it’s an off the grid location not frequented by tourists. But the staff is very helpful and will explain everything to you. Don’t be shy to try this restaurant if you want Tapas in a wonderful atmosphere. You won’t be disappointed. But make a reservation. The locals also know about the quality of this restaurant and it will likely be very busy at prime dinner hours.

We had a lovely visit. The interior is charming and the service was lovely. We especially liked the Datteln im Speck, Gratinierter Ziegenkäse mit Honig, Lachsfilet mit Zitronenbuttersauce, the meatballs, and the Kabeljau (a special). The eggplant, spinach, and zucchini were good, as were the brûlée and chocolate cake. The calamari was cooked perfectly, but somewhat bland. I will definitely return.

Yelp
I had eaten here several years ago and really liked the food, the atmosphere, and I also felt prices wer good for what they served back then. Returned this year, and felt the experience was really a mixed bag now. If you go, a couple of tips: First of all, get them to seat you in the cozy inner part. We had a 'view' of carelessly placed plastic crates and spare outdoor chairs in the narrow aisle with a window front. Secondly, ask them what the dishes are that you are ordering. We e.g. ordered sardines, expecting something they would cook themselves, and they then actually served an openend tin of sardines in oil with a few onions. For 22€. Some other dishes were delicious, others 'good', but prices were high throughout. Service wasn't very attentive. To sum it up - I am happy to pay the prices, but then I want an experience to go along with it. It has gotten a lot easier to make reservations than it used to here, and the place wasn't full on a Saturday night, so it might be others have noticed too that there's a mismatch.
