Very friendly and helpful staff

I really enjoyed my two nights stay in the hotel. It is located in one of the historical buildings in the old town but rooms are modern and light with very comfortable beds. Whole hotel is richly decorated with a good sense of aesthetics. ||The best part of my stay there were dinners. The food was just amazing, visually and of course tasted very well. The restaurant seems to be very popular as it was always packed. ||Hotel doesn't have their own parking lot. In the evening it is possible to park in front of hotel but there is limited space. During the day parking in whole old town is free but time limited. I decided to leave my car at the big parking lot at the swimming pool about 5 minutes of walking from the hotel. It was free and there was always enough space.

Rarely does the perfect combination of location, good ambience, great service, and excellent food come all together for a Restaurant, but at Zur Sonne Pappenheim it is perfection. When you enter you are greeted by Lovely team of staff and they are as warm as the interior which has a wonderful mix of wooden floors and brick walls, and a open log fire it's really quite lovely. The tables are a good size and the seating comfortable, and the art on the walls, all mostly representative of the area and nature, are as gorgeous as she is. Out side there’s a modern and huge terrace area with Lovely gardens and water feature. Perfect for those lovely summer evenings. In winter there’s log fires and a warm Cozy feel indoors with the option of a delicious Glü wine to bring on the Christmas cheer. But what really is just marvelous is the menu and the tantalizing taste sensations of the meals. Behind this menu has been allot of years of experience a passionate and brilliant Chef, that have created some of the very best food I have had the pleasure to eat. Modern Bavarian treats encompassing the taste of Bavarian and German foods utilizing the the freshest products from the markets to bring together the delights I enjoyed. There is a very good mix for Vegetarians and the meat eater and very pleasant combinations. Hauxen, schnitzel, meats and sausages with a great selection-of wines and beers. Excellent service. We arrived by bike and were allowed to lock our bikes up in a special designated area of the garage. The hotel has a strange layout but very modern and nice, the rooms are of a nice size and very clean, we had a 3 course meal included in our rate and although the choice was limited to two entree choices it was very good and beautifully presented. I would stay here for sure again.

Great food. Friendly staff. Nice location. Don't miss the sun terrace during summertime. And enjoy a walk to Pappenheim castle after lunch.

Clean reconstucted nice room, delicious food, great location. Durring my stay there was little noizy reconstruction outside a hotel, but nothing critical. Free parking place 2 min by foot far from the hotel. Historical building with a modern interier as well.

Visited the restaurant for dinner. Ordered various starters, mains and desserts - all of them were very carefully and properly cooked and designed. Highly recommend this place.

we had a 2-room- apartment, big enough for 4. If you do not like to make your own breakfast they also provide that. However, bakeries and everything else is just around the corner, Pappenheim si a very small place.
