Honestly, it’s very hard to understand the last reviews. We have been here three times, before writing a review. My personal opinion is, never write a review if your aren’t precise and experienced in this kind of kitchen. Don’t complain about prices if you have no idea of such gourmet chefs. Get your complaints to the kitchen and not to Google, except you were disappointed after a second visit where your brought your thoughts to the team at your first visit. Always keep in mind, your Google review can really hurt. I did some bad Google reviews too, but thought about it before many times. I am not, in any way, belonging to the Zweierlei, only a user who is very upset reading these reviews lacking true contents. Back to the wonderful Zweierlei: Well, our third visit has been as amazing as the ones before. Wonderful dishes, worth one Michelin star although they don’t have one yet. Every dish has been precisely planned concerning textures and taste composition. Portions are a little too big within the 5 course menu (€71) we had, but they are aware of this already. Quality in each and every dish has been absolutely wonderful. We personally love the service although I think, due to his partly relaxed behaviour , it could be a distinguished experience for others. This is place for gourmets, don’t go there if you like to have standard food as you will be stressed by the textures and taste. It’s not for beginners. If you are experienced, don’t waste a minute planning to get here, just do. It’s worth, even cheap, every Euro. Good luck for the Zweierlei, their personality and intentions are exact the way it needs to be! Had a long conversation with the chef , he is young, experienced and full of ideas. I am writing this after visiting may be 50 different Michelin star restaurants in Europe, believe me I know what I am talking about. Please don’t believe the bad reviews here. Update June 2021 : First visit after Covid Lockdown : incredible quality. Wonderful ideas and setups. Definitely worth one Michelin star! Portions came down to a perfect size within 7 dishes menu.

The absolute best part about this place was the excellent service by our host. He was so attentive and nice! The food was so delicious but I wasn’t feeling well so he packed away the food for me to enjoy today and wrote down heating instructions so it would taste as close to the fresh deliciousness as possible. Food was 5/5 but service was 6/5 :) the restaurant space is cozy and intimate and the dishes were served at the perfect intervals.

Finally! A restaurant in the city that understands how to balance flavours with some salt, heat, sweet, and a bit of acidity. The decor is a bit "trying-too-hard-to-look-modern", but that's totally fine by me since I really really really enjoyed the food. Innovative, different, just a big yay! I definitely would recommend coming here if you want experience more than your typical everyday/standard food.

It is so difficult to review this place honestly without being mean. Here are the facts: 1. We were a party of four, where everybody ate different dishes. All of us found the food absolutely bad. I should probably add that we regularly try out restaurant in the area and that we never had such a bad taste experience. 2. The place is small. We were four of 12 customers that night - all small parties. Yet we waited up to 45 minutes between two dishes. 3. All of us have different taste and expectations and yet again unanimous: Beyond disliking the food we were only able to recognize three types of dishes: too sweet, very bitter, too salty. 4. The price we paid is similar to restaurants with higher standards (for ex. Setzkasten by Edeka or Dr. Kosch). And yet it barely reached the level of fast food chains. When you wait so long for such expensive food, it should also not be served burnt. 5. Other than that: The presentation looks very well. Which was even more deceiving. And the service was friendly, but lacked of manors you would expect from a place that wants to play in such a league. I am really sorry to be so harsh. But one has to face what is going on there.

Food combinations are not tasty, and its much overpriced. The dishes look nice, but the taste is really bad. And it took them 45min to bring the food, whereas the place was not full.
