The Zymarium Meadery taproom was years in the making, and after several delays, they finally opened their doors recently. I was fortunate to participate in their soft opening in August 2023 as our mutual friend is a bottle club member. We spent that Saturday afternoon experiencing tremendous meads that brought me to a place of terrific tantalization.
The turnstile of mead options allowed me to bask in a synergy of different flavors for both session and still meads. I found myself wanting to prance around naked in the taproom -- but I kept that feeling all inside.
The black-painted walls and goth and industrial interior were quite open-spaced between the bar and the rest of the taproom area. There are booths, tables, and lounge seating that can house quite a few people, which, based on their mead production, should need the space to accommodate.
We drew some terrific meads from the menu, such as the Florida Lychee, Golden Helix, Figures of Oblivion, Mango Lassi, and Madagascar Blueberry session meads that allowed me to elevate to a place of spiritual purity and strength, strength and spiritual purity. From the still side, we enjoyed pours of Soliloquy of Nectar black mangrove, SoN orange blossom, coconut grove, vanilla espresso 431, and endless blueberries. The Miel de Miel, Laura Palmer, Florida Fall Prologue, Rhizome, and Barrel-Aged Tupelo Cadecha were also quite tasty, while Soliloquy of Nectar Lelua Blossom was fire burning a bonfire of natural desire inside of me. The Florida lychee mead was pure ecstasy before we concluded the tasting with a reserve bottle of endless cherry pie mead that was magical, very magical.
If you live in the Orlando area, or like visiting breweries and meaderies, Zymarium should be on your list hands down.
