This restaurant was recently bought out and revamped, including a name change and a completely updated menu. The food itself is good and the portions are generous, which I really appreciated. The staff is genuinely attentive and welcoming, and you can tell they care about providing a good experience, which makes me hopeful about where the restaurant is headed.
However, after closing for renovations, I was expecting a more noticeable transformation. Aside from a new projector, much of the space—and even the dishware—feels the same as the previous restaurant. The reused plates aren’t particularly modern or aesthetic, which makes the overall experience feel like a continuation of the former place rather than a fresh concept. At the moment, it feels a bit like the shadow of the previous restaurant, just with a higher-priced menu.
One small safety concern: I ordered the pork belly, which came out in a small but tall metal tray with a chafing dish underneath. While visually appealing, I accidentally burned myself and had some grease splash while reaching for the side dishes. A slight adjustment to the setup would make it more comfortable and safer.
Overall, the food and service are solid, and there’s clear potential here. With more attention to ambiance, presentation, and cohesion between the space and menu pricing, this could become a really standout spot. I’m excited to see how they continue to grow and refine their identity.
