Yelp
A local community drinking place with likely no foreigner customers.
If you want to feel "Japanese", they Sake Shop SUZUDEN.
How does it work:
Left half of the facility is a standing room only Izakaya. Right half is a sake shop, where use as overflow space. If Izakaya area gets filled, they continue to accept more customers and situate you with a table made by empty cartons. Go in there, tell them how many of you are in the party (don't go here in a big group). They will identify your area to stand around. Then, walk into Izakaya, line up, and order your drinks and food at the counter. You pay at the counter. Employees will carry the food and drinks to your table as you guide them.
What you cannot do:
I don't think you are allowed to purchase a bottle of Sake and drink it here at the facility. I didn't ask, but it felt that way. They want you to order by cup.
Prices:
Reasonable, but not dirt cheap. I chose one of their more expensive sake selection "Juyondai" (十四代), which was 800 Yen for a cup. Food items were about 300-500 yen. It tasted pretty good.
Memorable moment was when I was waiting in a line to order my food. There was this old man dead drunk. He was sitting up, but no consciousness. They decided to call the ambulance and they took him away. Don't be like this old man.
